Lunars POV
I was walking down the street like I usually do, to pick up some bread. We run out quite often, and the others are usually too busy to go get a new loaf. I hear a familiar voice from behind me. "Hey! Luna!" I turn to see Athena. Athena is my siren friend, she isn't allowed to use her powers for legal reasons, but a lot of people just don't speak to her. She has thick black hair, with brown highlights, always wears a light green crop top, black pants white, a strange belt, and giant light green boots.
"Hey! You also about to head over to the store?" She nods, and we start walking off. "So how was it last night? Was he acting strange again?" Athena was the only person I had told about Felix acting weird. She was also the only non-family member that knew about my job, well, aside from Felix. "A bit strange, he's been weirder before, though." I explain about the flower and pick-up-line, and she starts laughing. I ask her what's wrong. "You don't think he has a crush on you, does he?" I stare off into the distance. Does he though? This might get weird.
We start talking about school, we were currently experiencing a "student free week" , then we'd be going back into 11th grade. It was mid-August, Her birthday was coming up soon, Right now it was the 12th, her birthday is the 27th. We weren't throwing a massive party or anything, We were both just gonna go down to the lake, where her parents were. It was a siren tradition or something, But I was allowed to come along, since I was her friend/plus one for the ceremony. It was so exciting to look forward to, I can't wait.
Just as we were supposed to walk into the store, she just stops in her place. I look at her with confusion, and look at whom/what she was looking at. It was another girl, about a year older than us. I smirk. "Crush?" I've known she was a lesbian for quite a while, she never had a crush on me, of course, but I've seen the way she's looked at some other girls. "Shut up Luna", We both laugh. We walk into the store and both get what we need. We both walk out, I see her holding a whole bag of oranges.
"Oranges?" I question. That was a strange sight to see from anyone. Why oranges? "Ceremonial thing." I couldn't help but giggle. Such a strange ceremony, but whatever, must just be a siren thing. We walk home, to find nobody there. Amara and Summer must've already left to do something. We sit in our library-room-area, and talk some more about school work. I wasn't all that great in Math, I mean I got B's, but I was aiming for A's, so Athena was gonna help tutor me or something. We looked through our maths program, looking into Algebra and Quadratic equations again, great.
It was really boring, we both agreed, and just went downstairs to play a movie. "Hey, do you still remember how to make those sugar cookies from when we were like, 9?" I look over at her and stare into space for a moment. "Kind of? I think the recipes in one of these counters...here!" I look down at the recipe, It seems like a lot of sugar, but I can make an exception for this, it's sentimental. We start making the cookies, and putting on "The Hunger Games : Catching Fire", in which we both cried for a lot of the movie.
I hear someone opening the door, Amara. "Hey! Want a cookie? We're making the Sugar cookies from back when Athena and I were kids again." She nods, and looks over at Athena "Hey" they wave at each other. They don't know each other well, Athena doesn't come over often, maybe once or twice a month. Anyways, we finish the cookies, and I go to watch the movie, whilst Athena puts the icing on each cookie. Jeez, this trequal, is sad. I walk over to see the cookies, all layed out, spelling "A and L" I hug Athena.
Felix was for sure my best friend, I only met Athena about 4 or 5 years after I met him, but it can be so fun to hang out with her. She's special, you know? She doesn't just break all the rules and annoy everyone, but she still knows how to have fun. There's not many people like that. She had to leave, but she got to take half the cookies with her since she helped make them. I check the time, it was about 4 pm, I scroll through my music library to check for any new songs, and download a new one.
It was called "The hanging tree", from The Hunger games. I loved the song so much, I couldn't stop listening. I check my notes for math, then once I knew there was nothing else to be done, I start walking to the cafe. I have a part-time job there, I don't really need the money, it's just nice to have some pocket change. I put on my apron and walk up to a few different customers for their orders. I notice that there no performer here yet to play songs for the customers. It's oddly quiet, gotta break the silence.
I start singing what I knew of "No tears left to cry" By Ariana Grande, I'm not the greatest singer, most people aren't afraid to say Amara is, but It's better than having absolute silence. My manager must have heard, and she told me to shut up. I rest my arms on-top of the display case and smile. "Jackie isn't here yet." Jackie is the performer, though we don't talk much. She sighs and I get back to serving food. Jeez, it can get really boring, sometimes, without anyone performing, the atmosphere is really bland.

Dear Diary,
Today was... eventful... to say the least. I was told my "task at hand" today during breakfast, but i'm not the least bit happy with it. Apparently during the dance someone dressed up as the same person I was and was caught on camera kissing Brea's crush, Andy, who supposedly Alex's twin and rival for something I have no idea. But part of that rivalry is in the romance area, and he told me i had to pretend to be his girlfriend. It will get me out of this gossip ring and push him closer to wining whatever competition they have. Why, diary, why?

