An Encounter With An Inventor

We slowly continued to make our way through the New World. We weren't quite in a hurry as some islands had some rather beautiful landscapes that we had to stop by and admire. They were all apart of Whitebeard's territory so it was fine. However, the pirates that were using those islands as bases didn't think otherwise.

"Why are you here?! Whitebeard is near G-1! So, why?!" One of the pirates who were living on the camp asked.

I never really gave him an explaination. Well, if you count lopping his head off as an explaination. Soon the camp was filled with nothing but dead bodies. I had left their ship intact as a way to ward off other pirates from settling within the island. However, that wasn't really what had concerned me at that point of time.

What had truly concerned me was the fact that pirates like him knew where Whitebeard was located like they could track it from the back of their hand. Although nothing bad has come out of it, it does raise concerns on how they are able to keep tabs on him. I decided to ask Whitebeard later on when I saw him, and went back to my ship.

Speaking of which, this ship had slowly began to show signs of aging, it wasn't anything concerning; but it was a clear sign that some maintenance was required for it. It was a ship that was gifted to us by Pops, so I really didn't want to throw the ship away. Soon, I would need to repay Water 7 a visit to fix this ship right back to its old self. That, however, was a story for another day.

Even after raiding those pirates who were camping in our territory. There still wasn't enough resources that we could live off of for a couple of more weeks on the ship. As a result, we started to make our way to a nearby island so we could resupply. On the way there, we had started to note faint debrees of a ship.

Either a storm had happened, or someone had wrecked this ship. The conclusion that was drawn out only made us more weary as we kept nearing an island at the edge of the horizon. I couldn't feel anything that would tell us that there was a storm that had happened here, Meaning that there was somebody who had attacked this ship.

I warned my crew to be on the lookout for both pirate and Marine ships as we got closer and closer to the Island. Sitting on my couch with Stussy, I spread my Observation haki to its limits. My haki managed to cover the entire island along with a little distance from it southernwise. I could detect an obvious abundance of human life. However, I really couldn't detect any pirate or Marine presence. 'What had happened to that ship? A sea king attack?' I could only ponder as we got closer to the town that could be seen in the distance.

I focused my eyes on the town's docks to see any recognizable ships. However, there were only merchant ships nearby and some fishing boats for the fisherman. My theory of sea kings attacking the ship was getting more and more plausable as we finally docked our ship near the town. The town's name was called Selen, and it was an Island that wasn't too far off from Whitebeard's territory. However, we never really decided to claim it because we had always assumed that Big Mom would have been the one to take control over it.

I looked around to see if there were any Jolly Rogers within the town. Sure enough, I could see a jolly roger of a skull with two swords crossed behind it and with make up on its face. It had seemed that my prediction was right, this was Big Mom's territory. However, the question remained lingering on my head. 'What happened to the ship?' Curiously thinking this, i decided to ask the townfolk about what had happened to it when I stumbled on a short man with a big head.

Well, to be frank, big was an understatement. His head was huge, it made up like three quarters of his body. His tounge was always out underneath that black mustache. Moreover, he wore glasses and a long white coat to boot. Normally, his attire would present him as a doctor that lived within the town with a disease because of his large head.

However, my thoughts laid otherwise as Stussy gasped in excitement and leaped at the man.

" Dr. Vegapunk! I haven't heard from you for ages!!" Stussy exclaimed excitedly.

Dr. Vegapunk, who was shocked at the brief bump-in he had with me along with the sudden bear hug that Stussy gave him. It took a while before we all settled down and got back on the ship. I decided that we would stay here for a bit just for Stussy. She seemed to be rather very familiar with Vegapunk. It kind of reminded me of a daughter with her father.

Dr. Vegapunk on the other hand, seemed to be a rather analytical individual. He took one look at me, and promptly started performing all kinds of tests on me.

"Although you have dark skin and white hair. You don't seem to be Lunarian. Who are you? What are you, to be more exact." Vegapunk asked as he started circling me. It felt like he was analysing every nook and cranny within my body. A feeling I did NOT enjoy.

"Dr. Vegapunk, I'd like to introduce you two!" Stussy announced excitedly, cutting Vegapunk off.

Stussy had been strangely energetic from the moment that she had met him. It was weird seeing this side of her come out so abruptly.

"Dr. Vegapunk, this is Boris. I have been with him for the past couple of years," She promptly began the introductions.

"And Boris, this is Dr. Vegapunk, he is a father figure of sorts to me and I hadn't seen him for a long time; let alone contact him."

Dr. Vegapunk and I shook each others hands promptly after, Vegapunk seemed happy to meet me. Whereas I kind of felt kind of dissapointing, Dr. Vegapunk had only been introduced in the anime as a mysterious figure who created random contraptions that would prove to be a great asset to the World Government. After all, he had a whole Admiral that was looking after his needs, or so the fan fiction websites said.

I had expected him to be some sort of mad scientist who thirsted for power and was only using the World Government to make ends meet. However, the man before me was the exact opposite of what I had envisioned of him. It was kind of a let-down to be honest. However, this didn't really lower my opinion of the man. He seemed to be a kind hearted individual, judging from the way he was treating Stussy. I decided to keep silent and listen in to what Stussy and Vegapunk were talking about. It was then I heard something that made my mind blank for a bit.

"So, Stussy, when were you going to tell Boris that you were a clone?"

I'm getting mad sleepy right now.

I'll take a quick nap before dropping some more chapters later.

Love y'all!!!
