8 Backstab

Kane tossed the blue cube in his hands and got a call on his computer. Kane said "Tinman?" Tony said "What's up kid. Back in Alaska?" Kane put the cube down and typed on his computer saying "Something like that. I'm thinking of moving to the arctic circle, what do you think?" on his laptop a map appeared, pinpointing Tony's location.

Tony said "A bit cold. Did you find me already?" Kane said "Yessir. Moving pretty fast arentcha?" Tony chuckled and said "I start fidgeting when I sit in once place, by the way, did you happen to see a blue paperweight?"

Kane looked at the cube and said "Misplace something?" Tony said "Yeah something like that. Listen, dangerous object, going back to Asgaard. You have it?" Kane scratched his chin and said "I might have it... I might not."

Tony said "What do you want?" Kane said "2 more suits and more materials to update my workshop." Tony laughed and said "Look at you, a little extortionist! I'll give you the materials and you can keep the suit you have."

Kane tapped on the cube and thought to himself before saying "Add 1 Billion and we have a deal." Tony said "You really drive a hard bargain.." Kane added "I'll stop texting you." Tony said "Deal." Kane grinned and said "Central park, 5 hours. Good?"

Kane paused and said "No Shield. Thor is fine." Tony chuckled "Not much of a government guy?" Kane replied "I like to do what I want. See you soon~" before hanging up. Kane said "Megan, can you get into his A.I or no."

Megan said "Extremely tough, plus he might trace me back." Kane sighed and said "Never mind then." he stood up and put the blue cube in a briefcase before leaving.

Tony looked around and said "He has it. Had to make quite the deal with him to get it back. People nowadays." A woman with red hair said "What deal?" Tony said "Materials for a workshop and 1 Billion." the woman frowned and a man with a circular shield said "Who is he?"

Thor was eating and said "He called himself Venom. A nice fellow, that Klyntar." Tony said "Klyntar?" Thor said "Alien race. Needs a host to survive, there was a war on their planet a long time ago but they were originally space warriors. Haven't heard anything about them for quite a while though."

Tony said "Alien?!" Thor nodded and said "What?" the rest looked at him and Thor said "You thought humans were the only beings in this universe? There are an uncountable number of races and planets."

Tony clicked his tongue and said "Things get crazier each day.." he looked at his watch and said "Thor, let's go. I need to get everything here in 5 hours." Thor ate the rest and went to leave with him. The rest stood up and Tony said "Haha, hold you horses Avengers. Disassemble for me, yeah? Only me and Thor on this job."

The man with a circular shield frowned and said "Why? If it's a threat it must be eliminated." Tony said "Calm down, Iceman. No threats here, he said no Shield. Do you want to risk it?" the man with the circular shield was, of course, Captain America or Steve Rogers, and he retorted "We can just take him down, you don't have to give anything."

Tony sighed and said "I'm sure bartering was a thing back in the 40s? It hasn't changed Cap. I got this, we have a good relationship." the woman said "At least let us hang around." Tony sighed and said "What is this a get together? It's a simple trade off! Relax. Let's go, Thunder Alien."

Thor and Tony left the Shawarma place and the rest were silent. Steve said "Call it in." the woman nodded and made a phone call.

A while later

Kane perched on a tree branch in Central park. He wanted to see if Tony really held up his part of the deal. Eventually he saw Tony and Thor, along with Loki and a huge crate of stuff, appear. Kane turned to Venom and jumped down in front of the three.

Kane said "Hey. Is that everything?" Tony shrugged and said "I wired 1 Billion to your ghost account already." Kane said "Megan." Megan replied "He did." Kane said "Didn't think you would keep your promises, Tinman."

Tony grinned and said "We'll I'm sort of a good guy like that." Kane chuckled and said "Unworthy man, finally going back?" Thor grinned and said "Can't keep me out forever." Kane shook his head and handed him the briefcase saying "I didn't even get the chance to test it.. What a pity."

Tony took it and opened the briefcase before seeing the cube and saying "Smoothest transaction, I've ever had." Kane spread out his hands and said "Why would I lie to you, I have the materials, plus I don't even know what that thing is. Most magic objects are dangerous, maybe I just skipped out on a disast-"

Kane frowned and pulled Tony, Thor, and Loki to him before covering them with a Venom dome shield. A loud explosion sounded and Kane groaned in pain.

He uncovered them and looked to see a jet hovering in the air, there was a huge crater with only the spot Kane shielded being still in tact. Kane growled "We said 'no Shield'!" Tony retorted "Obviously, you didn't see them targeting me too."

Thor frowned and looked at the jet saying "It's a Shield jet for sure." Kane snapped "I can fucking see that! Ah my materials for fuck sakes!" Tony frowned and the back of the jet opened, revealing Steve and the others.

Tony said "You trying to kill me?!" Steve said "Taking out a variable." Tony's eyes widened and he said "And me?! Did that Ice freeze your fucking brain too?!" Kane frowned and attracted the metal to him, forming giant arms. He opened his palm to the jet and repelled the metal at the jet, forcing it to fly away as he said "They can't track you right Tinman?"

Tony frowned and said "Not at the moment." Kane said "Good. Thor go back, I'm taking the Tinman. Perhaps Shield abandoned you as well." Kane grabbed Tony and ran into the forest, Thor summoned the Bifrost and returned to Asgaard with Loki and the cube.

