As soon as my body touches another, a commotion starts. A jumble of words, and yells attack all my senses. I put both my hands on my ears to shut down the noise, but it doesn't stop. Small black dots appear everywhere. They grow exponentially until everything is black around me.
Losing consciousness at the right moment to feel like a damsel in distress can not be a solution. I open my eyes to see anxious faces over me. Somebody picks me up from the floor. My body floats to a much bigger space, fully lit. Blinking away my tears, I observe the room. It is the living room, and they have put me down on the center table.
"Francesca, can you hear me?"
The way he says it, I guess that he has been asking this question for a while. Felix kisses my forehead and mumbles apologies for something he did not commit. I want to stop him, but I am just too tired.
