A book written in 1981 by Dean Koontz shows similarities to the so-called coronavirus crisis

"YES!" – An exultant Ma'am Merl celebrated as soon as she entered our office. "The printing press approved our request!"

I almost jumped off my seat. "That's great then! So, what are the terms?"

"Actually, after they checked my transaction history with them, they agreed with our demands – and gave it to us for free!"

My eyes bulged upon hearing that the corrections will be applied at no cost. No matter how cynical I was beforehand, it still worked out. Also, it wasn't really an implausible idea that just because she was Emerlina Arnante, she perfectly executed the plan. At the end of the day, she's one of the most acknowledged teachers in the region.

"When will we get the copies?" I asked. 

"On Friday. That gives us three more days to make sure that everything is arranged before we release them to the entire school."

"Alright. That should be easy. What are we supposed to do now?"

"Prepare for the upcoming Intramurals."

"Wait, what? Isn't it too early for that? Besides, it's only January."

"Right. Well, since our school has already adapted the August-December and January-May format, it was supposed to happen last month. However, because of the strong typhoon, it was suspended. Hence, moving it to the 17th until the 19th of this month."

It was almost seven in the evening when I finished editing several articles, including news and literary pieces, which will be used in the upcoming Nexus issues. Before I completed everything, I received a weird-looking email from an unknown sender.

Nothing really looked peculiar at first. But its title caught my attention – "The Infamous Recession Scheme."

As I scanned it, I realized that it was an editorial about the Novel Coronavirus or nCoV written in English. It made me wonder how and why it was sent to me. Besides, I didn't even know who disseminated it. Worse, why was it about the virus?

There was a paragraph where its author gave a hint regarding a certain powerful country who wanted to spark the third world war without using any artillery. It made me think how this chaos really started.

To my surprise, a friend also sent me a photograph of a portion of a Dean Koontz written book, "The Eyes of Darkness." Here's what page 353 of such book contained:

"I'm not interested in the philosophy or morality of biological warfare," Tina said. "Right now Ijust want to know how the hell Danny wound up in this place."

"To understand that," Dombey said, "you have to go back twenty months. It was around then that a Chinese scientist named Li Chen defected ti the United States, carrying a diskette record of China's most important and dangerous new biological weapon in a decade. They call the stuff "Wuhan-400" because it was developed at their RDNA labs outside of the city of Wuhan, and it was their four-hundredth viable strain of man-made microorganisms created at that research center.

"Wuhan-400 Is a perfect weapon. It afflicts only human beings. No other living creature can carry it. And like syphilis, Wuhan-400 can't survive outside a living body for longer than a minute, which means it can't permanently contaminate objects or entire places the way anthrax and other virulent microorganisms can. And when the host expires, the Wuhan-400 within him perishes a short while later, as soon as the temperature of the corpse drops below eighty-six degrees Fahrenheit. Do you see the advantage of all this?"

The specificity of Koontz's words gave me goose bumps. After reading everything, a lot of questions clobbered my gray matter – which made me forget it was almost eight in the evening and I was still in the office. I took all my stuff, put them in my bag and speedily went home.

"It's almost nine, Pat," mom said as I bolted to my room. "Where have you been?"

"I was stuck in our office, Ma. Ma'am Merl left me with a bunch of articles that needed editing," I answered. "I made sure to finish all of them.

"Isn't that too much? I mean, you just got into the publication."

"I'm not surprised at all, Ma."

As soon as she left, I locked my room and started browsing the internet. I searched for the book's most notable phrases about Koontz's future predictions. Our residence wasn't really the most feasible for a smooth reception, but it was just enough to get the information I needed. There were numerous search results – but one of them really stood out. It was a picture of a page from Koontz's book – the page wasn't shown – but it talked about the year 2020.

"In around 2020 a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments. Almost more baffling than the illness itself will be the fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it arrived, attack again ten years later, and then disappear completely."

I was startled. The fact that Koontz really stated the year 2020 in his prophecy made it even spookier. Now that it all made sense, I checked if my memory served me right. But before doing so, I first listed all the things I knew before verifying them – I was thinking of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome or SARS. 

Based from what I recalled, SARS probably boomed between 2000 and 2005. I wasn't even ten years old by then, but I knew my retention would not fail me. Afterwards, I went back to the internet to validate my conspiracy.

The World Health Organization website shown that SARS was identified in 2003. It was thought to be an animal virus from an as-yet-uncertain animal reservoir, perhaps bats, that spread to other animals (civet cats) and first infected humans in the Guangdong province of southern China in 2002.

Furthermore, Brenda L. Teslini, MD, of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, discussed the coronaviruses in their website, MSD Manual Professional Version. What she wrote gave me a clearer picture of the virus.

Coronaviruses are enveloped RNA viruses that cause respiratory illnesses of varying severity from the common cold to fatal pneumonia. Numerous coronaviruses, first discovered in domestic poultry in the 1930s, cause respiratory, gastrointestinal, liver, and neurologic diseases in animals. Only 7 coronaviruses are known to cause disease in humans.

Four of the 7 coronaviruses most frequently cause symptoms of the common cold. Three of the 7 coronaviruses cause more severe, and sometimes fatal, respiratory infections in humans than other coronaviruses and have caused major outbreaks of deadly pneumonia in the 21st century:

SARS-CoV2 is a novel coronavirus identified as the cause of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) that began in Wuhan, China in late 2019 and spread worldwide.

MERS-CoV was identified in 2012 as the cause of Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS).

SARS-CoV was identified in 2002 as the cause of an outbreak of sever acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).

These coronaviruses that cause severe respiratory infections are the zoonotic pathogens, which begin in infected animals and are transmitted from animals to people.

It was clear that COVID-19 was a strain of the original SARS virus which was notorious in 2003.

Therefore, Koontz made sense when he declared that the virus will vanish quickly as it arrived, attack again ten years later.

But, what I was really hoping for was the next phase – for this destructive virus to disappear completely.

We take photographs as Return Tickets to moments otherwise gone. As Pat regains his shutter touch, Jane arrives in his borderline-okay life, which will make unimaginable differences.

As soon as Corbin stepped into the shower he was in Ivan's arms; strong and safe. Their lips battled for purchase and dominance behind their smiles. They made quick love, wasting no time with foreplay, the heat of the moment matching the heat of the shower water. Their bodies cooled with the water before washing bodies and hair and stepping out. 

Ivan cooked a box of macaroni as a quick snack before finally curling up with one another in their shared bed before drifting off to sleep. 

Three days later saw Ivan sitting at his desk going over the latest case file connected to the case that, in his career, has never disturbed him more. 

The latest victim, a twenty-two-year-old male. His body was badly mutilated with deep lacerations across his abdomen, buttocks, penis and testicles. As he was flipping through the pictures the coroner had taken of the body, noticed something that looked familiar that was not present on the other victims' bodies, however the way in which each person was murdered, the bodily mutilations as well as a pendant gripped in each of their hands, as if placed there postmortem. The pendant was, in each case including this new one, St. Nicholas, the patron saint of whores. 