Today is going to be the first order of business. Getting used to the house. By playing hide and seek. And the limit? None. I didn't even get the courtesy of hiding first. I had to find HIM. In a house with three floors. Might as well call this mission impossible.

I started at the bottom, near the living room and kitchen. I searched EVERYWHERE. Literally everywhere. Soooo I moved on to the second floor. Doors, doors, and more doors. Yay.

Still no sign of him. It's been a whole hour. I just gave up and started to make lunch ( I might have thought that he would be in the oven...) and STILL no progress on ideas or noise. So i turned on some TV. Maybe next time we play he'll let me hide first...

-2 Update- 
He has been found. well... he found me. I was watching Hunger Games, my favorite movie ever, when he reached over the couch and scared the crap out of me. I looked over my shoulder at him and he was smiling like the Cheshire Cat. I asked where he had been and he said in his room, the one place i'm not allowed to go. 
" That's not fair!" I pouted.
" Hey, I said no limits didn't I?" He smirked.
I was speechless. That little cheater...
He hoped over the couch, put his arm over my shoulder, pulled me to him, and started to watch the movie with me. 
" I love this movie too" He said. We stayed in the silence after that until the movie ended. 
" Should we watch the next one?" I asked
His face flushed and he looked away but said I needed to sleep. But since he made no move to get up I decided to play with him a little. I made a move to get up but instead threw my feet up and layed down in his lap. His face was priceless! He went beet red but just let me stay.
" Night Alex." I said. He patted my head and watched me sleep through the night. But i woke up in my bed this morning with a note on the nightstand saying I forgot to wright in here. Well, he knows my habits I guess. Anyways talk to you tonight Diary! Bye!

"What do you hope to accomplish?" asked her father.
"I hope to set a standard that no one can live by." Said Rema. "I ask only for the power of God to help me through it."

"Everyone to the town square." Said the speakers.
 
            Rema got up and solemnly went to the town square followed by her mother and father. Her six siblings tailed along behind them.
            The town square was filled, and the colorful buildings were kept hidden by big bland bannisters. The speaker talked about new Panem and the Capitol's place in it.
            "Rema all you do is think about other people outside this family. Please, give a second to think about us. We are your family and we love you." Said Rema's mother.
            "Mom you cannot stop me. I'm obliged to do this."
            "Think about this, please Rema. I do everything to keep you safe and you're doing this to your own father." Said her father.
            "You have done a great job dad, but can't you see you kept me safe just to get to this point." Said Rema.
            "Your going to be the oldest sibling now." She told her younger brother. "Remember to not be overprotective." Said Rema.
            "That's exactly what I'm going to be Rema. You're doing this to all of us. I don't want one of my other siblings to die. You want Mother and father to go through this?" said her brother.
            "I'm doing this for how we will be remembered. So, whenever the future citizens of New Panem think of the last hunger games, They will think of me…" said Rema.
            Slowly a man from district 13 appeared in his purplish-blue outfit. Rema didn't waste any time. "Excuse me," she said. "You have a volunteer."
            
 
 
 
 
Hummings
 
 
            Hummings, the human experiment, was on the street lazily drinking some whiskey and smoking a cigarette. The smoking age was 12 in the capitol, so was the drinking age. But you weren't allowed to drink in the street. So He had his in a brown paper bag. Tigra was there too. She was leaning back on the railing of the building.
            "Let me have some of that?" she said.
            Hummings waggled his finger at her. She was only nine years old.
            "Come on give me something to drink and I'll tell you something." Smiled Tigra.
            Hummings just shrugged his shoulders and gave it to her.
            "fine" he said as she grasped it.
            She took a swig and wobbled. "Your not going to believe this" she said.
            "What?" asked Hummings.
            "You are in the ballots for the hunger games." She said.
            There was a pause after she said that. Then the conversation went on.
            "Can you believe it… that you are in the hunger games? You an orphan?" she asked.
            At first Hummings mind went to all the atrocities the capitol had commited. Then He thought of all the delicacies he had eaten every day. Of all the finer things he had enjoyed. But then his suffering flared up in his heart How his body wasn't normal. He couldn't remember his parents. And how he was treated as a lab rat. "That's horrible." He said. ���We are orphans."
            "I know" said Tigra.
            All of the other districts were celebrating at this time. You could see it all over the news. In the districts, Parades were in the street.
            "Now has come the time to decide were your loyalties lie." said Tigra.
            "Because I spied on the elites. They said the war isn't over quite yet."
            Just the idea that he might be up for the hunger games, shocked Hummings. He didn't know how to feel. Sure he had eaten and drunk his fair share, but he had also been experimented on. Where did his loyalties lie?
            For once Tigra wasn't her cunning self. She was a normal girl. In other words her real age was showing itself. "The Capitol's not that bad right?" she asked, trying to be cheerful.
 
