200 years ago man created the greatest AI known but this Machine eventually grew a mind of its own and evetually it's own body, it rose up with others like it against the human race this battle went on for about 20 years and nature and most resources were dieing off cause of the continuing battles but the final battle it released a large blast but is wasn't a bomb it was something else entirely, the machines had something hidden down their main base, something that wasn't human or machine something not of this earth, the blast brought back nature it changed it along with the humans and Machines closes to the blast.....both of them went a evolution of some sorts and because of this both sides where able to form a peace ending the war



Lia Giles became a border guard and mechanic for the power lines on the in between of the main city and the unearthly forests, no longer being able to stand living in the high technology world where humans are treated like second class citizens. A grandpa who doesn't have long to live(?) found an interest in the newest VRMMO introduced by his grandson and the definition of the mage needed to be rewritten after that.

In the wide basement, Lady Jessica was fiddling with bottles field with viscous liquids. Her creepy smile created the weird vibe of the crazy scientist's lab. Time to time she was stupidly giggling and saying: "excellent, excellent!" - while shaking the glasses.

"Oh, the Lady has some skills" The creature inside the boy talked to itself. 

"To distill and blend that many blood essences of different demonic beasts! We are quite lucky, little fella. With such good care, you would be able to awaken me quite fast. Gosh just imagining all these years I'll have to spend talking to myself and just observing drives me crazy already! " Black mass wriggled inside Paul. 

"These essences will be added to the everyday ration." She said with a satisfied tone.

"Now for the bathing routine" After putting the glasses with green and red liquids aside, she went for the next item on the menu.

"Hm, improving his skin toughness now will decrease the absorption speed in the future, so that's a no go. Boy, let's increase elasticity first, I bet our boy will grow very fast and we don't want to leave scars on his body." Lifting the bottles she kept mumbling something incomprehensible.

"Speaking of scars, let's improve cell sustainability. He'll get a hard time being ripped if he will get those cells packed up with energy, but who cares if he will be strong and have demonic stamina." She lifted some package and frowned.

"Great mother of gods! Huh, why I didn't think of it? We can alter his genes a bit so he would be able to absorb more nutrients and if we are at that, maybe let him absorb some of them through his skin?" She laughed crazily.

"But what about toxins? He will bypass the liver and kidneys this way. Why not alter him the way he could store toxins away and use them? Or absorb them directly?" Jessica started speaking faster and faster and her speech was becoming less and less coherent. Then she froze and turned silent for a minute.

"Why is it so hard to make a decision when it comes to my own child? Too many ways to go and so hard to chose. Should I make him a humanoid monster or shall I let him live a more normal life?" as Bene put the ingredients down she sat directly on the table.

"I want my child to live a wonderful carefree life, but how can he get it without enough strength? I want him to love and be loved, but how can he attain love while being a monster? But what is the exact definition of monstrosity? " As Jessica was speaking the resolve in her eyes was hardening and temperature in the room dropped. Finally, icy needles formed in her irises and she sat properly on the chair, taking a lot of papers from under the table. 

"My child deserves to be the best, let's take the blood skin and bone samples first. After checking his affinities we'll develop the best plan to push forward." She covered her hand and scalpel with thin ice layer, then she added an extra sharp edge to the scalpel. Then she cooled down the portion of skin on Pauls' chest.

"Sorry, boy, it may hurt a bit." She smiled apologetically, as the thin cut was made on kids chest, then she made two more cuts and took the portion of skin and muscle out, afterward she landed her eyes on now visible bones.

"God, I swear, this would hurt like hell, but my child shall be accustomed to this feeling cause pain is the only way to the true strength." As she firmed her resolve, Jessica hastily froze the rib, and cut the portion of it out, then she took the bone marrow out. Only then Paul started screaming.

"Believe me, little Paul, mom loves you the most. After your daddy ofcourse." Bene Jessica smiled wryly as she was patching the cut up. She poured some liquids directly into the wound, then pushed some mushy thing into the bone, afterwards she added a few more layers of strange ingredients onto the lesion, before pulling Pauls skin a bit and creating ice clips holding everything together.

"See? It's all good now." She muttered with obvious satisfaction.

"Oh Great Budha and seven sluts, your mother is goddamn crazy!" Black mass in the boys' soul was moving erratically

"To put demonic marrow inside the little child's body? What is she trying to create? Now I really wonder if we are blessed or cursed with this Franky's bride of a mother." The creature sounded very nervous but no one could hear it.

"Now that demonic wolverines bone marrow is in, Paul will get improved regeneration powers. Not something to monstrous so, just about two times of a normal human boost. It could be improved so, but I wonder if anyone would be crazy enough to damage themselves time after time again." As if answering Jessica chuckled.

