When times are the most dreadful a hero takes charge. With a book in hand, he walks a path to becoming a legend. This is the legend of Ryu Harrison and his book of monsters.

Info about this world: All pokemon regions have merged into one gigantic supercontinent now known as Utopia.

The silent environment of the Braco city makes it even more deserted.
Some gazes lands on James but not for long.
There was not much left on the Braco city; some ruined buildings and destroyed pathways.
After walking for some moments, James reached the Plaza of the Braco city which got some activities.
Most of the people were selling or buying items related to monsters found near the city.
He needed information on the monsters who are frequents near the city.
"Hello there, are you new here?" a petite looking short girl came toward James.
"Hello, yes I am new here and searching for place to inquire about the monsters which are nearby." James replied looking at the girl.
"You can call me Irene; I can guide you inside the city and for that information there is a price." Irene pulled a small hand book.
"If the price is acceptable, then I don't mind purchasing." James replied.
Putting one finger up, "It isn't cheap, just one crystal." Irene dictated.
"One crystal, with that I can live for month. Why do you think I will pay that much for the book?" it was obviously scam James thought.
"Hoh, this book is drawn by me and the information as well as weakness of monster from last five years is registered personally by me." Irene said with pride.
With much difficulty James forked out a single crystal, "Can I get some gold coins back, I don't have more money to even ride the carriage."
It was always necessary to be careful while showing your riches when you are not strong enough to protect it.
So after exchanging book, with a painful expression on his face, "Irene right, I will remember to return if I don't find this book useful."
"The items from Irene shop are non-refundable." Irene made a short escape.
James looked at her dumbly, it was necessary to not catch any attention.
James with the book in hand; the pictures quite detailed and there is information of class 6, 5, 4, 3 monsters.
Class 6 monsters; the lowest level monsters were going to be his target.
After going through name on the book; James was already on the outskirt of the city.
It was about to get dark and perfect time for monsters to come for hunting.
James climbed a fallen tower near the forest and waited.
Sounds of hoofs started echoing in the forest; James concentrated.
And the monsters finally arrived; a herd of jade bone warthog.
The number was over twenty, with shiny green color tusks and huge head, they ran straight toward the plaza.
Although they are the class 6 beast which can be comparable to initial mortal realm; but dealing with the full herd is madness.
He stayed silent, letting every warthog to pass and waited for more.
Than panting and gasping a huge sized matriarch mountain boar arrived.
Seeing the chance without another though, James made his move.
Without any combat techniques and experience, James could only throw a straight punch.
It directly hit the head of the Boar and a sound of bone cracking was heard.
The Matriarch mountain boar died just like that; James dragged the body to the side.
There is nothing valuable in the body of the boar; so he let every other boar pass.
Then with a howl sound a group of four canine brute appeared; they immediately got the scent of the dead boar and followed it.
 James immediately flipped through the book; and saw the Canine Brute were class 5 monsters.
And class 5 monsters can be compared to intermediate mortal realm (300-599) which was similar to Ralph level.
'Should I escape, but….' James came out of the hiding to face the Canine brutes which were wolf type monsters.
Seeing a human appearing in front, the canine brute in the front lunged toward the James neck.
A foolish move, James easily sidestepped and dogged the brute.
The other three immediately attacked James with swipes and pouncing at him for a bite.
He dogged the two mouths but the swipe of the third one was able to scratch the flesh of his right side abdomen.
It was doable. He made his move; a punch to the nearest and kicked the two which were ready to pounce at him again.
The three started whimpering and the third scowl looking at its friends.
With three on the ground unable to get up; he made a quick work of all four of them and extracted the teeth which were the only useable part.
James got the some idea of his power; he can definitely deal with the class five but higher than that will be very difficult.
But when killing these monsters, he didn't get any reaction like before.
So James was disappointed.
But a word appeared in his mind, "Sinners."
Maybe the one who has harm someone or done something wrong will be able to help me get strong.
But, where do i find these so called bad monsters in this huge forest?
James started to flip through the book page by page; he came across some monsters which acts alone and has cause quite a lot of death.
But all of the monsters were class 3 and above.
With another sound of hoof the herd of jade bone warthog appeared.
And James swiftly started to follow the herd.
Not long after entering the forest, the warthog stopped with panicking and started to rung all over the place.
Slashes fused with fire started to cut the warthog in pieces; James stopped along with his breath.
A slender figured ash colored wolf appeared from the nearby bush with fiery red eyes.
James mad a U- turns and ran without knowing where he was running; he was fortunate enough to run towards the city.
He immediately hide inside one of the nearest ruined building and catch his breath.
Elusive cinder wolf; a fire type class four beast and James was nearly turned into ashes.
The book stated that the wolf was active for almost a year in this area and no one responded to it.
The best path should be to take it easy; so he needs to find some fresh new bodies to increase his power.
Another way to find the dead bodies is to join a hunter team; which was impossible with his strength.
But there was another way; which was practically illegal but was the only option left.
The dumping ground of dead monsters; and it was near the monsters arena.
And move towards the next city; the Tando city.
Tando city is famous for the buying and selling tamed beasts and illegal monster battles.
And where do the dead monsters, after the fight goes; they are thrown in the dumping pit.
And reaching the Tando city was easy and fast; just take a flying ride.
And without eyeing anything, James immediately took the ride costing him five crystals and took off.
James was travelling and expending more than planned but it was necessary.
And he also needed to return to the Braco city for getting the easy access to more wild monsters.
Compared to the Braco city, Tando city was full of monsters and beast and people , but the people seems more…..

Ass-chap 7:


As he tried to store the Demon Ant Egg he was holding, Ban felt rejection from the life inside it.


Ban looked closely and noticed that it was throbbing like a heart. Cracks were already starting to form on the egg's surface and if he didn't know the real reason, Ban might think it was already dead. 


As he felt the rejection, Ban didn't force it and instead asked little ASS what he should do. 


"Little ASS, this guy seems to be on the verge of hatching what should I do?" 