            "Attention everyone!"

Announced the street speakers. 

"Everyone to the town square." Said the speakers.
 
            The call of death knew Hummings.
            Slowly the public turned to the stage marching. This time with a bone to pick. When Hummings arrived, the district thirteen people were already there.
            One girl was yelling: "We are the people of Panem and you are the servants recognize your place."
            There were signs too. "Panem doesn't recognize you." Said one. "Snow is the only ruler of Panem." Said another. "The Capitol is not yet finished." Said yet another. Some signs were almost irrelevant.
            "The time has come to choose lots." Said the speaker of the district 13 people.
            Hummings stood quietly wishing he could ball up in some sort of cornor.
            The speaker put his hand in the pot.
            The speaker whisked his hand inside the glass jar before pulling out the slip of paper that would seal Hummings fate.
            Hummings cried when it was read aloud. "Hummings Tralala"
            The words began to curve his spin. He bent downwards like he was Mr. Hyde. It's weird that sort of pressure. It can make a person do strange things.
            When he was told to come to the stage. He began to wobble. It became hard to stand up straight.
            "Well Hummings" asked the speaker as he approached the stage. "What do you have to say for yourself?"
            Hummings couldn't help but spit as he said "All this bloodshed and for what…" He asked as he crouched in a stupor.
            
            He looked back at himself once he was behind the curtain with Tigra. The rebels kept replaying him on stage. He looked like some sort of freak which hurt him especially with his morphed body. He was spitting and cursing on stage.
            He cried while Tigra coddled him.
 
 
 
 
 


Hyro
 
            Hyro was scared for his life. They were going to put the good people of the Capitol in the hunger games! He thought.
            You cannot punish the judge, thought Hyro. That's a good one!
            His friend was sitting right next to him they were watching The crème de la crème. It was a chef show and one of the few programs still running, everything else was on hiatus.
            "You know how the districts are fucking up?" asked Hyro.
            "Kinda…" said his friend timidly.
            "You cannot punish the judge!" said Hyro.
            "That's a good one!" his friend reconfirmed.
            "It's almost time…" said Hyro's mother sadly.
            "yeah, hehehehe" piped Hyro's friend while shaking.
            Hyro just held his head down.
            
"Attention everyone!"

"Everyone to the town square." Said the speakers.
 
            Hyro shook. Why were they doing this to the good people of the Capitol? He wondered. It was just like the movie Dill and the Districts. Where good wholesome Dill visits the districts, and they take turns ruining him.
            Hyro began to slowly tread out the door to the city square. He remembered the newscast where the rebels said that making people fight for their lives is an evil thing to do. That's pure twist Hyro thought. It was a punishment for rebelling against the Capitol. You could put a man in prison for no reason that would be wrong, but if he did something wrong that's different. The districts did something wrong that is why they were suffering for it. There was a reason you had to forfeit the lives of your children… But that was beginning to feel wrong to Hyro. But he dismissed his guilt with a thought: They are just bad people. The people in the districts are just bad people…
            As he made his way to the town square he walked next to the angry masses. New Panem was becoming worried about the masses fighting back, so they had escorts. People were yelling insults at them as they were pushed forward.
            Once they arrived in the town square; they had become a rabble, lashing out at every push and pushing forward to lash out.
            Once they finally arrived at the town square the crowd had become obnoxious. The speaker came forward.
 
            "attention everyone!"  he announced. "Attention everyone."
            "It is time for justice to be dispensed." He finished.
            But before he could finnish an elderly woman pulled out a little secret she had been caring with her, a microphone. "Hey you upjumped villain." She said "Here in the Capitol we believe in freedom of speech so you going to hear it from us." Said the elderly woman.         
            But just as she rudely interrupted the speaker, she was interrupted as well with a bullet to the head. It all took place near Hyro.
            The microphone was successively taken by a person near the former holder until it was ended with a crack and a cock.
            Finally, the microphone ended up near Hyro who thought his opinion was worth his death.
            Hyro picked up the microphone. "Capitol citizens" said Hyro. "No one has suffered like we have suffered. The Capitol's children have rebelled against the order of Panem.
            The sniper aimed but couldn't get a good shot at Hyro.
            Hyro spoke with a speech that was both extremely annoying to the people from the districts and very entertaining.
            "Alright than come to the stage, young one." Said the speaker.