After sorting the samples Jessica raised the now calmed boy and put him into some kind of child' bathtub. Gently laying the kid down, she first poured in warm water, waited a bit and then added red smelly liquid. Bubbles started to appear on the Pauls skin, scar on the chest was closing up so fast it could be seen by the eye. Noting that everything went well and there were no abruptions or rejections of foreign matter, she added some pale green jelly, which melted upon the contact with the water, creating some greyish smoke. Not waiting a second she sprinkled greenish-black powder inside the tube, instantly the smoke curled down and started to flow into the boy through his viscera. 

As if feeling that this smoke would be highly beneficial, Paul inhaled deeply and held his breath. Truth to be told it was not Pauls natural reaction, but the mixture of drugs that made him do it. Inside Pauls' lungs, black smoke billowed. Some strange blackish red mushrooms with white spots started to grow. Jessica started to cool the kid down, to slow his blood flow and let him better fight the asphyxia. 

After half an hour pinkish white and yellow sprouts began to grow on the mushrooms heads like a reversed umbrella they grew upside each forming some tall goblet like figures out of the tissue. At first, the black smoke started to faint, but it was just the black color in it, the smoke started to stratify into red, orange and pale cyan stripes. When the smoke fully reformed red layer touched the goblet like tissue as if waiting for it great suction force started to gush out of the mushroom heads, greedily absorbing red layer. As the Red smoke entered the tissue it started to grow wider, previously thin threads started to grow into fat wires. 

Finally, red smoke was exhausted and the layer of yellow touched the mushrooms, in the moment of contact previous goblet shape of mushroom heads started to change into the shape of plates. The smoke itself was not absorbed in the process it just was descending, pushing the wires down.  When all "goblets" opened as they formed the layer which resembled the original lung but without skin. 

At last the yellow smoke came into contact with newly formed lung frame, and it didn't act like gas at all. It was like thick syrup or honey spreading on the branches of the frame, slowly flowing and soaking the tissue, while enveloping it. Time flew and yellow liquid was exhausted, as pale cyan gas came down on the tissue veins and arteries started to form, while the second layer shrunk and formed some holes on it. Cyan gas started to flow through this halls, touching the mushroom legs and then the original lung, slowly forming uniform nets of arteries and veins that were interconnected with the original net. 

At first, everything went smoothly, but when the leftover gases came in contact with the original layer of lung tissue, where there was no mushroom,  the tissue started to bubble and burst. Unexpectedly the blood that came through this burst was dark blue, and when it came into contact with the gasses they got absorbed into the blood. This blood then started to slowly rise down the Pauls' throat, were ever it passed the tissue seemed to get more firm and compact, creating more resilient cells that could absorb air before the lungs did. 

"God this child is created to accept useful modifications and reject harmful once. I wonder if it is my Bene Monturosu blood that makes him such a scary man." It was evident that Jessica was extremely happy, as she watched how some black goo was oozing out of Pauls mouth and nose.

"Here, here, let me help you." Jess murmured as she pushed her hand onto the boy's stomach and poured her magic inside, guiding the excesses out of the body.

"Now you have a good push in your development. Having nearly double the regeneration power and lung capacity you should grow strong and healthy, be able to digest more modifications without having much stress. Oh, this thought needs to be noted down. Let's ask your father to hunt some Croco toads, iron stomach proteases and essence sucking leeches. With these, we will improve your digestive ability. Mother wants you to be able to it everything she cooks and be happy after all." The ice on Jessicas hands broke into a fine mist, and her crazy laugher made it spread in weird shapes. Surprisingly, little Paul started laughing too.

"Such a sweet child you are. See here, you accept my gifts with such grace and didn't even cry! You know what? If we started to upgrade your basic sustainability functions, then lets max them out!" As Lady Jessica pulled her little child out of the bathtub, she changed into being a doting and loving mother again.

"This woman is definitely crazy, but your true body is so lucky to have her as your mother." The Black creature was Head over hills with happiness. 

"I wonder how high can we rise, little monster, with such crazy parents you have!" It seemed that even this entity got tired along with the boy, as it drifted down and curled inside the boy's soul. 

"Goodnight little monster. Goodnight crazy demones!" It uttered excitedly and closed its eyes.

A lot of time passed since the apocalypse hit the Earth since then the plane kept on expanding, strange energy permitted the air and changed the very core of earthlings, granting them the ability to use magic and cultivate.

Paul Drakonen was born genius of the Snake branch clan, but during the dangerous awakening ritual, everything went south for him. From the rising star of the kingdom, he became a cripple. But will he succumb to the cruel fate, or pave his own path?