[Read the Book of Techniques! ]


"Oh yeah there was still that Book of Techniques that I haven't seen yet." Ban acknowledged while scratching his head. 


"Alright, little ASS give me that Book of Techniques now." Ban commanded as he readied his mental state because he might receive a super rare kind of Book of Techniques this time as well.

"Jeez…" Ban couldn't hold back his surprise after reading the book's description. 


According to the adventurers, a Book of Technique was an accumulation of a family's knowledge about monsters and beasts. It was not something a single individual could do. 


And for this book to be made by only one person alone… 


Not to mention that it was a list of all the beasts and monsters of the whole Summoner World. If the description was not exaggerating, then this could be the most powerful Book of Techniques that might have ever existed. 


"Gasp! Just how knowledgeable could that Ancient Summoner be?" Ban gasped in astonishment as a  huge question mark hung above Ban's head as he pondered over that question. 


However, he immediately shook his head a while later as he ignored that shocking information for now. 


He wanted to focus on the fact that the said Book of Techniques was now his to be read. 


Although he also wasn't familiar with upper ranks, he was sure that as someone with the title Supreme Summoner, she should be one of the pinnacle of the Summoner World. 


 "Her name though, is it a taboo mentioning it? Why was it censored? Jeez… I really hate censored things!" Ban could only whine in silence as he knew he could do nothing about it. 


At the same time, Ban noticed a change on little ASS' interface. .


[Prepare to receive the Book of Techniques…

Ban did as what little ASS had stated. Ban somehow felt that the row of text was in a good mood right now. But he still couldn't put his head on the reason why it has become cheerful. 


As the countdown reached '1', Ban somehow saw a rat of light pierce his eyes before a huge ancient-looking book materialized in front of him. 


It was a good thing that little ASS told him to get ready or he might've dropped the book before even holding it. 


"Jeez… Isn't this a little big and heavy for a book?" Ban groaned as he caught the book with one of his hands. 


The book looks ancient and it is thicker and bigger than the usual books Ban had seen. 


There was also a set of runic letters on the front page of the book. Although Ban was not sure, he guessed that the runic letters must be the name of the Book of Techniques, which was, All About Them!


"Little ASS can't you inject the book's content into my mind immediately? Just like for the skills?" 


[Impossible! Although this [Book of Techniques] was rewarded by the System, the massive amount of knowledge contained in it will make your head burst if injected into your mind.]


"What? Jeez… Don't do it then-"


[However, I have a suggestion, Host. 


We can slowly inject the knowledge contained inside it. 


Just state a specific part of knowledge about beast and monsters, and I will inject it into your brain.

"Ooh! You can do it? Do it then..." Ban felt elated upon hearing that piece of news. 


"Hmm so what I need right now is the knowledge about how to hatch this Demon Ant Egg or even the knowledge on how to hasten its hatching time is also doable" Ban stated.

"I see. I see. So that's the method…" Ban keeps on nodding his head as he absorbs the knowledge injected by little ASS.


According to the knowledge he had just absorbed, in order to hatch the Demon Ant Egg, he needs a material called Red Ant Grass. 


This reddish grass that looks like an erect red double edged sword can be found easily on the Demon Ant's lair.


The knowledge also explained how to harvest and where they are usually located.  


The Red Ant Grass grows in a dark environment. They used the Demon Ant's waste and pee for their own nutrients. 


According to the knowledge, if he used five and a half leaves of Red Ant Grass, he should be able to hasten the Demon Ant Egg hatch time by a large margin.

Devastated by the harsh truth of being unable to summon a monster in a world full of summoners. Ban trained himself to death in the bid to overturn his fate. 

As he was training himself to death, death really came to claim his life. 

At that moment, a sudden light pierced the darkness that envelopes him as a virtual screen materialized in front of his eyes. 

With a stroke of luck, Ban somehow managed to inherit a System after being denied by its previous owner. 

And his first mission was to tame an ant or else, die again?

Ian was surprised, really surprised. He didn't think the 5 idiot ogres were the boss monsters. 

"Haaaaiiissst!"

He sighs exaggeratedly. Here, he was excited to fight a Boss Class monster to witness the boss room with a boss monster sitting on its throne with a weapon standing on its side.

With minions on his throne left and right ready to sacrifice their life for the thief king while waiting for him who cleared the rest of the level.

But all his expectations shattered like an egg of a man that made him boil in anger, he was about to vent his anger on the poor ogre body that still wasn't vanishing but stopped when he heard Lily's voice.

Ian was really surprised. He didn't think the massacre he did to the goblins will be wiping their existence in this dungeon.

Looking at the mess he made, Ian whistled from how the forest became a place where a typhoon passed for a few seconds that made the trees that were standing tall now lie on the earth with their body in half or destroyed.

Now that he knows the reason for his achievements Ian strides for the next floor. He needs to fund the Portal leading to the Boss Floor for him to return to the surface.

Funding the Portal was not hard, it only takes him five minutes before entering it. Of course, he didn't forget his loot from the monsters he killed.

All the monsters already disappeared while Ian was resting so he just needs to pick all the weapons dropped and the crystal core from the monsters.

What he looted was of course the Crystal Core with different kinds of sizes, like the CC of the ogres that have the same size of a fist which is the biggest CC Ian saw in his career as a porter and being a recent raider.

For the Weapon Dropped, Ian's got a lot of Assassin daggers and out of five Ogres, only one of them dropped a Shoulder armor protection.

He wants to inspect the armor for how the bullets are not working on them but alas he doesn't have those skills or abilities at the moment so he just keeps it in his inventory and later asks Miya to hire an analyzer for more details.

Another five minutes before he finally locates the Gate leading to the Boss Floor. But instead of Portal Gate, it is a huge Gate made of unknown metal that is colored red, which gives an ominous feeling from just staring at it.

Pushing the gate with both of his hands, Ian didn't feel any resistance at all, as if the gate was made of paper despite its appearance. But Ian didn't care about it and entered the room.

