Chapter 18: New Friend… (At Least its Not Deku First)

~Third POV~

As the two were walking down out from the marketplace Manami couldn't help but blush at the supposed teen that saved her from those thugs that she fell in love with at sight at how good-looking he was.

But she pushed those thoughts and emotions away as she didn't want to make a repeat of what happened to her in middle school thanks to her quirk <Love>.

<Love> is Manami's Quirk which allows her to bestow a power boost to the person whom she loves most by telling the recipient how much she loves them. The amount of power her loved one receives increases with the intensity of her love. Manami can only activate her Quirk once per day and the power boost will only last for a limited time.

When Manami was a younger girl, she professed her love to a different boy, telling him that she was completely smitten. She seems to fall in love quite freely and when she does, quite deeply, however, she was then rejected then subjugate to be taunted and mocked because of that rejection as a creeper and stalker.

Pained by the rejection and mockery, Manami stopped believing in anything and fell into a depressive state.

She became a reclusive adolescent with no goals or aspirations, gluing herself to her computer all day long, even contemplating suicide.

However, even someone like her needs to leave to buy food that was when she was mocked but was saved by Jason arriving at the 'lucky' time.

As such the both of them are leaving the area of the supermarket with Manami being shy since it has been a while talking to someone as she spoke, "So, uh… how what's your name stranger the name is Manami Aiba?"

Looking at her in shock Jason sighs out his beath in embarrassment as he responded to the small girl, "Oh! Sorry about that I haven't introduced myself, haven't I? The name is Jason Borne it's a pleasure to meet you Manami but please call me Jason."

Manami could only blush at his response as she asked Jason some questions, "Oh ok then Jason what are you doing in Japan exactly?"

Smirking at that he responded with a cheeky grin plastered on his face as he spoke, "Oh nothing much just sightseeing Japan is all. I come from America so I thought I would travel around Japan to see how different it was to the good old USA."

Hearing this Manami is actually surprised at this and was slightly impressed as she spoke getting more comfortable in asking her questions to him, "Really! I mean you speak so fluently in Japanese I thought you were a native here."

Both kept on walking as they continued to talk as Jason shyly responds to her with a small lie, "Yeah, I have to at least speak your language and studied a lot to understand. Although I'm new around here I hope you don't me bothering you today."

Manami quickly denied that as she shakes her head as she spoke out to him, "No not at all I mean it's not every day that someone helps me out. But why come here to Japan anyway?"

Jason just shrugs his shoulders as he spoke another lie to make up a cover, "Honestly, I wanted to see the Hero All Might here at least once in my stay in Japan. I mean that man was in America for a while partner with mister David Shield so why not come here and sightsee while I'm at it?"

Nodding her head at that she took the lie without much suspicion as they both continued on their way to Jason apartment building number 2.

As they arrive at their destination Manami tried to be direct and asked Jason for his age and number, "Uh… if you don't me asking Jason-san you look very young for someone to believing alone and uh… I was wondering if you might need help sightseeing in Japan so…"

Smirking at this no way was Jason was going to lose a friend with denial, so he brought up his bracelet as he spoke to Manami downward as she barely reaches his waist, "Sure I don't mind having a guide show me around Japan. How about we exchange numbers then if that's the case? Oh, also my age is 15 years old if you were wondering probably turning 16 this year."

Manami blushed at that Jason giving him his number as she was surprised to hear his age but shakes her head as she hands him her number, "Ok then this is my number XXX-XXXX and I hope you don't mind I meet at your place, right?"

Nodding at this Jason responds in a happy motion as he left to his apartment room as Manami went back to her home.

But deep inside her mind, she was blushing as she thought to herself in an embarrassed tone, 'Oh my God!! I got a boy's number! Although a bit young for me since I'm 19 years old but in Japan, the age for consent is 13 but his 15 so that should be fine right?'

Shaking her once more to clear her thoughts she calms herself down as she manages her emotions as she thinks to herself, 'No Manami Aiba you have to calm your quirk's urges! I know he looks good-looking and handsome, but I can't let him be disgusted or creeped out of me! I have a chance… a chance…'

Manami was dealing with her issues Jason finally arrived at his apartment room as he began to cook the food he got from the supermarket.

Just as he was busy cooking, he spoke to his Alter Ego inside his bracelet a command, "Alter Ego how long is going to take to find All Might's hair sample and the location of Neito?"

Hearing a response from his bracelet it began to speak as that is where Alter Ego resides inside the armor, "Notice… I have already found the base belonging to the Might Tower where the supposed All Might resides but is currently closed. Neito has already been found thanks to the doctor database of his previous patients. Any further action required sir?"

Jason didn't respond as he thought for a while till, he finally found the right answer to give to Alter Ego, "Hmm… in that case get the hair sample of All Might or a man known as Toshinori Yagi they are one of the same people make sure you have the opportunity at right time no need for people to be suspicious. Till you retrieve the hair sample spy on Neito for the foreseeable time being."

Alter Ego in the bracelet beep twice to confirm with Jason actions but didn't stop as Jason also gave another order in a serious tone, "While you're at it I request that you find out where to find the base of the Shie Hassaikai and give me the details plans of the building once of the drone armors find it."