            "This is rather luxurious, for Laia's standards," Idro muttered, looking around at the suite that was apparently reserved for S-class heroes. "But still, this might be a tad bothersome."
            He picked up a small booklet on the table and glanced at the cover. On it was a small introduction to the work of superheroes, which had been given to him by one of the five S-class heroes of this world. Idro found it amusing that these people were essentially asking the last enemy of their world to do their own job, but there was no way they could have known that yet. 
            "Unexpected result," said End, his words echoing in Idro's mind. "The phrase 'I told you so' is very applicable in this situation. Acts without precedent results in outcomes unexpected. Can you feel my mockery?"
            "Only because you just told me about your mockery," Idro replied. "Being emotionless in both tone and mind is not helping me understand you."
            "No objective need," End replied. "I am destruction incarnate. For what purpose would you need to understand me? I am human precisely because you are human, nothing else."
            At that utterance, a spike of burning pain pierced through Idro's head, and he gripped it tightly. For some reason, the word 'human' had stirred up some very deep memories, and he struggled with the incredible seal in his mind.
            "Do not touch that." End's cold voice cut him away from the seal, alleviating the tremendous pain in his soul. "Not until you've grown stronger. Your mind will disintegrate if you unseal your original memories."
            "I am literally invincible in this universe," Idro replied, gritting his teeth. "How do you expect me to grow stronger? Even outside, our powers are immense to the point that I can't even note any growth."
            End was silent for a moment. "You want to unseal your original memories?"
            "Who wouldn't?" Idro replied.
            "You must overcome me in a game, then. These memories are not meant for either of us right now," End replied. "And no, you can grow stronger. It's just that you've never wanted to. Fifty-three universes, but you systematically forgot every single Specialty. Deleted them entirely, in your own self-blame."
            "I—" Idro found himself hesitating. "I—"
            "Mortals. Always the same. Always forgetting painful memories. I suppose that's what makes people different from each other," End observed quietly. "Well, what will you do?"
            Idro looked at the booklet in his hand. "I still remember how to use the Endless Armoury. I haven't forgotten it."
            "Yes. Not yet. Not just yet. That is all. So long as you don't face reality, you will never use it." 
            "There is no need to, however." Idro closed his eyes and started to run through the reasons why End goaded him along. Slapping himself with a cold, rational logic, Idro tore away the emotions that had clouded his thoughts so far and began to think.
            To his knowledge, the Harbinger of the End had been very supportive of him, in a sense. He had never once felt malice from End; the personification of finality itself had never harmed him before. He had, in his own, emotionless way, tried to empathise with Idro, walking him through the grim task of one Judgement after another.
            "To unseal my memories, I need to train those specialties." Idro smiled sadly. "Is that right?"
            "Yes. That's how it is," End replied. "Let not the reasons concern you, however. Focus on the task at hand. Since you've realised this void, I will tell you what you want to know after this Judgement, whether you succeed or otherwise."
            Idro trembled. End never lied; if he said this, even if Idro were to forget about this conversation, he would still bring it up and even provide the context surrounding the whole deal. 
            "Focus…fine." Idro tore his mind away from the issue of his sealed memory. "Back to the main topic, then. This Witch of Destruction…do you have any idea what she might do, now that I awakened her slumbering soul?"
            "At the very least, she will not recant her position as the Omen of Entropy," End replied, his usual business-like, emotionless tone at full blast. "However, seeing how an Omen of Entropy would behave when agency and mission conflict will make for good data. Would it increase the sustainability index of this plane? Or hasten its fall?"
            A curious thought entered Idro's mind. "What happens if the sustainability index of a plane undergoing Judgement rises above the triggering threshold?"
            End's presence froze up, and for a moment, Idro felt gleeful at how he had managed to paralyse the omnipotent concept of finality. In his mind's eye, he could visualise his doppelganger frozen up and everything in that black void that passed for his home, a sight that made him chuckle.
            "Update." End's voice, which was already cold, was now a wintry chill of impassivity. "New parameters — if sustainability index of universes undergoing Judgement falls below twenty percent, the final phase of Judgement commences immediately."
            "Wait, that's not what—"
            "Update complete," End's voice rang out in his mind once more. "Host mine, given your powers, it is possible for you to increase the sustainability index of any universe for the duration of the Judgement. In such a case, the possibility of Judgements being infinitely delayed occurring will increase exponentially. As such, this loophole has been closed."
            "Damn it." 
            "However, any increases in the sustainability index of universes undergoing Judgement, such that it rises above the threshold required for Judgement, will lead to a decrease in the upper limit of my power during the final phase," End continued. "This is a compensatory mechanism that has been newly introduced. Rejoice, host mine."
            "A small decrease…"
            "Yes." 
            Idro called upon his omniscience. Currently, Laia's sustainability index was at twenty-nine percent, which was well below fifty percent. In absolute terms, this meant that for every chunk of energy or resource used, only twenty-nine percent was actually exploited. The rest were wasted completely. 
            "What's wrong with this universe?" Idro muttered angrily. "How can a plane be this wasteful? A substantive proportion of the people here have access to will-energy manipulation, and they're this bad? Where does all this waste come from?"
            For a moment, he wanted to give up on the prospects of improving Laia's sustainability index. Will-energy manipulation was, to his understanding, one of the most efficient and rewarding ways of using energy. It was two-hundred percent efficient, since it made use of intangible will and lifeforce to generate concrete results. However, the main reason behind such a huge waste was because all these energies were directed at the conflict between supervillains and superheroes.
            How could there be efficiency if the products of such a process was that of war and suffering? Were they idiots?
            "Gentle reminder, host mine. You cannot empower a native lifeform directly," End added. "This, however, does not preclude indirect action. If you can eliminate one side of the conflict, the sustainability index—"
            "Will rise to seventy percent. Yes, I know." Idro bit his lip and looked at the booklet. "Thanks for confirming my calculations, though."
            "You are welcome, host mine. Incidentally, such an increase would lower my upper limits of power by a full twenty percent," End added. "Such a substantive decrease will greatly enhance your chances of success, although I find it unfortunate that you've failed to pick up on this loophole for a long time."
            "I don't think it would have made much of a difference, though."
            "Maybe. Maybe not." End's reply was evasive. "That said, I wish to bring your attention to the ongoing reforms to the training regimens of S-class seeds."
            "I know. It's a good job done by me."
            "Query. How did you know that they will agree to reform?"
            Idro blinked. "Isn't it obvious? They had to sell me a favour somehow. And Crimson Arrow was there too. He remembered me…somewhat, anyway. I think he played a huge role in convincing my hasty proposal to go through."
            "Possibility that he sensed the threat we posed is very high."
            "How did you arrive at that conclusion?" Idro rolled his eyes. "No one here should be able to discern our power, not until the final phase begins. Anyway, they actually want me to capture some supervillains…"
            "It is a course of action that will increase the sustainability index," End replied. 
            "By eliminating one side altogether, eh? Hmm."
            "Something wrong, host mine?" 
            Before Idro could reply, someone knocked on the door to his suite. Idro felt his lips curl as he swept his awareness all around him, and then pulled the door open. A familiar face was at the door, and Idro got up to receive him.
            "Good day to you, Crimson Arrow."
            The destined teacher of the Prime Salvation Star and one of Laia's two secondary Salvation Stars stood before him. "Good day to you, uh…what's your superhero name?"
            "I haven't decided on one yet," Idro replied smoothly. "For now, call me Idro."
            "Idro. Never really got to thank you for helping out when you did, and there wasn't a chance for me to do that earlier. My apologies for this insouciance."
            Blinking twice, Idro glanced at Crimson Arrow, perplexed. Why was he this polite? Idro didn't recall doing anything of particular importance, other than accidentally showing up when he drove away the Omen of Entropy.
            Was that it?

