Lab Upgrade

A few days after Tony brought all his stuff with him

Kane and Tony finished making Kane's workshop more high tech. Kane sat down and said "Finally!" Tony complained "I did like 90% of the work. Kid these days." Kane chuckled and said "Meh. my place is better than yours anyway. Look at my A.I!" Megan giggled "Yay!" a virtual girl flew around the room happily.

Megan stopped in the air and said "Much better than Jarvis!" as she flexed her arms. Tony choked and Jarvis sounded "Excuse you." Kane and Megan chuckled "The future is now old man." Tony was speechless.

Megan had pink hair, white skin, blue eyes and a white sundress. She was a head smaller than Kane and she didn't have any shoes on. She was a pretty girl, but still just an A.I.

Suddenly, Megan frowned and said "We have a visitor." Kane said "Show me." a screen popped up in the air, showing a black man with an eye patch looking behind him. Tony frowned and said "Fury? How the fuck did he get here?"

Kane said "Who's Fury?" Tony said seriously "Director of Shield." Kane frowned and said directly "What does the director of Shield want with me."

Fury was outside and heard Kane's voice, he let out a breath and said "We have to talk. This is extremely important." Kane sneered "You think you can try and kill me, then come over telling me we have to talk and I'll just let you in? Surely you're smarter than that."

Tony was silent but he agreed, at the same time he was curious was Fury was doing here, or even how he got here.

Fury put his hands up and said seriously "I'm alone and unarmed, I really have nowhere else to go. I know Stark is in there. I just want to talk." Kane was silent and looked at Tony, who frowned and said "In the lounge." Kane sighed and said "Wait a minute, I want you to know, I will kill you if you make any suspicious movements."

Fury nodded and looked around saying "I don't know if I was followed. Just letting you know." Kane nodded and said "Megan, check a 5 mile radius for anything." Megan hummed and Kane an Tony left.

A few minutes later

Fury was sitting in the lounge across from Tony and Kane, he had a serious face on and said "I'm sure you're wondering what the fuck is going on." Kane and Tony nodded and Tony said "Why was I targeted."

Fury said "You have anywhere to put in a video file?" Kane said "Megan." Megan materialized with a virtual Gatling gun saying "Hands up Punk!" Fury was spooked and Kane spit out his drink, Tony laughed and Megan giggled before losing the gun and saying sweetly "I'll take your video file."

Fury said "Quite the A.I" he looked at Tony, who pointed his thumb at Kane, Fury raised his brows as he handed the video file. Megan read it in an instant, checking for a virus or something like that. When she found nothing, she put it in the system and a video played on the screen.

Fury said "This was 3 days ago."

3 days ago

The rest of the Avengers got back to Shield, with heavy hearts. They basically had just lost Thor and Tony, and they were confused. They only had the order to go, not to fire, but they didn't know who fired.

Steve sighed and said "Just go get some rest, I'll talk to Fury about it." they nodded and left. Steve made a straight face and walked into Fury's office. This was when the video started.

Fury said angrily "Who told you to fire!?" Steve said "We don't know who-" Fury snapped "Bullshit! I saw YOU fired the rocket. You think I don't have eyes on you all?" Steve lost his sorry expression and his face became cold as he said "I made a choice."

Fury said "A bad one! I didn't unfreeze you to go around firing Rockets at people!" he stood up and looked out the window saying "How are we going to fix this! Damn it!"

Steve said behind him "You don't have to worry about that." Fury was confused and turned around to see Steve with a gun pointed at him, he frowned and said "What?"

Steve grinned and said "Hail Hydra."

'BANG'

Steve shot Fury right in the chest, sending him flying through the window.

Suddenly a man with a silver left arm appeared in the room and Steve said "Make it look real." as he threw the gun to him. The man with the silver arm nodded and took the gun. Steve shouted "Director Fury has been shot!" as he started fighting the silver armed man.

The rest of the Avengers burst into the room and saw the silver armed man, he noticed them and jumped out a window, escaping. Steve followed after him and the rest followed Steve. The video ended.

