Always in your heart

'OH HELL HERE I'M ....... CALIFORNIA.....'

Well after about twenty hours of travelling and hell of back and neck pain, I'm finally here.

I am Aditi, Aditi Singh Rathore, 21. And here I'm away from my home, parents and country; leaving everything behind to reach out to my dreams, to know myself and to be independent.

Being a nerd through my whole school life and three years of bachelors. I saw many dreams and many broke but not the one where I want to start my own business and be independent and so to get this dream fulfilled I am here. The minute I got a scholarship to 'Stanford University' I saw all my dreams coming to life. Having a masters degree in Business Administration and my dream to be independent and to live my life on my own terms. So, I packed my bags and flew over here.

OH! You think it was that easy; it took a lot of rambling, convincing and doing a hell of drama to convince my parents to let me come. Though they didn't let me come without a long list of do's and don'ts fully memorized. I know they are worried about me, but I think I am mature enough to know what is right and wrong and to set my boundaries.

I love them. I felt my heart drowning thinking about them and thinking about living without them. I shook the thought off my mind and headed out.

I am standing at the door of a house which I found from the advertisement for the requirement of a roommate. It is located outside of the city, but I like it, there is peace and silence around. I rang the bell and waited.

A sound of something falling and rustling came through doors and a guy with brown hair, fair skin and light brown eyes opened the door.

There is a guy, wasn't there supposed to be a girl. That's what it was given in the advertisement.

"Yes?" He asked with a questioning look.

"I'm Aditi, I'm here as a roommate." I said with uncertainty.

"Who is there?" A girl's voice came.

And a girl with fair but bit dark complexion came from behind she had grey eyes, black hair dyed in hot pink colour, slender with perfect curves tattoos can been seen on her arms, neck and shoulder.

"Uh, someone as a roommate?" He replied more like question.

"Oh, you must be the one, what's your name?"

"Aditi, but you can call me Adi." I replied with a smile.

"I'm Davina, D." She said extending her hand with a smile.

"And this is Caleb, my boyfriend." She said gesturing towards the guy.

'OH'

"Hey" He extended his hand and I took it gladly.

"Come in" D said

" Let me help you with the bags." Caleb offered and gave him a nod.

The house is not big but is spacious there is a couch and an armchair in the living room facing the T.V. on the opposite wall. The walls were decorated with paintings and photos it's beautiful.

There was a kitchen to the left, chairs set opposite to kitchen table, it was small but good. There was a door to the right curtain drawn, which I guess leads to the backyard.

There was a small description two-storied, with a porch and backyard. It was beautiful and affordable.

" Do you need anything to drink or eat?" D asked.

" No thanks" I replied

"So you are from India." D spoke

"Ya never thought it would be too far, which took a hell of twenty hours of travelling." I said with a chuckle.

"You must be really tired." D said

"Yup, apparently my whole back is paining."

"Let me give you body massage, I am good at it." Caleb said and my eyes grew round.

'what!'

"He is just joking, don't take him seriously." D said immediately seeing my reaction and Caleb on the back of his head.

"Let me show you your room." D said walked towards the right of the living room.

"This is your room and mine is up to left." D said, opening door of the room.

It was not too big but enough for me, it had a bed, a closet to left, a study table on the rightmost corner beside a window that looks out on road and playground and small dressing table on both side of the bed. I walked to the bathroom, it was spacious with a shower. Pretty enough for me. It was beautiful, I like this place.

I placed my bags in a corner getting things I need right now to freshen up and some food my mom packed for me I paced in on table so I can remember to take it in kitchen.

I took a relaxing cold water bath I know I'm weird. I changed into fresh comfortable clothes.

I placed the food box my mom packed on the kitchen counter as I pour a glass of water for myself.

"What are those?" D asked refering to the boxes.

"That's some food my mom sent." I said

"What's this it's too spicy!" Caleb exclaimed rushing to fetch water.

I looked at the jar he had opened and tried hard not to laugh.

"It's pickle." I said with an apologetic look.

"You should have asked her first. Not just digging in." D said scolding him

"It just looked good and eatable so I had it. It's all because of you I told you long time before that I'm hungry you didn't give me food." Caleb said chunking down ice-cream as still felt hot.

"Why me can't you get food yourself." D said

They continued there quarrel for a while. We had our dinner after than and I was tired so I retired to my room while D and Caleb decided to see movie.