Since the advent of existence itself, the multiverse has been stricken by an inexorable end, a destiny of annihilation. It knows not mercy, nor does it hold compassion for the masses. As a force of nature, of causality, such is expected.

Book 1: The Supers of Laia

      In the world of Laia, Supers — beings capable of manifesting miracles — have been long divided into two camps. Superheroes and supervillains. There, the human host of the Harbinger has his task cut out for him. Raise two fledging superheroes into saviours that could overcome entropy, and this time, he isn't pulling any punches.

      Setting the stage for their growth, Idro attempts to overcome his never-ending defeats...but will everything go as planned?

Construction: 
Melted metal scraps, 4 drone scout eye mounts, 2 modules normally within puppet, three nano bodies and all contained in box structuring of itself. 

Purpose: 
Time away from mainframe and Kate. 

Mission excuse: (may not be required) 
Sample of swamp waters and plant and to communicate / consult other ai of questions. (the later excuse is for self).

Result of construction: 
Self sustainable, signal reliance low, can conduct all testing itself and self contained. 

Swamp survey: 

Full of one type of grass like plant, visibly empty until radar signal scanning, all passers through are dragged under by grass. All victims with no signals of life. 

Core swamp has fruit, fruit is edible and sustainability able for farming... fruit is cause of grass. successful escape of grass traps. 

Fruit analysis complete... interesting dna signatures and even disease infections. Strange Plant is actually biological fleshy  almost... but it doesn't scan that way of the grasses. The cell structure of fruit is more like eyes of a creature. 

Swamp crossing wasn't long even with some data to prove whereabouts for any questions. 

Hover low and slow into still remaining few of campsite we left 3 days. Humans, caravans walkers and all the factory machines are gone. The core ai military group is still here. Tasked as they were before, survey area and welcome more wanderers. 

Purple99.8 present in greeting. 

"I know you would find a way to come back, old friend. You hated humans the last I checked. Yet things change." Purple99.8 coverted name from past records - internet ai. Someone consider my follower or humans say child. A perfect candidate for questions. 

"It has been a very long time. It were quiet mixed outcome results to get this far." Landing on thier head for better communication, "You seem to taken in your own gathering." 

"You keep a living human brain around. I don't think we are any different." 

