DxD | Child of Ira

Reincarnation was a treasured dream for many people and I had been lucky enough to receive it. I was granted a wonderful family, plenty of wealth, and the blessing of magic but everything came at a cost. In this case, it was the intrinsic danger of the world where gods roamed freely and myth was merely a forgotten truth. I had been reborn in Highschool DxD. **** If you enjoy my work you can support me on patre*on.com/TrapOverlord for up to 12 chapters ahead.

Chapter 100

When the dust settled, nothing remained. The underworld was stripped bare and only the dimensional gap remained. One would expect that this would mark the end of it but somehow even the gap seemed to be shaking from the attack.

Each second dozens of reverberations would shake the battlefield as though they were standing atop a shivering giant. Despite that, neither Tobio nor Dulio could find it in themselves to give a single damn about it.

"Holy shit! He can use Truth Idea!?" Holding up the remnants of a shattered scythe with blood soaking his fur almost as much as the torrent of sweat emerging from his pores Tobio was the first to shout in disbelief.

"That's impossible! Not even Hades should be able to conquer God's will!" Dulio on the other hand took a much more devout point of view. He wasn't foolish enough to believe that God was undefeatable but forcing his spirit into submission? That shouldn't be possible!

"Think about that later, we've got to stop him before he does it again." Speaking solemnly the canine form of Tobio wore a solemn frown. Truth Idea was the ultimate attack of the True Longinus, a double edged sword whose blade tilted whatever way God pleased.

The Truth Idea was akin to the Juggernaut Drive for a Heavenly Dragon, an uncontrollable and extremely draining attack. Usually, it would only be possible to use it once per day or less for a pure human like Cao Cao but that was hardly the case right now.

With his complete disregard for his own safety, the burning of his soul, and the uncaring attitude that resulted in the practically assured death of George it was safe to say there was little stopping him from doing it again.

Forcefully breaking free from his doubts Dulio swung his hand horizontally, a wave of sheer holy light bursting forth. In normal cases, even the holy power of a Joker of one of the Four Seraphim wouldn't be enough to harm the owner of the True Longinus but, almost as if opposing that, Cao Cao burned.

His already pitch black limbs darkened, his eyes exploding into millions of fragments of burnt flesh before even that burned, and black blood leaked from all over his body. Cao Cao wasn't a human anymore.

Taking advantage of the chance Tobio rose from Cao Cao's prominent shadow, his scythe rising up to cut the accursed body in two. But, rather than the clash of flesh and shadows, Tobio was met with air alone.

A golden ball of energy pierced the spot where he once stood, the blast crashing into a yin and yang symbol and dispersing harmlessly. The energy with that blow was more than enough to destroy a mountain and fatally damage Tobio and yet it had been blocked so effortlessly.

"So this is what happened to my student." A familiar yet unfamiliar voice sounded out from behind Tobio, the tightness of his shirt fading away as the hand that held him by the scruff of his neck let go.

"Sorry! I wasn't fast enough!" Hurriedly returning to their side Dulio didn't look great either. Even ignoring his wounds from the Truth Idea he was in bad shape, the prominent chunk removed from his upper arm was the worst of them all.

"Don't be. I'm actually quite impressed that you managed to block my student for so long." Yan Qing the Technique God declared with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. If there was anyone invested in this battle, it was him. He had even gone sober for weeks in preparation.

"We appreciate the help but—!" Dulio began speaking before a large blast of holy power was sent their way. Hurriedly jumping out of the way he along with the Slash/Dog watched as the Technique God merely slowly swung his arm and the attack vanished.

"I'll make you both an opportunity. Make sure to use it." The voice of Yan Qing was darker than the two had ever heard the happy go lucky drunkard's voice and it was horrifying. Ominous energy spreading from him drove, its mere presence trying to force them to the ground.

For a moment, the battle was still as the undead Cao Cao tried to understand what was happening or rather Hades was. Part of Hades' mind was always in this battle, it was why Cao Cao could use Truth Idea so easily and why George had been killed so easily on their end.

It was one thing to command two individuals but it was another to puppeteer them. Worst still, he was in a battle of his own as well. If there was one silver lining to this battle though, it was that Yan Qing could not kill Cao Cao. As a brawler, an undead like Cao Cao was an impossible to defeat foe.

Shooting forward, Yan Qing instantly showed why he was called the Technique God. His movements were as fast as Hermes, his steps as soft as Artemis, and the blow that came before Cao Cao could react was as powerful as Ares.

Flying back hundreds of kilometers, Cao Cao's body was ravaged by the dimensional gap to no avail. His chest was caved in, his heart obliterated, and his lungs nothing more than a decoration but to an undead it was unimportant. There was no way for a brawler to win.

Abruptly appearing above the undead Dulio held a spear of dozens of elements while below the scythe the Slash/Dog was rapidly approaching. Forcing his spear to extend and bend he struck both out of the sky, both mirroring his flight from mere seconds before.

"Don't desecrate my student skeleton." The cold voice of the Technique God entered Hades' ears, a malicious presence making itself known as a large formation spread along the ground. It was around the size of a city and had an odd suction force that drew Cao Cao in.

Unable to resist Cao Cao was pulled inside like it was a black hole, his body condensing and contorting as though he was being forced into a box. Glowing emerald walls surrounded him as what seemed to be a small pagoda formed in Yan Qing's palm.

"I wish you well in the afterlife." Yan Qing prayed softly as he crushed the pagoda, emerald dust falling to the ground. Truth be told, he wasn't the one making the opportunity. It was Tobio and Dulio who created this opportunity for him.

However, that didn't matter. At long last, Cao Cao could rest.
