Halos hindi maipinta ang pag-mumukha ni Tanaga ng buksan niya ang pintuan. Lalo na at naistorbo ang kanilang honeymoon, kaya handa siyang singhalan ang Custom Officer na nasa kanyang harapan.

Pagkatapos niyang suriin si Ashley, biglang nag-iba ang kanyang itsura. Ngumiti ang Custom Officer ng para bang nakakaloko. Dahil sa isip niya si Ashley ay isang bayarang babae at nagsisinungaling lang ang mayordomo at kapitan ng barko na bagong kasal ang mga ito at nasa kanilang honeymoon.
Magsasalita na sana ang Custom Officer, pero naunahan siya ni Tanaga at natameme siyang bigla.
"Gusto kong malaman mo na hindi ko gusto ang ginawa mong pananakot sa aming mag-asawa. Hindi ba sinabi sa iyo kung sino ako? Ang lakas ng loob mong mangatok na akala mo eh karapatan ka?!" Galit na sinabi ni Tanaga sa Custom Officer.
"Sige! Bumalik na kayo sa mess hall at susunod kaming mag-asawa." Utos ni Tanaga sa mayordomo at sa Custom Officer. Sasagot pa sana ang custom officer, kaya lang ay sinaraduhan na sila ng pintuan ni Tanaga.
Habang naglalakad ang mayordomo at ang custom officer pabalik sa mess hall, hindi nakatiis ang Custom Officer at nagtanong sa mayordomo. "Talaga bang mag-asawa yung dalawa? Dahil kung nagsisinungaling sila, pwede ko silang kasuhan at matali ang yatch na ito dito sa Pilipinas." Mayabang na sinabi ng Custom Officer.
Biglang tumaas ang kilay ni mayordomo sa sinabi ng Custom Officer. Ganon pa man, hindi niya ito sinagot at dire-diretso lang ang lakad niya papunta sa mess hall. 'Antayin mo na lang kung ano ang mangyayari sa iyo pag natapos si bossing. Hahaha!' Sa isip ni mayordomo.
Mga kalahating oras ding pinag-antay ni Tanaga ang Custom Officer bago sila dumating ni Ashley. Ang hindi alam ng custom officer ay tinawagan muna ni Tanaga ang isa sa mataas ang tungkulin na official sa custom para mag reklamo sa ginawa ng custom officer.
Nang malaman ito nang kanyang pinagreklamuhan, sinabihan siya na mag-antay muna ng mga kalahating oras at siya mismo ay pupunta doon. Kaya naman nag-antay muna sina Tanaga at Ashley na dumating ang kanyang kausap bago sila lumabas.
Tamang-tama na dumating sa Mess Hall si Tanaga at Ashley, siya namang dating ng taong kausap ni Tanaga. Biglang napatayo ang Custom Officer nang makita niya kung sino ang dumarating.
Si Tanaga na kapapasok lang ng mess hall kasama si Ashley ay biglang ngumiti at sinalubong ang paparating na Commissioner ng Bureau of Custom ng Pilipinas...
"Welcome! CEO Jones, how are you? Why didn't you tell me that you were coming, I could have been here earlier, and you would not have been subjected to this kind of treatment." Sabi ni Commissioner habang sila ay nag shakes hands ni Tanaga.
"Oh' I was not planning to come, but my wife and I decided to have our honeymoon here. By the way, I want you to meet my wife... This is Ashley." Pakilala ni Tanaga habang nakahawak siya sa bewang nito.
"Nice to meet you!" Bati ni Commissioner na halatang sinusuri si Ashley. "Kaninong pamilya kaya ito siya nanggaling? Kailangan malaman ko, baka sakaling makatulong balang araw." Sa isip ni Commissioner.
"Nice to meet you din po!" Bati naman ni Ashley na nakangiti ng napakaganda. Habang iniabot ang kanyang kamay para makipag shake hands din. Ang kaso mo, mabilis ang kamay ni Tanaga na inabot ang kamay ni Commissioner at hinila papunta sa upuan.
Pagka-upong pagka-upo ng Commissioner, dinalhan kaagad ito ni Mayordomo ng maiinom at pulutan. "Commissioner, tikman niyo po itong pulutan specialty ng chef ni boss."
Napatunga-nga si Custom Officer na nuong una ay kala mo kung sino. Pero nang makita niya kung pano halos halikan ni Commissioner ang puwetan ni Tanaga, bigla tuloy siyang pinagpawisan ng malamig...
Si Commissioner naman ay ni hindi man lang binati ang empleyado, basta na lang nagsimulang uminom at nakipag-tsikahan ke Tanaga at Ashley.
Mga ilang sandali lang ay tumayo si Tanaga at lumapit sa Custom Officer. "I'm sorry! I forgot that you were waiting for us..." Tinawag ni Tanaga si Ashley, "sweetheart, halika pala at kailangan tayong kausapin ni Custom Officer.
Nang marinig ito ni Commissioner, bigla itong tumayo at hinarap si Custom Officer. "Ano pa ang hinihintay mo, andito na ako! Wala ng ka nang kilangang pang gawin dito, kaya pwede ka nang umalis." Sabay hingi ng dispensa ke Tanaga...
Si mayordomo naman ay simpleng tumingin sa Custom Officer pagkatapos niyang silbihan si Commissioner. Sabay irap habang patalikod at lumabas ng Mess Hall.
'Magdasal ka na sa lahat ng santo, dahil siguradong tangal ka sa trabaho!' Sa isip ni mayordomo habang nakangiti itong naglalakad papunta sa kusina.

