Beast Driven System

The modern age of human society had undergone an evolution that changed it forever. Mana had arrived on Earth, and with it, came a meteor shower that threatened to reduce humanity to nothing but rubble and debris. Earth's governments were thrown into chaos because of this, and many military units were deployed to protect the masses from what they could only assume to be the end of the world. Using the most advanced arsenal possessed by the various world military governments, the adverse effects of the meteor shower had been controlled to an incredible degree, protecting most of Earth's inhabitants from utter annihilation. There were countries that were destroyed, leaderships and citizens wiped from the face of the Earth. Reconstruction had to be done to bring the demolished landscapes back to their former glory. It seemed like everything had gone back to normal, however, that was far from the case. Months after the meteor shower incident, world renouned scientists dedicated their time to studying these strange crystalline meteorites. Years later, and something ground breaking had been discovered-abilities. These meteorites, they weren't actually meteorites, but crystals. Where they had come from was unknown and still being researched up till today. From the crystals came abilities that changed humanity forever. Those who could afford the crystals were fortuate enough to obtain strange powers from within. Fire, boulder, serpent, and many others. Many more years passed by, and more and more was being discovered about abilities and the crystals they came from. Everything seemed to be heading up after the phenomenon that nearly destroyed the Earth, but not everything was for the benefit of everyone. For many years, most were oblivious to the presence of abilities on Earth. It wasn't until an alien invasion occoured, that the information on abilities was made public. Strong ability users were needed to defend Earth against the Shales. The government, private and public corporations, and many others, they were all monetizing whatever crystals they could get their hands on, using it as a means of earning revenye from the populace. Those who were rich enough to purchase ability crystals could become ability users, while those who couldn't would simply remain as regular humans. Many rich families in the new world were able to obtain strong abilities for themselves and their children; the ones who would continue their lineage and glory once their parents are no more. In order to learn how to defend humanity from the invasion of the aliens, people from the ages of 16 were ordered to attend a military academy by the decree of the federal government of their respective countries. Failure to abide by this law was punishable by jail time. Kayden, a sixteen-year-old from a city known as Black Saber city. Having lost his parents at a very yoing age, he had to live with his single uncle and his cousin. Like many other teenagers his age, he desired to attend military school to learn how to fight against the Shales. However, being unable to afford an ability, his dreams of becoming powerful seemed like they would be crushed, but that all changed the day he had been given a system that allows him to unlock monsters by completing quests. On his path to evolve, he must face multiple challenges, complete quests and go on missions just to grow in strength. For in the current world, only the strong are regarded, while the weak are cast aside and forgotten. That was the general rule, the rule that governed everything that happened. From a crystal, came a power that changed his life. Now, he must do whatever it takes to save the people he loves and cares about. He must make sure that he doesn't loose the people he cares about once more.

Internal Struggle

"Where am i?" Marcus asked, looking around himself. Wherever he was, something was telling him that what he was currently witnessing was nothing ordinary. All around him, as far as his eyes could see, skulls, and other human and human-like body parts could be seen. Also, a smell of death would constantly be perceived ad though these corpses were still fresh, despite the fact that they had all dried up a long time ago.

"You are inside my consciousness, well, you could say 'our' consciousness," a voice said. Turning around, his eyes grew wide in shock from what he witnessed. Standing before him, was a man he had never seen in his life, havibg long flowing jair that went all the way down to his knees. His chiselled muscles were on display since this person refused to put on a shirt or anything like that.

A scar could be seen on his right eye, rendering it completely useless, and a long staff was held in his hand. The staff had three arows pointong out from one end, making it look like a tridant, exceot for the fact that the weapon seemed alive with thr way it wriggled in his grasp.

"Who... Who are you...?" A chill ran down his spine as he gazed at this person. For some reason, he didn't even think this person was human. The sheer amount of preasure he felt coming off from this person alone was enough to make him shit himself, though he was strobg enough not to.

"It wouldn't matter whether you know who i am or not. What matters is everything that is cirrently taking place on the outside world," the man replied. "Your body, it is currently in the control of a very powerful ability user from the past, one that was exhiled from human society because of his sheer evil and heinous deeds.

"Somehow, he has managed to awaken in your body, which means doom upon all of humanity, unless someone strong enough steps up to defeat him oncr again."

Marcus didn't know how to react to thr whole thing. His head was hurting just from all that was going on. But not just that. Not too long ago, he had felt a ringing pain. Everything was dark. He couldn't sense anything. It was only now that he could finally see, and the first person he sees, is someone who seems to know a lot about that ability user.

"Hikari only has one goal: to battle to the death against the strongest. He will seek out worthy opponents and battle them to the death, abd whoever stops him... will meet the same fate.

"I don't how he has returned, but he needs to be stopped!"