Back to the room

Tony's mouth was open wide and Kane was normal. He didn't even know what Hydra was so, he wasn't that shocked. Fury said "That wasn't really me. I noticed things were off and bailed. The one who got shot was an alien named Talos, a Skrull. We made contact with them around 20 years ago, through an interaction with a superhero named Captain Marvel."

Kane said "Hold on. What's Hydra." Fury said "An evil organization with the goals of taking over the world." Kane leaned back and muttered "Fuck, there goes my plans. Why does someone always have to come first..." Tony coughed and looked at Kane, Fury shook his head and said "Anyway."

He paused before continuing "In the 40's Steve Rogers fought against them and saved the world from Hydra before getting frozen in the ice, which led to us finding him in the present day. He hates Hydra with every fiber of his being-" Kane cut him off and said "Obviously not. Did you not see the same video I just saw?"

Fury raised a hand and said "I'm aware of the contradictions. Let me explain. After we unfroze Steve, he was normal, but just before the Invasion of the Chitauri, he seemed a bit different. I noticed a certain gleam in his eye and switched places with Talos during the battle. Nobody else knows that it was actually Talos who 'died'."

Kane frowned and said "He's not dead?" Fury shook his head and said "Not exactly, Skrulls can transform into anyone. He is currently undercover with my assistant, Maria Hill." Kane said "Is she a Skrull too?" Fury shook his head and Tony said "So what do we do? Go beat up the popsicle? Then what?"

Fury said "We need to take Shield back, obviously. I have a plan, but I need both of you." Kane frowned and said "What makes you think I'm just going to help you? If you haven't noticed, I'm not a 'good' guy, I'm running a 'bad' organization, by your standards."

Kane paused and added "Also. I'm not really to worried about killing people." Kane chuckled and scratched his neck adding "I'm a big bad guy." Tony chuckled and Fury said "Running an underground organization isn't a 'bad' guy thing. I've already heard of Purgatory for your information."

Kane sighed and mumbled "I already have a rat, who would've thought..." Fury coughed and said "Anyway, are you in? If not, I have to make a new plan." Kane sighed and said "Do I really have a choice? What are you offering me."

Fury said "Well you won't be a fugitive anymore." Kane rolled his eyes and Fury added "Shield will fund you." Kane perked up and said "You will?!" completely stunned, usually 'good' guys don't associate with 'bad' guys unless..

Kane lit a cigarette and leaned forward saying seriously "What's the catch. I refuse to believe, I get a 'free money' card from you without any drawbacks." Fury smirked and said "I need something I can't get above ground, you get it for me. That's the catch."

Kane leaned back and said "Surely you don't expect me to give it to you for free." Fury said "Obviously not. I will pay, I do hope you at least remember my favors and give me a discount." Kane thought about it and said "I can do that." Fury grinned and said "Good! Okay here's the plan."

A while later

Kane was being dragged by Tony and said "I hate this plan..." Venom said "Me too." Tony said "Just relax, nothing will happen." Kane quipped "Better not. I might just go on a rampage. Why couldn't we just go with my plan again?"

Tony said "Because 'Running in and killing everything' isn't kosher." Kane retorted "It's fine, I'm not jewish." Tony chuckled and said "Nice." Kane nodded and said "Thanks, I'm quirky like that." Tony added "And narcissistic." Kane hummed "Maybe..."

They arrived at Shield HQ and Tony dragged Kane inside.

Steve stopped them and said "What are you doing here?" Tony said "I captured the kid. Figured I'd get in Shield's good graces before I became a fugitive myself." Steve smiled and said "Good, I knew you'd come around." as he patted Tony's shoulders and added "Natasha, take the kid to the cells." Natasha dragged Kane away and Tony left with Steve.

Kane was being brought to the cells and was silent. He looked at Natasha and narrowed his eyes, Venom said "Can we kill her?" Kane said "We don't know if she's Hydra or not yet. So, no? Man, these plans are complicated." Venom agreed and said "We should've just went on a rampage, I liked that plan."

Kane chuckled and said "Me too, but Fury promised us a bunch of benefits so we have to follow along... For now." All of this happened in Kane's head so Natasha had no idea. She suddenly said "So you're just a kid eh?"