"Keke, amateur. This is my umpteenth arrival. I already know every characteristic and limited-edition menu provided here. If you are so confident with your remark, would you dare to accept my challenge for a custom pizza?" Brian sent his taunt but not offensive.
"What do you mean? Custom one?" Raylee didn't understand right away.

That name was given by a brave volunteer who had tried the least popular custom pizza based on the votes in the community." Brian grinned as if he was looking forward to something great.
Hearing that, Raylee had a bad feeling. He ultimately didn't know about it and immediately jumped into the decision.
However, that didn't mean he would take back what he had said. At that moment, he felt a light pat on the shoulder from the side. He turned sideways, and Ashton was there.

Raylee glanced at Elysia once again. She seemed excited to see him eat a custom pizza called shit mix something.
After convincing himself several times in mind, Raylee finally got the courage to open the serving cover. The strange aroma of a pizza that had just been cooked immediately came to his nose like a tidal wave of various kinds.

It smells like fish, then this one's like marshmallows--" Raylee pointed out the toppings and the like using a fork.
Brian, David, Ashton, and three muscular seniors just nodded as to say Raylee was right.
After a minute of identifying what was on the pizza, Raylee tapped the table while staring at the excited group. "--And again, it's mainly chili sauce, not tomato sauce. Do you want to torture me with this?"
"Well, it comes as Brian explained earlier. You have accepted it. And that's why we call you a brave man, Senior Raylee. No offense, okay? That's fine if you decide not to eat that custom pizza if you don't want to." Ashton shrugged his shoulders and presented a solution.

Raylee gave Brian a glare, contemplating revenge. Then, he put one slice of the dominant red pizza onto his plate and ate it.
Elysia sat back down between Evelyn and Ella. She and the others saw Raylee's face turn pale then slightly reddened, but he still ate it until one slice was finished.

Everyone turned their heads and stared at Yuu.

The woman who just let out a gasping sound turned her head towards Mr. L and said, "Isn't the custom Ageha-humans' system was created by Mr. L?"

"It is. I heard Mr. L was the first to receive custom Ageha-human," said another man on the left side.

"Mr. L is a weird person with disgusting hobbies. He knew from the start that the peace factions people would try to control us. They definitely would put one or two bugs on the system," said Mrs. C

"Hahaha," laughed Mr. L, "I will take that as a compliment, Mrs. C."

"I heard, Ms. Y just received her custom Ageha-human last week?" said the woman who let out a gasping sound.

"Yes, I received one, Ms. J," Yuu turned to face Ms. J, "As you said last week."

"I hope you manage to hide your research from it," said Ms. J, giggled, and everyone joined with small giggles.

Mr. L tapped the table twice, and the giggles disappeared. "I believe in Ms. Y," said Mr. L turned his gaze toward Ms. J. She felt embarrassed and lowered her head.

"There is a way to turn the custom Ageha-human to be your ally," said Mrs. C. Yuu was startled a bit and turned her gaze toward Mrs. C.

"As I said before," Mrs. C started, "Thanks to Mr. L's disgusting hobbies. He managed to slip an exit-door inside the program." Mrs. C lifted her glass, took a small sip, and continued, "As long as your custom Ageha-human manages to pass the exit door, it would start to feel more like normal-humans. The system would detect the eavesdropping program as a virus and delete it."

