Announcer, "Welcome to the semi finals everyone. It has been a very exciting day so far. I hope you are ready to see who will win this time."

The crowd cheered as the announcer continued, "Among the judges we have a very renowned Water Master, top coordinator and gym leader. Everyone give it up for Wallace!"

Wallace grinned and waved, "Hello everyone!"

He sat back beside Steven as the announcer continued, "Let's see who will be the winners this year and take away the type specialist recommendation letters. That's right after last year's amazing performance we are giving away three recommendation letter to the first, second and third runner up along with some amazing prizes. So contestants do your best."

Misty was pumped up, "Okay guys let's aim for the top."

Her Pokemon gave a cry of agreement before they settled down to watch the first battle of the semi finals. It was between an electric type specialist and a rock type specialist and very intense. The electric type user showed everyone why electric Pokemon were truly dangerous. She used the same move Ash had figured out a few days before the gym battle and was using it to paralyse her opponents. Misty bit her lip, she was going to be a tough challenge, even without the type coming into play, her Pokemon were fast and hard to keep up with. And the speed and steel type attacks she kept using instead of electric attacks made her, Chrome Rokudo was it, unpredictable.

Referee, "Chrome is the winner, she'll be moving on to the final rounds. Now battler Misty and battler Eir please step up to the battlefield. This will be a three on three battle. The first one who's three Pokemon faints will loose. Choose your Pokemon."

Eir was a beautiful teen, Misty amended who bowed, "Children and women first, they say, so little lady, you choose first."

Misty blushed embarassed, "I'm not a kid."

Eir eye smiled, "I didn't call you a kid though, little Lady."

Misty grumbled, "Whatever, let's go Cloyster."

Eir, "You know it's always such fun to battle a fellow water specialist, let's go Lumineon."

Referee, "Begin!"

Misty, "Aurora beam!"

Eir, "Bounce to dodge! That's a very powerful beam sweetie."

Misty was pink as she watched the Lumineon dodge the beam from her Cloyster. Cloyster however was annoyed, he didn't like the thought of a stranger flirting with his trainer and throwing her off. Cloyster turned to her and shouted at her to focus on the battle, Misty nodded remembering she wouldn't allow some stranger to distract her. Even though said stranger was a beautiful teenager dress up in beautiful island clothes that hugged her right.

Misty slapped her cheeks, 'Damn hormones, not now!', "That's it, Icicle spear cover the entire water field."

Eir, "Lumineon bounce and get on the field, followed by water pulse."

Misty, "Damn, that looks powerful, Iron defense screen protection, now!"

Cloyster set up his defense just as the attack hit him, luckily he was not damaged much.

Misty, "Now whirlpool, followed by screensonic."

Eir, "Retaliate with whirlpool followed by silver wing."

The two whirlpool collided cancelling each other followed by supersonic and silver wings. Silver wings were deflected by the light screen however supersonic hit Lumineon hard confusing him.

Misty, "Take him out hyper beam!"

Eir, "Lumineon quickly dodge!"

Unfortunately Lumineon was slow in dodging and was hit by the hyper beam knocking him out.

Referee, "Lumineon is unable to battle, Cloyster is the winner. Choose your next Pokemon."

Cloyster gave a sigh as Misty hugged him, "We did it. Take a break Cloyster, you were amazing."

Cloyster agreed and moved to Misty's side to watch the rest of the battles, "Clo!"

Eir, "Very impressive little Lady, I like you more and more, now come out Araquanid."

Misty gasped eyes sparkling, "OMFG that's a water and bug type, isn't it? It's so cool."

Eir grinned, "Why thank you for the lovely compliment, not only do you look sweet but also have a sweet mouth."

Misty 0////////0, "Asdghgss! Ahem! Misty calls Staryu."

Referee, "Begin!"

Ash turned to Gary, "Should we start a protection squad?"

Gary, "Calm down Ash, let's just see where this goes first."

AJ, "She your sister, or something?"

