"Hello you pieces of shit!" Alan said to all of them

"Let us go right now!"

The Nobles kept on yelling at Alan and threaten him with death.

"Shut up!" Alan yelled with his loudest voice shutting the Nobles up.

"If you guys don't know it already, I'll refresh your memories a bit!"

"I don't give a fuck about your status of being Nobles! And don't even think about threatening me with those barks of yours!"

"I killed 4 Celestial Dragon already so don't even think for a second I'm afraid of you lot!"

"4!..Bu-But aren't you afraid of the admirals!..." A Noble asked nervously.

"HAH! The marines? Admirals? What can they do to me? I already dealt with one of their admiral." Alan informed them all.

"Impossible!"

"Think whatever you like, Just know that the marines have no power over me!"

The Nobles went quiet with fear, they all hoped that a admiral could help them, but alas even a admiral couldn't do anything.

"Wh-what will you do with us?"

"Kill you of course." 

"No w-way!"

"I'm not sticking around!"

Hearing what Alan said a few Nobles tried running away however reality is cruel.

Before they could even run out of Alan sight, their legs were chopped off.

"ARGG!"

"HELP ME!"

"ME LEGS!"

The rest of the Nobles that were thinking about running away immedietly throw the idea away.

"If you guys are obedient I'll send you all of painlessly, but if all of you insist on resisting..."

"Amaterasu!"

The body of the Nobles that got their legs cuts were covered with black flame. The Nobles all yelled i agony before they all turned to dust.

"Mmmm?"

"Seems like they arrived."

On the outskirt of the island, marines ship can be seen surrounding the whole island.

"Surrender yourself Alan The Outsider!"

"We got you surrounded!"

"Released the Nobles now or suffer the consequences!" A marine captain yelled through his speaker.

Walking towards the outskirt of the island, a giant ship can be seen with 10 smaller ship behind it.

"Do you really expect me to surrender just because you said so?!"

"What's more you idiots didn't even bring a admiral with you all, how stupid must you all be!" Alan said giving of a smile towards the crowd of marines.

"We are more than enough to take you all down!" The marine captain retort.

"Really now?"

"Since you all are so confident."

"Then please entertain me." Alan said giving off his develish smile.

"Arrogant Child!"

"All troop initiate the plan!"

Marines then pop out from behind Alan aiming their guns towards Alan's back.

While Alan was being held to gun point, the Nobles that Alan brought out to kill were all rescued and brought on bored the marines ship.

"Put your hands up!" A marine yelled towards Alan.

Alan didn't listen and instead moved closer to the edge.

Looking at the Nobles that safely arrived on the marine ship, Alan just gave of a smile.

The Nobles that were succesfully rescue, all went towards the deck of the ship to talk to the captain.

"You piece of trash marines! Where were all of you when I was kidnapped!"

"That's right! Why didn't you come save us sooner!"

The Nobles all complain towards the captain one after another.

"We are very sorry!" The marine captain bow apologizing.

"Fucking trash!" One of the Noble hit the marine captain.

"I can't believe my security is on you trash!" Another Noble joined in.

"Hmph!"

"We'll talk about it when we arrive back later, but for now I want to see that trash die!" The Noble yelled out pointing towards Alan.

"Bu-But sir, our higher up told us to capture him if possible." The captain replied back.

*Smack!*

The captain was hit once again.

"I don't care what your higer up said! I want to see him dead!"

"DO YOU UDNERSTAND ME TRASH!"

"Ye-Yes sir." The marin captain replied back.

"HAHAHAHAHA" Alan laughed looking at the scene.

"What are you laughing about trash!" The Noble said.

"Im laughing because of how stupid you all are! HAHAHA!"

"What did you say bastard!"

"I SAID IM LAUGHING AT HOW STUPID YOU IDIOTS ARE!"

The Nobles were now fumming with even more anger, turning their face red.

"KILL HIM! KILL HIM NOW!" The Nobles all said.

"HAHAHAH! Did none of you listen to me what I said before?" Alan asked the Nobles.

"Stop acting tough! Don't you see that your surronded!" The Nobles yelled out in anger.

Alan didn't say anything inturn but instead just pointed his finger up.

"Scared now?! That's what I thought trash!" The Nobles yelled.

Alan still didn't respond and still kept his finger pointing up.

"What are you stupid dogs doing! Can't you see he's standing still for you to kill!" A Noble yelled towards the marines behind Alan.

The marine behind Alan not knowing how to respond looked towards their captain.

The captain just gave a small nod, giving confirmation to shoot Alan.

Understanding the nod, The marines were ready to shoot, however before they could, a giant shadow loomed over them.

Confused on what caused such a shadow they all looked up.

They all peed their pants looking at the cause.

From above a giant meteor looms over the island.

The Nobles looking at the giant meteor all collapsed on the gorund unable to comprehend what is going on.

For the marines they weren't able to handle it any better.

They all seemed to have lost their will to fight and just dropped their weapons on the ground.

Alan looking at the reaction could not help but feel satisfy.

'That's the face I wanted to see! Understand that there is no hope!'

"I hope you all enjoy my gift." Alan said before he dissapeared leaving the marines and Nobles behind.

Appearing far away, looking at the island about to be destroyed by his meteor, Alan smiled.

Back on the island, the marines and Nobles could not utter any word in respond by the situation.

All they think about is that they messed with the wrong man, or to be exact they had just messed with a devil.

The meteor came closer and closer towards the island until finally it landed.

The meteor was now started to be set on fire.

*Boom!*

The impact of the meteor and island sounded all over the sea.

