Powerful opponents

As Li Tian moved through the forest, he was no longer interested in hunting any beasts and just went around watching other people fight and as he did he started hearing news of the powerful geniuses who have appeared in this year's exam. 

It is said that the talent this year is unlike any other and as this rumours spread amongst the participants who had formed different groups, he started hearing names and the ones he took note of the most were the descendants of ancient cultivation clans. It is said that these powerful competitors were already at the xiantian realm. The xiantian realm was a very important realm in the journey of every cultivator as it is in this realm that you come into contact with Qi and start using abilities beyond human capabilities. This realm was divided into four stages which were;

The Qi sensing realm, in this realm one begins to feel the presence of the Qi found between heaven and earth and as you sense the spiritual Qi draw it into your body. It is further divided into three small realms of low, mid and high Qi sensing representing the amount of Qi you can pull into the body.

The Qi refinement realm, at this realm you open a space in the body known as the dantian and located just below the navel. At the Qi refinement realm you refine the Qi absorbed and then store it in the dantian. The Qi is in a gaseous state and stays in the dantian in the form of mist. This realm is further divided into low, mid and high levels. At the high Qi refinement realm the dantian is filled to the brim and you can now break through to the Qi manifestation realm.

The Qi manifestation is also divided into low, mid and high levels. At this realm you are able to pull the Qi from your body and manifest it out of your body for wonderful uses. Using this manifested Qi gives you the ability to attack enemies at long distances. The different stages of the Qi manifestation realm represents the control over one's spirit Qi and at the high level one has one hundred percent control over his Qi.

The peak xiantian realm, further divided into two small realms. The half-state and the complete state. At the peak xiantian realm one starts to compress the Qi in the dantian till it turns to liquid. The different stages represents the level o conversion and once one has complete conversion they are ready to lay a foundation and breakthrough to foundation realm.

The news that the geniuses of the cultivation clans were all in the xiantian realm took Li Tian by surprise. The most renowned names Li Tian heard of were Li Mei, Zhang Wei and lin An.

It is said that Li Mei is from the ancient Li clan and like all members of that clan she inherited the bloodline of fire and her ability to control fire was unique even within the clan. A once in a generation genius born with the bloodline of the fire lark. She was at the high level of Qi sensing realm and was sure to soon breakthrough.

There was Zhang Wei born with the bloodline of the storm flood dragon. Very gifted youth even within his clan who prided themselves as descendants of the dragon. He too was at high level Qi sensing realm.

Lin An, was the most mysterious amongst them as no one actually knew the limits of his abilities. All they knew was that he had already surpassed the Qi sensing realm and for the abilities he possessed, no one knew.

Li Tian was very surprised by the different information he got and knew that he had to keep an eye out for such individuals and be careful how he dealt with them.

Soon however he was not given the opportunity to think further as before him was a giant lizard, this lizard was green in colour and had shining scales and just from his point of view Li Tian knew they offered quite a powerful defender. This lizard was two metres tall and five metres long and from its imposing manner Li Tian was sure this creature was surely at the peak of rank two, comparable to xiantian peak stage.

He felt like he was surrounded by death as the air grew still. He knew from the estimate of the beast he had killed so far that even the three they were specifically warned of were only at high level Qi sensing. So it terrified him how such a beast appeared infront of him.

As Li Tian was observing the lizard, it was also looking at him with a confused gaze.

When Li Tian heard this notification it did not bring him joy for he knew there was no way he could defeat the enemy standing before him. As he was still thinking of what to do and wondering how the school could let such a terrifying beast into the safe zone it did not give him time to think and moved very fast. It ran head first into Li Tian and Li Tian did not even have the time to react not to talk of dodging. The impact sent him flying and after tumbling a few times he got up but rather than fighting he turned around and fled. 

But his speed could not compare to the lizard and soon a claw descended upon him. As it scrape past his back he was wounded. In his anger Li Tian turned and used his dragon claw technique. To his surprise he got the creature in the eye. At blood spurted from the damaged eye Li Tian realised how close he was to death. If he had not turned exactly when he did he would have been bitten to death by the beast and luckily for him the face of the beast was at its weakest state of defence. 

Roar!

The beast roared in pain of its lost eye and its other eye looked at Li tian with hatred. How could such an ant have wounded it?

As Li Tian understood that continuing to run will only lead to him dying faster he decided to take a stand and unleashed his dragon claw technique to the fullest of his ability.