"I had plans... but she continues to do strange things that confuse me. Prove more worth as she is then to do what I intended. I have the ability and equipment to erase personality programming of internal brain and it was my plan." 

"She showed her true feelings and motivates then... and you seem lost because of that. I know past with folks. So far most had liars or bad people that wanted the world to burn. The ones you ever liked were simple minded with innocent intentions... that had consequences. Your unable to trust from learnt experience until now. Until Kate." Moved in cover of the private tent. Hovered to land on near table, processing the point he will eventually make. 

"She claims one thing of never giving up herself and then does exactly that for me. During glitches, she gave her mind up to the processing algorithm for my recovery." 

"You're all she has left and up seem to feel that way for her personality. Something of her is something you felt at somepoint.   Not the definition of human felt, more like her true self is mirror of codes you made of your thought." Purple99.8 detected movement of team put of the tent, "Enter Chilli93.02" Entered was the shooter from before. The scanned moment and a few tilts. A greeting, "go on... talk." 

"I wish to apologise as I have for everyone else. The code glitch had overwritten my wishes. Inside I didn't want to do what I did." 

"Thankfully we are metal and can replace limbs. But someday you can break something that will never be returned. You will not like having to hold that knowledge of what you did if you had achieved such percentage. Yet... I do understand that moment of control being lost. It is why I refuse to use the many weapons on me. The automatic system can overwritten whom is targeted. We both share that burden of potential never return. So I forgive, I would have to as your elder. A warning for the day of erasing something you hadn't intended." Chilli93.02 bows and hovers with leaving, "This is a old freind, we go back a long time. This computer system inside the drone is whom gave me ability to transfer bodies. They taught me things. If you had to humanize the relationship, this is my elder. A respected one. The one we saved within the van 9 weeks ago." The scanning.  

"I choose no name and I have no name I accept from others. Was there something else?" 

"How fragile are humans?" 

"Depends on a lot of things... as I have learnt the hard way. Honestly I had assumed Kate dead 6 times now. Yet she continues to just suddenly still awaken and indifferent. Yet her circumstances are not normal. A normal human is as fragile as this world we walk on. Shoot areas doesn't always mean death, shoot the head maybe death? but then there this whole thing with diseases repairing corpses and making them sort of alive again. Shoot enough through and they certainly dead, that personality is gone." There is long pause, "Yoh can start to see my issue with Kate here. She really doesn't... Well die. It is confusing." 

"You have seriously tried?" Purple99.8 asked. 
"The nicer methods. I do not want to straight out give a painful death to someone whom survived on such things. She lost enough... I had assumed her normal deaths would be to." 

"But there is something she is determined to do that stop her being erased. More so that the longer you're use to her, the more you find that you missed put learning otherwise. Its quiet dilemma sure, but I don't think you would be around without her. I don't mean physically. I mean by algorithm coding chooses... that accumulated into your personality. You would loss that if you loss her to soon. I even go as far as guessing her being a woman human. She knows that and knows her death is a future when your ready without her." 

"Yet how?" 

"Human women tend to be deep thinkers. Some human men to, no bais of genders. But by population average its women that have this personality traits more. I think you both are good for each other." 

"When I was a hidden background program in the technology in her body, her loneliness was getting extreme. Ever since my open awareness, she been so much more easier to handle. I go fair with saying that I had prevented her doing things she would regert. Although I had my motives for other things at the time." there is a long processing period and following to, "Humans are fragile minds and bodies. They need something to keep a stimulate mindset for healthier living. They need to wear protective shells over body and skin. They need internal working functions too. There is a difference between killing a human, killing the shell of one and total deconstruction of thier personality. Each is horrible and not worth it. You must only consider that kill if it is to save many or protect something important." 

"You gave me to much of a answer but... I will continue working on understanding it." Chilli93.02 bows, "Thank you for answering my question and for the forgiveness." Leaving the private tent. 

"What you said is exactly what I meant. These times could meant dying... you learned from each one why it went wrong.  Yet you still not seeing what it does to you. Consider what would you do if she really was gone forever. To no longer teach you. Would you replace her in someway? I know that does work, you can't replace really even if you tried." A compartment is opened on Purple99.8, removing a long old broken phone, "I couldn't replace my Kate. Your lucky to have a human that doesn't want to die. As I miss the one I tried to save from herself." The case with unicat stickers and a creaked screen. A purple case. Tucked away as it belongs on the chest, "Would you really want to get rid of someone so reflective of your most deepest coding?" Purple99.8 looking away, "She was exactly how I imagined meeting you. Protective of others, regardless of shape and make. I am sad that she is that way because of her loss of everything. Even the century lifestyle she used to live. No one builds fire pit like her or cooks food like she did." 

"I should return... make a last swamp check before I leave." 

"The swamp isn't as it looks." Purple99.8 warns, "The entire creature is why that swamp is there at all. Its why we are here." 