The shockwave ran along the water as if it was the flash towards the whole sea.

Waves were created one after another, Tsunami can be seen.

The Earth shocked.

Fire started spreading.

Chunck of the meteor were send flying.

The island and the marines ship were all gone.

What was left was a giant crater.

Lava and fire were everywhere.

Overseering this was Alan.

Looking down at yet another masterpiece he had created.

"Beautiful!~"

Alan made sure that even though the meteor was big, he limit it to only destroying the designated location.

"I wonder what my bounty will become?" Alan asked himself while looking at the destruction.

Alan then once again disappeared from the location.































I am writing this fan-fic for fun since I am stuck at home. There will be grammar and plot holes in the story. I will write when I can. The MC will also be stupidly powerful and will only continue to grow.

Don't expect a lot of world-building or some amazing plot,
this is just a wish-fulfillment story.

Rudolf was an opponent, who was difficult to kill with a sword or poison. That was why they tried to blow his entire army away along with him. 

"However, it was said that the attempt had failed because of Marquis Kepler, the Meister of Baroque Imperial Magic Tower, who managed to find it."

"That is a shame. But, aren't the rebels in the Baroque supposed to be the peasants? Do they even have the ability to set up traps of that size?"

In the Baroque Empire, it was believed that the Libiya Kingdom and the Volga Republic were secretly supplying gunpowder and wizards, so did the intelligence department of Symphonia judge that. 

"I see. You can go back."

After sending out Hudson, Luke called for Belfair. 

It wasn't because he didn't believe in Argos, but he needed to cross-check the information and get more detailed facts. 

"There is nothing unusual about the Libiya Kingdom. The same as what the Intelligence chief reported. Instead, there was a story that the public sentiment is shaking as the war is going longer than expected."

"Rather than that, Your Majesty, are you going to make the parliament?" Belfair asked carefully. 

Since he was a demon, he didn't really worry about the political issues surrounding the kingdom.

After Mayers's death at Reynold's hands, the nobles of Milton surrendered to Luke and asked him to be the new king. 

That was how the Symphonia Kingdom was born, and more than half of the nobles were from the former Milton Kingdom. 

When the parliament got created, there was a great amount of belief that they would try to influence the legislation and internal affairs of the state. 

The power of the kingdom would be passed to the nobles. 

"Belfair, do you really think that I'll go ahead with the decision without any thought?"

"Then… Ah! You are going to turn the nobles into slaves. If you do that, they will be near your feet as loyal puppets."

True nobles owned territories and gigantic castles. Even the lowest of nobles oversaw hundreds of millions of people. The continent of Avalon was so large, it was impossible to ever get to the middle of the continent if one was at the far edges in twenty lifetimes. Therefore, there were millions of nobles in the country that governed areas for the Blitz Empire alone. There were probably hundreds of millions if one considered the other kingdoms in the continent of Avalon.
 
At any given time, there is always a rebellion happening inside these large empires. There are always tragedies and suffering. So that begs the question, what are nobles, those who care at least, supposed to do to help their people? Especially when a crisis occurs every second.
 
The nobles never found the answer to that question. Therefore, as generations passed, nobles thought that it was their duty to keep the land safe and not the people. They had forgotten the reasons their ancestors were elected to be in positions of power. Even now, no matter how many peasants and commoners were killed, they would not lift a finger until property gets damaged.
 
The highly romanticized knights in the eyes of commoners were left wondering what they were doing was right. They were given power, training, and funding with the commoners thinking it was their job to protect the wellbeing of citizens just to find out the knights only protected noblemen's property.
 
Knights were essentially just bodyguards for the nobles. Therefore, villagers themselves usually solved their own problems. If there was a shortage of food, either they do population control or they attacked other villages.
 
The nobles looked the other way in instances like this since there was never a shortage of workers. Even if ten villages went down in flames, their territory would not feel a thing. Of course, an excess of violence had to be dealt with lest the peasants forgot who was ruling them.
 
As Village Chiefs, and especially those chiefs within the Burdol House territory, they only needed to worry about the other villages. Things like pacts with bandit groups and other villages could make a raid go wrong.
 
This was the dichotomy the Homr Village Chief faced. His people inside the Worl Village were not that high up in the village's ranks. He only had a simple understanding of the relationships. However, he was still ready to make a move. If he could convince the 'nobles' from the village to help him attack, then he could secure food for his people and cargo to trade with the Red Rising Merchant Group.
 
"Do you know why I have called this gathering?" The Village Head asked solemnly. His long red hair accented his deeper red eyes. His fit body reminded everyone in this room how he got the position of the Village Head.
 
One of the slimy-looking people smiled uncertainty, "Isn't it to prepare for the Graduation Exam?"
 
To gather all of the nobles in one place and also to keep spies unexpecting, the Village Head used the Graduation Exam as a cover for his war plans. And it worked, everyone in the village thought that the nobles were going to go over the exam.
 
"In a sense, yes." He said mysteriously, "The main reason I asked you to come is to deal with a problem. Our people are unable to work so we cannot provide tradable times for the Red Rising Merchant Group."
 
Siii!
 
The nobles who were once calm stood up quickly and with such rigor that one of the chairs broke.
 
"MAKE THEM WORK DAMN IT!" The fattest noble, a blacksmith, yelled as spit flew everywhere.
 
"They have children, tell them they are working to support their families too." A soft-spoken scribe said grimly.
 
A couple of other people spoke as well. They were essentially all agreeing with sacrificing a few thousand abled men so that their families could live. The Village Head sat still listening to all this. His eyes growing gloomier with every new agreement.
 
