Not for me, the MC lacks ambition its just boring, dude spent over a thousand years doing nothing but living in tribes and did not even bother to learn any combat arts until after his first vampire fight. I honestly see no point in putting him this far before canon cuz he's doing nothing with his thousand years beside learning combat arts now and going around healing humans. If someone is this far back I expected some form of legacy being created like a Kingdom or a very strong Clan of descendants but nah its just yapping until canon finally arrives.

LIKEJust to clarify, he spent a thousand years doing nothing basically but going from tribe to tribe and selling stuff and then he met the vampires and decided to learn how to fight, so he spent another thousand years on that. And then for the next thousand years he just goes from civilization to civilization healing humans and continuing to learn combat arts. Thats as far as I got due to the MC being as entertaining as watching paint dry.
Idg, what was he supposed to do? Conquer and create an empire? He is immortal, in reality he should even be taking things very slowly. Having an ambition as an immortal would honestly ruin him more than give him pleasure, cause the moment he achieves that ambition, he is left without a purpose, and that would free l drive him crazy and into madness.
That's why it's a the concept of death ans our limited lifespan is a gift. In our old age, we die with satisfaction and willingly embrace death. But if we couldn't die, what next? find another thing to do? We would eventually accomplish. At the very end of the day, we would be left without a purpose and become a mere living husk.

I assure you bro, if you live for as long as he has there is no way you arent going to branch out to keep your mind occupied, the emotion dampening aside doing the same thing over and over would get boring real fast. Also its a novel its supposed to be entertaining whats fun about watching him go from tribe to tribe for a thousand years doing the same things over and over? If you enjoy this then good for you but I don't.

Watch Sandman on Netflix. The main character has a friend who is immortal. Go ahead and watch what he does.

A man who has lived for over 50,000 years which is 48,000 more years than the MC has lived so I dont know what he is trying to compare here. Regardless Vandal is said to be a conqueror and accomplished in fields of science so he definitely wasnt idle.
Word7:dDon't know who that is. Only reason why I pointed out Sandman was because I liked the show and that there was an immortal man.image
Wait wait wait which side are you on? Was it the "mc lacks ambition side" or "its fine that he's not ambitious". Because for Sandman, the immortal friend took this opportunity to become the best. He didn't laze around. He was also a slave trader at some point for easy cash lol. Definitely ambitious.

Im on the side that the MC is lacking in that department. Its literally the entire reason for my review lol

So... The Koopa has its opinion even if I highly disagree with it.Not every immortal want to conquer worlds if the do stuff, not every mortal like us embraces death at the end, most just accept it because there's no other way, you think people who die in wars are like "at last I'll die for my country"? frick that, they want to go home to their families and show that they had an impact. That's what mister lazy immortal should do, he could've learned the traditions and customs of different tribes, natural healing salves and all that and how to hunt, build and all that.He could take a different persona as time passes and make contributions for the world. He could've been the first pill maker(medicine), the first empire maker during the tribe times, and so many things. He could literally have made his own settlements for those who didn't have a place to go, he could help more than just "let me heal you." and show them how to live, giving himself purpose or whatever.Anyway that's my rant. Sorry about that 😂
After synopsis I ve thought that he don’t want political power and don’t be power in shadows. But ambitionless… Searching for knowledge, developing his own family or building own religion will be much more interesting to read than healing people like Jeasus and learning how to box for 1k years
ngl i would spend 1000 years playing video games while waiting for full dive video games