What he saw inside was like how he visualizes the room of the boss floor. A throne in the middle but without its boss. Instead, there is a book on the throne.

The monsters protecting the king were also gone, but remains from them remained signifying that there is a monster protecting it.

It's not unusual for the monsters to disappear after the core of the dungeons was destroyed. The monster comes from the Core and the core was like the heart of all monsters, so destroying the core not only means the destruction of the dungeon but also the downfall of all the monsters living in the said dungeon.

But Ian's mind was not on those trial things, instead, he was focused on the book that was on the throne where the Boss on this floor was supposed to be.

The only conclusion Ian has is the book was Item dropped from the Boss after it disappeared.

Without thinking, Ian was already hovering in front of the throne with a thin book in his hand. 

"Hahaha!! It's a skill book~!"

Ian laughed echoed in the room, he didn't expect a Boss would drop a skill book after it disappeared. Ian knows how lucky he is for obtaining a skill book from a monster since it was a rare occurrence. 

A skill book won't appear if the monster was not intelligent enough to wild magic. Because only those monsters that have the same intellect as humans adults or above can conjure magic since it needs a high INT and also a huge amount of energy reserve, that's why Mage was rare even on the human side.

Although the human has high INT they don't have vast energy reserves like the monsters that were gifted by energy since they were born from that energy.

While Monsters, although they have a tremendous energy reserve their INT was low the moment they were born.

Different creatures with different weaknesses but have equivalent problems needed to become a Mage.

Ian who can't wait to know what kind of Skill it contains directly rip the skill book apart.

Ian read on the internet that ripping apart the skill book was the only way to obtain the skill on it so he did it.

At first, he was also skeptical when he saw it, but after confirming it with his manager Miya, that ripping it was true he finally believes it.

Still feeling quite shaken by the revelations, I went through the next page. It had a list of books on it, and their locations.

Do I have to collect all of these?

While I was glad that I had some sort of a goal for now, there was something that made me feel uncomfortable, like I was dancing on the palm of someone's hand.

"Tch."

It was a nasty feeling, but I didn't dwell on it for long. My priority for the time being was to get stronger and survive.

On the very last page of the book was a map of my state with the locations of several dungeons marked on it. One of them was where the library was.

Wait, dungeons? Do they think this is some sort of a fantasy novel? ….At this point, that doesn't seem like something impossible...

Anyway, I went through the list of books. Fortunately, five of those books were located somewhere in this library. It didn't take me long to find them because the list of books also had their 'now fake' names written in it, which meant that I could easily search them in the library's catalog.

The five books were on the fundamentals of magic, ki, herbs, alchemy and monsters. The book from which I had found the parchment paper in… since that's a mouthful, I'll just stick to the parchment's book… no, the 'Book of Revelations' sounds cooler… Anyway, the Book of Revelations had some useful techniques and skills in it, but it didn't explain the theory behind them, while these books explained the phenomena behind their respective subjects very nicely. Other than that, these books had countless skills and techniques, while the Book of Revelations only had a select few, that seemed to me like the best of the best from each of the five subjects.

"I can't wait to start reading all of these!"

Boom!

Monsters had started to break into the library. It was odd that they hadn't done anything to the library earlier.

I looked at the Book of Revelations. Maybe this has something to do with that odd phenomenon.

Suddenly, the floor of the library started to crumble apart. Bits of it were falling down into who knows where.

"This library doesn't have a basement!"

But then it occurred to me that this might be because of the dungeon that was supposed to be here.

Needless to say, soon, I was falling along with the rubble. I jumped from one falling piece to another, to decrease the speed with which I'd land, wherever that might be. 

Not long after that, I was in an underground cave.

Some of the monsters had also fallen in. But I killed them before they were back in fighting mode. Who asked them to be distracted?

The ceiling mended itself so fast that I didn't even try to attempt going back up. Behind me was a wall, so there was only one way forward.

But before that, I took out a flashlight from my backpack, and used it to observe my surroundings. After confirming that there was no immediate danger, I sat down and started reading the book on magic.

Yes, I want to read the book first. You got a problem with that?

The book described how mana was similar to ki, and that the difference between the two wasn't very clear. Both mana and ki came in the same different elements: light, dark, fire, water, earth and air.

Light magic was mainly concerned with healing, and dark magic with disease, death and necromancy. Fire, water, air and earth magics had pretty clear uses. The same went for ki.

I then took out the Book of Revelations. Since I wasn't sure how long I'd be safe here, I thought I'd use whatever time I have to learn some spells.

As for why I wasn't learning ki techniques. The reason for that was, well, I had always wanted to use magic. Other than that, magic seemed easier for me to use as compared to ki.

My food and water would only last for three days, or five if I was really stingy. So I had to leave this cave that I knew nothing about, as fast as I could.

"Fire!"

I said as I raised one of my arms. A small fire appeared on my raised hand.

"This oughta help me conserve the flashlight's battery."

After that, I attempted some more spells. And some more. Until I was done with ten spells in the Book of Revelations. They all worked fine, but then, before I knew it, my mana had been drained.

It was ironic how the last spell I had learnt was to detect mana, and when I used it, I realized that mine was almost completely gone.

I felt bitter but I didn't panic. It was because my ki reserves were still full, so I wouldn't be completely helpless if a monster were to attack me out of the blue. Not that I had learnt many useful ki techniques…

Anyway, I used the technique to recharge mana that was given in the book on magic. Without understanding the process behind it, it was useless to try to gather mana from one's surroundings. With just the Book of Revelations, I wouldn't have been able to pull this off.

When my mana was fully recharged, I advanced forward. 

After walking for about five minutes, I reached a room that had five dog monsters in it. 

They ran towards me, ready to rip me apart with their fangs.

"Fire breath!"

One of the dog monsters got a minor burn. All of the others were distracted. And that was exactly what I had wanted. I took advantage of that brief moment of distraction to kill two of them with my knives enforced with ki. I had aimed for their necks, and had managed to cut the blood supply to the brain.