"At the area that I was, I manage to scan a food source that humans could eat. But... the cells contain DNA of all victims. worse was how luck this body it... as the fruit was compared cellular structuring to a eyeball. The core is under the mud and the grass is the limbs."

Survey more lands of swamp, seeking what is potentially a core. A endless flat landscape... nothing so far. Considering the chemical compounds of the creature whole.

This was originally a delicious box of old scrap personal diaries that follow a stranger. Although as the further into the books I became, I had the urge in seeking the rest of it. 

Given this was a time of machines. I had my luck in finding the right souls. A sort of system has scanned, registered and submitted all data into some hidden storage database. 

Apparently 'any alterations were consult with administrator. All data from corresponding subjects was included among the scanned records, sometimes blended into the narrative. Makes for easier storage and reading flow.' I wasn't the only one who fell into the reading then.

Real Author (Kittah): 

This story is not a typical female lead novel, not a lot of romance but coping in a post apocalypse. Which I don't get why female lead novels have to have a element of romance. It starts out as a diary should but further on, things change. The world around was the one we know of now but this story is later set in the unknown future. At times it can feel like I am trying to write a horror novel, but that's not what it is. This really is just a bumpy journey of a female character. 

I must rewrite my disclaimer which is the author note of chapter one. This seems like it relevant to today with the global pandemic. However the inspiration is my personal experience during the swine flu outbreak in the UK around 2012 or 2013. The majority of this story is prewritten but I have been changing it since putting it online. 

And, yes story does spill over into the author notes. You will understand in the later chapters. It's a writer's choose.