What caught Ivan's attention on this particular photo was a tattoo. Ivan frowned as he studied it but didn't recall a photo of this tattoo in any other of the files. 

He picked up his phone, dialing a number from memory. He listened, counting the rings on the other end. "Come on, damn it, answer." On the fifth ring someone answered. "Sam, hey, quick question on this case. The newest victim has a tattoo on his right hip. A long stem rose. Was that present on any of the others and photographic evidence wasn't taken, by chance?"

There was a pause before, "Not that I'm aware of. It wasn't mentioned before in the M.E.'s report. What's the significance? Think it's some kind of brand?"

Ivan's heart stammered at those words. "I'm not sure the significance yet. I was just double checking. Maybe you'd caught something I'd missed."

"Sorry, no. I saw the photos but I just figured it was a run-of-the-mill tattoo."

"Alright, thanks, Sam. I'll let you know if I come up with something." He disconnected the call and stared at the tattoo. It was a symbol he knew intimately. A churning in his gut told him something was amiss. But he had no idea what. "There's no way he's connected to this..." he said to himself. A quick search of this person had discovered him a startling coincidence. Ivan sighed. This couldn't be right. 

When Ivan returned home he was greeted by Juno at the door; tail wagging and ears up. Corbin was sitting on the couch reading a Dean Koontz novel, his legs stretched along its length. He smiled at Ivan when he entered the living room, set his book aside and slid his feet to the floor. 

"Hey, baby. You look tired. Rough day?" Ivan sat down next to him, scrubbing his hands over his face. 

"Long. This case. It keeps throwing me curve balls." Ivan closed his eyes and sighed. "Cor...can I, um, can I ask you something?"

Corbin frowned. The hesitation in his voice scared him. "What?"

"The tattoo on your hip. Where did you get it?" Do you think it's some kinda brand? He did now. 

"Why?" Ivan watched Corbin's face closely. His body. He began shifting, fidgeting his fingers nervously around one another. 

"It's probably nothing. But off chance, do you know anyone by the name of Mark Franklin?"

At the name Corbin paled, though he schooled his expression quickly. "A long time ago."

"Corbin, he...he was killed last night."

Corbin closed his eyes inhaling a shaky breath. "How?

Ivan watched him. He was barely in control. "It's better you don't know the details. Did you get the tattoos together?"

A single tear rolled down his cheek as he nodded. "It was another lifetime. I...hadn't spoken to him in years. He...he was here? In Houston?"

Ivan wondered why the sudden panic that filled the question. "Yeah. You didn't know? I mean, when y'all split ways, it wasn't in Houston?"

Corbin shook his head. "No. We went to Austin when we...left San Antonio. Spent the weekend there. And on a Sunday night on sixth street after some drinks, we went our own ways. I never saw him again."

Ivan knew he was telling the truth. But he was also aware that the story he'd been told was the Reader's Digest version. He chose not to comment. Corbin had never been open about his past and Ivan didn't want to push too much, too fast. From experience he knew that would not have the hoped for results. 

Ivan nodded. "I'm sorry, Cor. He seems to have meant something to you."

Corbin nodded. "He did. He...kept me alive." He said the last bit as if to himself. 

Ivan frowned. "What do you mean?"

Corbin's eyes went to his hands that were clasping tightly to one another. "Ivan," Corbin said. He took a shaky breath as a tear fell from his eyes. 

"Baby, I don't want to make you relive whatever it is you're running from, but if you knew him...what if you knew the others?"

"Others?" Corbin covered his face, slowly inhaling. Exhaling. Ivan didn't say anything. His detective brain reeling. "What others?"

"Corbin..." Ivan exhaled. He didn't like discussing his work with him. He tried protecting Corbin from that side of his work. He didn't know much about Corbin's past other than the conclusions he'd drawn with deductive reasoning over the years of their relationship. 

"Ivan, please."

"If you want information, I need information in return. Can you do that?"

Corbin felt his heart break at not only Ivan's words but at the icy undertone in his voice. "Ivan. How can I tell you what I've been through? You'll never look at me the same. Nothing will be the same." Corbin hid his face in his hands, his body tense. Ivan could see he was shaking. He knew it wasn't fair of him to demand but it went further than them now. If Corbin held knowledge that could help stop this killer he needed to know.

