Based on what I've read, you may want to breathe a little more life into your characters. They are what makes a story a story. Twists and turns also keep readers interested. Overall it originally sounded captivating, but more work needs to be put into defining your overarching goal. Work on your character's personalities, and how they interact with other people. This is what makes it all feel real.