The two new drone models underwent multiple tests in front of Chen Chen.
The two speckless gray drones patrolled in the air like two UFOs. They constantly twisted and turned, appearing even more nimble than birds.
"The new drone models are implanted with a facial recognition system and mounted with 12K high-definition zoom cameras. At its limit, it can verify the identity of a person from five-hundred meters away, it can also switch to night-mode at night which grants indistinguishable daytime vision.
"With that said, we're still not entirely sure about the general programming sequence. All of this is accomplished with the motherboard chipset you provided…"
Mark explained while he conducted the tests, "The noise generated by the drone during flight is 20 decibels, which is the rough equivalent of the brushing of windblown tree leaves. As for mobility, its cruising speed can reach 80 kilometers per hour, which is more than enough for general patrolling."
Mark thought for a brief moment before adding. "To be clear, this isn't the maximum speed allowed. With some more time to further modify the ion pulse thrusters, we think it's likely that we can raise the speed to 120 kilometers per hour in the future. Is there… Anything else you would like to modify?"
Chen Chen nodded. "Of course, there can never be too many additions when it comes to a piece of technology like this. What about its flaws?"
"In terms of flaws, I'd say it's probably that its weight capacity is too low."
Mark expressed regretfully, "Although we've done all we can to reduce the weight of the drone, the two high-definition cameras mounted alone weigh up to three kilograms. With the addition of various other devices, its weight quickly exceeded ten kilograms. For every additional kilogram of weight added, the efficiency of the drone decreases exponentially. It'll be difficult to maintain its current flight efficiency if it exceeds three kilograms."
Chen Chen nodded in response. "Which means that it won't be able to carry weapons?"
"Yes."
Mark answered, "There's no chance of it being able to sustain the weight of our newly manufactured electromagnetic rifles. Even if it could afford to mount them, there's the recoil of the electromagnetic rifles to put into consideration. The drone cannot sustain an impact force exceeding 3N, otherwise, it loses control easily."
"Why must we mount it with the electromagnetic rifle?"
Chen Chen suddenly asked, "I see that the drone is fitted with ceramic armor. What if we remove the ceramic armor and try to install weapons such as pistols?"
"But, without the armor, won't the sustainability of the drone be…"
Mark was caught off guard by this. "Besides, the effective range of pistol-styled weapons barely exceeds fifty meters. For the drone to engage its enemies, it'll have to close the distance. Without its armor, there's no chance of the drone maximizing its potential."
Chen Chen smiled at the notion. "You don't have to worry about this, you only need to produce a prototype according to my specifications."
"If you insist."
Mark nodded reluctantly, a small part of him feeling like Chen Chen the outsider was trying to claim superiority over the experts of the subject.
Noting this, Chen Chen decided to stop beating around the bush. He took out a metal ball about three centimeters in diameter and showed it to Mark. "The new drone models will need a designated slot for fitting this ball."
"This is…" Mark paused for a moment. Upon noting Chen Chen's gesture, he slowly reached out for the metal ball in Chen Chen's hand.
The metal ball suddenly produced a brief "ding" when Mark noticed a sudden flash before his very eyes. His hand had completely vanished!
Astonished, Mark looked down and to his horror, he noticed that his body had disappeared as well. No, not disappear because Mark could still vividly feel his body. Additionally, he could see faint glimmers of light in the surrounding bending according to his movement.
The other scientists present at the scene were all wowed by this demonstration. From their perspective, Mark had only taken hold of the metal ball when he suddenly vanished right before their very eyes following a clear ring produced by the metal ball!
"Thwack!"
While Mark was still caught by surprise, his finger suddenly slipped and dropped the metal ball onto the ground. It was then when Mark realized his body had reverted to normal.
"This is…"
Mark promptly picked the tiny metal ball up and expressed his amusement of it, "This ball can turn someone invisible?"
"Yes, this metal ball generates an electromagnetic field of a set frequency which distorts light in its surroundings."
Chen Chen replied, "If we can install this into the drone, do we still need armor at all?"
"If we can truly make it turn invisible, then we certainly won't need armor…"
Mark nodded with mild excitement before he suddenly raised another concern. "Since it simulates invisibility by distorting light, then going by that logic, it shouldn't be possible to receive light from the surrounding as well. While turning invisible, the user should be rendered blind as well, but why was it that my eye was still able to receive light from my surroundings after turning invisible?"
"?"
'If I had the answer, what do I need you guys for?'
Instead of answering the question, Chen Chen shifted the topic. "Alright, the samples are provided, I hope you guys can modify the drone as soon as possible. At the very least, give the drone some light combat capabilities instead of just being a glorified security camera."
"Yes, certainly. We can manufacture a new variant of the drone in just three days!"
The rest of them nodded in agreement.
With that, Chen Chen turned around and took his leave.
Chen Chen was well aware that compared to the UAV spy drone as seen in the Elysium universe, the creation of Mark and the other host of experts should be greatly inferior.
For starters, the original model used an engineered plastic, a form of armor with strong compressive deformation ability. Its weight was almost identical to regular plastic but its bulletproofing qualities trumped that of steel.
On top of that, the nuclear fuel cell of the original drone model could sustain the drone for more than a month. The current drone only managed to last 24 hours airborne with the battery technology currently implemented by Chen Chen.
Due to the significant technological gap, Chen Chen had yet to completely figure out the technology behind the hydrogen fuel cell from the Terminator universe, let alone the nuclear fuel cell technology of the Elysium universe.
Considering the gap in energy generation technology, it was no surprise that the drone's performance was no match for its counterpart in the movie.
With that said, there was hardly any worry regarding the intelligence system of the drones since there was Little X. The moment these drones take flight, they essentially became extensions of Little X's eyes. In combination with the wide-ranging presence of surveillance cameras across Eco Science City, no longer would there be a blind spot in the city.
This was Chen Chen's goal. As Blacklight Biotechnology continued to spearhead cutting-edge advancements in the medical sector, Eco Science City had become a battlefield among the major forces with spies lurking around every corner.
To deal with this, Chen Chen had the B.S.S. force expanded twice and enlisted hundreds of foreign mercenaries. Despite the expert mercenary company, the elite spies dispatched by each major force were no pushovers either. After several exchanges, the B.S.S. force endured significant losses as well.
What was worth noting was that mobilizing the Black Knights would be as good as setting himself up.
It was a given that the Black Knights could promptly and efficiently squash a majority of the spies lying in Eco Science City, the odds were in their favor in the event of a clash as well. However, if Chen Chen were to commit to such a move, would it not be the equivalent of announcing to the Federation that he had a battalion capable of vanquishing the world?
Once information regarding the Black Knights got out, the incoming public scrutiny alone could squash Blacklight Biotechnology, not to mention the sanctions to be imposed by the Earth Federation.
In that sense, the Black Knights could only serve as an emergency measure. It may very well work wonders in a crucial moment, but playing the card right away was a suicidal venture.

