Orange Island

Jessilina sighed, "Looks like Ash and Gou aren't the only ones battling Team Rocket's dark faction."

Jameson scowled, "No, they are not, I truly hate inter Team fights, they get dirty."

Meowth, "Be ready nya. We're 'lmost dere."

James looked at Jessie, "You okay Jess?"

Jessie, "Yeah, yeah! I'm good."

Meowth, "Ya sure Jess, I mean, Cassidy w's in dat group."

Jessie closed her eyes, "I don't think I can help her anymore, I mean, raping children? She's too far gone. Let's just drop this subject, I don't want to be distracted by what ifs!"

James, "Alright, let's focus on this mission, we are to scout the Elemental islands and flush out any possible dangers."

Jessie nodded, "Let's go."

Tracey had learned a lot of things about his two young friends over the past few weeks, he had spent with them. First thing he had learned was they knew not only the Alolan regional Professor but also Kanto's regional Professor Oak as well as the leading research Professor Cerise. The second thing he learned was that his young friends loved cuddling with their Pokemon and sometimes each other a lot, at one point he was tempted to join them, but didn't ask that would look strange, no matter how comfortable they looked. Third thing he learned, was they let the Pokemon choose what they want to eat first while shopping, before going to buy items like massage oils and shampoo meant for Pokemon.

Fourth they would buy stuff for themselves only after they made sure their Pokemon's needs were covered. Fifth thing he learned, their Pokemon were very protective of them case in point how they beat up the man two days ago who obviously was propositioning Gou, just because he looked Galarian. Tracey frowned remembering that incident, he had called Officer Jenny once the Pokemon stopped trashing him, it was not his first offence apparently. It was actually the last incident that cemented his decision to go with the two of them, he could not in good conscience let them go on their own. The Pokemon battles and journey was one thing, pedophiles were a different matter all together.

Oblivious to Tracey's thoughts, Gou was busy sharing pictures in the group about the Crystal Onix and crystal Steelix, called Crystallix getting some of the most hilarious reactions from their friend group. Jessie and James however looked at the pictures and nodded to each other, it seems they had another place to protect. Red and Lorelei were having similar thoughts and Lorelei shared the information with Drake who gaped first before working on paperwork to make the small number of islands a reserve for the Pokemon. They never realized the treasure, they even had in the Archipelago, Lorelei was really happy she decided to sponsor Ash to take part in the Orange Island challenge.

Drake teased Lorelei, "Well that's two things the Orange League owes your kid now."

Lorelei huffed, "He is not my kid."

Sissy laughed from her screen, "Correction, your future adopted kid."

Danny, "Jokes aside, I for one am very interested in knowing how his journey will turn out."

Rudy nodded in agreement, "I have seen some of his performances, it's very impressive."

Luana sighed, "He reminds me of my own son, I wonder how he is doing."

Drake, "I heard he joined the Rangers actually."

Luana looked at Drake, "He did? How come he never told me last phone call!"

Lorelei, "It was just processed today, Luana, don't worry I'm sure he'll call you tonight."

Luana brightened, "I can't wait for it and I can't wait to challenge Ash, he sounds like a very promising trainer."

Ash and the others were flying giving Milotic and the other water types a break when he saw an Island surrounded by whirlpools. Gou looked it up and said it was Pinkan Island, a Pokemon reserve meant to protect Pokemon that had a unique pink colouring. Ash decided to search for a Rangers office and Charizard rumbled getting his attention and leading them to what looked like a campsite.

Ash, "Hello! Is anyone there?"

Gou, "We wanted to take a break here."

Officer Jenny walked out, "Hello and welcome to Pinkan Island, we don't normally have visitors coming here."

Tracey, "We were hoping for a break here from travelling actually."

Officer Jenny regarded them and the Shiny Pokemon with them, "Alright but I must ask you not to catch any of the Pokemon here, they are protected under the Kantonian law."

Ash, "That's fine, we just want a place to relax and stretch our legs, nothing more, would you mind if we let the rest of our Pokemon out?"

Officer Jenny gave them the go ahead and this time Tracey's Maril, Venonat and Golbat joined the group of relaxing Pokemon. Ash sat under the tree as Lucario put his head on his lap and they enjoyed the breeze that blew through the island. Their Pokemon were scattered around and he could see Tracey making a sketch of some of the Pokemon while Gou was taking pictures and sharing it in the group. Serena was in love with the pink coloured Pokemon and made plans to visit the Island herself in the future when she started her journey. Ash giggled when some of their Pokemon started to sport the colour pink and Officer Jenny explained the colour change was because of the Pinkan berries growing on the island. The berries were also known to be a powerful colouring agent however the Pokemon would return to their normal colour after a few days of not eating the berry.

Ash, "A pink Tyrunt would be very adorable."

Gou, "A pink Raboot too."

Raboot was not happy about it and put up a fuss however and avoided eating more berries, instead sticking to the poke food Gou had given him. They had left the island they next day early in the morning and came across another island that Tracey said was called Fukuhara Island. They decided to stop there and train a bit before continuing on with their journey when they were interrupted by a news crew and a group of archaeologist.

Ash, "Who are you people?"

Gou, "And why are you interrupting our training?"

Nurse Joy, "We are here to actually learn about this island, you see this island is known for it's Kabuto fossils. We are here to find some fossils and study them."