Alter Ego answered in a robotic tone as it spoke out to Jason as he was bust cooking, "Very well sir, I'll be sure to find those Shie Hassaikai as you requested. Also, sir, the other quirks that you requested to find will take some time to obtain the hair samples."

Sighing at that he could only nod at that as Alter Ego went away controlling the small drones of armor as Jason talked to himself, "Sigh… at least I know that I'm starting somewhere in this world. Now comes the real issue of All for One finding out where his samples are. I highly doubt he's going to search for it since he can resupply his blood but that was also why I didn't take his power at least not right now."

Jason didn't want to waste the vial containing the quirk of <All for One> as he originally thought that he would drink it to gain its power was only wishful thinking that would happen even if Alter Ego confirmed it.

But if that were the case then Jason would need time to modify his body to be able to obtain the power down version of the quirk because of Nine's condition and method to obtain its power.

Nine donated his body to Kyudai Garaki of the League of Villains for experimentation so that he can become more powerful.

During the process, Nine was implanted with the DNA of All For One, and since his body was compatible with the latter's Quirk factor, he obtained the same power to steal Quirks from other people.

However, his variant was much weaker compared to the original user, as Nine was only capable of stealing eight other Quirks, and it's unclear whether he was capable of giving Quirks to others.

But that was when Jason had thought of another method of obtaining the <All for One> quirk without much damage to him or the time and that was for Neito quirk factor <Copy>.

<Copy> allows Neito to utilize a Quirk after coming into contact with its respective user.

Neito only requires touching as little as a few strands of hair from the target for his Quirk to take effect. After contact with a target is made, Neito gains full access to their Quirk, at least at a basic level; it's unknown if Neito is also capable of copying further improvements that one may achieve with their Quirk.

But what Jason remembered from that quirk was that it had the possibility to copying multiple Quirks at once is possible as well-meaning that his body will be able to adapt to any kind of quirk that is not mutant-based.

However, if Jason can copy the blood vial sample of <All for One> quirk it will open a lot of other possibilities.

<All for One> allows the user to steal the Quirks of other people and wield those stolen powers as their own. It also allows the user to redistribute stolen Quirks to someone else. The process of giving and taking away Quirks is done through touch.

A victim whose Quirk has been stolen becomes Quirkless and loses any abnormal features if the powers happened to be Mutant types.

Interestingly, even if the user holds Mutant-type Quirks, the subsequent features do not permanently manifest on the user's body, and they can instead summon the mutant features at will.

But more so is the fact that the <All for One> quirk can fuse other quirks into something else as it rarely happens, a Quirk granted by this ability can blend with the recipient's original Quirk, creating an entirely new power, as shown with One For All.

However, there are many weaknesses with the quirk as in that, over time, a large number of accumulated Quirks within All for One was becoming dangerous to the user himself.

While it seemed that All for One could allow the user to safely control any number of Quirks, there is a limit to how much the user can control without it adversely affecting them, like the Nomu.

Like how Kyudai went on to state that if the 'memory' (the amount of power of a Quirk) exceeds the hardware (the body of the Quirk user) then it will cause serious problems…

As Jason was cooking his food almost to near completion, he expressed a smile on his face as he spoke to himself, "But those weaknesses can only happen if the quirk factor of the body wasn't ready for it but with the quirk factor of <Copy> I should be able to get rid of the weakness so long as I don't overdo it."

Next, as soon as he grins it turns into a frown as he spoke the truth of his words, "Although there is no guarantee that it would work that way I envisioned. After all this, another type of power I'm dealing with here so there is never a guarantee what I get will be correct."

With that done with his dinner was ready as he began to get out the plastic plates from the supermarket as he looked at his bracelet watching anime from his world as he had time to copy some of the anime related from his world into his bracelet.

Although at the side of the hologram of his screen could be seen a list of quirks with checkboxes as they list the few quirks that Jason wants to get a hold of this world of MHA as he continues eating.

Taking a look at his list on his check box he reads every single one of them out loud for him to hear as he spoke, "Let's see from the list I need to get… All for One, One for All, Overclock, Flight, Cell Activation, Compress, Brainwashing, Creation, Double, Electrification, Foresight, Life Force, Overhaul, Rewind, Search, Size, Super Regeneration, Warp Gate, and Wave Motion."

Glancing at his choices he notices them be somewhat lacking as he talks to himself in an unsure tone, "Eh… let's see what kind of quirks I can even get from this first. While I haven't added the teacher's quirks it's because they live or have a backup in U.A. that's why I steer clear of them for the time being. Also getting the others would be difficult while the others are simple enough. Sigh… let's hope I can even get half of what this list of samples."

However, he grins as he smiles wryly as there was one quirk he wanted since the new chapter from the MHA came out, "But then again getting the 1 hero in America Stars and Stripes <New Order> would be great as well. Sigh... for now I should just try to get the quirks as needed in Japan for the time being."

With that comes to the end of the day for his first time being in the MHA world as he prepares for a whole new kind of trouble waiting for him.