The jet flew after Kane and Tony.

Kane looked up and changed directions quickly before reverting to normal and putting Tony on his shoulder as he drilled into an alley and ran through the city, losing the jet as he returned to his base.

Kane brought Tony into the lab and put him down before sitting in his chair and letting out a breath. Tony looked around and saw the blood and the mice, the metals, and the set up before saying "A bit primitive, but it'll work."

Kane chuckled and said "What do you think the materials were for? Megan, the news please." the big monitor on the wall played the news. Kane watched and clicked his tongue "Fugitive eh?" Tony watched and frowned before saying "Jarvis, contact Pepper."

Kane shook his head and put his goggles back on before going back to work on the suit. It looked completely different, but also the same. The suit was all black now, with white teardrop eyes and there was a giant thruster on the back, as well as giant thrusters on the feet.

The hands had metal tubes coming out from the back of the palms and connected, over the shoulder, into the thrusters on the back. The arc reactor in the middle hand two rings in it, slightly on top of each other.

Tony finished his call and walked over, he looked at the suit and whistled "Fancy. Was is it." Kane lifted his goggles and said "Old suit, better now. It doesn't have a name, but it SHOULD travel at Mach 1. It's not airtight yet, nor has it been tested.."

Tony said "Mach 1!" Kane nodded and said "Yeah, the suit will protect you as you break the sound barrier but I don't know if it will actually go that fast. I haven't tested it and It's not finished so.." Tony said "What's not finished?"

Kane said "The airtight seal." Tony raised a brow and said "That's it?" Kane nodded and Tony grabbed the suit and put it on, Kane said "What are you doing?!" Tony said "Testing the suit, obviously. What does it look like? If it works, I'll get to my workshop in 4 hours! 2 hours faster than a plane, by the way."

Kane said "And if it doesn't you die." Tony fully suited up and said "I trust you kiddo." before walking out, Kane muttered "Even I don't trust myself..." before following him.

They got outside and Tony heard a woman's voice say "Hello, Tony~ I'm Megan!" Tony said "Oh, hello. You think this is going to work?" Megan hummed and said "I hope so!" Tony chuckled and said "Me too."

Kane said from the side "Listen. You're chest beam has been increased by 600% and your repulsors have been replaced with extremely dense air cannons. They come out faster and harder than a bullet and the chest beam is hotter than magma. I wouldn't go around firing them just anywhere, don't break my suit."

Tony quipped "YOUR suit eh?" Kane sneered "You think that's still the same suit? It's completely different, the only thing that's the same is the flying system, only it's around 300% harder to control. Good luck! Try not to die~"

Tony chuckled and got excited as he activated the thrusters. Kane covered his ears and a boom sounded as Tony disappeared in the sky in a blink. Kane said "Megan?" Megan sounded "Yes~" Kane said "Connect me to him please." Megan did so and Kane said "How you feeling, Tinman?"

Tony said "Currently? Like vomiting, but other than that. Pretty good! Really fast." Kane said "I want it back. I need to perfect the design, airlock, and weapons system before I make my own, suitable for space travel." Tony said "Yeah, yeah. I'll see you in a while, maybe I'll have a surprise too."

Kane replied "Do whatever, I can find you if you bail anyway." before hanging up and turning around. His face turned cold and he said "What." before passing the white haired girl.

She frowned and caught up to him saying "I want to join your organization!" Kane said "No. Why would I take a spy? Do you think I'm an idiot?" and then ignored her as he walked into his base. The white haired girl stomped her foot and shouted "I don't even know what you're talking about! I don't know who Keith is! And I couldn't find any girl named Cassandra! Why are you such an asshole!"

Kane waved over his shoulder and said "I'm Kane. Maybe that will help you... Oh you might not recognize Cassandra anymore. I ruined her face completely after she tricked me. I will do the same to you if you show up in front of me again."

The white haired girl shouted "I'm Elizabeth!" Kane said "I don't care." and disappeared. Elizabeth frowned and mumbled "Kane, Cassandra, ruined face... Hmm Oh! I saw her!" before running away quickly.

Kane sat on the couch in the break room, watching the TV as he lit a cigarette. He sighed and closed his eyes, falling asleep right there on the couch.

A few days later

Tony came back with a bunch of stuff and Kane said "Fast." Tony said "This suit is awesome! By the way, I'm moving here. To New York, I mean." Kane pointed at himself and Tony sneered "I want to for a while, everything seems to happen around here and not in Malibu. The people are moving as we speak."

Kane said "Well, you're not the fugitive. I am. So really, I run my underground organization and you do your thing.." Kane grinned and said "Maybe you want to join?" Tony flicked his forehead and said "In your dreams kid. Shouldn't you be in school or something?"

Kane got a bit sad before recovering saying "Quit. Knew everything anyway." he quickly changed the subject and said "You bring me anything good?" Tony patted the boxes next to him and said "What do you think?"

Kane opened them and grinned "Perfect! I can completely rebuild! Megan you're getting an upgrade!" Megan squealed like a little girl in excitement and Kane chuckled before bringing the boxes with him into the base and getting to work, with Tony's help of course.