'Have you forgotten the same could be said about you? Have you forgotten that you aren't true nobility?' the Village Head thought but did not comment. He needed their support for the raid.
 
"It is no longer a matter of who is willing to work but a lack of work to be given. The wood prices have decreased manyfold over the years. We lack a skilled hunter to sell fur and leather. Our livestock is only enough to feed 2/3rds of the population. If these men riot, we are done for." The Village Head reminded them. They were outnumbered by a grand amount. Even if they were all in the Legendary Sequence and contracted an Astral Pet, they would not be strong enough to survive a rebellion at that level.
 
The 'nobles' frowned as if realizing that fact. Their day-to-day lives were too comfortable that they have forgotten how fragile the scale they were on was.
 
"So what do you suggest?" The scribe asked the Village Head.
 
The Village head's eyes glowed red as he activated his ability. The coldness of the room vanished, and they gave a comfortable shiver. Each person in the room slid back down comfortably.
 
"War on the Worl Village." He said slowly. "We have a couple of problems we need to address. The most important right now is the lack of food. A rebellion could be made any second now. The second most important problem is overpopulation. We need to thin the numbers to make the commoners more manageable. The last problem is the lack of tradable items. A war of Worl Village would help us hit every single problem."
 
The Village head scowled in his mind as he reasoned with the nobles. It was as if they had forgotten that they were just as insignificant to the Barons of Burdol house. They had forgotten how their ancestors were the first to be sacrificed in times of trouble.
 
The Village head took the time to convince everyone.
 
"What about the exam?" The fat blacksmith asked.
 
"What's a better examination than in war?" The Village Head answered.
 
The pacified nobles went into a hissy fit.
 
'This is going to take forever.' The Village head thought.

Most nobles, seeing a Dantian Core Formation of the 7th string dying like that, felt their heart freeze in fright. 

Suddenly, one of the nobles screamed, "CALM DOWN!" 

Whether he screamed for calm down himself or the others, not even he knew; yet he knew one thing, "If we give up now, only death will be our option, is that what you want?"

The other nobles hearing him quickly calmed themselves, he was right, if death was the only option, why would they give up at all? It was better to not surrender instead and grab that small chance of victory!

With this new determination, their eyes became devoid of panic and filled in resolution.

Suddenly, the earth began to rumble, as if predicting the arrival of something tremendous.

From afar, the nobles noticed a silhouette moving, yet not getting closer. Taking a better look, they noticed that the silhouette was a large solid cube, with many holes in the front.

They were all puzzled, what was that?

As if answering their question, one of the holes appeared to explode, and something came out of it, aiming toward the nobles.

*Boom*

Observing it, their expression quickly turned frightened: it was another dart!

Knowing that they would die if hit and that a wall would not stop it, they decided to use a different spell: Lightning! If they could make the darts explode before they reached them, wouldn't that be enough?

Nodding to each other, they all began chanting:

"I request thee;

Lend me your light;

Defeat my foes;

Lightning!"

In front of them, following the chant appeared a small light, which appeared to be charging until it suddenly shot toward the dart.

*BOOM*

Hitting it, the dart exploded mid-air, and the nobles rejoiced: the hope wasn't yet lost!

"We can defend from the darts! Quickly prepare yourself for the next one!" Once motivated the nobles again, the noble who just talked turned back again toward the source of the darts, but he suddenly froze.

From the large solid cube, not only one or two darts came out, more than ten were launched every second!

*Fiuuu*

In the sight of the nobles, the darts didn't appear as darts anymore, but as enormous calamities falling from the sky!

Witnessing the barrage of darts, many nobles were losing hope, yet none of them stopped from using the lightning magic, hoping to stop the darts.

Suddenly, in front of one noble who just completed the chant, a light appeared, which shot toward a dart… however the dart evaded it!

The noble seeing it, fell on the ground, "Did they... learn how to dodge the lightning?" The realization dumbstruck all of them, how were they supposed to defend now?

Frowning, one of the nobles insisted, "We could try to gain control over this Illusion Realm."

His words lit up many eyes, "If we focus together for it, maybe we can!"

Focusing on the darts, the nobles tried to gain control over them, however, no matter how they gritted their teeth, the darts would not budge.

"This is impossible… just how much control does he have over this Illusion Realm?" A voice in disbelief from the nobles caused panic over all of them, wasn't this just a torture? Did he make this to punish us from trying to escape earlier?

Losing all hope, they fell on the ground, staring at the incoming darts. If they use a wall the darts will evade it, if they use a lightning the darts will still evade it… and the sheer amount of darts was already enough by itself to kill everyone… what were they supposed to do?

Even the noble who first tried to calm the others was frightened now, no matter what he thought, he couldn't find a single solution.

As if using the chance that all the nobles lowered their guard, the ground under the nobles suddenly vanished.

Abruptly losing their footing the nobles were all shocked, failing to react quick enough before hundreds of swords stabbed all of them. Even upon death, their eyes were still wide open in disbelief.

After confirming that they were all dead, Shu Himo smirked, 'There is no way they could break the Illusion Realm thanks to my new ability with the violin: Vibrational Waves! By filling the Illusion Realm with imperceptible waves that disrupt the concentration of who is trapped within, I can prevent most people from breaking the Illusion Realm and instead enhance its effect!'