Kane replied "Mostly. I like to think of myself as a 'young man' but I guess you don't really care." Natasha shrugged and said "Whatever, I just follow orders." Kane coughed and said "Like a puppet." before coughing again. Natasha glared at him and Kane looked around, whistling with a shit-eating grin on his face.

Natasha threw him in a cell and walked away angrily, Kane shouted "Where's my phone call!?" Natasha said "Get a lawyer!" Kane clicked his tongue and said "I have rights, Red!" Natasha grumbled and gave him a cell phone, Kane called and said "Hey Buddy! I got arrested, wanna come bail me out?" there was a mumbled over the phone and Kane sighed "Fine, whatever. Just so you know, I don't agree with your train of thought. See you soon." before hanging up and handing the phone back to Natasha saying "Any chance you have chocolate here?"

Natasha said "No." and walked away, Kane mumbled "Good thing we ate before.." Venom said "I am still a bit hungry..." Kane said "One brain!" Venom chuckled happily and they sat in the cell quietly, waiting for the signal.

After a while

A boom was heard and the cell door opened. Kane grinned and transformed into Venom saying "It's showtime, buddy." Venom chuckled and they ran through the building.

Kane came across the man with a silver arm, Kane said "Ou! A hydra agent all to our own! Nice arm, let me see it for a sec." Kane activated his powers and ALL the metal flew towards him, forming two massive metal arms, that kept getting bigger. The silver arm also flew over, Kane grabbed the man and ripped him away from the arm before throwing him through a wall.

More and more metal flew towards Kane and he formed his arms into hammers as he swung them around, hitting all the agents shooting at him as a voice came over the intercom "Prisoner 107 has escaped, all agents target with intention to kill."

Kane clicked his tongue and said "Fucking Hydra." as he continued to make a ruckus.

Eventually, Steve and the rest of the Avengers, minus Tony, came to Kane and attacked. Kane pulled Steve's shield to him and attached it to his chest as he said "Look at me! I'm Captain America~" Kane put his arms together and formed a cannon before repelling.

A large ball of metal shot out at the Avengers, most of them dodged but a green giant didn't even bother to and was hit head on. Unfortunately for Kane, the green giant didn't even move an inch. Kane said "Oh. That's not good." Venom said "Definitely not."

Sure enough, the green giant roared and said "Hulk smash!" as he charged at Kane.

Kane's arms turned a shiny black and he formed fists again before punching Hulk, stopping him in his tracks, but also making the Hulk angrier. The other's weren't idle and attacked Kane as well.

Kane tilted his head and head butted, dodging an arrow and hitting Steve away. Kane swung one arm behind him and slapped Natasha away, before kicking out, shooting metal at the, now one armed, man, named Bucky.

Kane focused 60% of his attention on Hulk and divided the rest amongst the others attacking him. Even for Kane and Venom, this was quite the hard task. The main problem being, Hulk was getting stronger by the second as he couldn't hit Kane, the rest were trying their best but they couldn't do much.

Steve didn't have his shield, Bucky lost his arm, Hawkeye couldn't hit Kane, and Natasha was really just a normal assassin, not really suitable for head on fights with a monster like Kane.

Kane could also feel every shot Hawkeye, Clint Barton, shot so he just dodged them when necessary. Kane frowned, he knew that he couldn't hold on forever and Fury specifically said to not kill any of them. He was getting pretty annoyed, if he was being honest.

Venom growled "Fuck it, let's just kill them!" Kane said "If nothing changes in 10 minutes, we'll start killing." as he repelled the metal on his back, hitting Natasha away.

Kane narrowed his eyes and pulled Hulk as he charged at him, spinning around and throwing him into Steve before charging at Clint and punching him into a wall. Kane whipped his leg out, forming a longer metal leg and slamming it into Bucky's side, shooting him through several walls.

Kane looked at the rest and the shield on his chest moved to his hand before sinking into his hand, which turned into an open slot. Kane grinned and repelled the shield, shooting it out and hitting Steve in the chest, sending him flying as the shield flew back at Kane.

