Wang Tong couldn’t wait to live his college life - girls, parties, and the dorm life - everything he had ever dreamed of. But, instead of a letter of admission to the college, he had received a ticket to the planet Norton and a contract with the Confederation as a space settler. Soon after his arrival, the Zerg overran the planet and obliterated its defenses in a matter of moments. What awaited Tong on Norton was more than just an unbearable environment - its gravity alone was five-times stronger than earth - there were also swarms of bugs, constant hunger, thirst, and desolation... Venture into the Tempest of The Battlefield, unlock the secrets within the mysterious space crystals, and meet the legendary Blade Warriors and the potent sword combat tactic: "Ultimate Tactics of the Blade: 256 Genome Nuclear Force". An honest and humble low-tier robot and a ghost with a mouth full of nonsense both teamed up with Wang Tong in a fight for survival against all odds.

Okay - so how do I say this nicely? This story sucks. Don't take me wrong - I mean, it's a good story with okay characters, but MAAAN, there's a LOT of inconsistencies and plot holes. I mean really - a ton of stuff where the author just changes tune on a whim. Just to give you a few examples; Early on in the story, the MC has a crush on the principal, and then suddenly the author mentions that the MC will take the principal on a date, but without the dialogue ever having taken place. Yes, this is just a benign example, but it gets worse later on, for example, in the latter end of the story, the author does away with the cultivation scheme that the reader is used to and suddenly introduces "levels". In my opinion, the author is a classic example of not having a clear structure of their world, history, and the characters in it. You will often find contradictory statements in chapter to chapter - and this is just one of many problems with the story. To be nice, the author does have nice character development and relationships. The MC doesn't just fall for the main love interest straight away but falls the friend, and through loss and hardships, realizes his feelings for the main girl - really nice, which is something that many other Chinese novels fail in. But this doesn't make up for what should be the concrete fundamentals of every story - CONSISTENCY! This story will definitely offer you a fresh take on a MC which isn't completely ignorant of his feeling. No face slapping or arrogant young masters at every turn with okay story progression. If you get hung up on details such as plot details and the author contradicting himself, then you should stay FAR away. Overall, I read up to chapter 500+ before skimming the rest of the chapters due to getting fed up with these points. The story end nice, however, as much as this story may portray itself as a single love interest, in the last 50 chapters, the MC suddenly gets himself a harem - also one of the things which will throw off a lot of its ******** readers. Final statement; it really feels like a story written by 2 or 3 different authors, with too many different cultivation methods, contradictory statements and views, vague/confusing races (e.g. Ivantians - which are apparently people who live on the Moon, and Kaedians (which I still don't who are or where they came from)). So yea, although, I'm generally forgiving in nature, this story just felt like a downright mess. It entertained me the first 100 chapters, but after that, I slowly got more and more fed up with it.

I decided to take a look at this after having read some of Skeleton Wizard's other works (Tempest of the Stellar War and Battle Frenzy). If you've read any of these other works, it's the same parallel set up with the main character's journey to becoming a legend, the loyal non human helper sidekick, an anonymous alternative identity, working toward making that ideal romance work, great friendships, and a splash of humor. Despite the similar themes, it's a worthy addition to the Tempest trilogy and a good read. Bear through the first few chapters as the world building and the terminology dump is a bit of a turn off but it quickly picks up. Also be aware that unlike Skeleton Wizard's other works, the Starcraft references are not subtle in this one. It's to the point they're actually playing a version of it in the school competitions in between killing Zerg haha. I do have to be critical of two things though. The editing is terrible. I don't mean to be rude, but it really is. Every chapter is riddled with grammatical errors and typos. Clearly better then MTL but it still makes reading unpleasant at times. There's even one chapter early on with editing notes left embedded in the text. They're still there despite being pointed out by readers in the comments and it being half a year later. The second thing would be the stability of the updates. As some other reviews have noted, the pace has dropped considerably and is erratic. I think if you hover over the release rate it's currently averaging 4 chapters a week vs. the scheduled 10 as of the time of this review. Granted, real life stuff happens, but it is something to take note of. I would definitely recommend reading this if you've read any of Skeleton Wizard's other works and can deal with the negatives I've mentioned.