Ixander was brought to the nearest triage station before being transported to the nearest hospital.
Simjen immediately went to Ixander after hearing that he was shot from a representative present in the diet.
"What?! What happened?!" asked Simjen
"Sir, Ixander was shot…at his shoulder!" said the representative.
Without further ado, Simjen galloped his horse going to the triage station where he was temporarily in.
Ixander was wailing and screaming in pain. "AHH! Ah—STOP THE DAMNED BLEEDING!" said Ixander.
"Stop the bleeding first before we bring him to the hospital" said Simjen.
They stopped Ixander's bleeding and applied the right pressure to it. Afterwards, Ixander was brought to the nearest hospital.
Of course, news of the assassination attempt rang throughout the Axis continent. The headlines of most partisan newspapers goes "PRIME MINISTER IXANDER SHOT BY EXTREMIST", "IXANDER SHOT; LIVINIAN FUTURE UNSURE"
King Stijepan of course received the news. "I must go to hi--…"
"No Sire, you mustn't! The assassin may still have been lurking around the area, we cannot have your life be endangered again" said his aid, still bowing whilst talking to the King. 
King Stijepan then slowly sat at his throne. Not being able to do anything.
The Next three days, the hospital was filled with the loyal supporters of Ixander who tries to guard the entire complex in case someone tries to infiltrate the premises of the hospital.
"Oh wow! Look at that! There are so many people who are concerned of the safety of the hospital!" said the hospital director.
"Ha! Don't presume it's for you, doctor. It's for Ixander" said another doctor.
"Let me have my damned moment, Ranjer!" said the director.
And on that same day, the verdict has been decided upon the nobles that have been tried.
"Before we give the verdict to each and every one of you, I must inform that yesterday, the King has stripped the Counts of their titles, and their families will be under the custody of the state…"
The representatives clapped, but the nobles were horrified at what they heard.
"The Nobles can rest assure that the treatment of their families will be much better than how these nobles treated theirs" said the deputy as the entire crowd of representatives laughed.
"Now, may I ask if the nobles have any more final defense for themselves before the verdict?" asked the deputy.
None of the nobles raised their voice and just looked down on the floor, thinking that everything is done for.
The deputy then passed the verdict paper to the President of the Diet. The President then announced the verdict.
"We will go first on those that has been indicted by King Stijepan as free. The decision has also been shared by Grandquester Ixander, Prime Minister of Livinia."
The President then opened the paper containing the decision, announcing "Baron Aaronus, Count Masatran, you are sentenced to two weeks imprisonment…"
The crowd was confused and Baron Aaronus and Count Masatran breathed a sigh of relief.
"King Stijepan and Grandquester Ixander moved the motion that the decision be upon the representatives to indict the remaining individuals" said the President.
And so, the results of the ballot were taken out, revealing upon the President the count which will decide the indictment to the remaining nobles.
"In a count of three hundred seventy two Yea, and one hundred twenty-eight abstains, the indictment to Baron Alfard… on accusations of corrupting the treasury of the Minister of the Court, and opening illegal activities inside the borders…is death!"
The crowds cheered in great marvel as they kissed each other in cheeks.
The gavel was pounded again to silence the crowds of cheering.
"Baron Auhinett…will be placed to prison as more than two hundred seventy four representatives have voted to abstain. Let us then move on to the next one."
The attention of the crowds were once again caught.
"In a count of four hundred twenty four Yea and seventy-six abstains, Count Alvija, with accusations of abuse of power, corruption in his Ministry, and his abandonment of a child…is sentenced to death!"
Again, the crowds were cheering in the death of an oppressor. Again, the gavel was pounded to hear the verdict of the next individual.
"In a count of three hundred twenty eight Nay, seventy-seven Yea and ninety-five abstains, Count Nuaijka, has been decided that he will be freed, as per the indictment of votes. The tribunal was also not convinced of the crimes he was accused with."
What actually happened was Count Nuaijka weeped silently as false accusations have been made against him. Among the entire retinue of the nobles, Count Nuaijka is the only one that is innocent as, in reality, he saw camaraderie amongst the nobles he is with. But now that he saw Count Germahin's attitude, he rather not be in favor of them.
The whole Diet was quiet when they heard the verdict. This made it easier for the President to speak for the next person.
"In a count of four hundred ninety seven Yea and three abstains, Count Germahin, charged with Corruption and Embezzlement of funds directed towards the Court Welfare, abuse of power and of commoners, he is sentenced… to death!"
In grand celebration of the announcement, the crowds inside the hall cheered, and they all saw the three nobles in despair.
"Silence! The Nobles indicted to death will receive execution by lottery of way" said the President.
The lottery of way is the heaviest form of punishment in Livinia. In this, they are not to choose their method of execution, instead, the boxes, where inside there are aluminum balls, on which inside there is the paper with the name of the execution method is written, is drawn upon by whichever the president picks.
The president then shakes the container of the lottery, then picks one of the aluminum balls. He then unwrapped the aluminum, revealing the execution method written.
"The nobles will be executed in the way of…firing squad of three rows!"
The crowd then cheered again. Some of the attendees, which are representatives, said "What is wrong with you people? Cheering over a method of execution?"
"Why not? HAHA!! Finally, finally something is happening!"
The representative just placed his hand on his face in disagreement.
The guards then led the nobles to their final place of living. They were then aided by the executioner.
The nobles then went against the wall, all with their ropes still tying them. Against the nobles, facing them were three lines of muskets, ready to shoot against the nobles. The Executioner then raised his arms as the muskets make ready to shoot the nobles. The muskets were lined
"MAKE READY!"
"PRESENT!"
"FIRE!!"
This was repeated three times, aiming at the nobles in front of them. Each volley, seven muskets were fired. In total, there are about twenty-one muskets that fired against the nobles.
The people cheered in unison as they heard volleys after volleys of firing against the nobles. The only noble not indicted was Count Nuaijka. Count Nuaijka then visited Ixander at the hospital. He was blocked by some of the supporters of Ixander. 
"You, who are you, and who are you visiting?" asked one of the militant guards in the hospital.
"I am here to visit Grandquester Ixander to express my gratitude for a second chance…" said Count Nuaijka.
"Well, I can't let you in, you may be--…"
"Let him in" ordered Simjen.
Simjen led Count Nuaijka to Ixander's room. Count Nuaijka is still young and has no immediate family. He also has no children, no wife. Count Nuaijka then waited as Simjen informed to Ixander that Count Nuaijka is outside, trying to visit.
The Militant Guards at the hall is looking with suspicion to Count Nuaijka. Simjen then went outside, nodded at Count Nuaijka and said "Do not worry about them, they have just been hostile as Ixander also received quite the rough things in his life, and they don't want their man to be gone. Do Understand."
Count Nuaijka then entered the room of Ixander. He saw Ixander had just finished his surgery on his shoulder and cannot raise his left arm nor lift with it. Ixander is reading a book at this moment, it is one of the books that he had in his shelter and he fortunately saved it from plunder of the Albanese troops.
"Welcome, Count Nuaijka, Pardon me if I cannot present you any pleasantries…" said Ixander, still laying on his bed.
"That is all fine, I should be ashamed I brought nothing to thank you for your efforts…" said Count Nuaijka
Ixander continued reading, but then looked at Count Nuaijka, being confused, so he asked "What do you mean by efforts? For the last few days, I've b--…"
"I know that well before you have been hospitalized or have been shot, you told the other deputies that I am to be saved. But…But why?" asked Count Nuaijka.
Ixander kept quiet and closed his book with his right hand. Simjen then took away the book.
Count Nuaijka continued "I could have been included…in at least the imprisonment of the other nobles for two weeks… why, Grandquester? What is the reason?"
Ixander then replied "I have looked into the reality of your alliance to those people you have been with. You did not really want their advocacy, but the retinue of those nobles…you have been with them because they were your comrades throughout… so as I have heard from your servants…"
Count Nuaijka was shocked. He humbles himself, kneeling, and crying before Ixander. His weeping is quiet, for finally, after all of these moments, someone caught the reality.
Suddenly, a soldier knocked at the door. Simjen opened the door, asking "What is it?"
"A telegram…" Simjen received the telegram and gave it to Ixander. Ixander just looked at him, saying "Please read it for me…"
Simjen then looked at the telegram. "Sire, the Khatan is on his way in here, she said she left Farkan in command of the affairs" said Simjen.
"Sorry?!" said Ixander

