After watching them leave you slammed the trunk closed angry

Chanyeol: we can kill them when we get back if you want

You: let's just hurry up and go

You got in the car since it was so full you were forced to sit in the front. The ride was silent. you watched the scene as you drove at a slower pace. sport cars are much smoother but you never really saw a clear view just a blur this was nice to if only the window was down and you could feel the wind

Chanyeol: y/n

You: what

You made no effort to look at him

Chanyeol: why are you mad at me

You rolled your eyes. Can he be anymore clueless.

You: are you gonna do this now

he stopped the car

You: we are already behind why are you stopping

Chanyeol: your mad

You: are you gonna hold me hostage until I talk to you? Cause we will be here for hours if that is the case. I am stubborn if you haven't noticed

Chanyeol: I have and i just want to know why you are mad

You rolled your eyes again

You: why do you care… rose said your cold and distant from everyone am i an exception

I yelled at him… I wasn't even angry

Chanyeol: I don't know

You looked at him and he was staring at you seriously. You were shocked.

You: the dead i was experimenting on he was a doctor i got killed…

Chanyeol: what

You: we were gonna take out jinyoung… but jinyoung found out… and killed the leader

Chanyeol: and you feel as if it was your fault

You: it was my fault

Chanyeol: it's not like you told him he was the leader right

You: worse way worse I was the leader and I let him take the fall for me

it got quiet

You: I got all the doctors and nurses ready to kill him. And while we were planning he walked in with a gun… he shot a few innocent people… and he said he would kill more innocent people if the leader didn't step forward. He did for me saying he had no one to rely on him… but I did… he got me through so much before and when the ER first went to shit… I was there almost dead. He got me out… he shared his rations when we started them… and he gave his life for me. And he died thinking he didn't matter to me. If only I took him seriously when he stayed late after his shift with me or when I lost a patient how he would comfort me. He got me through so much and he was just gone

You wiped the tears away looking out the window

You: I have never known love but he was the only person I ever cared for more than the doctor patient relationship… so if that is love then maybe

You: those who think they have no one delude themselves and those who care about them are left a mess cause they got themselves killed because no one cares about you. I hate that you have no care for your life and when you die those who love you are left with this hole they can't fill a hole that may never be filled. How do you expect them to feel? Rose and Baekhyun cause I could tell right away they love you. They look up to you. How do you think they will feel if one day you said you got this but never comeback or they have to watch you get a bit see the process of the transformation? I didn't know the patients that came in after being infected but i still felt the pain of losing them so it would be 10X stronger than that to them.

He didn't say anything you took a deep breath

He started the car up again and made his way. The car filled with silence but different from before more awkward soon a building with huge wall came into view

You looked at him and then the place. The gates opened and he pulled in. immediately and a team of people were taking things out of the car. I could see rose and baekhyun waiting for us

Chanyeol: follow me we have to get you processed

He left the car. Wiping your face one last time and got out following behind him. rose took one look at you

Rose: yah park chanyeol what the hell did you do to her

She yelled at her.

You: calm down rose

Rose: look at you your a mess

You: i am fine really

Rose: uh no not gonna do

She yelled even louder. You looked around to see if someone was gonna stop her. But not even baekhyun looked bothered. So you took a step back next to him.

You: are you gonna do something

Baekhyun: he makes her angry a lot so you just have to let her get it out.

You: so it happens a lot

Baekhyun: exactly

You: she doesn't seem like the type to yell

Baekhyun: when she is protecting someone she is dangerous… you are seeing her mama bear… she feels you are family now congratulations...you should have seen her tear the dead apart when lisa was in danger

You: what about you when we left you still hated me

Baekhyun: not hate… I was scared for rose her being out

You: she hasn't been outside the doors

I watched Rose continued to yell… chanyeol just sat there taking it until someone walked in and then he tried to stop her

?: I thought I heard you rose which means you are all back

She stopped

She shook her head as the man looked over at us

?: who is this

He sounded angry as he looked at you. Causing you to straighten up and avoid his gaze

Chanyeol: sir this is y/n i was taking her to get processed

?: ah you think she should be processed do you

Chanyeol: she was the only doctor left at the hospital… she helped us get more rations of medicine, food, and supplies… that qualifies her don't you think

The man looked at the three cars being unloaded. Qualified does this mean they don't just accept people they have to fit a certain criteria. Meaning if i didn't they would have left me behind. What kind of place is this, what kind of people do that.