Yuu's face turned bright with hope before Mr. L tapped the table twice.

"The bad news is the custom Ageha-human need to reach the exit door by themselves, and every type is different on how they reach it; some might need to feel the ultimate fear." Mr. L tapped the table again.

"There are only eleven of custom Ageha-humans, Ms. Y, and yours is the last one," said Mrs. C.

"Yuu, Hiroki encountered Levi on his way back," whispered Jer. Yuu startled and tried her best to keep her calm composure.

"Record the conversation, Jer," whispered Yuu back.

"Roger!" Jer replied.

Their close proximity to the mech exposed them to the glow of the mech. When Ves designed the mech, he deliberately attempted to maximize its aura.
While the Devil Tiger was a mech that completely locked its extraordinary quality within its frame, the Adonis Colossus followed the opposite direction!
The mech was like a god shaped in the form of a metal humanoid!
Its glow and its visual design completely complimented each other. Bravo, the spiritual product that inhabited the design, embraced the Adonis Colossus as if they were two sides of the same coin!
The fit between design spirit and mech had reached such an unprecedentedly close degree that Ves had no idea what kind of power this mech possessed!
"And it's still not complete." He whispered.
He thought back on his original theory of the X-Factor. He theorized that it was the power gained from aligning three different entities together.
The mech, the mech designer and the mech pilot.
By pooling the strength of three entities together, Ves believed that the combination would be able to exert a level of strength that was far in excess to the sum of its parts!
Now, Ves had come closer to aligning these three elements together than ever before!
The starting point was Vincent Ricklin. The commission compelled Ves and Gloriana to design a mech that completely fit a single mech pilot.
They did so. If its spiritual components were left out, the Adonis Colossus already conformed to Vincent's requirements. The mech completely fit his personality and piloting style. From a technical and visual standpoint, the mech would only be able to exert its full strength in the hands of its destined mech pilot!
This was the essence of a custom mech. A mech designed from the ground up for a single mech pilot was much more compatible than a variant customized from a standard mech design.
Ves completely understood now why Gloriana showed disdain towards the Resentful Soldier.
They may have done a lot to customize the Resentful Soldier for Silent William, but its basic DNA couldn't be changed!
Ves acknowledged that there was a gap between the two. However, now that Ves completed the Adonis Colossus, he realized he underestimated the difference!

He realized what Gloriana aimed to perfect! Designing custom mechs like the Adonis Colossus brought her closer to an ideal where her works were elevated to gods!

As for the Resentful Soldier, aside from being a variant, its design spirit was a combination of the Solemn Guardian mixed with Nyxie's mote of spirituality.
This meant that the design spirit was out of step with the mech pilot. After Ves performed spiritual surgery on William Urbesh's mind, the man from another star sector experienced a huge personality change.

Both types of mechs had their own charm. Ves was someone who was very adventurous and easily got bored if he worked on the same types of mechs all the time. Alternating between standard mechs and custom mechs was a good way to keep his passion alive.
As for the direction he just identified, Gloriana already followed a similar path. Ves did not intend to usurp her ambition.
If their design philosophies converged, they wouldn't be able to complement each other as well anymore. The point of collaboration was to cover each other's weaknesses with their strengths.
Gloriana was good in perfecting the physical design of a mech while Ves excelled in breathing life to machines.
As long as both of them stuck to their domains, they would continue to reap the benefits from their specialization.
Once he realized this, he no longer felt any urge to dedicate himself to designing custom mechs.
After half an hour of checks, the Adonis Colossus was finally ready to be activated for the very first time.