Ash looked at AJ, "Sister and best female friend."

AJ, "Ah!"

Gou, "We're just protective of each other that's all."

Chloe nodded biting her lip, "We don't want her getting hurt."

Brock, "It's not fair, why and how did she attract such a beautiful lady's attention?"

Ash, "By not being weird everytime she sees another woman."

Brock felt an invisible arrow pierce his heart, "Right where it hurts."

Ash snorted as he turned back to the battle where Staryu and Araquanid were battling it out using speed and endurance against each other. Water gun clashed against each other before Staryu used a combination of hydro pump and rapid spin and Araquanid used surf and waterfall. The two Pokemon hit each other and fell into the water, when they both surfaced they were both knocked out.

Referee, "Araquanid and Staryu are unable to battle. Choose your final Pokemon."

Misty returns Staryu, "You did great Star get some rest okay! Misty calls Starmie!"

Eir, "Rest Araquanid, now time to rock Sharpedo!"

Referee, "Begin!"

Eir, "Focus energy aqua jet!"

Misty, "Harden and rapid spin."

Sharpedo shot his attack towards the star Pokemon however thanks to harden Starmie did not feel much pain. Starmie on the other hand hit Sharpedo head first making the shark Pokemon cry out in pain.

Eir, "Sharpedo poison fang!"

Misty, "Harden again followed by thunder wave!"

Eir, "Oh no Sharpedo!"

When Sharpedo bit into Starmie hard he was shocked and knocked out, however he didn't go down easily. Starmie was also knocked out due to the powerful poison attack.

Referee, "Both Starmie and Sharpedo are unable to battle, however since Misty still has one Pokemon standing, she'll be moving on to the final round."

Misty sagged to the ground in relief, "Return Starmie, you did great carrying us through despite being knocked out."

Eir walked up to Misty and held out her hand much to Cloyster's annoyance, "That was very impressive little Lady Misty. I'm very impressed by your style."

Misty '//////', "Ah! Thank you Eir! But my Pokemon did most of the heavy lifting."

Eir took Misty's hand and kissed the top, "And they trusted you to guide them, don't sell yourself short cutie. You were amazing!"

Cloyster, "CLOYSTER!!!!!!"

Misty, "Ack! Cloyster calm down!"

Eir laughed, "My my such protective Pokemon. You are one lucky Lady. I better go and heal my Pokemon, see you around cutie."

Misty blushed as she watched the older teen leave, her long smooth dark hair swaying behind her. She was soon jolted out from her daze by the referee who announced a break before the final so the Pokemon have a chance to heal.

Ash, "Misty you were awesome!"

Gary, "Yeah, you really did great!"

Gou, "One more round to win!"

Chloe, "You can do it."

AJ, "I want to battle you as well, you are quite tough."

Misty grinned, "Thanks guys, where are Jessilina and Jameson? I have not seen them since yesterday."

Brock, "We are not sure, although knowing them they'll be somewhere relaxing and watching through the connected screens."

Misty, "I guess so!"

Chloe grinned, "Sooooo Eir?"

Misty, "I just met her!"

Ash, "If she hurts you."

Gou, "Just know that."

Gary, "We got your back!"

Misty 0/////0, "Guys no! We literally just met, it could just be a cultural difference too. So no okay!"

Ash drawled, "Cultural differences sure.. Let's go with that."

Brock snorted, "Not sure about that Misty."

Misty gave Brock a grin, "Are you jelly?"

Ash, "He is."

Gary, "Yep!"

Brock was embarrassed, "Guys! Give me a break!"

They looked at each other, "No way!"

Ash, "I have seen Zubat knock you out ever since coming on board five times now."

Misty, "You have been trying to flirt with every woman or adult teen you meet!"

Gary, "It's kind of embarrassing."

Gou, "And painful to watch."

Chloe, "You getting shot down everytime."

AJ laughed, "Oh my God! You lot are a riot!"

Brock, "Glad to know my suffering is being enjoyed by someone at least."