CHAPTER 283: THINKING OF HIM

Swallowing the food in her mouth, Nina gulped a glass of water. She clears her throat to prepare to talk to Kristina instead.
"Ahem. Kristina, is my room ready? Can I move in tomorrow?" she asked cheerfully. Of course, it delighted her to stay away from Steven. She wants to move out today if she were to ask. 
Kristina, who focuses all her senses on her food, raises her head and meets Nina's beautiful eyes. She responded, "Yes. Emily and Vanessa, with the other girls in the dormitory to clean your room today for you to move in tomorrow. I think it will finish soon." 
"Really? Then I can move today!" she uttered excitedly. 
Steven was in panic hearing this; he promptly stopped Nina. He complains, "Why are you in a hurry to move in? We haven't spent more time yet." He sounded hurting.
Nina pursed a smile as she mouthed, "We have plenty of time from now on, right?" 
"But still… you can stay here. You don't need a dormitory. I will drive you to school before I go to the office, then we can go home after our classes in the evening. And even if I have no class, I will always pick you up from school. And if I couldn't drive you to school, Mr. Feng can drop you off. They will be here in two weeks," Steven proposes. 
Of course, he would not give up convincing Nina. This is his chance to be alone with her. He wouldn't wait for Jessica to arrive. Once Jessica was here, she would follow Nina around and put her nose into Nina's business. 
Meanwhile, eating quietly across from Steven and Nina: Harry and Kristina fell on their thoughts. From their point of view, everything that Steven mentions is more likely a proposal. This guy is truly madly in love with Nina. 
But Harry feels something is not right. Why does Steven hurry to live with Nina like a married couple? 
Nina, on the other hand, prefers her silence, carefully munching her food. But Steven is tenacious to hear her answer. She presses her lips to calm down and has careful thought on how to explain things with Steven. Of course, she could not openly blurt out in front of others that she is breaking up with him. 
Heaving a silent sigh, she muttered, "Steven, I already told you that one thing why I came here is to live independently. I could not do that if I was living in a huge mansion with a bunch of servants and even have a personal driver. That's not my purpose why I am here as an Exchange Student. Besides, I know how to drive now. I will buy a car to drive myself. Also, Jessica knows to drive too."
Steven rendered speechlessly learning this. 'No way!' Now he was racking his head about how to make her stay, at least until tomorrow. He wants to spend time with her tonight!
Heaving a sigh of defeat, Steven concealed his displeasure. He could see that Nina wanted to stay away from him because of what happened last night, and she was still angry about what he did. But he loves her so much. How could he convince Nina that he is really in love with her and wanted to marry her sooner? If Nina accepts his proposal. Right at this moment, he will marry her. 
But now, she was aloof, and it felt like she was drifting away from him. How could she please him? What can make her happy? Steven mused. 
"Okay..." he stopped being stubborn. "I will take you tomorrow to your dormitory. It's my responsibility to help you settle in. Dean Collins assigned me to take care of all you needed and tour you around the University. We can go shopping to buy the things you needed," he said in a gentle tone, pushing a smile to hide his frustration. Nina ignores him, but she can not stop him from doing this. 
From that table, someone had no sense at all that a heavy tension grew in the room. Upon hearing the word shopping, Seth's ears stood like a puppy. Instantly, excitement crept to his body as his eyes twinkled. 
"Shopping?" he burst out.
Everyone's attention settled on Seth's direction. Watching him quiver with excitement, Nina got an idea. "You can come with us, Seth. I promised to buy you a late present. Let me buy you tomorrow!" She invited Seth to come along tomorrow.
"Is that true, sister Nina? That is not a joke?" Seth's eyes twinkled several times that made Nina laugh. 
"I'm serious," she said with a huge smile across her face.
"Yes!" Seth delightedly exclaimed, almost jumped from his chair. 
Astounded, Lucy watched Seth with an open mouth. She could not believe this guy didn't see the picture. 'It was a date for sister Nina and brother Steven! Yet, he volunteered to be the third wheel!' 
Steven, on the other hand, it shocked him when Seth cut in and didn't realize it was a couple's shopping date. Across the table, Kristina giggled in silence. She has no comment on how shameless Seth is. Harry, who astounded as well, could only shake his head. He glanced at Steven, and his twin brother was frowning from disappointment. 
Too bad the guy noticed nothing about what was going on; Seth doesn't stop talking. "Sister Nina! I will help you move in tomorrow! I could carry your luggage and shopping bags!" 
"Sure!" Nina answered gleefully. It will be a great idea to have Seth as a company. Besides, the guy is so funny. It was him who saved her from great tension when Steven kept insisting about her not moving out. 
"How about you, Kristina? Are you free tomorrow? What time is your class?" asked Nina after a little while. She's hoping that Kristina won't turn her down.
Surprised that Nina invited her, she replied, "My classes would be in the afternoon and evening." 
"Oh, great! Why don't you come with us? I need a girl's opinion while Jessica wasn't here. Honestly, she's the one organizing my things and helping me to choose what is the best quality for buying items." Embarrassed, Nina told Kristina honestly. But it's better to have more people to shop around than being alone with Steven. 
Kristina seemed to weigh things at first. Later, she accepted Nina's invitation. "Sure! Since I have nothing to do in the morning." 
"Great, then!" said Nina, her eyes caught Harry is gaping at her tenderly. She smiled at him before she lowered her gaze and returned to eating. 
From then on, the tension has lifted. Grateful at Seth, keep throwing lousy jokes and Nina laughing hard. 
After the merry lunch halfway, Nina volunteered to help wash the dishes. But Kristina and Lucy did not allow her. Honestly, they couldn't help staring at her creamy smooth hands. They are guessing Nina is not used to doing any house chores, and she must have countless servants to do them. Even Steven is showing extra care not to let Nina do anything and always mentioning the servants coming back soon to take care of her. 
After they kicked her out in the kitchen, Nina went to the library and scanned the shelves to check out what books Shang has that she hasn't read yet. 
Nina read the title one by one; she found interesting books that she had not read yet. Dean Koontz wrote it. However, she couldn't reach it. 
"Which one do you want to read?" 
Asked the man standing behind her. Her heart freaked out. 'Harry!' 
Nina gulped. Now she could not think straight. Harry was just behind her, and this made her heart thumping crazily. 
"Which one do you prefer to read?" Harry asked Nina once again. He was waiting for her to respond, but she remained silent. "Nina?" 
She pressed her eyelids, letting Harry's sweet voice soothing throughout her nerves. Listening to his voice, she won't tire of hearing every word coming out of his mouth. She wishes for him to speak more, but she has to respond.
Stammering, she replied to Harry. "I... I am having a hard time which one I should read first," she reasoned out. Her face blushed pink when Harry chuckled. 
"Okay. How about these two books?" Harry reaches out for a book with the color blue and black covers. "You haven't read them yet?" asked Harry. 
Nina shaking her head, she averted her gaze from Harry. 'What is he doing?'
Nina bites her lower lip. Harry is looking at her with an intense gaze. It made her have difficulty breathing properly. Harry's presence is too much for her senses to take. Last night, she dreamed of him. 
In her dream, they were kissing. It must be what she dreamed about after she's thinking of Harry all night.
And all night, she cried until she fell asleep. And to forget what Steven did to her, it was Harry in her mind. She recalls the night they held hands while looking for a way out from the Horror House and those kisses they shared. 
If she hadn't had those memories, what Steven did to her last night and even from the last time, it would be a complete nightmare to her...

"Huh! What's going on?"

Leon looked at the body of Dean in shock. 

A faint light could be seen around Dean's body  revolving slowly. 

Dean's heart which had previously stopped beating, produced a 'Badump'. After the first beat, it sounded out again. Slowly, the beating rate increased and it soon stabilized. 

The most shocking thing to Leon was that, Dean's injuries were healing at a terrifying rate. He could literally see the spot on Dean's back which was punctured by something when his body landed heavily on the floor closing slowly. 

"How can this be?"

With his mouth wide open, he continued watching what seemed to be an unbelievable event unfolding right before him. Even if the best alchemist in the county concocted his best healing pill, it wouldn't have such effects. Dean would still need at least a month or so before his injuries would be fully healed. 

....

Inside Dean's consciousness... 

Two souls were currently in a tug of war, fighting for who will occupy the body. But one of them won't last long because its light was starting to fade. 

The fading soul was the original occupier of the body. The other soul on the other hand, was the transmigrated soul of Dean who died on Earth. 

After his dead, a strange phenomenon happened. A light suddenly shone on the dead body and something or someone grab his soul which was about to cross to the underworld. Covered with a mysterious light, the soul passed through countless dimensions and suddenly appeared here, where it shot towards the body of the just dead Dean. 

During the entire process, Dean wasn't aware of what was going on. Even now that his soul was battling to occupy this soon to be empty shell, he still didn't know what was happening. 

The struggle went on for some more time, and the original soul's light started getting fainter. Dean was unwillingly, he didn't want to die now. He also felt remorseful, his death will be detrimental to his mother, his father, and his best friend. 

Why was he this weak, why didn't he focus on cultivating more. He hated himself, he even dragged down Leon with him. He knew just how talented Leon was, but because of his shenanigans, Leon didn't focus on cultivating and rather joined him on them. 

Had they been strong, they wouldn't have been chased by those people. 