Once Vincent disappeared from view, Ves activated a projection that streamed the interior of the cockpit.
Vincent didn't activate the mech immediately. He first took in its luxurious interior.
Just like with his other mechs, Ves had made a habit of decorating the interior of the cockpit with the theme of the mech.
The strength of his products depended significantly on how a mech pilot approached the mech.
Decorating the cockpit was a way of priming the mech pilot into adopting the right mindset.
Of course, not a lot was needed to align Vincent with the Adonis Colossus. The custom mech was already tailored for him, so strictly speaking Ves didn't need to decorate the cockpit.
He did so anyway. To boost Vincent's mood, Ves added many reliefs to the free space of the interior. He depicted all kinds of ancient mythical men such as Zeus, Heracles, Ares, Achilles and so on. All of these men exemplified a distinct aspect of masculinity.
Vincent became enamored by the sights. While he was never educated in the ancient classics, he had consumed enough entertainment to identify these timeless ancient gods and heroes.
"These are true men!" He grinned and gripped his fists. "As long as I have this mech, I'll be able to join their ranks one day!"
He no longer wanted to delay his satisfaction. The thought of becoming a hero was so tempting to Vincent that he interfaced with his mech without any further delay!
As a wireless connection formed between his head and the antenna built into the ceiling of the cockpit, his mind suddenly blanked out as he opened up an intimate connection.
Outside, Ves no longer observed the projection of the interior of the cockpit.
Instead, his senses and his vision had switched to an entirely different mode. He no longer perceived reality from his mundane senses.
Instead, he observed the spiritual interaction between Vincent, Bravo and the spiritual foundation of the Adonis Colossus.
Three different spiritual sources connected together. Immediately, Ves sensed some sort of strength emanating from the combination!

That was a very high evaluation! In her entire career, she designed more than a dozen custom mechs for Hexers! All of those machines were incredibly expensive and a lot more powerful than the Adonis Colossus!
Yet the inexplicable charm of the Adonis Colossus forced her to acknowledge that all of her prior works were far too lacking!
The spiritual component customized for a single mech pilot was incredibly potent!
Even now, the glow of the Adonis Colossus seemed to amplify, as if it was resonating with Vincent!
The close alignment between all three elements had no other outlet than amplifying the mech's already-potent X-Factor!

I take out the Crimson Reaper from the necklace and put it on, excluding the scarf, then I make the blades extend.

"Before we start, there are some rules you may know: first, this is a mock battle but that does not mean I will go easy on you. Second, the winner is who incapacitates the other, no fatal blows or killing. The use of magic is allowed." He says and readies his sword and I do the same. 

I decide to attack first so I rush and swing my blades at him. He moves to the side, I see it in really slow motion so he must be moving at a really fast speed.

'You should 'play along' with him.' Suggested Samjain.

I let my blades crash into the ground, missing my target. Then the tip of his katana appears pointed at my throat.

"You have initiative, but it seems you lack training and you're impulsive, trying to attack me head-on without thinking of a plan." He says and withdraws the blade while taking some distance. "I will give you one more chance to show your worth as a future student of this academy, did I made myself clear?" I nod to what he is saying. 

I guess its time for me to take this seriously.

He readies his and sword and me, my blades. This time he made the first move and come rushing at me swinging his sword, I parry it but the force of the impact sends me flying. While in mid-air, I use Wind Magic to slow down my fall and land without a problem.

"Interesting. You can use magic. Then, protect against this. <Flash Step>." He disappears and appears in front of me with a fireball on his hand. "<Fireball>" He throws it at me at point-blank... but I dodge it the instant it was close enough. I follow up with a thrust but he blocks it. He seems impressed by what I just did. I swing my other blade but he jumps backward, avoiding the hit. "I see I underestimated you."

'You should defeat him now that he saw your potential.'

I make a battle stance and rush to him at full speed, filling the gap between us in an instant, but, even though, he manages to raise his sword and swing it. I use my blades to cut his sword in two making one of the parts fly and stabs on the ground; then I point my blades at his throat and chest. "Did I pass?" Did that sound cheesy?

'Maybe.'

"Yes, you pass," Jillian says and make what remains of his sword disappear, the other end stabbed on the ground disappear too. "Please, follow me." We exit the Coliseum and start walking through the long corridor again.

'So, how did you felt?'

'You know the answer, but... how fighting using basic skills isn't going easy on me?!'

'Calm down Cael, believe it or not, that fight wasn't something a normal Adventurer, or even a human, could win easily without the help of a powerful skill or an abnormal status like yours.'

'Anyway, what were those skills? They don't have the same name as the one I got registered in the info you gave me.'

'Those are Custom Skills, except <Flash Step>. I've already transferred what is known about them to your head along with a little extra concerning how to make those skills.'

At that moment, I felt a little pain in my head. I had to use the wall to prevent me from stumbling and falling.

"Are you alright mister Cael?"

"Yes, I'm fine." Luckily that pain passed away quickly.