?: I see well then we are lucky to have her… assuming she was with you the whole time chanyeol she can skip medical and you both come straight to my office

Chanyeol opened his eyes wide and looked at you

?: it's the last step and i assume you are taking responsibility for bringing this one back unless i am wrong

Rose: you called dibs she is all on you… baekhyun let's get you to medical

He began walking away. Chanyeol took one look at you and started walking we got into an office it was smaller than I thought it would for the man in charge

I sat down and looked at chanyeol who seemed like he would rather be anywhere than here

?: My name is Kim JunMyeon but everyone calls me Suho so you may as well…

Suho meaning protector or leader narcissist much

Suho: what's your name

They seemed tense like there was some unspoken thing between them.

He looked at you

Suho: how long have you been a doctor

You: 3 years resident and 3 on staff

Suho: you look so young yet you have 6 years. How old are you

You: 25 my birthday passed sometime since the world went to hell

Suho: you started before you were out of highschool how

You: I come from a tiny town. I started volunteering and then was added to the staff when I turned 19. That hospital put me through medical school while I still worked and then I went to the hospital we just came from. I worked there for my 3 years on staff.

Suho: We could really use you as medical staff then. You have so much experience. I saw you also brought a lot of medical supplies and other supplies as well. I have total faith in you.

You: while i still have your faith i would like to help lisa and the rest in your medical as soon as possible

Suho: you know about lisa

He looked at Chanyeol and you felt the air thicken. Did I just cross someline. Why does he assume it was chanyeol who did it anyway

Chanyeol: Rose told her so it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Suho: Well, Rose probably didn't tell her everything. Y/n you see we run on generators and keeping her on breathing generators takes a lot of our resources that we can no longer supply so as hard as that is for me she can no longer be kept on them

You: That is why I am gonna help take her off of them without killing her.

Suho: it has been weeks since the incident do you really believe you have the capabilities to bring someone back from the brink of death

You: I do cause as a doctor no patient is a lost cause as long as their heart still beats and their brain functions as normal. I want to see her

Suho: You have so much confidence you almost make me hopeful again. But you will have to finish being processed and then have a job assignment before you can see her

You: i'm a doctor i'm pretty sure we know my job assignment already no idiot would put me anywhere else. And I only came to see Lisa so all that will either have to wait or you can hurry up cause I am gonna see her today.

Chanyeol snorted i looked at him and he went silent

Suho: are you so sure about that

You: I have stared death in the face and came back. Nothing you do can scare me. So unless you are gonna kick me out I am seeing her today. I wouldnt fight me on this so hurry this along I have work to do

It felt good saying that. I have a purpose again. I looked at chanyeol and he was smiling. The leader looked angry but didn't say anything about that matter. He started off asking me a bunch of questions about me before the dead and what I have been doing since. I was hesitant to tell him about Jinyoung and when I looked at Chanyeol he shook his head so I left out the killings and the dead behind the doors… I left out most of what happened in the hospital the 6 months

Suho: okay well i will speak to baekhyun and rose tomorrow and see if their stories match

I looked at chanyeol and he nodded his head does he have a plan cause baekhyun hates me and is still suspicious of me he will spill everything to suho and i will be kicked out before i can even try to save lisa

Suho: for now everything checks out. But we do have a problem

Chanyeol: you said she checks out what could be the problem

Suho: we went through a rearrange after you left to accommodate for the fire damages and as I'm looking at are room lists we don't have any empty available rooms for her

He smiled like he had won something. So this means I get turned away or what

Chanyeol: then we can have a room of three

Suho: we are at max capacity and i don't think anyone would be comfortable rooming with her you know how they are with new people

You: I could stay in medical then

They looked at me

You: it wouldn't be that different from the hospital we had rooms we stayed at there. It would put me closer to the patients incase of an emergency

It would actually be smart now that i think about it

Suho: every room in medical is full would you like to tell a patient that they are getting kicked out to make room for you

You: i could room with one until there is an opening

Suho: you would just get in the way of how we having it ran now

You: or I can help make better changes to how things are being ran

Suho: are you saying i don't know how to run my own compound

You: no I am saying that i am from medical i have worked in hospitals all my life i have a better idea at how they should be run. No disrespect to you i am sure everything you have done so far has helped your people i am just saying i could help them even more

Suho: i will review that with the head staff of medical for now that is off the table

He looked less than apologetic. I was regretting leaving the hospital at this point. It went silent for a couple of minutes. What does he suggest i do then

Chanyeol: I have an empty bed in my room she can have

I looked at him. He seemed like he had contemplated it for a bit before opening his mouth

Suho: I know you don't have much care for the rules but even you know that it is forbidden for males and females to live in the same room

At least he had some sense to have that rule. But we are all adults why treat us like kids

Chanyeol: you let rose and baekhyun sleep in the same room

Suho: special exceptions to those who are married

Chanyeol: they are not married they are just dating

Suho: of course that was a special exception lisa was moved to medical and we needed extra space after the accident

Chanyeol: they weren't even dating at that time baekhyun just had a crush on her. You could say it's cause you forced them in the same room that they got together. This whole case goes against a few of your rules.

