Chanyeol: follow me

He walked me out the room before you could say anything. We walked all the way down the stairs and to what I assume to medical or what they were using as medical. It was really a long hallway and rooms branching off it with beds of sick people. It seemed like a war zone.

You: so who is in charge of here chanyeol.

He looked around and then yelled

Chanyeol: Jisoo

It startled you. You glared at him at him as he looked at you apologetic. Then a girl popped her head out of a room. She seemd surprised but happy as she walked to us

Jisoo: what a surprise to see you here chanyeol. What can i do for you

She looked at him and then smiled

Chanyeol: this is y/n she wanted to talk to you

She then looked at you

Jisoo: this is the doctor newbie that skipped medical. It's nice to meet you doctor Lee. My name is jisoo…

you: you can call me Y/n

Jisoo: well y/n I had nothing to do with medicine before this but I have been doing what I can. It's gonna be a lot better now that we have someone who knows what they are doing here

you: I hope so really

jisoo: it will be I just know it. I can't wait for it and I hope to learn all that I can from you. You know more the merrier.

Chanyeol cleared his throat

Chanyeol: show her to lisa will you.

Jisoo: cant you do it

chanyeol: i have something to do

jisoo: oh really

I looked from chanyeol to jisoo like I was missing a joke.

chanyeol: i have things to do like I said. I will be back y/n when I am done

I nodded my head not really caring if he comes back. I stood next to Jisoo watching him walk away

you: does he do that often

Jisoo: more than you could know

She started walking away I folllowed her to the very back room. When we entered Rose and Baekhyun were next to a bed speaking. When they noticed your presents they sat up.

Rose: y/n your here we weren't expecting you until tomorrow

You: I needed to see the patient right away.

Rose: but still how processing takes hours

you: I skipped a few procedures in the process

They all looked shocked

Jisoo: suho must not have been happy about that

You: he had more things to worry about than fighting me on something so insignificant.

Baekhyun: I have never seen him back down no matter what is on his plate

you: I think he sensed he wasnt gonna get anywhere. I was pretty persistnent and wasnt gonna back down.

Baekhyun: stubborn you mean

Rose: You two tag teamed him. He knew there was no winning against chanyeol ever and if he was backing you then hell

She laughed.

Baekhyun: speaking of chanyeol where is he

Me and Jisoo looked at eachother

You: he had uh something to do

Baekhyun: he ditched you

you looked at him shocked

You: yeah pretty much

Rose: he probably went back to give suho a harder time dont worry about it

Jisoo: he better not have. I am tired of suho having an attitude because of chanyeol.

Baekhyun: Chanyeol does what he wants.

Jisoo: still he is gonna put chanyeol in medical one of these days.

Rose: calm down your giving y/n all the wrong opinions of chanyeol. He left because he hates medical.

I look at all of them

You: hates medical

Baekhyun: he hates the sight to needles

Rose: blood

Jisoo: sick people

Baekhyun: anything to do with hospitals. I think before this he skipped all the yearly physicals

Rose: saying he has always been to healthy

Yet another side I am getting to see that I dont like. Why is this man so complex and bull headed? One minute he is defending me while laughing and smiling the next he is yelling at me. It just makes me so angry

Rose: y/n your face is frowning so deep. Does that make you mad that he hates the one thing you live for. Your main identity.

You: what no that is childish. why would I care what he like or does not like

She smiled at you as you studdered

You: let's get back to the real reason why I am here Lisa.

We all turn to her.

You: so what type of test have you run on her

Jisoo: tests

She looked scared almost

you: you havent run any tests

Jisoo: we don't have the equipment or the power...

You: have you been checking her vitals

Jisoo: not per say

She looked away.

You: what have you been doing exactly

Rose: watching her and making sure she doesn't turn

She looked at me

Jisoo: I can't do anything I don't even know where to start and all the books we have don't cover what to do is a person faints because smoke inhalation. And there is so many others in medical that need my help

She studdered on. She is right if she can't help one patient its better that she helped everyone. I can't get mad for something any good doctor would do even if it is basic.

You: you did good with the breathing tube and the IV bag.

she nodded and smiled

you: lets just see what I can do

I bent to ear level with lisa and spoke in a gentle calm steady voice doctors have with patients whose condition isn't optimal to keep them calm.

You: hello lalisa I am here to help you. I hope you don't mind if I call you lisa. My name is Dr. Lee when you wake up you can call me y/n. I heard that you are in this condition because you saved quite a few people. And I think you are very brave, risking your life. you're a hero in my eyes. For that you deserve the best care I can give. It will require my full attention until I see to it you are fully recovered

Jisoo: what do you mean your full attention what about everyone else

I put my hand up to stop her yelling she needs to be surrounded by positive energy.

You: How about we get started hmm.