The other three dogs jumped on me at the same time. I barely dodged them, while managing to kill another one of them. Then there were only two left. It didn't take me long to finish them off as well.

After that, I extracted their cores. These were different from all the cores I had had until now. These were orange. I ate three of them, and stored the other two for Eric. I needed him to be stronger so that he could protect himself.

I then continued to go forward. There were four more groups, of five monsters each, I had fought against in order to reach the huge door that I now stood in front of. It had taken me three hours to get here.

I thought about going in there, but then it occurred to me that there was no need for me to rush into the room when I had enough spare time to practice some ki techniques.

After I had practiced all the beginner level ki techniques in the Book of Revelations, which took me about half a day, they got replaced by those of intermediate level.

I learnt one intermediate level ki skill in an hour. Then I rested for another hour.

"Now, I'm ready."

I took in a deep breath and then opened the door. As expected, in the room was the boss monster. It was a humongous Congo lion.

It just stood there, as if waiting for me to attack first. Well, don't mind if I do.

"Fire!"

This weak spell was just a feint. My main attack was ki infused in one of my knives that I threw at one of the lion's eyes. But this lion wasn't a boss monster for nothing. It dodged the knife attack with ease, while the fire spell failed to inflict any damage.

The lion faced me and opened his mouth.

"No way!"

It had used fire breath, which was way bigger and stronger than my own.

"Earth wall!"

This beginner earth spell caused a solid earth wall to emerge from the earth in front of me. Besides that, I also used the ki technique 'defense,' which just required me to cover myself in my ki to boost my defense.

Even with these two skills protecting me from the fire breath attack, I got some minor burns.

As soon as the attack was over, I infused almost all of the ki I had to the knives in my hands, using the intermediate level skill ki skill 'ice blade.' I used the remaining ki to maintain the defense ki skill. Then I ran to the lion like a madman.

It was completely reckless of me to do so, but if I stalled any longer, I might become a roasted human treat for that lion. I had to deliver the finishing blow before that happened.

A moment later, one of my knives had pierced through the paw of the lion that was just in front of my face, while the other one pierced through the head.

"Phew."

I plopped down on the floor. My heart was beating like crazy because of the stunt I had pulled.

Then the door behind the lion opened.

Ah, yes. After you beat a dungeon boss, a door leads you to the rewards, right?

I got up on my feet, extracted the lion's core, and put it in my backpack.

Then I went through the door that had opened. My guess was right. The door did lead me to a room with some herbs and weapons. There were daggers, a bow and arrows, a sword, and a shield. They were sharper and stronger than any such weapons I had come across.

I replaced my knives in the makeshift weapon-holding belt I had made, with the daggers and the sword. As for the shield, I stuck it to my backpack.

After that, I collected every single herb there was. I would study all of them from the book of herbs later.

Then I took out the yellow core and ate it. I felt my mana increase three fold.

"Nice."

Then I exited through the door on the other end of the room. It led me outside. 

After confirming that there were no monsters in sight, I sat down and enjoyed the cool breeze blowing against my face. I felt refreshed.

Since it was night, I had to be wary of monsters attacking from the dark…

Or should I?

I used the spell 'light orb.' Then I shouted at the top of my voice,

"Come get me, you damned monsters!"

I didn't have an aggro skill, so this was the only thing I could do to get the monsters to come to me.

Some cat and rabbit monsters came out from the dilapidated buildings and attacked me. I unsheathed my sword and used kendo to kill those monsters. These were small fry compared to the monsters in the dungeon.

I extracted their cores. As expected, they were red. I ate five of those cores, and stored away the other fifteen.

"Growl."

This sound came from a cute but angry looking giant bunny.

I then looked at my feet that were now frozen.

"You sneaky little bunny."

A thin strip of ice had come from the bunny and frozen both of my feet. I used fire ki to melt the ice away and then used my sword to kill the bunny.

The core of that bunny was orange. Monsters with orange cores seemed to be scarce. So, dungeons have stronger than average monsters.

It took me about half an hour to reach the street in which the church was. Taking down those monsters wasn't hard. What had taken most of my time was extracting all of those cores. I should bring some people with me to do this while I kill all the monsters.

When I entered the street,

"My God."

"A new monster in the Zuma Temple?"

It must be noted that the Zuma Guards had high-level defensive and offensive abilities. When more than one of them came out, they were hard to defeat even when the girls were here. As for the skeletons, the level 3 skeletons that they summoned would be smashed apart very soon by the Zuma Guards.

After the skeletons were large groups of zombies. In the sea of skeletons and zombies, everyone saw the huge, dark-red skeleton kings, Skeleton Spirits, and the huge white-grey zombies with iron chains, Corpse Kings!
Now realizing that the monsters would violate their interests if the cities were broken, the players knew that this wasn't child's play and charged at the sea of monsters. Some of them even rushed into herds of zombies with Magic Shield while waving their staffs and shooting out lightning bolts!
Hell Lightning!
"Corpse Kings! Get the Corpse Kings!" Standing at the foremost of the group with a Magic Shield, Black Demon suddenly realized that this crisis would also bring them great opportunities. The monsters that they had just killed had dropped many small ultimate items. Now that the Corpse Kings appeared, the players would be well rewarded if a skill book such as the Magic Shield Spell dropped.
It would be even better if the Corpse Kings dropped an Enchanting Light Skill Book; it was a godly skill book that every wizard craved for!
There were so many players that they overwhelmed bosses like the Corpse Kings. Instantly, the Corpse Kings were killed, and they dropped items all over the ground!
In the blink of an eye, crowds swarmed up like wasps!
Even the players who stood behind and watched the game was elated. "Book! There's a skill book over there!"
Black Demon pushed into the BOSS zone with his Magic Shield activated and picked up a small yellow book. When he looked up, he found that he was surrounded by people, and the ground was as clean as a slate! Even an hair couldn't be found!
"Boss! What did you pick up?" A Black Guard walked over and offered a skill book - Half Moon Saber.
Surprised, Black Demon laughed. "Good boy! You're excellent at picking up stuff!"
Half Moon Saber might not be a very powerful combat technique in the real world, but it was the most useful AoE technique for warriors in the Legend of Mir 2. Since AoE attack meant high efficiency in killing monsters, and killing monsters would directly increase the players' cultivation strengths, this technique was highly valuable!
Right now, a Half Moon Saber Skill Book would sell for an exorbitant price since it was so rare. Not even every high-level member of the Royal Clan Guild had this technique!
"After the battle, go and take one ultimate magic staff from Wang Jin; tell him that it's my order!" Black Demon laughed and immediately went and stored the skill book in his warehouse.