But now, everything had ended, he was dead. With no way to ever make it up to his family, and to Leon. But just as his soul was about to completely diminish, he gathered every single strength that was left in him and sent his last thoughts to the new soul which was about to occupy his body.

Dean slowly started regaining consciousness. But he didn't open his eyes immediately though, it's not that he didn't want to, but he couldn't. 

Because something unheard of was happening to him currently. He saw a person who looks almost identical to himself but with a fairer skin, more handsomer, and longer hair. 

"Hello, I'm Dean, the original owner of this body. It's kinda weird saying that though"

Dean said the last part with a sad smile. 

"It's surprising I still have my consciousness even though I'm dead, but seems likes it will fade soon. I have a message for you"

"I wanted to tell you about my life story, but my time is limited, so I'll only tell you about what I want from you. I know you're not obligated to do it since it doesn't really have anything to do with you. It might be important to the body, but not the new soul"

'I didn't know souls could cry'

This was what ran through the head of the Dean as he watched the soul cry. 

'I've read too many novels now I'm starting to see things, and even believing them also'

At first, seeing all this, his mind went to those novels he had read previously. 

Naturally, as a youth in the modern world, if you don't read wuxia or xiaxia novels, then what sought of boring life are you living? Animes are also a must! 

"Also, there's a high chance Leon will find out. If there's no choice, then you should let him know about this"

"If you can, please don't disappoint my family, and also Leon"

This was the last statement the soul said. 

Just as Dean's soul was about to completely diminish, something none of them noticed, happened. The soul which was supposed to leave the body completely, didn't. Rather, it turned into a very faint dot and moved to a hidden corner in the consciousness. 

But the soul was already in a state where it doesn't know what is happening anymore, it was supposed to extinguish, but it didn't. 

'*Aish* I think I will have to stop reading for some time, it's totally messing with my head now. Like it is possible to transmigrate to another world? Those are just fantasies we all wish for, even, I, don't mind transmigrating to a world were people could fly. I mean, how fucking awesome is that?!'

'Wait, how come I can move my body so freely. I remember falling off a cliff, or could it be I didn't die? Yeah, that's most likely the case. I must have been in a coma for a while now'

'Seems like those bastards found my body in time and rushed me to the hospital. But I must say, the bed of this hospital is quite strong'

Not feeling the expected softness a bed should have, Dean tried to open his eyes. Knowing he didn't die filled his heart with joy. Now he wanted to see the world again, his friends, parents, and also his girlfriend. 

Slowly opening his eyes, he was shocked by the scenery. He was currently laying flat on his back in a forest. Looking around, he was confident he hasn't seen this place before, there were gigantic trees everywhere and there was a handsome looking youth who seemed to be around fifteen years old staring at him with a joyous expression. 

'I don't remember seeing this kid before'

Dean scratched his head. 

But when his hands touched his head, he froze. 

'WTF! How did my hair get this long?!'

After the shock, he recovered. 

'Maybe it grew longer during the time I was in a coma'

He thought. 

Staring at his hands, he got an even bigger fright. His hands were smaller than they used to be. 

'How's this possible?'

Dean's mind was racing. 

Seeing the weird expressions Dean was making, Leon couldn't help but feel something was wrong. And there was also that look Dean gave him, it was as if he was looking at a stranger. 

A young man dies, and his soul transmigrates into another world. With his new body, he starts his journey to the peak of the world. 

Okay, wait, wrong script...

We've seen this countless times, the MC dies and transmigrates to another world(mostly cultivation worlds) and starts his/her journey to the peak. But... what about his/her friends in this new world? 

Follow the journey of Leon, who finds a shocking secret after his dead friend suddenly came back to life. The body of his friend was occupied by a soul from another dimension, a place called Earth. 

His normal life took a turn, and with a new conviction after witnessing the death of his friend, he will rise to reign supreme, with his new transmigrated friend, of course.

A boy about 10-12 years old, wearing weathered clothes, was lying on the floor. He has a skinny frame for his age with sky blue unkempt hair like that of a certain fox-child from a popular anime on Earth. His eyes are navy blue and when you look into them you can see a vast sky full of possibilities. He is the reincarnated gamer, Dean Jones.
 
He has rope marks around his neck and his body has bruises from face to toe.
 
"Ughh! Fuck that shit! Throwing me down like that! Huh?!" as Dean was slowly recovering from a slight headache, he looked around the decrepit hut. Hanging above his head was a rope tied at the wood by the ceiling.
 
Dean guessed what happened to the owner of the body that he is currently using and sure enough, the boy committed suicide.
 
Dean has finally recovered and thought, "In novels, the host of the reincarnation can inherit the memories of the previous owner of the body right? Let's wait and see if there is something."
 
Dean sat up and closed his eyes expecting to receive the memories of the boy and prepared his self for the headache while receiving it like in other novels.
 
After an hour...
 
"Uhh, guess not? So no memories? What the hell! I knew it! Those novels can't be trusted!! Fuck!" Dean couldn't help but curse. He decided to stop and observe this new world.
 
Dean tried to move his body and surprisingly, other than the visible bruises, there seemed to be nothing wrong with his body.
 
While he was observing his body he spotted an image of a grinning mask with dark eyes and red pupils on his left arm. It has two protruding teeth like that of a certain Fishman warrior on a popular anime on Earth.
 
"A tattoo?" Dean mumbled.
 
"Hey! hey! you there Dean? Mic testing!!!" a voice coming out of nowhere emerged.
 
"Holy shit!" Dean jumped in fright and looked around warily.
 
"Wait! This feels familiar?" Dean figured.
 
"Hell yeah, it is! We've done this a couple of minutes ago! Pu*sy!" The voice stated with a chuckle.
 
"Joe?! Holy shit! I thought you're going to heaven after your soul dissipated?! Wait! Where are you?! How can I not see you?! And why can you read my mind?!" Dean spoke loudly with a hint of surprise.
 
"Uhh, one at a time! God damn! How can I answer every question you spew if your mouth is like a fucking machine gun?! Are you my mom?!" Joe said exasperatedly.
 
And as if he remembered something, "And you are going to heaven! Your whole family is going to heaven! Fuck!!" Joe added angrily.
 
"Okay, I don't have much time because my voice will be the only thing remaining after a few minutes so let's do this fast," Joe said mysteriously.
 
"I am in your soul right now and in any minute my consciousness will dissipate and ascend to heaven only leaving my voice as your "newbie guide".
 
This voice will be the voice of your "gaming system". There are only 3 functions of the gaming system, "Status" "Tattoo" and "Combo". For now, you can only use "Status" where you can see your current body's status in numerical values just like in a game. "Tattoo" lets you see the level and growth of your tattoo ability and "Combo"... well, this is your gift. Unfortunately, you can only use this after reaching the "White Brand 5th Mark" rank.
 
Oh, by the way, there are 9 major Tattooed levels or what is commonly known as "Brand". At every Brand level, there are 5 minor levels called "Mark".
 