The group laughed as they enjoyed lunch and waited for Misty's Pokemon to heal back to hundred percent. The last battle would be another three on three battle and Misty actually planned on using her Poliwrath, Starmie and Cloyster against Chrome's electric Pokemon. She had been slowly increasing her Pokemon's endurance against electric attacks with Ash and Pikachu's help now she could test how far it helped.

Referee, "This is the final match of the tournament. It'll be a three on three battle and the first battler who's three Pokemon faints loses. Choose your first Pokemon."

Misty, "Misty calls Poliwrath!"

Chrome, "Let's go Pikachu!"

Referee, "Begin!"

Misty, "Poliwrath bellydrum followed by bubble beam!"

Chrome frowned, "Pikachu, agility followed by thunder wave!"

Misty, "Drain punch to the ground quick!", 'I have to remember to give Ash's Primeape a treat for teaching Poliwrath another use for that move!'

The electric attack hit Poliwrath and many thought the water type was done for. Ash grinned and cheered as Poliwrath still stood ready to battle much to everyone's surprise.

Misty, "Hydro pump!"

The hydro pump hit Pikachu head on getting a cry from the electric type.

Chrome, "Pikachu, are you alright?"

Pikachu got up, "Pika!"

Chrome, "Agility! Iron tail!"

Misty, "Belly drum followed by submission!"

As Pikachu got closer Poliwrath started to concentrate more of his strength on the submission move and when Pikachu attacked Poliwrath also moved and bright Pikachu down.

Chrome, "Thunder!"

Misty, "Megapunch!"

The two attacks hit both Pokemon promptly knocking them out.

Referee, "Poliwrath and Pikachu are unable to battle. Choose your next Pokemon."

Misty, "Return Poliwrath, you did great against Pikachu."

Chrome, "Let's go Lanturn!"

Misty, "Misty calls Cloyster.", 'What an adorable Lanturn.'

Referee, "Begin!"

Chrome, "Electro ball!"

Misty, "Iron screen, icicle shard!"

Lanturn threw the electro ball while Cloyster shot an icicle shard at her. The electro ball hit the iron defense and the electricity flew harmlessly to the ground. Lanturn dodged the shards and used icy wind which Cloyster retaliated with his own icy wind.

Chrome, "Surf!"

Misty, "Cloyster! Ice beam followed by aurora beam!"

The ice beam froze the wave before he shot an aurora beam at the electric Pokemon.

Chrome, "Take down, get him in the water!"

Lanturn used the frozen wave as a platform to add speed to her take down and pushed the shell Pokemon into the water.

Misty, "Oh no! Cloyster quickly, get out!"

Chrome, "Now thunder wave!"

Cloyster was unable to get out in time and got shocked badly.

Referee, "Cloyster is unable to battle, Lanturn is the winner. Choose your final Pokemon."

Misty, "Thanks for everything Cloyster, get some rest. Misty calls Starmie."

Referee, "Begin!"

Chrome, "Take down!"

Misty, "Hard spin!"

Starmie dodged the take down before spinning back after hardening and hitting Lanturn hard.

Chrome, "Lanturn you okay?"

Lanturn shook her head, "Lan!"

Chrome, "Confuse ray!"

Misty, "Confuse ray follow up brine!"

The rays hit and cancelled each other before Starmie hit Lanturn with brine!

Chrome, "Thunder wave!"

Misty, "Thunder wave spin!"

The two electric attacks hit the other Pokemon shocking Lanturn but Starmie was able to avoid most damage by spinning out at the last moment.

Referee, "Lanturn is unable to battle, choose your final Pokemon."

Chrome, "Lanturn return, rest up girl. Let's go Emolga!"

Referee, "Begin!"

Chrome, "Electric terrain!"

Misty, "Rapid spin, icy wind!"

Emolga covered the field in electricity creating a boost for himself while Starmie dodged by spinning and returned with icy wind.

Chrome, "Acrobatics!"