Suho: yes but everyone understood why it was needed

Chanyeol: Rose didn't, she hated the idea of staying with him. You basically threatened Lisa's life for her to go

Chanyeol was dead set. These two have a past and something definitely went on to cause them to be like this.

Chanyeol: she should be an exception

He used that word exception. I am finding new ways to hate english now that word just gets under my skin no one should be above the rules.

Chanyeol: What I mean is she needs a room. She can't stay with other girls, she can't stay in medical this is the best suggestion

You: or baekhyun could go stay with you and i could bunk with rose

They looked at me

Chanyeol: you want to be the one to tell baekhyun that he has to move out his room so you could stay there

Suho: he would have no choice. It a good idea y/n

Chanyeol: okay go tell him suho

Suho: what

Chanyeol: it's your rules to enforce so you will be the one to tell him. I am sure he and rose will be happy to hear that especially after the scares he went through thinking she was dead during the breach

It seems the breach is the cause of everyone's problems. And just might be my problem even though i wasn't here

Suho: for now I have no choice y/n you will be staying with chanyeol

He could back down like that.

Suho: but as soon as there is an opening

Chanyeol: I'm sure we will both be happy to not share a room by then

He looked at me and I glared at him. What is that supposed to mean? He would be lucky to stay in a room with someone as great as me

Suho: I guess you can take her to the room and y/n report here tomorrow so we can officially start your work assignment and ration card

Chanyeol stood up pulling you out of the room.

You: chanyeol

Chanyeol: wait until we are alone

You: but i want to see lisa first

Chanyeol: quiet

He walked in silence… we took lots of stairs up almost as much as at the hospital… he pulled out a key and unlocked a room at the very end of the hall. He turned on the lights

Chanyeol: it is not much… we can get you a pillow and blanket after dinner… if you need anything else you can ask Rose or me. Since you haven't gotten your rations points or card you can borrow from us. Just us no one else

I looked at him

You: why

Chanyeol: just cause we all survived doesn't make us good people. No good person survived this mess. We have all done something to get here. So don't drop your guard around anyone, they will take advantage of that.

You: does that mean i should keep my guard up around you too

You were half joking but when you looked at him and saw how serious he was your heart quickened

You: and why is that

You: have been for 25 years thank for noticing

Chanyeol: what I mean is you are a girl in a boys room far from the population.

You: And whose fault is that. You could have pushed for me to stay in medical or when i gave the idea to switch with baekhyun you forced suho to agree somehow that it was a bad idea when he was for it. You manipulated him so this would happen you know

Chanyeol: it's best to keep you close

You: why is that. You want to keep me close but know your doing this whole speech to scare me away. What are you trying to do.

He went silent. why cant he make up his mind. does he hate me or does he approve of me being here. his mood swings are giving me whipflash

You: you said no good people survived

Chanyeol: I was wrong, there are a few roses, Lisa, you. And I have seen what this place does to those good. It twists them until you can no longer see who they are even more. I don't want that for you. I want you to stay that good person who risked their life for a girl she didn't even know. That just argued with a man that can kick her out for a patient's health. The person who only cares about others. Here that is a weakness that they will use.

You: so it's best to keep me close to keep from others hurt me but to keep and arms distance away from you. Don't you think that will

You looked away

Chanyeol: I am watching out for you. People here aren't evil, you're right but they do hate me and the people in charge and I don't want anything to happen to you because of that.

You: you act like I have a target on my back now

Chanyeol: you do so just listen to my warning rose is the only person you can trust. But i will be here to help you if you need

You: what about baekhyun

He looked at me

You: never mind I don't want to have the same talk like I am 5… take me to lisa

Chanyeol: you haven't slept since we met you should rest take a shower

A shower sounds so good and i still smell i know that but

You: every second Lisa is on those machines is another that she may not come back… I need to see her

I looked him in his eye

Chanyeol: stubborn

You: requirement to be a doctor
