(A/N- I have a co-writer and editor now, say high to JB.)
Oriana had been hasty in her declaration, she knew that, but it still felt right. She would never admit to the fault, but she had been drifting away from the order for a long time. In the two weeks after the day of their spar and conversation, she had joined the duo in their training. Little comments Malekith had made from time to time had helped her immensely. She had learned that he had previous experience teaching and it showed. Somehow, he knew exactly how to help her in every situation.
She had began to genuinely look forward to their sessions, taking joy in learning new things again. But on the planet's surface, when her mind had been opened like that, something broke deep down. It was the nail in the coffin that the Jedi had failed her and her mind took that moment to remind her of every single piece of joy she had lost thanks to flawed teachings. Everything came up and she made a declaration, there was no going back now.
She walked out of her room and down the hall towards the gallery. Malekith had given her access when she had enjoyed it before, which only reminded her of how much she was coming to like the man. Pressing her palm against the pad, the door slid open.
She walked into the corner of the gallery, the section containing the beautiful mountain ranges. She looked into the art, falling into the serenity they offered. She went into a pseudo-medatative state, trying to organize her thoughts. Unknowingly, she stood there, staring, for hours. She was brought out of her thoughts by a voice.
"If you truly like the tapestry that much, we can put it in your room."
"Oh, I'm sure it's more expensive than what I earn in several years, I don't want that responsibility."
"I'd brush it off, but you are correct, that painting is worth the gdp of some planets. But let's not dwell on that. Have you decided to leave after putting some thought into it?"
"Yes. They were good to raise me but I can't stand for false teachings."
"Well, I'm certainly not going to complain. When will you officially 'pass in the badge'."
"After this tour. You can skip the other planets by the way, the Jedi won't use them. Just show me Tython."
"I can do that. I'll see you at dinner?"
"See you then.", she smiled at him as he left. Then she stared at the painting again. 'Wait, how expensive was it?'