The 9 Major Brands are Gray, White, Blue, Green, Golden, Blood, Bestial, Demonic, and Myth with 5 Marks in each Brands.
 
The Brand levels are divided into 3 realms. From Gray to Blue Brand, natives call them "Blessed". From Green to Blood Brand, they call them "Tattooed Kings". And from Bestial to Demonic Brand they are called "Tattooed Legends", they are the peak experts of the continent that you are in."
 
"Wait! What about the Myth Brand?" Dean eagerly asked.
 
"They are on a completely different realm and not one can be found on the continent that you are in, they were once called "History of the Tattooed". You will understand soon why the realm was called like that. So stop asking questions that are far away from you." Joe answered impatiently.
 
"Let me continue. In every major Brand level, you will have an option to get another tattoo or you can choose to upgrade your innate tattoo. By the way, your innate tattoo is that mask. Getting another tattoo is much easier than upgrading your innate one, you will understand that in the future." Joe continued.
 
"Beware though, getting a tattoo needs to be with someone with a job description of "Artist" on their system and the "Artist" needs to be one major Brand level higher than you. A fake tattoo would be considered a huge crime and you will be pursued by soldiers, mercenaries, the kingdom, and even the bestial race until kingdom come." Joe casually added.
 
"There are thousands of different jobs in this world like the "Artist" and do not think that only you have a system! Because there are reincarnated "immortal" gamers here in the world that has unique systems and even natives can have systems of their own when reaching Blue Brand albeit weaker with only the first 2 functions," Joe stated.
 
"Ughh... So much information, if only I have my laptop." Dean mumbled.
 
"You don't have to worry, this information is saved in your system. So, just listen." Joe said.
 
"Now, for the most important thing, tattoo skills." As soon as Joe said that, Dean's eyes started to shine.
 
"Tattoo skills are categorized as Beast Tattoo, Tool Tattoo, Text Tattoo and the rarest, "The Abstracts". They are further divided into branches, these are:

While The Abstracts' skill usage has millions of possibilities so they do not have any branches. they are also called "Geniuses" because of their innate tattoo." Joe concluded.
 
"Ohh, by the way, you can never have an abstract tattoo if you are not born with it no matter how strong the Artist is. The Artist's arsenal of tattoos is limited. They cannot create a tattoo out of nowhere so you need to choose wisely" Joe added.
 
"So, I only have a Tool Tattoo? And I can't even use it now. Sigh!" Dean muttered dejectedly.
 
"Hehe!" Joe smirked. "That is one of your gift, including the "Combo" function you have 3 "newbie gifts", so never think of it as weak because that will be your most trusted partner starting today."
 
Dean was stunned and entered into deep contemplation while murmuring something.
 
"Now listen! Let me tell you about Tattoolandia's structure. There are only 3 continents that are inhabited or friendly with humans and 2 continents with different and hostile races, with each larger than Earth itself. These are "N" Continent or the North, "S" Continent or the South where you are currently. And the Glory Continent in the middle which is 2 times larger than Earth and where all glorious warriors live and die. There are also the East and West continents which are under the Beast Race and the Demon Race respectively." Joe said.
 
"Oh fuck I forgot!" Joe said dramatically.
 
"Huh? What is it?" Dean asked.
 
"Your Status, Tattoo, and Combo functions can be upgraded too. Let's say, for example, your Status function levels up to 2, it will then give you the ability to see the status of an item or a person weaker than your current Rank albeit vaguely. As you level this function, more uses can be discovered, so do take note of that. Tattoo function would be able to let you know how to improve your innate tattoo and other tattoos by showing the materials or specific training methods used for the tattoo. You need to keep in mind that the Tattoo function is the lifeline of your tattoos."
 
"Your Combo function is special and you need to figure it out yourself, and as I said, it can level up," Joe emphasized.
 
"mMm, I understand." Dean nodded.
 
"Hey, Joe when you said 3 "newbie gifts" I only heard you mentioning the Combo function and my Tool tattoo but what's the 3rd one?" Dean asked doubtfully.
 
Joe's face turned serious and said dramatically, "The 3rd one would be the most precious and the most invaluable gift."
 
Dean tensed up.
 
"THAT IS MY VOICE," Joe said loftily with pride.
 
Dean stared blankly in space with his mouth wide open for a couple of seconds before he started spewing profanities.
 
"Okay! okay! okay! I'm just joking! Fuck! Can you stop!! Listen! It was only 2 gifts okay?! Fuck! Can't you even take a joke!" Joe bellowed.
 
After the two of them calmed down, Joe said with sincerity, "This may not be used as a weapon for your future fights but my voice is indeed a gift not from anyone else but myself."
 
Dean nodded calmly with a slight smile on his face.
 
"My voice can be used as a reminder of your old world, your friends, your enemies, your glory, and your last moments on Earth. May you not lost your past self, your past glory. The Emperor of the Empire! Farewell!"
 
After hearing Joe saying that, Dean seemed to enter into a trance but quickly recovered after hearing Joe's voice slowly fading.
 
"Joe, I owe you a lot," Dean said silently.
 
He did not say a lot of things but Joe felt the gratitude and sadness Dean was feeling. He, as a driver for the Empire Club for 15 years and a friend will be parting today without seeing nor hearing each other again forever.
 
As Joe's consciousness was fading, he said, "Dean, the Blazers have immortal..." but he was not able to continue as if his voice was restricted by something, and his consciousness slowly dissipated.
 
Startled, Dean's eyes opened wide, and suddenly he laughed out loud, a strange glint passed his eyes and after a few seconds he calmly muttered, "So it seems."
 
He then started to reorganize everything that he acquired and learned in his mind while still sitting with closed eyes.
 
Suddenly his eyes slowly reopened, his aura changed. An air of resolve and conviction is emanating from his demeanor. For his friends, for Joe, and to his enemies.
 
"Now Status!" Joe said in his mind.
 
Suddenly an image of a game-like status window popped up on Dean's mind so he closed his eyes and concentrate.
 
BEEP!
 
"Owner Status: "

"I am Dean Jones, the best "pro" player on Earth. 

I played games since I was 7 years old. 

Be it online or offline games, RPG, Puzzle, Simulation, or any genre of games, I am always the best when I play it. 

For 20 years, I was crowned as the greatest "immortal" gamer. 

Even the World Government built a museum for my achievements on all the games my IGN was a part of. Until that fated day..."