Tracey, "Huh! That sounds interesting."

The news anchor noticed the Omanyte and Tyrunt beside Ash, "Oh! These are prehistoric Pokemon, wait are you by any chance Ash Ketchum?"

Ash became a little wary, "Yes, I am... Why?"

The news lady smiled, "My name is Dina and I would love to interview you on your Pokemon."

Before she could say anything else Charizard picked Ash up and snarled at her making her back away. Ash gave her an apologetic smile before walking away with Charizard and trying to calm him down from attacking them. In the mean time, Tracey explained why Charizard was behaving like an overprotective Bewear, they had run into pedophiles more than once and didn't trust adult strangers easily and require time to get used to them. Dina simply nodded in understanding before sighing and deciding to record what the archaeologists were doing instead. Some of them kept looking at the Omanyte and Tyrunt but did not dare to approach the group fearing Charizard's wrath.

Nurse Joy gave a gasp, "This is a Kabuto fossil."

Ash who had been watching them move around the cavern that had opened after one of Charizard's attack hit it looked at the fossil frowning. He was forgetting something about it but couldn't remember what it was for the life of him. He shrugged and turned his attention back to his Pokemon who were getting agitated a bit by the people around them. Gou suggested they moved a bit further away from the archaeologists so they could train and not get in the way. Charizard rumbled in agreement and pulled Ash along with him away from the other humans who were obssessed with dirt? The fire lizard grumbled, he would never understand other humans outside of Ash, they make no sense most the time. Unknown to the group, the moment they left the camp site, the archaeologists started to face problems from falling rocks to electricity being cut. These problems however did not deter them from their work and they found more and more fossils.

Nurse Joy, "Oh my! I think the whole island may be made of Kabuto fossil."

Gou spoke up overhearing Nurse Joy, "Is it a good idea to dig them up then? If they are an important part of the island like you said, won't removing them cause harm?"

Nurse Joy looked contemplative, "You make a very good point."

One of the archaeologists spoke up, "Nurse Joy, we have already collected enough samples to advance our research for a few years."

Nurse Joy nodded, "I believe you are correct about that. There is no need for us to dig deep into the island when we already got what we needed."

Ash watched as the group of archaeologist started to pack up to leave the island for now at least. They would be back one day in the future but for now they had enough material to study. The three of them also decided to leave the island and headed towards another island called the Kinnow Island where they decided to have a picnic at Tracey's insistence. Ash and his Pokemon had been training according to him and they deserved a break now and then. Ash agreed when he saw Gou nod and look at him hopefully, they had been travelling for a while and had done nothing but training.

Ash mused, "Okay, I will admit training for a week straight then travelling without relaxing is a little monotonous."

Gou, "Right? Let's have fun, Ash."

Tracey, "The water here is so clear, it'll be perfect for a dip. Race you to the ocean."

Ash and Gou quickly changed into their swim wear and raced after Tracey followed by a couple of squealing Pokemon. Tyrunt stopped at the edge of the water while Omanyte, Phantump and Gou's water Pokemon jumped in. The rock dragon type hesitated before seeing Charizard in the water and taking a step in, it was warm and he gave a chirp and joined Ash who had moved to the shallow water. He had seen Tyrunt wanting to join them and had decided to stay close to the shallow side to be safe, Taurus, Miltank and Muk didn't seem to mind if the happy splashing was something to go with. Gou and Tracey joined Ash after having a bit of fun with their Pokemon when they heard a squeal coming from the shore.

A girl was waving at them, "Hi! I'm Marina and are these water Pokemon yours?"

Ash walked up to the picnic area, "Hello, I'm Ash and Milotic, Kingler, Wartotle and Omanyte are mine."

Gou, "Tentacool, Shellder, Staryu and Seaking are mine."

Tracey, "Maril is my partner."

Marina gave a squeal again, "Your Pokemon are so many and I can't believe you have an Omanyte, I can only dream about catching one."

Ash smiled, "You really love water Pokemon, don't you?"

Marina nodded, "Definitely, my dream is to become the strongest Water Pokemon Master."

Milotic trilled amused, -Sounds like Misty has competiton for the Water Pokemon Master title."

Marina gasped, "You talked, I didn't know that Milotics could talk."

Ash laughed, "She is special and it depends on how powerful your bond is as well. It's the bond between us that allows her to talk to us easily."

Milotic nodded, -It's true.-

Marina got starry eyed, "I have another goal now, to make my bonds with my Pokemon stronger than ever. It would be so amazing to be able to talk to them."

Gou, "Would you like to join us for lunch?"

Marina nodded, "I would love that.", she looked at Ash, "It has been a while since I had a Pokemon battle so, would you please have a water Pokemon battle with me?"

Ash, "Three on three?"

Marina, "I'm good with three on three."

Tracey, "I can referee but first lunch."

Marina grinned as she joined them and enjoyed the warm food and company. She had originally planned on ignoring the group having a picnic but seeing Omanyte and Milotic changed that plan. She asked them about the other Pokemon and Ash told her about a certain rule in the League rule book, it had her snorting. She wanted to hit herself inwardly however for forgetting about that rule, she could have brought all her ten water Pokemon with her. Well, now she was going to call home and have them sent to her after she returns to the Pokemon centre that is.