Emolga used the flying type move to get on top of Starmie.

Misty, "Starmie watch out, water gun light screen!"

Chrome, "Dodge thunder!"

Emolga dodge the water gun before shocking the water Pokemon only for the electric attack to hit the shield and shock him out instead.

Referee, "Emolga is unable to battle! Starmie and Misty are this year's winners."

Misty hugged Starmie, "We did it, we did it. Starmie we did it."

Chrome, "Get some rest Emolga! That was really fun battle!"

Misty, "Thank you I really enjoyed it too."

The award ceremonies started after a while with Misty, Chrome and Eir got written recommendations. Misty got the first prize money, mystic water, a lustrous orb and a mystery egg that she's sure is a water type Pokemon. Chrome got the second prize money, an electric gem and a mystery egg while Eir got a mystery egg and the third prize money. The group congratulated Misty on her win before going to celebrate with a dinner feast for everyone.

Wallace, "That group is quiet something."

Steven, "If any of them come to Hoenn, I think I'll keep an eye out for them. They are an interesting bunch of kids."

Wallace chuckled before sighing, "I wonder if Ruby would have turned out the same if he had friends who had different goals from him. I know Sapphire and Emerald drifted away because of conflict of interest."

Steven, "Well he's our kid now and we'll watch over him. Maybe I should pester him to visit Kanto in the next cruise. He may just meet someone."

Gold joined, "Are you talking about our youngest Champion?"

Wallace, "Yes, yes we are!"

Gold, "You know my offer to go pester him still stands."

Steven gave a laugh, "I rather not explain to Lance why you had to be brought back in a body bag, thank you."

Gold, "He would already know why. But on a serious note, bring him over during the next meeting. It'll do him good."

Steven, "I think I will."

Wallace, "Let's go join the others."

They joined the celebration and half way through Misty requested Ash to sing for them getting a surprised look from AJ. Misty explained Ash sang to help Charmander out and was a decent singer.

Ash, "I'm just a beginner."

AJ, "I'm really curious now though."

Jessilina, "He has a lovely voice I'll tell you that much."

Misty, "Jessilina, where have you been?"

Jameson sat next to them, "Sorry we couldn't join you. We had a meeting with our investors and that took the whole day. Well it's over now."

Ash looked at them concerned, "Are you sure you're okay?"

Jessilina waved him off, "We are fine, work just took us by surprise."

Jameson, "A song would be nice."

Ash looked at the mic and heard the tune, "Well I have one song that I think you'll like."

Gou perked up, "Really?"

Gary, "I would like to hear it."

Chloe, "Yeah, I'm curious too!"

Ash got up and talked to the music band getting curious looks from the Champions at their table. They looked at Red who shrugged clueless before they watched Ash walk up to the mic and started to sing another song. He called the song 'The Power of One', and sang the song joined by his Pokemon who danced around the stage following Lucario's lead. The aura Pokemon used his aura to guide the Pokemon in moving around in beat to the music and when it came to an end everyone was quite before they clapped together. Drew and Paul watched as Ash got down from the stage and rejoined his group beside Gary grinning.

Steven, "Oh my!"

Blue, "Looks like he won a few hearts."

Red, "Hell no, he's only thirteen!"

Cynthia sweatdropped, "Calm down overprotective Papa Ursaring!"

Diantha, "He would do well in show cases."

Leon, "He is something else. The song is familiar though."

Alder, "You felt it too?"

Wallace, "Like calling you home."

Lance, "You said he was not interested in being a Champion Red? Well looks like he'll change Kanto on her head anyway."

Red sighed as he watched Ash enjoy his time with his friends, he would talk with him later tonight. He had no doubts Lucario would bring Ash to his room just so he could sleep uninterrupted by his phobia. He would talk with him later and ask him why that song felt like it was talking to them. He wondered if it was because of his reincarnation, he suspected it was and guessed it was time he addressed it. If the wrong person found out about this, it would cause more trouble than Ash could handle on his own.