"A sham again." Saying so Dean threw the book in his hand to his bed as he walked out of his room in frustration.
Life was extremely lacklustre for Dean.
How there came a point where life seemed extremely colourless for him?
There was simply nothing interesting to him anymore in life.
Maybe it was due to his hobby being a major influence, or maybe it was because he had no friends because of how he looked.
His only comfort was his PC- which contained the bookmark of all his favourite anime, manga, novel, and collections of games he played.
Being a loner, these were the only thing he had to be called friends.
He wanted more than being in a normal world. The amount of time he spent on his hobby made him desire a world with magic to master the very elements or a world with Qi to cultivate and become immortal.
Yet the truth was harsh, and he was stuck in here, amongst normality.
He had brought a book named 'Ritual of wishes' from an antique store while passing by it yesterday. He had closed his eyes and made the wish to transport to a magical world.
However, when he opened his eyes he realised he had just lost the money he spent on the book.
He knew the book was a scam, but still, a part of him wanted it to be true, hence the reason why he bought it.
Dragging his heavy body out of the door he to go out and buy some snacks for his all-nighter.
He pulled his head back into his hood seeing the glazing sun of noon.
He walked on the pavement watching the cars go by.
The traffic was much higher due to it being lunch break for most people working.
Suddenly a shrill scream awakened him from his daze.
"Ahh! My bag!" He turned around to see what was happening.
"Get out of my way fat-ass!" However, before he could do anything he felt a heavy force hitting his shoulders, pushing him back.
He saw a man grunting as he ran past him holding a bag that definitely belonged to a woman.
Before he could react he felt a loud horn followed by something hitting him heavily. Next thing he remembered was flying amidst intense pain, then he lost his conscious.
He felt warmth filling him.
He slowly opened his eyes.
He was inside a white room.
Standing in front of him was a person who he could only describe in 2 words.
Smoking Hot!
Her blonde silky hair matched perfectly with the brilliant white chiton cloth. Strangely an aura of warmth and happiness radiated from her.
However, her concerned face did not match with her presence.
Her blaring blue eyes fell upon him.
"Oh, you are awake." A sweet voice entertained his ears.
The women in front of him tried putting a smile on her face. However, he could see it failing due to the worry and concern taking a major portion of her emotions.
"This may come as a shock to you, but I am sorry you died!" The women apologised in front of him.
Strangely instead of feeling shocked or scared, he was extremely calm and serene.
The women waited for a while before saying. "You took that extremely well for a mortal, Dean?"
For the first time since he woke up, he opened his mouth. "You have no idea how many times I have envisioned and practised for this scenario. So, it is normal for me to be calm." I replied proudly that my otaku training paid off.
The moment I saw her weird clothing and the weird room I was in; I had felt a rush of excitement. This was what I have been waiting for my whole life.
The women paused for a while, probably doing what all gods do in novels at this time "That is true. You are a strange one, Dean, practising and longing after something you could maybe have never got." The women smiled awkwardly amidst her worries, after probably reading his mind.
"Umm, can you please tell me what happened?" I asked respectfully while keeping my mind clear of any thoughts.
Usually, in many novels, scenarios like this often lead to the MC being in the presence of a divinity. The first rule when in front of divinity is to be aware that they can read your mind.
The women tried pulling a smile again before saying "Well there wasn't much to it, you simply died after that thief pushed you into an oncoming car. Then you are here."
"Did I come here because I died too early or something along the line? Or was it because of that weird ritual book?" I asked excitedly, this was how the novels usually went.
The beautiful divine being looked at him strangely for a moment, before giggling. "No Dean. You died where and when you were meant to. Also, that book was a sham."
"Then why I am I here?" Dean asked her in confusion.
The women in front of him suddenly brought her serious face-up. "Dean, can you please help me out?"

The goddess Lucy or also known as The Almighty One here had requested him to become her champion and with the help of her other champions to defeat the dark one, threatening the existence of all being in one of her world.
Apparently the gods themselves cannot act due to their mere presence causing more destruction to the world than the ones they are trying to stop. So instead they choose champions who act for them.
The other gods had chosen their champions, however, they all failed to accomplish their mission and perish. Hence they all turned towards Lucy.
She had chosen him because of his extremely strong soul, which was needed as a vessel to carry her power.
Ultimately Dean had agreed to her request, due to this being one of his lifelong dreams.
The only problem was he was stuck in the body of an infant. The reason being along the line of his power needs to gradually grow along with him or something.
Lucy had apparently dropped him in a remote village, where he can safely grow in power. She promised him he will be safe till someone took him in.
Lying amidst the thick comfort of the blanket, Dean still could not believe he was in a situation he has always been desiring,
Before being sent here Lucy had warned him of the extreme danger of the world and not to take it lightly. He naturally understood, after all, it wouldn't be an easy world if the gods had to send multiple champions to take care of their problems and still fail. 
"System are you there?" He mentally asked while waiting for someone in the village to notice him as the sun slowly rose.
"I am here host. What would you like from me?" The system was the blessing, or the power Lucy had given him.
"Show me my status." Excitement welled upon him as suddenly a blue screen appeared in front of him.

He understood the reason why his health and stamina being low due to him being an infant. But what was all this about his magi being zero as well.
"System why is my magi 0?" Dean asked.
"Host hasn't activated the magi particles in him hence its 0." Hearing the response Dean became quiet for a while before moving on.
"Can you show me the menu, System?" Dean requested the intelligent system.

To his dismay inventory was greyed out meaning he could not access it.
"System why is the inventory blocked?"
"Host has to unlock the inventory." The system replied back in an annoyed voice as if implying is that not obvious.
"How do I unlock it then?" He asked back in equal annoyance.
"When I judge it's the right time." The A.I of the system replied before going silent no matter how much outcry Dean poured out.
Realising it is futile he decided to explore each of his available options.
First, he chose stats.

"System can you explain these stats to me?" Dean asked the system mentally.
"Sure host. Physical represents your overall physical condition. Improving it means improving your overall physical condition like how much you can lift, how much force you can exert in 1 punch, your health etc. Increase this if you want to be an extremely buff person.
Agility represents your nimbleness along with your finesse interactions with delicate or small objects. Improving it means increasing how well you can control your limbs, movement speed, your stamina etc. Increase this if you want to be an extremely agile or dexterous person.
Spiritual represent your control over non-physical matters. Increasing this means increase control or capacity over spiritual matters. Increase this if you want to be like a mage. Remember increasing this is pointless if you have not managed to unlock it first.
Stat points are points used to increase your stats manually. They can be earned from levelling up and quest rewards.
Remember stats can also be increased by training them or from other methods or resources."
It did not take long for him to understand the stat screen due to his previous experience with playing games.
Quickly he went back and chose the next option, skills.
However, what he saw next dismayed him.

It was empty with just 1 line.
"System why is the skill section empty?"
"Because you need to acquire skills either by training or by buying them from the store."
"Then what is the skill points for?"
"To improve the grade of your skills. Skill points can only be earned from level-ups and from quest rewards."
"Grade?" He asked in confusion.
"Skills, items, and many other things are categorised in grades. There are 8 grades: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet and Rainbow.
A Rainbow grade item/skill is unimaginably more powerful than their red grade counterpart." Having understood the explanation Dean moved onto the next section quest.
Unfortunately, he did not have any quest hence it was empty, so he moved onto the next thing, shop.

