I couldn’t bear it. I forced myself to read as far as possible because of the author and other reviews’ assurance that everything would be everything would be explained around ch 80 but i could barely make it to ch 43. I just hate janus (the system) with a passion. I liked most of everything else (the only female interaction that i liked was the stab victim and ive only seen her once so far). And the male characters also dont seem to be treated well. But the concept seemed extremely interesting and i was curious to see what the true story behind what happened was. I really really wanted to reach the part where everyone says it gets good but I practically had to force most the chapters down. If i have to struggle through 80 chapters just to get to the good part then i cant say this is a particularly attractive novel. So i have to drop it. Maybe someone with more perseverance and willpower will make it through and reach the goal, that person might actually find a really good story at the end of that road. Unluckily that wont be me.

LIKEThank you for the review. I understand that this story is not for everyone if you had to force yourself because you didn't like the system. But that's what evokes emotions. I hate the female character in tower of God. Not just me, 90 percent of the populace that reads it hates that, but people still like the story. But I do agree that not everything is for everyone :)
Have my like

nope I drop that s*** because of that b**** Rachel. in fact that b**** is the only female character I dislike more then Sakura from Naruto.

I understand that .it's why I said that not everything is for everyone since tower of god is still at the top. they just pushed Rachel a little too much in the second half which could've been handled a different way certainly

The thing with rachelle is though is that the author setted it up to let the audience hate her, I think if the authors intentions hit with the author reactions then I think its a success for the author. As for this, I'm not sure if the author intended to let everyone hate the system, but seems to me its not, if so then I think its more of a flaw of the author or its just the reader saw some perspective that the author couldnt see or the majority.

But making a character hateable is one of the easiest things. The author just gave her a ultra plot armor of cliches and made the main character a baby. People hate the mc more than they hate rachel. There is a limit to being sensitive or dense, if you exceed that, the character becomes retarded. And the author of tower of god far exceeded that. i can already tell the last boss is rachel somehow being as powerful as the mc by sheer plot armor, or the mc forgiving her and them being friends again, or any other already done hundreds of times cliches. typical childrens' book.

i havent read tower of god and I dont plan to. It's easy to make a character hateable? that depends. To be honest though, it takes build up (because authors get attached to the characters that they want every character to be happy with each other), some twists to make a character hateable (it takes some sacrifice for wishfullfilment if you want a character that you can get fond of to go the evil route), if you grow to hate a character then that means the author had done his job well if thats what he intended. Regarding the mc, ye he was naive in the season 1 but he had an infant's mind, he literally had no one and though of her as a mother. Not sure where you took the idea that they will become friends again since the comics is not done yet, but I hope that wont be the ending.

To make a character hateable, here's what you gonna do: Mc and friend were bestest of friends, nobody can split them! Oh? Something that can be good for the friend appears! Oh no! That thing seems to be for the mc and not the friend! Friend gets frustrated and envious and betrays mc by stabbing them in the back in a hateable way, like leaving them wounded or stealing their girlfriend/boyfriend or starting rumors about them. Hmm, would you look at that, this is a bad person! Therefore I hate them! Now you make this with a little more mature language and thats how you make a hateable person. Btw the mc was still like a mentally disabled infant last time I checked. And I read that thing in hopes of mc actually starting to be normal, he didn't.

Its looks easy now because this genre is overdone and have been sought for and you have seen it couple of times, but last time, most authors dont have the balls to let some side character go astray for wishfullfilment and keeping the story light hearted. Especially Naruto for example has turned frustrating because of this. But some others like Berserk did it well. Regarding TOG its somewhere in the middle. Though, I wonder whose accounts are yours, with only 2 comments and created just recently.

Did you even read tog at all? (SPOILER) Baam already stopped caring about Rachel long ago, she is still a character but he doesn't care what she does or how, and he also said that if she were to go against him or his friends he will kill her if it comes to it. Rachel is still a main character but she isn't and was never going to be the 'ultimate' enemy, there is not always an ultimate enemy in every novel. You probably got your mind clouded by reading too many xianxia where everything is the exact same, and now you have the illusion that now you can predict the outcomes of novels. In TOG no one hates Baam, you probably didn't read past season 1-2, that's why you are saying that. Go back to reading xianxia with loli goddess, young masters and jade beauty. That suits you more.

yeah but rachel isn't there in almost every part of the story, while the system basically is, your example is horribly flawed

No. system isn't in every part of story. neither my mc talks to system in every Chapter not he gets mission in every chapter. Not even close to that. in fact, it's much rarer

This is a yikes take. It's like order a cake, eating just the frosting, then saying "yuck, I hated it!"