Custom skills are made out of the imagination of the user and yes, that has to be paired with a great amount of affinity with the certain element, or elements, the user has. Custom Skills are a more powerful version of the common skills (in most cases); those skills are created by the user hence considered unique. 

Let's say that you have the spell <Flame Pillar>, a medium caliber spell belonging to the skill tree of <Fire Magic>. Then let's say that you don't want a pillar made of flame but a snake or even a dragon; so what you need to do is imagine not a flame pillar but a flame snake and there you have it, a Custom Skill. Though the process may sound easy, it's not; it requires great focus and experience with the element from which you want to have the Custom Skill made.

That said, a Custom Skill will be added as a separate skill, or spell, to your status given that said Skill is considered new and does not belong, per se, anymore to the skill tree of <Fire Magic> but now is considered a unique skill/spell that the owner, and just the owner, have.

Note: even though I used a spell as an example, which should make this a Custom spell and not a Custom Skill, the name for this phenomenon has always been Custom skill ever since the first one was created.

When she put the guild card near it starts shinning. After some time, the light fades out and she stands up. "Well, it seems all is in order. Welcome, Mister Cael, to Deas Magic Academy." At that moment she gives me the guild card back.

What might happen if a higher being, like a god, for instance, were to kill someone? It seems he/she seize to exist, erasing all memories and traces that prove he/she ever existed. With that in mind, his soul is transferred, without any recollection of who he/she was, to where that god lives. And not just that! This god happens to need an Assistant, which means that he would offer that job to the person he just killed, as a form of apology of course.

Being erased from existence, the new Assistant created a body and since he doesn't remember his name, he chooses a new one before going to his first assignment, a fantasy-like planet called Ditia.

The system had four ways of categorizing skills. The first method was through skill books, which are dropped by demonic beasts once you kill them. This is purely a random process that depends on chance, because monsters can drop many things besides skill books, such as items, scrolls, ores, etc.

Modus had ordered Adelda to remove this aspect from every kill that Will made. Apparently, Modus said that this difficulty will 'temper' the boy and make him stronger. He also ordered her to make the boy's map and information options inaccessible. He made her modify the system around Will quite a bit, and often to make his battles more realistic and bloody. 

One can try and emulate a skill from a skill book, if you do it successfully, you gain the skill permanently and the system will reward you, depending on the difficulty of the skill, for example, Will's water blade. It is a very common skill, one that the system has, thus it does not count as a custom skill. 

The second method is through class changes. When you gain or upgrade a 
class, it comes with new skills. These skills are often more powerful than ones gained from drops because they are more fundamental to the class itself. 

The last method of gaining a skill is when a skill that already existed in your body is awakened through special means. An example of this is Will's bloodlust, which he gained through enlightenment. Will always had the potential to awaken bloodlust, but he needed a trigger, which came in the form of Modus' killing intent, and luck, a lot of luck. 

Millions of beings have the potential to awaken these skills, yet extremely few, less than a handful even, end up successful from these millions. These are the strongest skills, and are outside the control of the system itself, once the user reaches a certain level. 

All three of these methods are dependent on luck to a certain degree, thus it is difficult to determine the caliber of a user through them. This is where the most important category comes in. These are custom skills. 

To become a custom skill, a technique must have a certain degree of difficulty to create and requires an incredible amount of aptitude to carry out. For example, even if you create a technique that you made yourself, it will not become a custom skill until it reaches its most perfect state, according to the standards of the system. 

This often takes years of practice and modification to occur. It's no different than trying to create an invention, one no one has ever thought of before, and one that has an incredible impact. Skills have the same rating that demonic beasts have. This rating is based on the skill's power level and effectiveness. 

For example, one skill can have more power than the other, in the sense that it drains more qi or mana from the user. However, the one with less power might have a higher rating, because it does more damage or it's more difficult to control. 

Skills from skill books start from the lowest rating. Skills that come with a class start from the E- rating, except passive ones which are not rated due to a multitude of reasons. Such as, some are more powerful in one class than in another. 

For example, a class like a sword apprentice would use the passive skill basic swordsmanship far better than a class warrior apprentice, because sword apprentices specialize in using swords, thus they benefit more from the skill than the warrior apprentices. 

Active skills have a rather uniform power throughout, what makes the difference usually if two users of the same level use the same active skills, have the same passive skills but have different classes is the passive skills due to the influence of the class, thus they are not rated. 

