Kinda mid. Description kinda made me think this will have like a psycho mc, but it's one of these where mc turns kinda good right after reincarnation. At least there is no romance. Revenge plot is kinda overused. And the vow he makes is cringe. Despite what I said, since webnovel is the garbage dump of novels, this can be considered above average.

LIKEPsycho as a general term, I think it said he was a serial killer. I thought it would be more like what if someone like that got a "tool" like chakra at his disposal while remaining a serial killer or whatever the description said.
He was one(and he won't stop killing ppl anytime soon), but his entire personality doesn't revolve around killing :)) If it did, then it would be just boring.
I wouldn't call shinobis serial killers, neither would I call someone who is out for revenge a serial killer. However, there is a way to make a novel about killing interesting. It would have to be like hitman, with a bunch of plans and plots how to kill very powerful (literally or because they're influential and/or have bodyguards). What I was also referring to was the vow he made. Serial killers sometimes pick their targets based on certain characteristics, like a fetish, but for killing. I would have also been interested in reading about that. And just because he would be killing random people doesn't mean he wouldn't be doing anything else besides that. All in all, I expected his killing to be more proactive, not reactionary.
very powerful people*
To be fair, I also don't think all Shinobi are serial killers, just some of them. :)) The vow the MC made is to not become a serial killer again basically, he won't indulge in his desires as uncaringly as in his past life. I think you'd really enjoy the Hitman game series :)) But I don't know how good that would be for a story premise. Regardless, this is more about taste than anything. I can't currently think of a story with a similar premise, so I unfortunately can't give any recommendations rn :(
Shinobis' job is to kill, just like an assassin's. I wouldn't call assassins serial killers. That is what I meant. I've played the hitman games a bit, but my pc couldn't run them almost at all. At this point i'd be more interested in a hitman-like book/novel than actually playing the game.
Well, a hitman book/novel would be interesting, but it would also be exceedingly difficult. Hitman thrives in being an episodic type of game/story, with engaging missions, scenarios and 'villains'/targets to take down. It would be hard to have both that and a main cast with enough depth for a story to actually have any substance :)) Regardless, I'll let you know if I find anything, cuz now I'm also curious if it's been done.
A main cast of one person is enough for me. Also works if he has someone else inside his head, whether it be some other soul or personality.
well yeh but a hitman isnt normally a manic person which i think is what the dude before is refering to because taking life is only hard if you have alot of empathy. and this novel does involve killing like you do when you talk about profetional killers. also a serial killer just means theyve killed mor ethen three people, reasons aside. though the "it was fun" excuse probably wont get you much of a reduced sentance.
This conversation was too far in the past for me to remember or care, so I can't really respond.
You should just make an edit that the reincarnation essentially fixed his priorly very dysfunctional and mentally ill brain as he didn't have the same upbringing in his reincarnation
That's all already implied in the story itself, it's not even that upbringing changed his mind, he just repented on his own before he even died. Upbringing just gave him a new appreciation for life. It just feels redundant to do something like that.
oh I hadn't started reading the story yet, lol. But I still kinda like my idea better where the reincarnation fixes his warped perception due to the healthy new mind he inherits
I am going to have to politely disagree, Calling this fanfiction "mid" is fundamentally misunderstanding of what good writing is. And judging by what you are critiquing the fanfiction about, you don't know what you are talking about. Is "Revenge plot is kinda overused" really the best critique you can come up with? Or is there some better reason you have? Seriously, I am curious, Is there a better reason? Please give me some insight.
The review was from 9 months ago, I don't remember much about this novel. I do believe it slightly misled me.
A serial killer most def wouldn’t change their minds after a rebirth tho😂 I mean they’re psychopaths lol how could their be a fix for it
