Mystery class abilities had always been considered to be vastly different from the other ability classes, one of those reasons being thefact that mystery vlasa ability were mainly just abilities that varied greatly from each other in miltiple ways and forms.

For instance, Kayden's mystery class ability is transformation, abd coupled with his system, he has access to unlock ten separate monster transformations, provided that he completes the quests necessary to do so.

Then, there are those like Marcus and Dan. On one habd, Marcus has a mystery class ability that allows him to alter people's memories, while Dan is able to copy other people's abilities. These abilities, their basis of operation, or more so, their origin, cannot be traced or explained which is why they are labelled mystery class. They are a mystery, even today.

And now, there was yet another mystey class ability: necromancy. By definition, necromancy is the practice that involves using magic to resurrect fallen corpses, using one's powers to manipulate them as they please. However, what Fredrick had just done couldn't be considered as magic.

It was simply an ability, just like the others.

Now that the tgreat had been dealt with, he cancelled his ability, and with that, the karge skeleton disappeared as well.

"What just happened?" He asked, looking around. He could see three students in tbe area as well, all of which looked to be badly beaten abd bruised.

The one who had decided to explain what was going on was Riley, since she seemed to be the most sane one at the moment. After going into detail explaining what she knew, Fredrick ordered the other two to take the students to the infermary to be treated.

Kayden had woken up the next day in the hospital. He rose from the bed and got off. The first thing he went to check up on was the quest, abd aure enough, he had faiked it. He had failed at a chance to grow stronger.

'I don't think i should be too hard on myself. It wasn't like i had a chance of winning, anyway,' he imagined. Looking around the place, he could see the nurse having her gaze fixated ob her tablet, mumbling to herself.

'These kids can freaking heal by themselves when their Mana restores, yet, they still expect me to heal them like i'm some sort of mana tree,' he heard her mutter with his sensitive werewolf ears.

'The other two already left? I guess i was beaten pretty bad then,' he thought, remembering when he had gone ahead and tried to tackle the alien. 'That was so fuckibg dumb,' he smiled, waving his habd at the nurse before leaving the infermary.

The next thing he did was hed back to his dorm room. It was still quite early in the morning. Classes wouldn't begin until an hour later. Therefore, he wanted to go abd check whether the other two decided to head back to the room.

On his way to hos room, he heard a voice in his head.

"All first years are hereby ordered to be present in the auditorium within five minutes!" The vouce ordered, loud abd commanding. Kayden had never heard this voice in his life, so he was left wondeeing what that was all about. The same could be saud for the other students. This was the furst time something like this had happened to them at the academy.

"What's all this about?" He asked himself, scratching his head. "Do the high-ups want to announce something? Does this have something to do with yesterday? I guess that would make sense. It would be weird if they simply just ignored the fact that another shale attack at the academy had taken place.'

He could still remember the first time auch a thing had happened. That was during the inter-student competition between the first and the second years. Right after everyone thought thr event was over, a rogue shale crashed into the building, abd it took the joint efforts of a lot of strong individuals at the event to eventually defeat the creature.

Then just yesterday, something similar had taken place.

"I wonder what this announcement is gonna be about," he said, making his way towards the auditorium. The auditorium they were referring to was simply just the arena. Since it was a multipurpose space, it was also used by the academy staff as an auditorium to pass across important information to the students.

Upon making it to the arena, he coukd see that the place was packed with students all chatting, wondering what this announcement was going to be about. He even spotted Paul abd Shawn some distance away abd approached them.

"You guys have any idea what's going on?" He asked, to which the both of them just shrugged. They were all clueless as to what was going on. That was until a man had stepped onto the stage, speaking through the mic to get the students' attention.

"Thank you for coming today on such short notice, everyone! I know you students have classes today, so i will make this announcement quick," the announcer said. "The expedition course, has been rescheduled to begin tomorrow."

The crowd burst out in loud chatter upon hearing this. The expedition course, whuch was going to take place soon enough, was ow set to take place thr next day? Everyone was wondering why the academy was suddenly rushing things. What happened that made them take auch a drastic measure?

Of course, they all knew avout the shale attack from the previous day, since the news had apread like wildfire among the students. Still, did that really mean that they would have to take the expedition course now of all times?

"With that said, you are all dismissed. Get ready and met us at this very place tomorrow for the course to begin," those were the last words the man said before stepping down from the stage.

"The expedition is starting tomorrow? What?!"

"How can this be?! Why so soon?!"

"I'm not sure if i'm ready for it!"

Everyone was resenting the fact that the time for the expedition had been rescheduled. They were all counting on the belief that with the time they had left, that they could gain as much strength necessary to do well during the expedition. But now, they would have to go through it half prepared.

"Well, not all of us are gonna be in that situation. Remember, there are those among us who are stronger than the rest," with that said, the oyer students turned to face those students in question: Shawn, Paul, Kayden, and Zain.

"But wait, where's Kayla? Hasn't anyone noticed she hasn't been attending classes recently?"

"She's the strongest? Do you really think those classes can even do anything to help her?"

'Seems like the others have finally started noticing her absence,' he thought, walking put of the auditorium. 'Since the expedition is starting tomorrow,i need to make sure i'm ready. I think i'm gonna head down to the martial arts class later today to do some more training for tomorrow. Man, everything is really starting to move fast now,' he thought, as he headed back into his room to get ready for the day.

Once all the classes of the day were over, Kayden then went over to the martial arts class to train. However upon entering the class he believed to be empty, he immediately noticed someone else that was already there before him.

"Looks like you also wanna get some last minute training in," Zain said, activating his ability as claw slashes qere sent in the air, flying and clashing into the wall. Upon making contact, some scratches could be seen on the wall, however, they weren't too deep or severe, especially considering the fact that the attack was a large one.

'He also seems to be growing fast. His attacks, they seem on par with that of the instructor,' Kayden thought. 'Now that he's considered the fifth strongest, he's gonna want more. I know you, Zain. Unlike me, your desire for strength goes way beyond helping others. There's something else. Something dark...'

"What do you say we fight?" Zain suddenly said, catching Kayden off guard. "You seem to have improved quite a bit as well. Tell you what. If we fight and you win, i willdo whatever you ask me tp do during the expedition. However, if i win..." He rushed forward, activating his ability and hurling them forward. Kayden managed to dodge the attack, albeit barely as his skin was slightly grazed by the large slashes.

"... You will tell me everything. And i mean EVERYTHING. Do we have a deal?" He finished, already forming another attack in his grasp as the slashes swirled around his fists, a similar attack he had used in the past.

"Deal," Kayden said, transforming into his werewolf form.