Meanwhile, the monsters from the Stone Tomb swarmed up. The players had easily overwhelmed the low-level monsters, but the higher leveled monsters were not so easy to kill. The players in the front rows died or escaped back to the cities to heal up, and they rushed back after respawning and healing to make another charge.
"Young Master Song! White boar! There is a white boar by me!" Lin Shao yelled. Wild White Boars were small bosses in the Stone Tomb. If the players were lucky, they might get some very good items from these boars!
In the Royal Family's QQ channel, Yu Chi, who had just picked up an ultimate skeleton ring, was in a great mood. "I have a white boar here. Guys, come and kill it!"
Ji Wu also yelled in the QQ Channel, "I have two Wild White Boars! Where are the Royal Guards!"

Her sword slashed the green eyed monster and its blood tainted her brown leather boots. "There's more." Elysian whispered. She held the blood-stained sword tightly and brought in front of her chest. After muttering some words, her sword flowed blue and blinded the swarm of monsters surrounding her. Their body combusted and blood splattered on her ragged outfit. 

She prayed in her heart that no more monsters were there in the winter. Her energy was drained after wandering nonstop for five days straight. With her mission in her mind, she hurried to north, where they said she would find the book of the Dark Queen. Walking after a few hours, she looked at her compass and made sure she's in the right way. This is the Forest of Dark Queen, where the Dark Queen used to reside in, any wrong step and you'll find yourself lost in the traps. The winter made the forest a labyrinth of whiteness and freezing temperatures. With little amount of food and water, Elysian was long hungry and dehydrated. Hunger made her more desperate and looking at the stained water made her gulped. Thank goodness she hasn't reached the point where she found monsters delectable.

She walked further to north, hoping to quickly finish her mission and go back home. A shudder fell down her spine when she felt a dark aura right on top of her. Her hand grabbed her sword in reflex and her exhausted legs got into the position she had trained hundreds of years for. Without looking up, her hand slashed blindly responding the dark aura and using her own Orenda, she suppressed the urged to collapse. With a final stab to the monster's neck, its blue-colored blood splashed into her body and stained the pure white snow. 

With her sword back to its sheath, her legs brought her north again. Her eyes trembled when she detect a familiar Orenda. "Larcy" She whispered her name and ran toward the Orenda. The sight in front of her was brutal. With almost 20 monster surrounding her and some high-level one too, the yellow Orenda owner pushed all the monsters to their end. But what she didn't notice was a high-level monster behind her ready with its claw and out for her blood. Elysian used her last Orenda and shot the monster to its end. 

Larcy looked at the owner of the Orenda that helped her and her eyes widened at the sight of her best friend who had been missing for almost 10 years. 

"Elysian..." She sped toward the blood-stained girl and hugged her tightly. Elysian chuckled and hugged her back. Their reunion didn't last long as another wave of monsters come around. A cave appear behind the monsters- its mouth surrounded with snowdrops. 

"That cave wasn't there earlier." Elysian stated.

"It certainly wasn't. Would you like to explore it?" Larcy smirked and sped to the monsters guarding it. Both her daggers slashed every monsters that she passed through. 

Elysian looked at the monsters in front of her, she didn't want to die there- certainly not in the Forest of Dark Queen. She whispered some words under her breath and a dark wind went passed her. It flew passed the monsters and all the monsters it passed through went black with a hole in its body where the dark wind passed through.

Larcy watched her best friend and felt fear when she saw the dark being, her best friend just used a forbidden curse. 

When all the monsters were killed, Larcy gave Elysian a pill. 

"Cleanse Pill. Don't want the darkness of these monsters to cling to your body." 

Elysian looked at the hesitating girl who clearly wanted to tell her something. When she was done chewing the pill she uttered the words she wanted to say. "That... was a forbidden spell right?" She felt like she was looking at the wrong person. The Elysian she knew never used a forbidden spell, never broke a rule, but the girl in front of her was unrestrained and free, her once dulled eyes that Larcy remembered wasn't even there. 

"It is indeed a forbidden spell. Anything wrong?" Elysian asked unbothered. Her exhausted body won't let her talk for so long, she knew she's almost at her limit. "I will explain it all to you when we're done with this. I'm afraid my body won't last me long enough to stand the conversation." Elysian walked pass her and explained her words when she realized she sounded too harsh. Ten years with that old master has led her to follow his habit of speaking.

"Fine" Larcy felt bad when she realized Elysian was almost at her limit. She followed her walked pass the snowdrops and entered the dark cave. The little hesitation she had disappear when she saw Elysian's reliable back. 'That's right, she's Elysian. What's there to doubt about?' 

 The cave was filled with a foul smell. Both of them badly want to get out but they knew the faint aura inside the cave can't be dismissed. Its danger was apparent even from outside and its dark aura was even more unsettling than hundreds of monsters combined. Elysian linked this to her mission. Her heart thumped at the thought of finishing this terrifying mission. 

"There's a barrier. Can you undo this?" Larcy knocked against the invisible wall that blocked them from whatever inside it. Elysian nodded and used her little amount of recovered Orenda. She closed her eyes and extended her right hand. Blue colored Orenda softly covered her hand and then spread toward the barrier, enveloping it and destroying it.

"Your Orenda is still the most impressive of all I've seen" Elysian smiled and focused back to the sight in front of her.