Back in the military academy, Kayden, along with Paul and Shawn, including some of the instructors, they were doing whatever they could to deal with the Shale. Kayden had resorted to applying some of the techniques he had learnt from the martial arts classes. The aikido techniques allowed him to use his opponent's power against them, allowing him to pin them onto the ground.

'If i can pin it to the ground, then maybe, just maybe, that razor class ability user can cut him to shreds from a close range,' it was a gamble, bit no one seemed to have any brighter ideas at this point. Quickly, he rished forward, performing the movements. 'Though i don't remember everything that guy said. I guess i'll just have to improvise!'

Running forward, he could see Riley attacking with flame arrows, sending them out repeatedly at the alien. Using it as a distraction, he rushed behind the shale, getting ready to tackle it to the ground.

From both sides, Paul and Shawn delivered two powerful kicks to the Shale, and before they could do anything else, it grabbed onto both of their legs, swinging their bodies away.

At that point, Kayden grabbed hoks of the alien, using his strength to tackle it to the ground. However, it was then that the realization hit him that the alien, it was just far too strong for him to even make it budge. With it's superior strength, the shale grabbedhold of the werewolf, lidting him into the air and slamming him into the ground.

Not stopping there, it grabbed Kayden by the neck, and blue energy could beseen moving from its hand towards the neck of the werewolf. It whispered some words, abd an electrifying sensation ran through his whole body, causing him to shake non-stop. He clawed, tryibg to free himself from the firm grasp of the alien, however, it was clear that none of his attacks were working.

Moreover, the more his body was beibg shocked, the more manahis body was using to heal himself.

Despite his large mana reserve as a student, he knew that sooner or later, that he would run out, abd his transformation would come to an end.

"If only i had somesort of skill yhat could work!" Sure, he was able to transform into a werewolf, but other than that, what sort of skill or power did he have that would allow him to have some sort of edge?

He had been at the the academy for months now, abd in the span of those months, he had gone through quite a handful of things. From fighting against his fellow students, to his training at the mystery class divison, and now, he was going head to head with one of Earth's greatest threats.

The alien threw his body up in the air, then bending its knees, it shot up like a rocket right after him. Now above him, the alien clasped both of his hahds together and banged against Kayden's back, sending his bkdy crashibg back down. Then, like a speeding bullet, it shot to the ground, delivering a kick to the already fallen student.

A large crater had formed where the apien had landed, the force of the impact pushing the oygers away. The first obe to move forward was the razor class user, then, with a blazing fist, Riley na forward as well.

Although they knew that they couldn't win the figgt, they all knew there was too much at stake for them to back donw now.

A beam of energy pulsated from the shale's body, pushing them all away once again.

It raised both its hads up and began to chant another spell. It looked like they were all done for, when suddenly, a skeleton had clashed with the alien, using its bony fist, it delivering a punch that send the alien flying in the air, crashing into the very gate of the military academy.

"I can't believe those demons went back on their word!" A man screamed at the top of his lungs, shaking his fist as a visible vein could be seen sticking out from his forehead. It was quite clear that whatever was going on, it wasn't what he expected from all of his hard work.

"After al that negotiating and all the sacrifices we had to make, they go behind their back and attack us?! Do they have no idea how much we have to give up?! Just because we believed that they would actually keep their word!"

The man who was speaking was Fredrick Park, a member of the main board in charge of all of the military academies worldwide. Along with thr others, a meeting had been held between thr board and the shales. After what felt like an eternity of negotiating, it seemed like they had arrived at a mutual understanding, however, after witnessing what was taking place, it was clear to him that wasn't the case at all.

"At least they only sent one of their terrorists. Judging by the way it's beet attacking, i'd say it's still just a grade one shale. This, i should be able to deal with," he said, his gaze shifting towards the giant skeleton yhat had delivered the attack.

"Kill it!" He ordered, his face contorted in anger.

Heeding to the instructions given, the skeleton swung down its fist once again, punching the shale, this time, causing it to spew out blood from its mouth. Not stopping there, it rained down a flurry of punches at the alien, not giving it a chance to attack back.

'What the fuck is going on?' Kayden was shocked witnessing what was taking place. A large sketon had appeared out from nowhere, overpowering the alien that had given thrm all a tough time. Right now, looking at it, he was starting to think whether or not they woild have even managed to land a hit it that was what they had to fight instead.

"General Greyson!" All three of the instructors stood in salute as they greeted the general.

'General?' Kayden wondered. 'Wait, doesn't that mean...?' Just then, a loud bang could be heard. Turning his head, he witnessed a sight he couldn't even bring himself to imagine. The shale had been defeated, lying down in a pool of its own blood, with the large sketon towering over it.

"No way..." Kayden said out loud.

'I'm glad one of them finally came out to help, but still, did it really have to be him? His power, it gives me chills up till today. A mystery class ability, one unlike any other i have ever encountered in my life. His power, taken to the next level through years of experience and hard work. The power, of necromancy,' Lucas thought to himself.