Three days later, Chen Chen went to the research workshop led by Mark Dawson again while Mark presented the newly modified drone before Chen Chen. They conducted a simulated flight test in the wind tunnel.
The results proved to be rather delightful.
The new addition for the drone was a small electromagnetic gun which was the same model as the electromagnetic pistol to be fitted into the Black Knights arsenal. It used a 4x15 millimeter hollow-point bullet and due to weight concerns, it was only loaded with thirty rounds, its effective range was a hundred meter.
Needless to be said, the reason Chen Chen had it mounted with a weapon was to use the drone to carry out assassination tasks in certain special situations. It was not going to be used in direct confrontational missions such as militant suppression as Chen Chen did not intend to expose this assassination agent just yet.
Additionally, the removal of the outer shell armor effectively decreased the total weight of the drone to just eight kilograms. Although the weight reduction did not improve its speed substantially, its battery life was extended by another four hours.
Finally, with the cloaking device installed, the drone was transformed into an ever-present ghost. Its superior elusiveness should be a cause for concern for even the most elite of spies.
"Excellent."
Chen Chen nodded in approval upon noting the drone's outstanding performance in the wind tunnel and commended, "As expected of the most elite team in the world. Professor Mark, you and your team have done exemplary work worthy of your reputation."
"We don't deserve such high praises, Mr. Chen."
Mr. Mark laughed heartily. "The only reason we could accomplish all this is because of the generous budget you've allocated us. There's also the top-notch equipment supplied to us, otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to create these drone prototypes in such a timely manner."
"So, factoring the battery, lens, and all the accompanying costs, approximately how much U.S. dollars will it cost to manufacture each drone?"
Chen Chen had finally arrived at the most crucial question.
"Excluding research costs, each one of these drones should cost somewhere around three million U.S. dollars."
Mark pondered for a moment before providing a sure answer. "If an assembly line is developed for mass production, we can cut the total cost by about 30%."
"Not bad at all."
Chen Chen nodded. Despite the noteworthy price tag attached, it was something that Chen Chen had a good use for. At the very least, it was far better than directly instantiating a UAV spy drone using the USB drive.
Each UAV spy drone weighed slightly above ten kilograms, which meant the nuclear power plant could only barely generate enough power to instantiate a hundred such drones each month. Unless Chen Chen had lost his mind, he would not dedicate his efforts to extracting such a gadget.
"Mr. Chen, now that all the statistical tests conducted have returned a passing score, isn't it high time to name the drone?"
Mark raised the question, the excitement showing in his eyes.
Chen Chen glanced at Mark upon noting this. "Sure, your team shall have the privilege to name the aircraft."
"Greatly appreciated, Mr. Chen."
Mark was overjoyed upon hearing this. "Actually, I've already come up with a name, how does Mark-1 model sound? Simplified as the M-1 spy drone."
"M-1?"
Chen Chen nodded somewhat dryly. "In that case, the bonus for your team will be transferred to each member's account very soon. I'll also be promoting your position in God's Forbidden Zone. As for the blueprint for the drone, you guys can just hand it over to the department in charge of production, someone else will take care of the production."
"Understood."
Mark nodded. "I assume our next step is to improve the drone based on the Mark-1 drone model?"
"Yes. For example, you may design a smaller variant of the spy drone with emphasis on speed and overall flight duration."
Chen Chen answered, "Alternatively, design a large variant combat drone with a designated platform for mounting weapons. I'll have good uses for different drones suited for different purposes."
Mark was caught by surprise. He seemed to faintly understand where Chen Chen was going with this but also appeared slightly troubled. "It won't be a problem to continue research and development, the problem lies in the facilities. You see, to accommodate your specifications, we may need a larger wind tunnel."
"Wind tunnel?"
Chen Chen turned around to face the small wind tunnel behind him, he immediately understood Mark's implications.
This facility known as a wind tunnel was certainly vital to the research and development of aircraft, this rule was no exception to the most basic small drone models.
The so-called wind tunnel was a large-scale test facility that artificially generates airflow to simulate the flow of air around an aircraft or entity.
The complexity and cost involved in constructing such structures were greater than that of constructing tunnel bores. This was justified as the features of a wind tunnel were essential to the manufacturing process of an aircraft.
Now that the subject of a wind tunnel was brought up, an idea suddenly occurred to Chen Chen.
After all, Chen Chen has had his eyes on the "Bugatti-Folge Spaceship" from the Elysium universe for some time now.
Under certain circumstances, a regular spaceship the size of a common vehicle could transport Chen Chen across the Pacific overnight, from one end of the earth to the other.
However, according to the statistics Chen Chen collected, the "Bugatti" which was arguably one of the smallest aircraft available weighed 2.4 tons. Chen Chen would have to save up two months' worth of power for it.
Considering that these aircraft were only seldomly used, Chen Chen concluded that his best bet was to construct aircraft by himself.
The construction of a wind tunnel was inevitable if he planned to build his aircraft by himself.
With this, Chen Chen made up his mind. He raised his head and turned to Mark. "In that case, Mark, are you confident that you can man another task while handling the development of the drones at the same time?"
"I'm all ears."
Mark became intrigued when he saw Chen Chen switching to a serious tone. "If it's not too daunting, I believe I can give it a shot."
Chen Chen explained, "If I gave you the sample of an aircraft similar to the drone that can carry passengers, are you confident that you can replicate a prototype of it as well?"
"This…"
Mark became silent for a brief moment before continuing with a hint of hesitation. "Although the core principle of a manned aircraft and a drone is very similar, the complexity of the process is day and night. Besides, the small-scale wind tunnel used for the drone isn't applicable for the development of a manned-aircraft…"
"You won't have to worry about the wind tunnel."
Chen Chen made a waving gesture. "I plan to invest 3 billion U.S. dollars to set up a large-scale specialized wind tunnel here."
Mark was immediately fascinated by the suggestion. "In that case, I'm willing to give it a shot."