Before he could ask the system answered his questions "Think of what you want according to their grade host and I will display the result to you.
However, to buy anything from the store host is required to have system coin, which you can acquire from completing quests."
Dean following what the system told him and thought of an item and what grade he wanted them to be.
Suddenly the screen showed the result.

Dean sighed seeing the price.
Suddenly he was awoken from his concentration by a sudden shout "SERENA! Come here quickly!"

It was 3am in the morning, reading a novel about a kid who was given powers by God to save this world from danger. I may not look it but I like these kind of stories, everything about fantasy and mysteries are my forte.

I was reading a chapter about these two characters (ash and Diana), they may not know that they liked each other but I do. When you see people falling in love we support it, even if it someone we like it can't be avoided. We are always chosen last :).

Its hard to accept it but hey you know what they say "follow your heart we may feel some regret but atleast we're happy" we will only feel a little regretti because we are happy. Happiness is a mask for sadness :). 

"follow your heart huh" I muttered to myself while closing the novel. Maybe this author experienced something like regretting his decisions in the past, problems, sadness or maybe even depression.

"I guess he did manage to escape reality by creating this book" I gently wipe across the books cover page. Maybe some day I too can live in my own fantasy. 

I turned off the my lamp and went to bed, looked at my ceiling. If only someone could rescue me from this world we live in. This place sucks.

I opened my eyes and got up "12pm huh, another boring day to start" I've done my usual routine from showering and cleaning my bed. It was 1pm when I prepared myself some eggs and bacon. It is not breakfast time but fuck it who cares. 

My tummy was rumbling saying that I should eat already instead of scrolling on Facebook,seeing everyone having fun and all makes me sick. Hehe kidding.

I was eating egg, bacons with rice then suddenly my phone vibrated, I open it up and someone sent me a friend request on Facebook. Jake kaden, I guess he added me huh. How did he know about this. Stalker.... 

Eventually I accepted it after I was done eating. Tidying my table and dropping these dirty plates in the sink "I guess I will wash it later" 

After finding the comfortable spot on my couch, grabbed my pillow and phone, open messenger and tried to chat him.

I drop my phone and went to my collection of novels, my eyes and fingers are zooming through each and every one of my novels. A novel I haven't read in years caught my eye, I pulled it, wiped the dust on it and read the title. 

"a little like fate" a story about a girl who wants to commit suicide because of her rough past, she's the quiet and lonely kid in class, eating her lunch alone and avoiding talking to people. It's not because no one wants her, she decided that herself. Until one boy who also wants to commit suicide approached her. They talked about their past and problems, having the thought of committing suicide they both decided to do it together. They eventually fall in love after some time "is love really that life changing" I doubt it, even for someone like me is it possible that I too would fall in love with someone. Come and test me fate, let us see what you can do. 

Talking to myself is a hobby of mine, I talk to myself almost everytime. Yeah I have friends but I'll never forget to talk to myself. Hehe. 

The door bell rang, I rushed to the door and opened it. 

"yow wassup" jake greeted me with a cool look on his face, even tho I can sense that his embarrass right now. 

"heyy jake, so what are you doing here anyways" I replied, slowly came outside and talk to him. 

"are you busy ??" he asked. Oh is he taking me on a date. 

"not at the moment, why do you asked??" 

"if you're free would you like to visit my library, where I create novels and such" my blood is rushing through my veins with excitement right now. 

"of course I would!!!" I shouted. 

I grab his jacket with both of my hands, with whole excitement I kept on talking about how I would love to go there. 

"can I we go right now!?????" 
"I really love libraries you know!??!?!" 
"can we, can we, can we!?!?!?" 

At that moment I realize I was so close to his face right now, I could see his blushing and so am I. 

I let go of his jacket, both of us are embarrass right now it's because of me. Sigh. 

"I'm sorry, I was just too excited" I smiled at him while playing with my hair. 

"n-no it's fine, I totally get how you feel right now, who wouldn't be excited to see a library right???!??!" he placed his hand at the back of his neck and started to chuckle. 

"hehehe... Well I'm going to change my clothes first would you mind waiting???" I replied. 

"y-yeah sure" 

"thanks give me 10 minutes" 

"alright" he replied. 

I closed my door and went straight to my wardrobe. I was sliding my fingers in each every clothes I have, picking the perfect one for a library tour. Library date that is hehe. 

I manage to pick the right one the suits the library. I grab my brown t-shirt and skirt, lastly my black beret. I twirled around "Now this is suitable for going to the library" .I hope he likes it. 

After 10 minutes, I opened the door and asked him "so how do I look" 

"like... A dead insect" 

A what!!!! "I don't look like an insect you know" 

"you're.... A wonderful butterfly" I blushed when he said that. I-I guess. 

"awww thanks" 

"shall we go" he replied. 

"indeed" indeed what the fuck is that response.

We exited the dorms, across the street I saw what looks like a motorbike 
"is this yours?" I asked. 

"yeah I just bought this last week" 

He gets on the bike, I followed " hear wear this before we get going" he handed me a helmet for protection. 

"grab on to me so you don't fall alright" I hold on around his waist, he started the bike and we went off.

An hour later we arrive at his house. I got off the bike and looked around his garden "your house is massive" 

"this is where I make my novels, my family also lives here but they are away from vacation" he replied. 

"so I'm guessing your house has its own library then??" I asked. 

"yep, let's go in" 

We entered the door and saw this long hallway, we were greeted by the butler along the way. Are you sure this is not a mansion. 

"we took a left turn, he opens the door" and there I saw his huge row of shelves full of books and novels, at the center is a medium size globe. 

"this place is amazing jake !!" I run off to one of the shelves and tried to fine a story that interests me. 

"pic atleast five stories you want to take home" my fingers stop, I turned around and looked at him. I stared at him for five seconds and then jumped with joy in my face. 

"you serious" I replied with joy. 

"well to be honest none of them are even publish yet, I'm just creating stuff for my own fun. Now I met a reader like you, I'm going todo is pick atleast 2 or 3 of them that you liked then I'm going to publish it. Deal??" he replied. 

"deal!!!" 

I already picked five novels to read for him, it was already 4pm and we went to the dining table to eat lunch. Jake told his butler to make us grilled cheese sandwiches. Grilled cheese yummy. 

We sat on the bench swing under the tree at their backyard and started munch down on our grilled cheese. 

"so Jake, why do you live in your dorm if you have a house this big or rather a mansion" I asked 

"I wouldn't say this is a mansion but it is big enough to be one. I don't want to live in a place like this if I have to go to school, first of all its tiring and second I don't want to stand out just because I'm famous" 

"you just wanted to be a regular student right???" 

"yeah" 

Both of us continued to munch down on our grilled cheese, but when I looked at his last grilled cheese there's something sticking out. 

"hey what's that?? , there's something sticking out on your grilled cheese" 

"oh this I put onions on mine" 

Did I heard that correctly?? "you put onions on yours??" 