You smile at her. She may not see it but I know she can feel it.

You: First we will be checking your vitals and then run a test. I hope you don't mind. It will be a lot of touching. I know a few patients don't like to be touched so bare with me if you're one of them okay.

I put my hand on her forehead and waited

You: you seem very warm maybe 101.6 its high to be expected so you have nothing to worry about. I'm gonna get some medicine later to bring it down. Let's move on checking your heart rate

I put my finger on her wrist and counted the beats as the clock counted a minute

You: 60 beats that's very good you're doing good.

60 beats is on the low side I looked at jisoo. They waited holding their breaths

You: when was the last time this machine was turned off

All of them opened their eyes wide. The thought of turning it off could kill her and they wouldn't risk it

Jisoo: she has been on it since we have found her

You: we need to turn it off

Rose: what she can't breath without them

You: I know that but I have to see her lung condition which requires the machine to be off and the tubes out. You don't have to stay and watched but if you do it has to be silent

Rose went quiet. Her choice

You: jisoo I need you to turn it off when I say. Baekhyun watch the clock tell me when each minute passes from when the switch is flipped if you can't get exactly get it before not after.

Everyone got in positions I took a deep breath and watched as the second hane hit 12

You: now

She turned it off and Rose gasped. I pulled out the tubing slowly not to damage anything. I began to check her airways… no air was going in or out

Baekhyun: minute

I watched for any sign

Baekhyun: two minutes

Rise damn it

Baekhyun: three

You: starting CPR

I jumped on the bed and began pressing on her chest

Rose: what do you need me to do

You: when I say pinch her nose tilt her forehead back with your palm and breath into her twice

I kept pumping

You: now

I stopped and she gave her mouth to mouth respiration… I started pumping again.

You: now

Baekhyun: 4 minutes

We kept at it… I felt a heartbeat so I stopped. I looked for a sign of breathing… slowly the chest moved

Rose: is she

You: shush

I felt her chest it was shallow

You: start mouth to mouth again. 2 breaths give it 10 seconds and then 2 more until I say stop

She continued. I looked around the room in the cabinets pulling out nothing useful

Jisoo: what do you need

You: we brought in medicine I need you to find me the long term bronchodilator, steroids, antibiotics, and the inhale cortisone

Jisoo: I don't have a clue what those look like

Rose: I do I will be back someone take over for me

She ran out of the room… I started mouth to mouth. As soon as she came back I spared no time and began making a cocktail with it

Jisoo: is that stuff safe to be mixed like that

Baekhyun: 7 minutes

I looked at lisa

You: we will see

I checked for a vein. They were all to small and hard to find but when I did I began to inject it. I stepped back and waited she began shaking.

Rose: is this natural. what do we do

you: step back

I pushed her over and black foam began pouring out of her mouth.

Rose: is this a good thing

You: wait for it

The shaking began stopping. The room was silent… I checked her heart rate. It was above normal but that was fine… she was breathing easier. I checked her pupils they were normal so I put her back down

You: she should be fine but I would like to perform a WLL to clean out her lungs as soon as she wakes. It a saline solution I put in the lungs

Jisoo: won't she drown

You: One lung at a time. While she is on oxygen and a little at a time. For now this is all I can do

I looked at Rose she looked as if she was gonna cry.

You: for now she is breathing on her own… so you don't have to worry about her lungs shutting down.

She hugged Baekhyun.

Baekhyun: when will she wake

You: could be a day or a week; it depends on how bad she wants to come back. Someone will have to sit with her until she does wake up to make sure her lungs don't fail

Rose: thank you so much y/n. I owe you everything

She hugged me. The feeling of helping someone again made me feel good. She let go

You: I will start cleaning the room. Clean sheets will lead to faster healing

Rose: really

you: not directly. Its like laughter is the best medicine in it of its self is something everyone can do but the feeling it gives you. The chemicals it releases into the body works just the same

They nodded like they understodd.

Jisoo: i will get them so she could be up and about in no time.

We began cleaning up and replacing the sheets. Once clean and assured I left the room leaning against the wall. Tears falling from my face slowly

Jisoo: are you okay

You: yeah I'm good

Jisoo: your crying

You: I was just thinking about the last time I was operating or giving CPR

You blinked away the tears. she placed her hand on your shoulder

Jisoo: you lost the person

You: yeah that's the hardest thing for a doctor losing a patient… I'm sure you know

She sat next to you

Jisoo: we lost a lot during the fire… and there was nothing I could do but watch and comfort the people as they split with those they lost.

You held her hand

You: I am gonna teach you how to save them so you won't have to feel as helpless.

She smiled at me.

