Pokemon: Reborn as Ash! Kanto to Jhoto

I woke up slowly, to voices around me. I couldn't hear anything properly and I wondered why and what happened. Then like a switch I remembered the last thing that happened to me. I was in an accident, of all things to happen during the Covid pandemic I got involved in an accident. I scrunched up my face irritated at the stupidity of myself and the whole world in general before giving a yawn and falling asleep berating myself.

'Seriously girl seriously! You had to walk when the accident was about to happen and be hit by a truck. Like some dumb little shit!'

When I woke up a second time I was surrounded by blobs? Wait what? Don't tell me the accident affected my vision too. This sucks! I was picked up and that surprised me and I gave a shriek. Wha..... How was this possible? I could hear cooing and English? Yeah that's definitely English!

"He's very active!"

"Is that normal Doctor Hale?"

"Don't worry Delia! It just shows how healthy he is!"

"Congratulations on having a healthy son sis!"

"Congratulations Aunt Lia!"

"Thank you Rose and Red! I am happy you are here to share this with me!"

Someone became a new mom? Why are they next to my room though? Congratulations to you from me as well, too bad I'm too sleepy right now to say anything, maybe when I wake up again. Damn why am I so tired? Maybe it's those meds they are using and I am being picked up again. Wait..... That should be impossible, I am a grown ass woman and weigh 50 kg last I checked.

As our dear protagonist tried to look around properly their sight became clearer and saw people who were bigger than her around her smiling at her.

"He's active again!"

'He?'

"My! What a bright child!"

'Who are you talking about lady? It better not be me!'

"Hey baby cousin, you can call me big brother!"

'I'm a thirty year old woman kid.... Wait what happened to my voice.. And why are they so big. Oh! OH! MY! GOD! It's me they are talking to..... I am a kid... How?'

I did the only thing I could do cry loudly or rather my new body did. I just couldn't help myself and I cried more from the embarrassment of wailing.

"He must be hungry.", my new mother said before pushing something into my mouth.

I decided not to think about it and ate as I was feeling hungry a bit and once that was done, was burped. I started to feel sleepy again, why am I so tired, is this normal? Weird situation or not. Why truck sama? Why? I know I made fun of reincarnation cliches before but isn't this pushing it?

Red, "He fell asleep again. He looks cute sleeping."

Delia smiled tired, "That was the first time he cried."

Rose giggled, "Well sis, he is a baby so."

Doctor Hale, "Everything seems normal Ms Ketchum. You have a healthy baby boy and you yourself are recovering quite well from the child birth."

Delia, "That's good to know. When can we go home Doctor?"

Doctor Hale, "By the end of the week, I don't have a doubt."

Once the Doctor left the family, Red moved to the side of the bed where his new cousin was sleeping peacefully.

Rose, "So what have you decided on naming him Lia?"

Delia, "Well Rose, I was thinking of following our family tradition and naming him after a plant."

Rose, "Oh which one?"

Delia hummed, "I always loved the Ash tree so Ashton, Ashton Ketchum. Ash for short."

Red grinned, "That's a pretty cool name!"

Delia smiled at her nephew, "Thank you dear! Welcome to this world my son, Ash!"

The next time I came around everything was a blur and I was in denial. Reincarnation happens in stories and novels not real life, although this no doubt meant I died in my original world and got placed here. I didn't know how to feel about that, I know I died and I have already cried a lot, so how do I react now. I feel so confused right now. Also my new family, angels all of them. My mom, my aunt and my cousin, angels from heaven I tell ya. They are always making sure I was okay or my mom was okay. I think I had a family before, I know I did but I can't remember them for the love of me. I was not sure what to do about that either, were they heartbroken I am gone, moved on or have they passed away as well. So many questions but no answers.

Red, "Hey Ash look what I got!"

I looked at him holding a Pikachu plush toy, 'OMFG best big brother ever! ... Wait..... I remember what a Pikachu is but not my family? WTF! Did someone mess up my rebirth?'

Red looked worried, "What's wrong, you don't like it?"

I looked at the plush a little longer before making a give me motion making Red laugh brightly, 'Did I mention what an angel he was? No? I'm saying it again!'

Red, "Here you go Ash!"

I gurgled words with no meaning as the toy was put beside me. On my other side my mom was sleeping, she had woken up or rather I had woken her up at ungodly hours because I needed to change. Embarrassing! But unavoidable! Soon we could go home. The last day of our stay in the hospital was coming. Red was telling me about Pokemon and I was enjoying listening to him talk about everything he had learned. I wondered why he was speaking as if Pokemon was real but shrugged it off. After all my new cousin may be older than me but he is still definitely a kid. Looks like I lucked out on having a cute older cousin this time. I clapped my hands in time with his story getting happy grins from him that made me want to hug him. Ah! I can't wait to grow up and hug him. I may not remember my past completely but I will definitely cherish my present especially my new family.