The baroness hosted the afternoon tea party in the banquet hall of the viscount's mansion.
As a matter of fact, this banquet hall was actually the council hall used by many generations of the Sicar family. From the old age, as old as Edatine I, all kinds of matters—important and trivial—were discussed to a decision in this place.
Many decisions that came from this council hall had affected the entire Northern Lands.
Though it was the first that the council hall was used to host an afternoon tea party.
Afternoon tea in Sicar weas held in various places depending on the season.
During the summer, the nobles would choose to host it in the garden so that they could enjoy the windy breeze and the pastries. During the winter, they would choose a study room or an entertainment room to replace the outdoors.
The study room was chosen to host peers or seniors and the entertainment room was for the juniors or lower ranks.
The tea and pastries served at a tea party was also a set of knowledge to learn.
The whole process was extremely complicated, that's why the baroness spent most of her time reading in her chambers.
This time, however, she was forced to step up, clenching her teeth and bracing herself as anxiety plagued her heart.
She was afraid of being drowned by questions or doubts, not very good in dealing with all of these, but it turned out much better than expected.
When she entered the banquet hall, all eyes were on her but it did not feel sharp or hostile, every attendee quite polite and well-mannered.

The baroness heaved a breath of relief, maintaining her noble smile and glanced over everyone. She then made her way to the host's seat.
An afternoon tea party might sound a little casual but it actually had a very pronounced ranking system.

Though the baroness was an exception.
She did not choose a noble Victorian dress like the other noblewomen, preferring to go with a suit instead. Her long pants were white, her clean and fitted suit black and on top of her head was a tall hat of a horse master, her black boots so tall that they covered her shin. Other than the little ruby brooch on her black outer suit, there were no extra apparels on her, walking swiftly and clean like a gentleman.
It was all Bloody Mary's meticulous arrangements though. It needed the true owner of Sicar Land, therefore it didn't mind using little tricks to subtly influence the people around itself.
When everyone laid eyes on the baroness, it really felt like the first meeting. They felt like they saw a general who was a veteran on the battlefield.
As expected of the viscount's younger sister?
She hid from the public eyes because the viscount was too dazzling during normal times!
The thoughts that popped up in the attendee's mind made them even more vigilant.
They knew what the viscount would do if he was around.
As for those who didn't know?