Hidden by the barrier was a book placed on top of a crystal block. The book was omitting the dark aura that they felt from outside. Elysian used her Orenda and enveloped both her and Larcy. They focused their attention to the book and when they both stood right in front of it, Larcy protect her hand with a barrier spell and grabbed the book.

"This... is the book of Dark Queen." Larcy was terrified. She knew the stories going around this book, one of the Dark Queen treasure where she wrote all her curses and dark beings.

Elysian took advantage of her best friend fear and took the book from her. "I will hold this until we get to a safe place. For now, let's get out of this place." After getting out of the cave, Elysian felt relief washed through her body. The limit that she challenged all throughout her journey was finally touched and she collapsed. "ELYSIAN!" That was the last thing she heard before she passed out in the cold forest.

The first thing he did after going out of the hospital was to went to his previous apartment. He already expected that it was heavily destroyed during invasion, but he didnt expect it to be this fatal.

The building was cut in half, and large debris of stones and walls are now laying on the streets. He starts looking at the room where he previously lived. 

All the closet are nowhere to seen as only broken woods and such are laying on the place where it was previously at. As he was looking at things that could still be functioning and can be used, he found a metallix box under the broken woods and stones. 

It was gray in color and seems to be made of metal. Thankfully, it was still on good state. He starts opening the box and found a book inside the box. 

The book was given to him by his father. Its a book about various monsters and herbs and can be considered an encyclopedia. 

It was a common book and can be easily found in the market. The only reason he keep this book was that it was full of jot down notes from his father that adds additional info about monsters and herbs. 

Also, because it was the only gift that he received from his father, so he considered this a treasure of his. 

He was so glad that the book was in good state and receive no damage. He already read the entirety of the book, and knows every single detail about monsters and herbs written on it. 

He starts reading this book since he was 7 years old. He was enthusiast on learning about monsters, and as he finish reading the details about monsters, he then read the half page which is about herbs. 

He finally managed to completely read the entirety of book when he was 14 years old, but still he cant bring himself to throw this book nor sell it. 

After he think over it. He started searching the area again, but after an hour of searching, he was only able to find clothes, some books, and other things that still in good state, while the rest are all in bad state with some being completely destroyed. 

Its a story about the boy who lives in apocalyptic time where monsters starts to exist and humanity struggles for their survival. 

98 years after the apocalypse occur, humanity now gained the power and skills to defeat and fight monsters. Various technique and development are employed.

It has been many days since the time where Elizabeth falls from the Giant mountain, She was at the other side of the mountain which means that she cannot come back to her home without wasting a lot of time. This realization made her stopped thinking about going back and just continued on her journey towards the west.
During the days, Elizabeth didn't see anything interesting. She wanted to find rare genes and she also didn't need a lot of biomass for now, So she won't eat anything needlessly and would only eat something that has a good gene.
Anyway, While she was in her journey she came to see many monsters in the way. As bored as she was, She recorded what kind of animal it was. From Meat eating animals to plant eating animals, She didn't see any other animals other than meat eating and plant eating. The types of animals would probably increase as time passes.
As she was bored about not doing anything other than heading onto one direction which was the west, She decided to write about the animals she found in a book. How she got this book? Well she had knowledge on making papers and it was easy for her to make one with her skills on manipulating certain elements.
She also gave each of this papers a super condition that would stop it from destroying itself through time or nature. She didn't know why but she wanted to write every animal she discovered in a book, With this knowledge of hers. Although it was useless with her Eidetic Memory, It was still fun for Elizabeth to do.
It was still currently early in the morning, Elizabeth was just frozen in front of something that looked like a book. This book was very beautiful and had a good design, This book was also something that wouldn't break itself apart. Elizabeth was currently preparing herself on writing the creatures on the book.
But how will she write it? Well there is a method which was eating the book towards her body and using a manipulation through elements to write in the book. This would make Elizabeth like a printed also there would be an Visual Representation in each monsters which would make the book more simpler.
'The First Monsters.' Elizabeth thought to herself, This was a good name for the first animals or beast in this primordial world. She knew that there would be a lot of new creatures as time passes but it was still interesting to record every monster that is within the first century of the primordial world. This is why she name the book, The First Monsters since it will take a lot of time to pass through the first century of the world.
After a while of Preparing Mentally, Elizabeth stared at the book that didn't have anything inside it and began to write. When Elizabeth said write, She literally ate the whole book and that was where she began writing about the first monsters in the primordial world.
She began writing about the first monster she met, This monster was the first monster she also fought and the monster also almost killed her by using its tail to slap her for a dozens of kilometers away. This was the Behemoth, Her main enemy and her possible rival due to its Growth rate.
[Behemoth: A monster that is conceived to be very huge, It looked like a crocodile with many more variants like having a lizard legs and its mouth although looked like a crocodile had the size of an Alligator's mouth probably in between from the sizes. This Monster has a red eyes that would scare anyone that looked at it, This creature would possibly be the king of the Land itself.]
'A good description.' Elizabeth thought after she wrote the first monster, The Behemoth was something she wanted to destroy. But she was strong enough to do what she wanted so all she could do is wait for her own to grow. She didn't fear the Behemoth or anything but she was incredibly pissed when her body split into many parts.
'Another monster.' Elizabeth thought about another monster, But the first thing she thought was the Ancient Dragon. Although she called them Wyverns, They had the genes of an Ancient Dragon which means that it was possible for them to evolve into one.
[Ancient Dragon: Ancient Dragon, legendary monster usually conceived as a huge, bat-winged, fire-breathing, scaly lizard or snake with a barbed tail. The belief in these creatures apparently arose without the slightest knowledge on the part of the ancients of the gigantic, prehistoric, dragon-like reptiles. The current information about the Ancient Dragon is unknown but they can be called the King of the Sky.]
'More.' Elizabeth continued on writing another Monster, And this monster was the monster she destroyed or probably massacred. It was a memorable monster for her since she manage to destroy thousands or hundreds of thousands of it alone. It was a good experience for her especially when she saw the drama between the monsters which was very good.
[Ant Empress: This Ant is a Creature that controls the ants via telepathy and there is also a possibility that the ants were controlled by Mind Control, It was conceived to be a giant creature and has the possibility to grow into something humongous. This monster is the start or the first creature of the Ant Civilization. Each ant has the possibility to evolve into something like an Ant Empress but more information is need for the evolution process.]
'Now that I am talking about the Ant Empress, Why not introduce the whole species.' Elizabeth thought to herself, It would be confusing since most of the monsters that can be seen is the ants so not including the ant would be very confusing. And With this in mind Elizabeth began writing about the ants species, She would also write the things that she knew about them.
[Ant Primordial: This Ant is an old ant species that are monsters on its own, They would grow nonstop and be an unstoppable force as time passes. And this Ants are also divided into two groups, The First group is the Worker ants which would be responsible of the whole colony or the ones that are making it run. The Second group is the Soldier ants which would be responsible of the whole colony's safety and security, Also the main colony's battle force. Sizes are unknown but Soldier ants are 4 times bigger than an Worker ant.]
'The Primordial name is a made up name but they are clearly different from an Ant which is very small.' Elizabeth thought, The Primordial was just a made up name so that it won't be classified with the normal ants. Maybe it is just an another species of ants that are more bigger and powerful than normal?
'And the Ant Queens, How can I forget them. They are literally the heart of the colony.' Elizabeth thought about the ant queen, After thinking about them she began writing about the ant queen on her book. There was a lot of things to be considered but it was easy for her.
[Ant Queen: This ant is responsible for the whole Ant Colony growth, They are more bigger than soldier ants and are rumored to be the last rank to go before becoming an Ant Empress. This Queens are protected although not much protected like the Ant Empress they are still very protected.]
'Now that I am done about the ants, What monster do I write.' Elizabeth thought as she scour her memories about the monsters she met, It took a lot of time but a while later she finally found the monster. This may be the last monster she would write in this book and she also knew that there would be more monsters later.
'The Bastard.' This was what she remembered about the monster, She didn't have a good memory about that monster and is possibly the second hated monster other than the behemoth which is really weird. But this monster was the one that almost ate her while she was unconscious which was why she was very angry at it.
[Legendary Fox: A Fox creature that could come in many colors, The Fox is a deceptive creature and a very greedy creature that could rival Greed itself. Manipulative and Teasers are their main instinct which made them very annoying, There is a possibility that the Fox would be very powerful and control many abilities that could manipulate anyone. One of its ability that is possible is probably Illusion or Shapeshifting.]
'Is there another one?' Elizabeth thought to herself for a sec, And after a lot of thinking it seems that she wouldn't find another monster she met. There is nothing interesting since most of the things she saw are animals and probably nothing special about them, She also didn't want to bother with weak creatures that has no unique thing and could be found in many worlds.
That is right, Animals exist in this world ranging from all types of Animals. It was just not monster but it make sense since the world needed animals to thrive unlike monster which is like a unique thing that could possibly destroy the balance of the world. But since it is the starting point of the world there is no thing such as balance.
'It seems that I am done, I would continue the book if I found something interesting.' Elizabeth thought to herself, The Book was already stored inside her body and was currently floating around it. No matter how she moves herself, The book wouldn't leave her body and wouldn't obstruct her movement which is a good thing.
After completing the first part of her book, Elizabeth began to continue on her way towards the west.

