why was the satanic verses controversial

Why is this novel so expensive? It literally cosr twice as much per chapter verses other novels. Can anyone tell me why? Or is it just authors choice on why its expensive? The price is the only issue i have with this novel.

A satanic ritual, a demonic possession and a thirst for vengeance seems like a very good trio to keep readers hooked. The story is amazing with a strong protagonist and nice world building.

if you make your MC strong why did you even put him to a weak verse just to neft him to they're level when you can just put him to a stronger verses. like a Nerf Jin Mori is a multi continental level a super nerf Jin Mori is large building level. so really he just stronger in weak verses. either you start him weak to strong or just stay true to his power no retarded nerf even in a weak verse is kinda ruining the story.