Chanyeol pov

I finished my report and walked to go get y/n… walking down the hall of medicine my skin crawled… I walked past many rooms and into lisa

Chanyeol: where is y/n

They looked to the corner of the room. y/n was curled up in the chairs

Chanyeol: she fell asleep why didn't any of you come get me

I went to check on her

Rose: why are you worried? She was tired so we let her sleep. She deserves it.

Baekhyun: besides you were busy

They looked at me and smiled. But I ignored them

Chanyeol: she feels warm

Baekhyun: Her last 24 hours has been filled with excitement. I think her system is in shock. I'm sure she will be able to sleep it off chanyeol.

Chanyeol: you actually have something nice to say about her what happened to you

Baekhyun: She just saved Lisa. So she is now on my list of those I would protect

He kissed rose on the cheek and she almost started crying

Chanyeol: what do you mean saved lisa

Rose: she got Lisa off the machines… and she is sure that lisa will wake up soon in the next week.

She smiled again. I put my hand on my heart looking from lisa to y/n

Chanyeol: she is amazing

Rose: she really is…

Chanyeol: congratulations then… I knew she would after she acted snotty to suho

Rose: snotty never heard you use that word

I rolled my eyes

Baekhyun: so how was she acting... snotty

He laughed

chanyeol: this is why I dont like talking to you

baekhyun: okay... okay I am sorry. So what did she do

Chanyeol: she basically said screw you and your system I am gonna do what I need to save lisa. Get out of my way or get moved. She will change the way medicine is run for the patients around here.

Rose: Suho is gonna have another one on his hands. Poor Jisoo.

I smiled at the thought. Here being just like me give suho ulcers.

Chanyeol: she said it in a way that you could not say no. I have never talked to him like that and I have never seen him so exasperated.

Rose: suho always has something to say back i don't believe it.

Chanyeol: He did try getting back at her after you know the way he does if he can't have his way there he will have his way somewhere else. But it didn't really bother her.

Baekhyun: she is gonna cause so much trouble

Rose: way more than chanyeol I already see it

they laughed with eachother

Chanyeol: I can't wait. Things need to change around here.

Rose: at the price of suho's blood pressure let's hope not all at once. Give him time to adjust to the new power duo

We laughed.

Chanyeol: that reminds me we all need to talk about what happened at the hospital

Your pov

You wake up tired everything in your body ached. You looked around the room was empty. But was also chanyeol's room.

you: I did not fall asleep here.

This means someone carried me back. Was it chanyeol that brought me back and I slept through it. How I am like the lightest sleeper ever unless I am really tired exhausted actually. When that happens I snore did I snore. Mark has told me often my snoring is loud and out of control. It would be so embarrassing if I did. I looked around again and there was a note on the other bed.

Note: y/n here are some clothes from Rose she said they may be a little big you can change after showering. I left my rations card so you can eat don't spend to much we still have to get your bedding.

I looked at the empty bed. That means I slept in chanyeol's bed. My heartbeat fastened at that thought. He carried me up here, he had to give me his bed, and I snored.

you: how much worse can I get

He gave me his ration card after I gave him an attitude and yelled at him. Who just does that. Could I be anymore of an ass myself.

Note: I had to work sorry I can't take you if you need help just ask someone to take you to rose or baekhyun

So you trust baekhyun now to make up your mind dude. No that is my pessimisn again. Lets just do what he said. I picked up the clothes and walked into the bathroom. It wasn't too big and looks like it was recently built. I began taking off my clothes. When I stepped in the shower I found another note

Note: go easy on the hot water the generators can overload and the rest of the people won't have any.

Hot water they have hot water. I hurried and turned it on. I let it wash over me the feeling of heaven. I felt all my exhaustion wash away as the water hit my skin. I lost myself in the water for a seccond. I didn't want to use it all so despite my feelings of wanting to just disappear in the feeling I stepped out after washing my hair.

you: I didn't think I would missing showering so much let alone hot water.

I looked around the room and found a brush on the counter and picked it up

You: almost a year and you let yourself look like shit.

I looked into the mirror as I brushed my hair trying to style it but it was very rough and brittle.

you: what am I suppossed to do with this

I looked around again and found a pair of scissors

You: I hated long hair. This is better

You began to clip your hair. Slowly each piece fell until you were satisfied with the length. You stared at the finished piece amazed.

You: Mark loved it when I showed my neck. He said it was one of my charming points. Then again he did say I had a lot of charming points. He would love the way I look.

You turned from the mirror and changed. Grabbing the ration card I left the room. You walked down the long flight of stairs. You were met with many eyes, all around.

You: Be cool

They must not get new people that often. You smiled at anyone you made eye contact with and started walking but you got a little turned around. I know the way to medical I'm pretty sure. If I go there I am sure Jisoo could help me or Rose could be there. Probably not this early. You stopped and looked around thinking what to do when a boy walked up to you. Not a boy but a man a hot hot man.