Awakened skills have no rating because their power depends on the strength of the user. Custom skills, however, are different. They all start from a rating of C- For the system to recognize your technique as a custom skill, 3 criteria have to be met. 

First, it must have a rating of at least C- in terms of difficulty. Second, it must not be available in any skill books. Third no user on your world has used it or any technique that is similar to it. 

Once you create a custom skill, you can name it, and it effectively becomes yours. There are plenty of things you can do with custom skills on your menu which give you plenty of benefits. 

Usually, the creation of a custom skill is the hallmark of a player with incredible aptitude and talent. Users, who have the ability to create custom skills, are far more likely to level up faster and become powerful. The earlier a user creates their first custom skill, the more impressive their future prospects will be. 

Will had only been a user for almost two days, he had been fighting virtually non-stop during that entire time, so he barely had time to think. Custom skills not only need the skill to execute, but also require a lot of time to think about. The key word is time. 

If you are coming up with a work of art, don't you have to think about it for some time? Don't you have to imagine it and modify it constantly until the right thing comes out? It took Leonardo da Vinci a few years to paint the Mona Lisa. Imagine if he had done that in a few days, whilst being constantly distracted! 

That is exactly what Will had just done. Adelda had never heard of a being, mortal or not, who had achieved such a thing. As long as Will survived this, he would definitely become powerful in the future. 

That's when Modus spoke and ruined her thinking process. "Adelda, I want you to summon the sector boss here, now." 

What? Why would I do such a thing? Will, will definitely die! 

Adelda wanted to protest, but then she saw the look on Modus' face. He had a savage grin on his face. This was no longer the easy-going man she had been dealing with. This was the real Modus.  

In the world of immortals, few didn't know this man; he was famous for a lot of his deeds, and a lot of his traits; one of which was his mood. When he gets a crazed look, nothing can stop him, and few will defy him. 

If the rumors are true, I cannot question him while he is in this state. Otherwise, I will be doomed. 

"Understood," said Adelda, with a pained expression on her face. She closed one of her eyes and waived one of her hands about. 

Will I hope you survive this. You are too valuable to us, and to your world. I hope you do things carefully because the nail that sticks out gets hammered first...

On the ground, Will was engaging in what could only be described as death's dance. With every step he took a head would fly off, with every wave of his hand, blood would flow like rivers. With every breath he took, another creature would take its last. This was truly a sight that even Death himself would cringe at.

As Will engaged in his one-sided slaughter, many thoughts were going through his mind. He was experimenting with his water blade, trying to see what he could do with it. Its range wasn't bad and its speed was impressive. His dual mind skill made it easy to manipulate it. Unlike the wind blades from the wolves, Will's water blade was reusable. 

He didn't want to waste it, so he used the same water blade again, and again, and again; to massacre the guardians. He didn't neglect his sword skills either; he often used his sword in conjunction with the water blade or used the water blade for long range attacks and his sword for short range attacks. 

After some time, Will was bothered by one aspect. He was becoming too overpowered. With a wave of his hand, he could easily kill a guardian, so he started losing his finesse and techniques. Thus he came up with an idea. 
He would hover the water blade in the air, and use it to herd guardians to him, then using only his sword techniques, Will would fight the guardians one on one. Instead of just blindly trying to kill them in the shortest amount of time, Will was experimenting with other aspects of combat. 

I have a lot of subjects to test my skills on here. Killing them all would be such a waste. 

Thus Will started trying other things, like predicting how the guardians would strike and dodging their attacks, or learning how to parry their blows perfectly, or trying to attack them from their blind sides, or attacking their legs to limit their movements. 

I might need to fight an opponent I can't kill easily but I have to kill in the future, so I need to master my movements and techniques further. 
If Will had known how right he was, perhaps he would have taken this more seriously. 

The guardians were still stronger and faster than Will, but their intelligence was far too lacking. In Will's eyes, their actions became far too repetitive, extremely simplistic, and easy to counter.

The guardians were still somewhat intelligent, they knew full well that they were being toyed with, but their pride wouldn't allow them to run. So they continued on, in their futile attacks. 

A few hours later, when only a hundred or so guardians were left, something strange occurred. All the wolves looked up in a certain direction and howled. 

Will was bothered by this action and saw that something wasn't right. He decided to finish off these wolves quickly and launched a barrage of water blades on them, finishing them off. Then he looked toward the direction they had howled too.