Venom said "Cool!" Kane grinned and said "A new toy!" Tony's voice rang "Do it, kid." Kane grinned and shouted "Hydra! Come out to play!" he rang off a ton of names and activated his powers on his whole body, forming into a black metal giant with a giant sharp toothed mouth and a metallic tongue.

He was gigantic 1000 meter metal monster now.

Kane punched through the roads leading away from the Shield HQ, the jets and planes attached to his back and couldn't be used. There was no escape from Shield HQ at the moment. Tony flew out and hovered in the air next to Kane saying "Nice, a flashy entrance. I like it!"

Kane chuckled and said "I try." as he smashed the building and looked in the air at the 3 hovering helicarriers. Kane jumped up and swatted two of them, sending them crashing down, but before they hit the ground, they attached to Kane and assimilated.

Kane aimed his palm at the last one and repelled a huge chunk of metal, shooting down the last Helicarrier and assimilating it as well. Kane bent down and loomed over all the people and Tony flew under and aimed his repulsors at the group.

Steve shouted "What's the meaning of this?!" Suddenly a voice was heard "I'll tell you, Captain." everybody turned to see, Nick Fury walking towards them. Steve's pupils shrank as he said "Impossible!"

Fury chuckled and said "Very possible. Maria!" Maria ran over along with another man, who transformed into a green skinned alien with pointy ears. Fury continued "I knew there was something wrong a while ago, I just needed them to move. With a little... help, I was able to flush out all the rats. Do it."

Half the group immediately shot the incognito Hydra agents, leaving a man and Steve. The shield agents stood behind Fury and the rest of the Avengers, left Steve to stand by Fury as well. Kane said "You know, I'm really hungry... Are you done with this Pierce guy?"

Fury said "Well that depends.." he looked at Pierce and said "Where's the rest of Hydra!" Pierce sneered "Go find them yourself!" Fury grinned and said "Yeah, I'm done with him." Kane shot forward and bit Pierce's head right off, Venom said "Yummy!" Kane chuckled and said "I'll never get used to that.."

Tony and the rest surrounded Steve and Tony said "Time's up, Iceman. Come quietly." Kane looked over and grabbed Bucky saying "You too, Bucky. Just relax man." Kane slammed him down on the ground saying "Also, I had to actually do something because of you!" Kane grumbled and punched him into the ground saying "Stupid, brainwashed moron..."

Tony chuckled and said "Maybe you won't have to deal with that, Rogers. We'll fix you, come quietly." Steve put his hands up in the air and was taken into custody. Tony looked up and said "Where's Banner?" Clint pointed to Kane's foot, Tony looked over and saw the Hulk struggling to move under Kane's weight.

Tony said "Alright kid, let the green guy go, he's turning purple for god sakes. We're done here." Kane chuckled and walked over the water, dropping all the metal down, reverting to his normal state but Venom stayed however. Kane still didn't trust them at all. Fury said "Can you and Tony do something about these two?"

Kane looked over at Steve and Bucky, who was completely unconscious now, before rubbing his chin and saying "Maybe... I guess I could 'experiment' a bit." Tony said "Easy. A little counter brainwashing, might take a while though."

Kane suddenly said "I'll take them both with me." Fury said "I better have them back." he paused before adding "In one piece." Kane nodded and said "I'm not an animal. You'll have your 'Captain America' back soon enough." Kane kicked Steve in the head, knocking him out.

Kane grabbed Steve and Bucky and dragged them behind him, humming to himself. Tony chuckled and followed him, leaving the rest to figure out what they were doing. Fury said "Time to move. Operation Rebirth is effective immediately." Maria nodded and started calling out orders.

Shield started fixing everything up internally, getting rid of the fish that escaped the net and moving everything to a different location. The rest of the Avengers were idle and helped out, Hulk turned back to Banner and started helping out as well.

Meanwhile

Kane was in his workshop and drew a jar of blood from Steve, this was a once in a lifetime chance! Tony just shook his head and they started working on the two brainwashed agents, after Kane took blood samples from them both.
