I really hate how future fallout lore completely blundered the BOS. like Fallout 1 and 2 had layered reasons for their existence. most of which was sharing the tech that they had 'saved' for the betterment all of survivors (shady springs benefited tons). While Fallout New Vegas at least demonstrated similar development, they still had this weird isolation strategy. Basically, Veronica was the only one without their head in the ground. I loved the idea that BOS was collecting tech for the sole purpose of maintaining it and benefiting the wasteland and its people. Now they are just weird techno Fascists who are simultaneously ludite barbarians who don't actually understand the tech they are stealing/repatriating