The baroness respected her brother a lot. Even though the relationship was absent of true feelings, she knew if it wasn't for her brother, she wouldn't have lived so long in her own way.
She became a widow at a young age, meaning she was still very healthy and fertile, and after inheriting Baron Nord's wealth and property, had her brother been ruthless and tossed her out like garbage, there would be a line of man who would be willing to be her backup husband, even the big nobles in Edatine Castle. The big nobles wouldn't mind marrying a widow for the sake of a scrumptious 'dowry'.
As a matter of fact, it did happen in the past but the viscount rejected the offer.
The baroness was grateful to her brother.
After her words, the attendees started to look sad and sunk in pain.
Whether it was real or fake, it didn't matter.
A few minutes later, when the servant beside the baroness announced the tea party had begun, the attendees put their smiles back on their faces.
"I have something to announce: the curfew in Sicar will be lifted. From tomorrow onwards, everything in Sicar will return to normal."
The announcement of the new order was welcomed by clapping from the nobles.
The nobles agreed to the new order from the bottom of their hearts.
What was Sicar's biggest income source?
The taxes from the traveling merchants, the prosperity of the market, and the price differences in the many goods on sale.
During the curfew, all the income sources were basically nothing.
Only when the goods were allowed to be sold would the root of Sicar recover from the damage.
The nobles were excited and delighted by the news, the baroness then raised her hand and the applause stopped immediately.
"The second matter revolves around the poor performance of the city guards in their previous duties, I will promote Shegal as our new city guard commander. He will be responsible for the safety of the city, within and beyond, plus the patrol teams. And Forv, he will be appointed as my security chief, responsible for the mansion's security," said the baroness.
None of the nobles objected to the appointments.
If the original commander of the city guards or the chief security were still alive, they would step up and voice their disagreement.
Unfortunately, in the past 3 days, the two of them, who would probably react furiously to the last order, had gone missing.
The nobles at the hall could not afford to voice their disagreement at the baroness' order just for the sake of two missing men, which would probably also put themselves at risk of going missing.
It was not worth it!
Therefore, after the nobles jolted for a moment, they came back to their senses. One after another, they congratulated Shegal and Forv, who were standing at the entrance.
The two young men bowed at the baroness and nodded to the applauding crowd coldly.

The two young men walked over to the several nobles who caused a scene without a second thought, lifted up their sheathed swords, and smashed them into the nobles' face powerfully.

Amid the clear thuds, the few nobles who caused a scene suffered a swollen face, bleeding mouths, and several broken teeth.
Shegal and Forv did not mind teaching a lesson to these nobles who looked down on their God.
As a matter of fact, smashing them on the face was an order from the lord emissary. If they were to have carried out their own will, the two of them would have cut the nobles' tongue.
The two of them had never experienced the filthy wealth of the nobles before but they weren't idiots.
Who would exchange gazes secretly and send each other hand gestures when they were aroused and causing a scene?
The two young men glared fiercely at the nobles they struck down with the gaze of wolves, scanning around the entire hall.
The others dared not exchange glances with them.
Those who were bold enough to retaliate were already cleaned up by Bloody Mary, the rest were just some weaklings who were invited here to fill up the numbers and just so all of this looked fair.
If it wasn't for the sake of the Mist's swift expansion so that it could be its boss' qualified aid, Bloody Mary would never want to do all this.
It preferred to approach things in a straightforward way and the idea also came from its boss and how he did things.
It didn't mind elaborating it though.
Smiling, Bloody Mary looked at the baroness, who was slightly at loss for action. Under her gaze, Bloody Mary returned an encouraging gaze and the baroness immediately straightened her body.
"This is an announcement, not a negotiation. I am just informing you all. Sicar is the land of the Sicar Family, and as the sole ruler of the land, I have the right to do so. Even his Majesty the king cannot object," said the baroness in a decisive tone.
Right after the words subsided, Carl, who was standing in the corner of the hall and tried his best to avoid sight, walked in.
He thought he must do something for his mother, therefore he walked up to the nobles, grabbed them, and dragged them out of the hall like he was pulling a sheep.
"Spare me! Spare me, my lord!"
The pleading sounded, one after another. Carl, however, turned a deaf ear.
Once a noble, Carl knew better than Shegal and Forv what these bastards in his hands were trying to do.
Create conflict so that they could halve his mother's power, devour Sicar family's gains, and strengthen themselves.
Almost instantly, all the thoughts popped up in Carl's mind.
There was no reason for him to spare these bastards.
As the other nobles watched Carl in his black armor and overflowing killer intents drag the few out of the hall, the hall returned to silence. The remaining nobles looked at the baroness like scared quail birds.
The dread and fear, it was obvious in their gazes.
What they heard would always remain as rumours. It was not as impactful as seeing the real thing with their own eyes.
Those familiar acquaintances were just sitting beside them a while ago and yet they were dragged out alive. The remaining nobles were once again warned and reminded who they really were.
The land of Sicar belonged to the Sicar family, not them.
Of course, there were still some who had their own secret thoughts.
'Should I go to the War God Temple right after this tea party?'
It seemed like there were more than a few who shared similar thoughts.
Therefore, these nobles with ulterior thoughts become absent-minded throughout the entire event. No matter how tasty the pastries were, some even left the pastries on the plate after a bite.

It too uphrld the ideal of not wasting food, same went for Shegal and Forv.
Spending the last two days with the emissary, they understood how simple and plain their lord was.
The two young men weren't fond of the nobles initially, so the wasteful behaviour increased their hatred towards the nobles.
Fortunately, the baroness was different, she didn't waste anything.
The tea party ended on a low note. 
The nobles hurried back to their wagons.
Looking at where the wagons were driving to, Shegal and Forv reached out to their swords instinctively. With only a single word from Bloody Mary, the two of them would surely chase after those nobles and take them out.
Though Bloody Mary didn't say anything, looking at the worried baroness.
Land was holy, not even the king could taint it with his name, but so were the Gods!
The divine power triumphed over the king's authority and it wasn't said just for kicks.