In the snowy mountains of the northern region, A kingdom exist that conquered many territories with their mighty hero.

She was the strongest woman alive and serve the kingdom for her whole life.

But she was betrayed, After conquering the last kingdom in the Northern Regions. She was betrayed by her so called comrades, They drugged her and threw her into the prison for execution.

Her family was executed in front of her, she could hear their screams. She devoted her life to the so called god but she was labeled as a demon.

Her faith wavered and the Devil whispered into her ears corrupting her soul. The Devil told her the truth about the experiences of her family before they were killed.

She was called a Naive, Innocent, and Idiotic although she was the strongest hero in the north. She was called a pathetic little girl who knows nothing and devoted her whole life for a God that would not notice her.

She broke  down after hearing the insults of the Devil which was mostly true. She just wanted for her suffering to stopped which cause the Devil to take something that cause her to suffer.

She was burned at the stake alive by the kingdom she was loyal and the angry mob that kept cursing and swearing at her and her family. She was disappointed at the humans that she once tried to protect.

So to end her suffering, The Devil took her Emotions and throws her to the Primordial World. She must survive there and raised her power into something unimaginable.

Then She was turn into a monster.

The MC won't try to be a human anymore, Although she would get a humanoid form in the later chapters. She won't try to pretend as if she was still a human.

Be warned that the MC is a monster, Moral Codes of Humanity disappeared on her when she turned into a monster.

"Mistress," I peel my eyes open and blink a few times. What came into view was the brilliant golden hair color of the child. His features soon came into focus and I quickly begin to remember where I am. 

"Did something happen?" I ask him quickly. My whole body was tense. 

"No, it's just morning," he says cutely, as he sunk back down onto the branch. "We thought that we should wake you up," he says jerking his head towards Royal. 

I glance at my snake baby, and he nods his head agreeing with what the small child said. It looks like while I was asleep, they'd gotten on quite well. That was always a good thing, for others to get along. 

"That means that nothing happened during the night?" I ask him. 

He ducks his head slightly and I felt a bit of anxiety at that response. 

"What happened?' I ask. 

He pauses before he turns around to face me. Now we're looking eye to eye. 

"There were a few monsters that wandered towards us, but I took care of them. It wasn't any of the monsters from the castle. Just some monsters from the forest itself," he says while looking down at his hands. 

Which he was twisting nervously. 

I let out a sigh of relief. It seems that he was indeed a capable monster, I'd gotten lucky in beating him it would seem. My gaze drifted towards Royal, maybe, it was a bit of inhuman luck that I had. 

"I'm not mad at you, I'm impressed that you were able to take care of everything by yourself. I'd assumed that since you specialize in mental attacks that you would be physically weak…was I perhaps mistaken?" 

