The Escape

Two small figures were running in a narrow path just below the duke castle. Both had black hair and too good to be true looks, one was a boy who was 13 years old while the other was a girl who was 11 years old. The eleven years old girl had red eyes as if she had cried a lot recently and looked tired from continuously running in the passage.

Ende: "I know you're feeling sad because of what happened to our dad and tired because of running continuously but we have to continue if we want to survive because if we don't there is a chance of our enemies finding the secret exit and pursuing us."

The boy said while pulling the girl forward so that she doesn't lag behind. While they were running the land started shaking and they heard a very loud explosion which cause them fall forward. The boy fell on the floor and pulled the girl towards is direction to cushion the blow of falling down for her.

Eve: "DAD!!!...Why are they d-doing such a terrible thing we had no enmity"

The girl named Eve shouted and after shouting said the next words in a dejected, frightened and trembling voice.

Ende: "All we can do is continue our legacy and repay debts in interest to whoever orchestrated this whole event."

The boy said with resolve and deep hatred. The boy picked up the girl on top of him and then stood up and continued running towards the end of the passage with the girl. They continued running for a while until they could see the exit.

The boy stopped and then turned to look at the girl.

Ende: "After we get out of this tunnel our life will have many difficulties are you ready to face them with me or do you want me send you to another place where you can live more comfortably???"

The girl after hearing him turned toward his face and said in a resolved yet trembling voice.

Eve: "I know I-I won't be much help but I still want to help you and take revenge on those who did this to us and probably even killed dad...I am with you every step of the way from today onwards only you and revenge are the purpose of my life, Ende"

The girl said and let out a few tears when she mentioned her dad. The boy stepped closer to the girl bringing his hand towards her face and wiping out her tears and looked into her eyes deeply as if trying to see through her. He wanted to look into her eyes to see her resolve and was satisfied to see that her resolve was strong. He nodded to the girl and said

Ende: "I've seen your resolve, we need to develop our powers to live safely, protect our loved ones and possibly to take revenge on those who have wronged us today."

The boy might look brave but was also very scared of the uncertain future the siblings will. He was also sad at the loss of his parents but couldn't show it in front of his sister, he had to be the pillar who supports her mentally as that was what his would've expected from him. He needs to be the pillar of the family to continue the legacy of the family, the pillar that will not break in front of any external difficulties, the pillar that will always be the support of his loved ones.

The boy with this deep resolve and clear goal of what his duty entailed held the hands of the girl and opened the door which will lead them to the outside world. Both the boy and the girl held their hands before their eyes because their was not used to the light. It took a few minutes for them to get used to the light before they looked around the room to know where they were.

They were in a lodge in the middle of the forest as it where the secret exit led to. They looked around the room to find things that can be of their use. The room had a cupboard, bed and an office desk with some documents on top of it, as there was a layer of dust formed atop of everything that was in the room it looked like the room was not in use for quite some time which is natural as this lodge was supposed to be kept a secret as the exit of the secret exit led to this very lodge. The documents on top of the desk were related to architecture of the lodge and the map of the forest. The boy looked at the map for some time and deemed it important to keep with them to get out of the forest. To keep the map with them they needed to find a bag in which they can keep other important things acquired in the room as well. 

The boy went towards the cupboard while the girl still searched through the desk drawers to see if there was anything useful for them. The boy opened the cupboard and found many useful things inside. There was water in bottles, food preserved so that they don't rot, and a kit with bandages and other equipment one might need if they get hurt. Th e boy decided to take all the things inside the cupboard, it seems this lodge was prepared with thought of escape in mind as it had everything from map to supplies to medical kid one might need while escaping through the forest. The boy just needed a bag to keep all the things in so he searched the cupboard more thoroughly. This time the boy found out that there was a bag there in the cupboard under the food supplies so the bag problem was solved.

The boy started to fill all the things he deemed useful into the bag when he heard the girl call him.

Eve: "B-brother, look here there is a letter by father for us ..."