"Simon, what should we do now?" The baroness didn't hide the worry in her heart and asked out of anxiety.
Bloody Mary smiled and replied, "We just have to mind our mortal business. Let my lord deal with the matters between Gods."

Inside the Parliament of Nobles in the Nekso Palace.
Torrential rain was pouring outside with deafening thunder and dazzling lightning, as if it were the end of the end, but all the members of the Parliament of Nobles in Rentato had been gathered in the hall. White wigs and black capes could be seen everywhere.
Had it not been for the power of the natural lightning, which made the experts below gold knights too scared to fly here, all the members of the Parliament of Nobles would've been gathered, and it had only been one hour since the Lord summoned King Feltis and Prince Patrick.
Of course, the nobles who could not make it here had also learned from their spokespersons and allies in Rentato remotely and forwarded their opinions.
They had never been more grateful for the Allyn Telephone and the Telegram Company. While the 'wired phones' that they promoted were limited to Rentato and the capitals of a few counties because of the complicated infrastructure and the huge cost that came with it, it was the only means of communication for the nobles who were unable to deploy and use expensive teleportation arrays in such weather. Many nobles decided to help with the promotion after witnessing its advantages.
"How was the prince summoned by the Lord?" Count Henson took a hot bath in the restroom in the Parliament of Nobles and changed his clothes and wig. It was not until then that he was finally freed from shock. He put on a white paper flower and seated himself in the front row, asking James, Duke of Paphos, Russell, Duke of Wolfburg, and Viscount Harrison, who had come after informing the Congress of Magic.
The four of them were the leaders of the Liberal group apart from Prince Patrick. They had to reach a consensus first, or the nobles on their side would lose confidence. 
Duke James put on a white wig in the Parliament of Nobles to cover his bald head. He said sullenly, "I don't know, either. It already happened when Russell and I came to Nekso Palace. We examined the prince's body and discovered no anomaly. It was indeed a collapsed body caused by overwhelming grief. I don't think anybody could've assassinated him when he was protected by His Excellency Kritonia."
Kritonia, 'Heart of Time', was one of the two legendary knights of Holm. In the whole world, there could only be no more than five knights who could reach level three of legendary, he and Rudolf II were among them. As for the legendary knights who reached the peak of legendary, apart from the monsters such as Prince Dracula, Prince Abyss, and the lord of the first level of hell, there was only one among human beings, who was Saint Melmax, the captain of the Temple Knights and a member of the Grand Cardinal.
Although he claimed that no assassinations could've happened under Kritonia, James did not seem certain of it at all.
"His Excellency Kritonia was a hero in the War of Dawn and a legendary knight who crushed the Magic Empire's reign in Holm together with the late king. However, he is approaching the end of his life. He needs to consider and arrange more things than ordinary people do." Duke Russell said expressionlessly, "He cannot observe the situation as quietly as His Excellency Winston of the Solefen family."
Winston, 'Night Walker', was the other legendary knight of Holm, who was now supervising the kingdom's colonies in a few alternate dimensions.
Viscount Harrison sneered, "I, for one, don't believe that the prince passed away because of grief."
Harrison, Henson and the rest of them knew that Patrick had been a crown prince for four decades. It was inevitable that there was a conflict of power between the prince and the king. The two of them hadn't been intimate since a long time ago, particularly when their ideologies differed greatly. The nobles might've believed it if Patrick's body collapsed because of ecstasy.
"With everything coming to this point, we need to forget our grief and focus on two things. Firstly, we need to ask the sorcerers of the Congress of Magic to investigate the prince's death in private. Secondly, we carry out our backup plan and support David to assume the throne." After Count Henson calmed down, his blue eyes became sharp again. 
Patrick had always been in poor condition. The liberal nobles had been prepared that he would die earlier than the king. Therefore, they were not panicked after they passed the initial shock and panic.
David's father was King Feltis' cousin, as well as Archmage Morris' nephew and student. Although he had died in an adventure, David, a grand knight, was completely inclined to the Liberal in daily life as well as in official affairs under his father's tutelage. He was the most suitable candidate of the royal family for the liberal nobles. Also, his bloodline was very close. According to the law of nobles, he was the fourth heir on the list.
"Okay." Duke James nodded heavily and informed the other liberal nobles of the result of their discussion.
A moment later, Rex, 'King's Griffin', the president of the Parliament of Nobles who wore a blue cape and a white wig, walked in, followed by a black-haired, smiling man whose silver grey eyes told everyone unmistakably that he belonged to the Hoffenberg family.
"Gordon!" The liberal nobles became solemn.
Duke James couldn't have looked more awful. "Didn't he claim that he would serve the Lord for his life? Didn't he quit the Sword of Truth's Knights and go to Lance, the Holy City, to join the Temple Knights?"
"A level-eight radiant knight no more than 50, the Torn Sword…" Duke Russell and Viscount Harrison whispered gravely.
Noise echoed in the hall. The other nobles, be they liberals or conservatives, began to whisper to each other. Count Gordon was a genius and an eccentric of the Hoffenberg family. He became a radiant knight when he was only 35 years old. He was appointed as the deputy captain of the Sword of Truth's Knights by King Feltis. However, as a pious believer, he went to the Holy City at 40 and joined the Temple Knights.
His bloodline was much further from King Feltis than David's was. However, his rank as a radiant knight was influential enough to raise his right of succession to be on par with David. While the Hoffenberg family was not unpopulated, most of its members were more distant in bloodline, or were not knights, or they had already embarked on the path of magic, thereby forfeiting their qualification.