He quickly shakes his head and I roll my eyes; it was time to look over the book and the contacts. I summon both of them from the ring. 

A contact case that's completely black with golden eyes appears, underneath of it is a book. The book was strange, it has the face of a clown on it and behind the clown is the design of a Ferris wheel all of the design are cartoonish. 

Extending my hand, I give the book to the golden child in front of me. He takes it with open hands. Leaving me with the black contact case. He looks at the book in his hand with great interest. 

I screw open the cap of one of them and inlaid in a black liquid inside of the case is a rainbow-colored contact lens. It was beautiful.

Without further delay, I scoop the contact up out of the black liquid and quickly place it into my eye. I repeat the step for the second one as well, with that over, the contact case melts, transforming into black liquid. 

It quickly seeps into my flesh, and the palms of my hands feel like they're being burned. Flipping my hands, open I find that my hands have two eyes burned into them, they're golden and remind me of the eyes that had been on the contact case. 

Was this permanent? 

Flipping them over, I just shake my head, there wasn't anything that I could do. Blinking a few times, I look up at the Golden child in front of me. 

Above his head, a screen appears. 

「Mental Clown Lvl.21」

I choke a little, he was level twenty-one. He was a higher level than me! 

I look over at Royal. It would be safe to expect him to be abnormal as well…

「???」

There was nothing but question marks above his head, did that mean that he was unknown…

What sort of monsters had I fallen into? 

Rubbing a hand down my face, I close my eyes and finch the bridge of my nose. It was safe to say that I had an advantage considering the strength of theses Monsters, but it was also mind-numbing to think that there are stronger monsters in that castle. 

Opening my eyes, I focus on the two in front of me. They're both looking at me with high expectations. I felt my stomach flip flop, I was glad that I had these two at my side. 

The golden child had a face of glee as he flips through the book that was in his hand. He looked completely enraptured in the book. His eyes are practically twinkling like stars. The book I'd given to him to hold was the guide for this world. 

"Mistress! This book has a section about me!" He says quickly flipping the book around. Doing so to allow me to see the passage. 

In the passage, a similar picture of him did appear. However, it the original look of when he'd been a monster, this child-like look he was sporting now wasn't documented in the book. Was this a special feature of my own special skill? 

I reach out and take the book from his hands. Skimming the page, I look for anything that suggests that there was a transformation that this creature would undergo if obtained by a Player. 

It didn't reference a transformation for a monster, it just simply stated that a ring would drop that allowed you a onetime summon of that certain monster. Whereas my skill was broken, as long as I had MP, I could summon any monster on my list. 

Making this drop rate even better than what was listed in the book. I also had the feeling that the higher my luck went the better the chance that I would have to obtain that monster. With that thought in mind, I wanted nothing more than to pour almost all my points into my luck stat.

But that was a little hasty. It was safe to say that it would be a little hasty to dump everything into one place, especially when I felt really weak against these monsters. After fighting two of these stronger and advance monsters in a row, I learned just how inexperienced I was in combat. 

These monsters had more thought and reasoning than just the mindless clowns that I had fought in that hallway after first waking up. That was playtime, this was the beginning of the real combat that was happening, a life and death situation. 

In this life and death situation, I found myself with two monsters, I'd lost the only other Player. In this sense, I was completely by myself but I still had my subordinates, basically. 

Flipping through the book, I stop when I see a description of the mini-game that I found myself in…「Clown's Seek」. I wanted to hurl the book at the sight of that fucking name. 

Sucking in a deep breath, I begin to scan the page.  

There wasn't that much information on it; it was ranked a Hell mission. The reason for that was the second stage that can be triggered if one doesn't finish the first stage. It was unlikely that someone that was fresh as snow would survive this challenge. Or that's at least what the book was telling me. 

In terms of overall clearing of this stage, it was in the single digits. This really was such an unfavorable situation. 

There was a list of people that had cleared the minigame, and I sucked in a deep breath. They all we're elites in terms of their level. Most of them are above fifty, I was sitting her at level eight. Most of the monsters in this minigame are over level fifteen. 

Biting my lip, I want to cry, this luck stat was bullshit! If I was lucky, I wouldn't have found myself in this damn game, to begin with. 

I'd almost given up hope, but I flip the page and a section straight out of a holy text appears. 

「The second round, of the minigame, is the true salvation of a player. If one can complete the minigame, being under level 20. A special prize will be rewarded to them, along with a specialized skill!

Higher-level players will receive world currency in replace of a specialized skill. 

Outside of the rewards, solo clearing the minigame will also reward a randomized prize. 」

I remember Matthew, telling me that there was a handsome reward in clearing the first part. He apparently, wasn't stupid enough to tempt fate, and risk the second trail. In the end, he'd still overestimated his skills and gotten killed in the process. 

This wasn't a joke. 

Nothing about this was simple, without Royal and this powerful skill I'd gotten. I'd be in his same boat; I probably wouldn't even survive half as long as him. 

I clench the book, and continue reading, but there wasn't anything else that was helpful. Most of the information was about the first section of the minigame, it seems that a fair few had cleared that. 

It was an easy clear if you had enough people, you'd just have to split the reward. But that was a small price to pay to survive. 

Then all the strong players, that had cleared the second round, didn't seem to want to share the information. But that wasn't a surprise, this was a simple concept that was followed by everyone that was strong. 

As if that triggered something, I felt a prickling behind my eyes, as if something was scratching to get out. 

The echoing sound of a man's voice starts in my head. 

'It's simple like Darwin's rule of natural selection, the weak die out, while the strong continue on and survive. It's survival of the fittest, remember ****, the strong keep strong by never allowing the weak to get strong!' 

Darwin…

I hadn't been able to remember anything, since the moment I'd become conscious. Had that been a memory… the man's voice had seemed so familiar, almost like he was talking to me. 

He'd said a name, but I hadn't been able to understand it at all. However, I can't shake the feeling that I did know that voice, and that he'd been calling my name. 

Who had I been before, I'd woke up here?