"hmm yeah something wrong???" 

"clearly there's something wrong, who puts onions on grilled cheese??" I gave him a smug looked.

"but hey I liked it" he replied. 

"I'm sure it tastes weird" 

"here take a bite out of mine" indirect kiss??!?!?!!?!. 

"u-uhm sure" I took a bite out of his grilled cheese with onions. 

"I guess its not that bad but not too good as well" 

" I appreciated it, but hey we both have our own different likings right??" he smiled. 

"you're right" I smiled back at him. 

We were done eating, we've been under this swinging bench for an hour now. We're just passing time since I'm about to head home at five o'clock. 

"cloud gazing huh" 

"yep I like to cloud gaze everytime I'm outside of my house or dorm" he replied. 

" see that one" he pointed up in the sky "it looks like an egg" 

"oh that one" I pointed "looks like a flower" 

"there you go, being an author needs to have a huge imagination. That's how I started, from cloud gazing to becoming an author. A dream I've never expected"

"that's cool" I replied. 

"yahh"

It was already for me to head home, once again we rode his bike to take me home. After a while I was already outside of my dorm. 

"hey thanks for today" I smiled and hugged him. 

"I-its nothing, I'm glad you enjoyed it, see you soon I guess" 

"yeahh, I have to meet up with my parents and stay there for a while, before class starts again" 

"well I have to go now happy new year karin" 

"happy new year jake" he got on his bike and left.

A few days has passed and it's already new year "heyy guysss happy new year!!!!" I was video chatting with my best friends. We ended it already, because we still have to celebrate new year with our families. 

I sat down, grabbed my phone and food, before I ate I chatted jake

"hey jakee happy new year!!!" 

I chatted him and proceeded to eat my food. Several hours had passed, it was already 4am I was kinda drunk but not too drunk. I realize I was on my desk of my bedroom. Guessing my mom carried me here.

I was about to shut my eyes again and fall sleep then that's when I felt it, someone tapped on my shoulder but no one was there. After that I looked around realizing im the only one here. I went back to sleep and eventually forgot about it.

Days had passed, one week left till school starts again, I was on my way back to my dorms from my our house just another 3 hours of riding a bus and walking. 

I stepped foot on the gateway of the dormitory and headed straight to my dorm. There I was standing there seeing my front door with stacked books or novels in front of my door. 

Rushing towards it I saw a note taped into one of the novels.

"if you're seeing this by any chance karin, this is for you as my new years gift though I won't be seeing you anytime soon. So I've decided to take some novels or books that fit your interest have fun. Also read the other letter stuck in " burning desires page 2"

Thanks jake, I wonder why didn't he chatted me about this. 

An hour passed, it's just me and the novels stacked in front of my bedroom. 

Let me see 2nd page of burning desires huh. There I opened the novel, the letter fell on the floor and I grabbed it. Proceeded to read it. 

"hey karin, if you're reading this then.... I'm sorry, the reason why those books are infront of your door means only one thing. I'm gone..." 

Tears came down my eyes, continued of what it's left of the letter. 

"it means my parents already read the letter, good... Before I came to pick you up on your house I already prepared all of this. It wasn't really that hard to think of everything you know hehehe. Well anyways sorry but I'm gone forever, I gave a letter to cody incase my parents called him so he went to my house and read the letter I left him, if something bad happens. I guess it already did huh. Which is why you have those books. In the end no one knew where I have gone, I could be dead maybe??."

"I just wanted to say sorry, goodbye forever karin and thanks♥️" 

My legs started to shake, I fell down on the floor and started to cry "even if we just met I never got to tell you that I love you" I guess love at first sight truly does exist huh. I wiped my tears and took care of everything, when school started I gave the letter to cody, he also cried and said that he would give the letter to Jakes parents. 

He borrowed it and returned it after a week, I live the rest of my 2nd year before 3rd year started after several months.

Karin's pov :

"so that's it, that's my Christmas love story" Dean was getting some tissues for Heather and reanna. 

"t-that was sad" Heather replied. 

"so in the end you never knew what happened to him huh" Dean added. 

"sadly yeahh, there have been rumors that he was killed, people saw his motorbike once. They expected it that he was actually killed" I replied. 

Reanna kept crying at that night, we ended our stories there, we just stargaze the whole night after that. 

It was 3am when I heard Dean talking from outside, minutes later I got up and checked it , I decided to get out of our tent, there I saw Dean roasting some marshmallows. 

I yawned "you still up Dean" 

"yeah just stargazing by myself, want to join??" 

"sure!"

 Sina Bei Yanqing at Evil Ice ay pumasok sa villa, at nakita na may isang yungib sa loob.  Ang dekorasyon ay hindi maluho, ngunit ito ay marilag kahit saan.  Pagpasok pa lang ng Evil Ice sa pintuan, isang malaking presyon ang dumating kay Evil Ice.  Ang Evil Ice ay maaaring Makita ang presyur na ito nang walang masamang hangarin, lihim niyang dinala ang Guiyuan Burning Sky Art upang labanan ang presyon.

 Sampung minuto ang lumipas, malaya pa rin itong makitungo ni Evil Ice, marinig lamang ang matandang tinig, at agad na dumoble ang presyon.  Bagaman medyo masipag ang Evil Ice, hindi ito isang malaking problema.  Sampung minuto ang lumipas, at ang noo ni Xie Bing ay umapaw ng pawis ...


 
 Hindi nakakagulat, ang presyon ay dumoble sa isang iglap, sinubukan ni Xie Bing ng husto upang pigilan ang presyon, unti-unting namumula ang kanyang mukha, lalong tumubo ang pawis niya, at nakita niya si Bei Yanqi na tumatalon sa pagkabalisa, at hindi siya naglakas-loob na magsalita.

 Sampung minuto ang lumipas, at agad na humupa ang presyon, ngunit naramdaman lamang ni Xie Bing na "coaxed" sa oras na ito, ang buong katawan ay hindi masabi na komportable, at naramdaman niya ang pagulong ng lakas ng kaluluwa. Tumatagal ng isang araw at isang gabi para sa mga ordinaryong tao upang umasenso mula sa sekta ng kaluluwa patungo sa santa ng kaluluwa, ngunit tumagal lamang ng kalahating oras para sa bata na nasa harapan nila upang maisulong ang hakbang?

Victoria had me tied up like I was some dog she can just torture, but as I heard the door open and hear someone's voice, I immediately screamed for help. I know, I know, I'm meant to be a man but at a time like this, I had no choice.

Anyway, he answered the door and saw that my eyes were filled with nightmares, "dude, what happened to you? you look like you saw Michael Jackson but as a prostitute".

He wasn't wrong though, now that I think of it, I knidn of fell like that but, "nevermind that, is it okay that I stay here for the night? can't go back to mine".

He let me in and I hid.

I loved the Game so much that I was desperate to write a novel on it but the characters have different names but same features.
