I guess that it’s not that they don’t know, rather, they don’t believe that there’s someone that can live this long, they instead think that it’s sucessors and inheritors of the previous one.
Historian job is to write what they see and heard. A "King" that have each sucessors that have the same face should still had been written down. even if its true that a historian don't believe it, some people will still write that down, especially the King's peoples. talks and legends should had been passed down. even insignificant person had been written in history as long as they are part of a "Big Picture" or Major event. Well it's a fanfic why think realistically right? novel still have a good concept, which i like.

THIS IS WRITTEN: under the context of Sypnosis. i don't know if he will be identified as an emperor by someone or not. maybe someone did written his face in history books as an emperor and a great martial artist. as the MC goal is to live in society where i presume, without someone identifying him. Give the novel a go and find out.
