"We meet at last," Zai said. "Though I expected you'd look different than someone I've already beaten," she quipped, remembering the duel she'd had with Morlock that had nearly wrecked her.
"Do not mistake me for that child," the Master said. His hands rose and Zai dodged as qi in the form of lightning surged out towards her in a jagged line.
"Maybe you should stop using his tricks then," she taunted as she rose into a spinning dive.
As she was about to close, the Master brought all of his coffin shields flaring to life, one of them blocking her strike while the others added to the sudden surge of terror and pain that filled her senses.
A slight shift in the shield's position allowed the Master to strike her point-blank with lightning, and Zai cried out as she felt the disruptive force surge throughout her body.
But she had trained for this.
