19 Joy

The three ship convoy jumped into the system. In the bridge of the leading ship a gasp was heard. Tython stood before the vessels, lush in its beauty and powerful in the force.

Oriana stared in awe at the planet in front of her. It felt as if her blood resonated with the very foundation of the world, calling her forth. She felt a true safety, like the planet missed her gravely.

She felt like a little girl, giddy to be home again after a long stay away.

"It's beautiful.", she said in a tone revealing her true emotions on the matter.

"It's the calling of the force. Tython wants you here."

"Why?"

"All life in the Galaxy produces an energy field, planet's have extremely large ones. Thanks to the force, the planets are living. Every planet monitors it's life, they grow their ecosystems to get stronger. Have you never realized how many planets in the Galaxy have sentient life? Most galaxies are lucky to have a single species capable of thought, let alone millions."

"Do....they feel?"

"Not like we do. Different things bring them joy or sorrow. Imagine an insect colony. You don't care if a bug dies. If there is disease, you might be the killer. You feel sad when the colony deteriorates. Planets are ancient and loving, but they do not think as we do."

"So they're neutral. They are balanced with light and dark."

"No"

"What?"

"The force is not light and dark, that is a rationalization. The light side is balance, whereas the dark side is chaos. You cannot have both."

"I thought you agreed more with the sith?"

"I agree with their philosophy, not their teachings. The Jedi are not what they claim to be and the sith were Jedi."

"What are they then?"

"The sith and Jedi alike are thieves. They steal from the force while claiming they bring balance. No, the Jedi are not bringers of balance.

Tell me, why are the sith ever allowed to rise?"

"Because they are master manipulaters, influencing societies and peoples down dark paths."

"Not originally. The sith are the Jedi with traded flaws. The Jedi are closed off, isolated, self destructive. The sith are outwardly destructive, Jealous, and manipulative. But their end goals are the same, eliminate all evil. The problem is, who decides what is evil?"

"..... People. People decide what is evil."

"So tell me, why are the sith so popular?"

"Because they have decided what their evils are, the Jedi are one of them."

"Yes. So what is this planet?"

"Beyond good and evil."(You're welcome, the one guy that gets the reference!)

"That is better than I could've put it."

"Tell me, what order would you make?"

"Druids. A group that understands that the universe is so much larger than themselves. I would make an order that understands chaos, while using balance. A group that loves and accepts their hate."

"You would make what the Jedi say they are, while improving it all the same."

"Yes."

"But what of the dark side, or this 'chaos'."

"It would be taught, but not to be used. I'd plan on using a drug philosophy to teach that. Show them they could have something, but show them the costs. Still, few would make it."

"You could start that you know, if you worked hard enough."

"I could, but why? The system in place will manage."

"For me."

That took Malekith by surprise," Wh-What do you mean?"

"Start with me and René. Help us help others. I know you aren't the type to run an academy, so let me do so."

"For you....okay. For you and René, I guess I could. It would have to be secret and there would be lots of troubles along the way?"

"I'll manage. So will René. So could you."

"I'll think about it, my dear lady."

"You're gonna have to work a bit harder for me to be that.", she said, effortlessly breaking the conversation with a smile.

"You think about it, I'm going to the hangar."