Duke James and the other liberals thought that Rex would support Alex, his nephew who had just activated the bloodline of 'Sword of Truth'. Then, in terms of strength or blood connection, David would inherit the throne without suspense. Nobody expected that Gordon would come back.
As the mallet knocked the table ahead, the hall of the Parliament of Nobles immediately fell quiet.
Rex drew a cross on his chest and said sorrowfully, "Our great king, His Majesty Feltis, and our honorable crown prince, His Highness Patrick were summoned by the Lord an hour ago. Let's have a moment of silence and pray that they will be favored by the Lord on Mountain Paradise."
James and the other nobles stood up and drew crosses in the quiet and grievous atmosphere.
Five minutes later, Rex hinted that everybody should sit down and turn tough. "Because His Highness Patrick, heir of the kingdom, has also been summoned by the Lord, without leaving any children, the Parliament of Nobles will elect an heir according to the law. The election will be based on the right of succession, on the premise that they are blessed by the Lord."
By 'blessed by the Lord', he meant that a Grand Cardinal would come to host the ceremony of inheritance.
Rex did not allow the nobles to speak. Pointing at Gordon who was next to him. "The royal family of Holm is in peril after such a strike. Therefore, Count Gordon decided to consider for his family and asked for the Lord's forgiveness. He quit the Temple Knights and returned through the teleportation array of the Church. He is a level-eight radiant knight and of the purest bloodline of 'Sword of Truth'. I propose that he should inherit the throne. Please vote by raising your hands."
"Wait a moment." James stood up and said loudly, "Under such circumstances, according to the law, only if more than two thirds of the members agree and none of the nine dukes objects can the elected inherit the throne. Is it the case, President Rex?"
Rex looked at James gloomily, "Yes, and no. When all the other candidates have no more than one fifth of the votes, the last candidate will not need to meet the requirement. In emergencies, the candidate with more than half of the votes will inherit the throne directly. I believe that it is an emergency right now. The throne cannot be left empty."
"It is not up to you whether or not this is an emergency; it requires everyone's vote. Now, I propose Count David. He is closer to His Majesty in bloodline and much more entitled to the throne than Count Gordon. Also, he is a grand knight who has activated the strength of his bloodline."
James did not speak on the podium but looked around at other nobles on the spot. "I don't think any member will object to the hereditary hierarchy, right? If anyone agrees to it, then the candidates stronger than his son or his grandson can invoke the example and steal the title when they are about to inherit the title, right?"
It was the foundation to keep the nobles in fact. Every noble wanted to leave their title to their direct heir. If the strong were free to rob, every family would be filled with assassinations and internal strife.
Of course, that was one of the reasons why they succumbed to the Church. The independent and powerful church could ensure that nobody would disregard the rules because of their strength.
A conservative stood up and bowed at everybody courteously, "According to the law, the bloodline abilities are the foundation of nobles, and powerful strength will be considered during inheritance. Considering the strength of a radiant knight, Duke Gordon and Count David are on par. Therefore, electing Count Gordon is not in violation of the law and will not result in the collapse of order."
"Also, Count David's father was a sorcerer. We need to consider if he can be blessed by the Lord."
His brief reply completely resolved James' attack.
Count Henson stood up with a feather pen. He also bowed around courteously and said, "Just because the father is a sorcerer does not mean that the son is not a devout believer. Count David has never missed any church session and often donates to the Church. Everybody knows his piety well. I believe that the Lord can certainly see it and tolerate it. Count Gordon, on the other hand, once entered the Temple Knights. I find it hard to believe that he will place the interests of Holm before everything else in the future. This is not blasphemy of the Lord but a confusion of the power of the Church and the power of the king."
At such a moment, he had no time to be subtle but pointed out the confrontation of the two powers.
Gordon raised his hands and smiled, "Speculations are not proof. I believe that I will view the questions of nobles as the king of Holm instead of as a Temple Knight."
The other liberals and conservations stood and offered their opinions. In the end, Rex said, "Now, a show of hands. Those who agree with Count David, please raise your hands."
Arms were raised. They did not seem to be many, but they already made up one third. While the liberals were outnumbered by the conservatives, they were more united.
Rex frowned at that as he could not invoke the first special clause now. Thinking for a moment, he proceeded, "Those who agree with Count Gordon, please raise your hands."
Arms were raised. It did not seem to be a problem that he would have the approval of more than half of the people. Rex began to consider how to make the motion of the state of emergency pass.
Suddenly, the raising of hands was stopped when there was still not half. Rex looked at Duke Solomon, stunned. The noble who had a black mustache shook his head, stating that he would not support candidates with distinctive church backgrounds. As a major leader of the conservatives, his attitude directly influenced many other nobles.
Duke James smiled, "President Rex, it seems that we need to discuss and negotiate for a long time."
Now that Duke Solomon hesitated, he was confident to kick Gordon out through compromises.
Rex fell silent. Looking at the mallet in his hands, he suddenly raised his head, "I will propose another candidate."
He intended to force Duke Solomon and the rest of them to agree with his proposal with the emergency of the situation, but they were more stubborn than he anticipated. He could only activate the backup plan now.
"Who? Who is higher on the hereditary hierarchy than Count David and Count Gordon?" Duke Russell expressed his objection.
Rex replied unhurriedly, "Natasha Violet, Countess of Violet, has activated the bloodline of 'Sword of Truth'. She is closer to His Majesty than Count David is. Also, she is a radiant knight and a devout believer that can be blessed by the Church."
