Purpose

As she looked at the two women in front of her, one of which was dancing, while the other was playing the zither, Xu Yue couldn't help but let out a faint sigh.

"It seems as though this will be the end for them," mumbled Xu Yue, causing Ye Qiao, who was next to her, to faintly sigh, knowing that this was the case.

"They're already very fortunate, although they are talented more talented than-, they were very lucky to have reached the Major Transcendence Realm," said Ye Qiao.

Halfway through her sentence, just as she was about to mention a certain someone, Ye Qiao suddenly stopped herself, feeling that Xu Yue's mood seemed to have dropped the moment she was about to mention that person.

Even though Ye Qiao backtracked and did not say Bing Yue's name, the moment she heard this, Xu Yue's expression involuntarily darkened.

Although she knew that Ye Qiao did not have any ill intent, the moment Bing Yue was mentioned, Xu Yue's mind immediately went to certain memories of the past.

A few moments later, though, Ye Qiao's soft hands began slowly massaging Xu Yue's shoulders, causing her to finally close her eyes and somewhat relax, occasionally eating a grape fed to her by Yu Meiren.

Seeing this, whilst Shi Xia continued playing the zither, Shi Yao quickly took action and began massaging Xu Yue's legs, making her let out a faint sigh.

Although Xu Yue very much enjoyed relaxing, in the end, she only played with her concubines for around seven days, after which, she went to deal with something else much more important.

...

As she looked at Ming Yun, who was standing in front of her, slightly bowing, Xu Yue couldn't help but let out a faint sigh.

Being the first person to follow Xu Yue, Ming Yun held a rather special place in her heart, and as such, after hearing the latter's request, Xu Yue had to think for a few moments.

"With your talent, as well as the help that I can personally give you, you have some chances of reaching the Dao Saint Realm, are you sure that you want to proceed with this plan of yours?" asked Xu Yue, as she looked at Ming Yun, who had a sad expression on her face.

Without any hesitation, Ming Yun nodded.

"Yes, with my current strength, I am completely unable to assist you, even if I become a Dao Saint, that will not change, my only chance to truly be able to help you is before me, how could I not take it," said Ming Yun with a look of determination on her face.

Even though Xu Yue knew that the risk of what Ming Yun wanted to do was extremely high, as she looked at the eyes in front of her, which were filled with determination, she couldn't bear to hold her maid back, and as such, finally relented.

"Fine, I allow you to do as you wish with one condition, that you return alive..." said Xu Yue, causing Ming Yun to freeze for a few moments before nodding.

A moment later, Ming Yun disappeared, having begun traveling to her destination.

...

At an unknown point in time.

After billions of years, a battlefield that had stood since ancient times was once again filled with battle.

Although the battle that was taking place here was far less grand than what happened back then, many cultivators were still willing to give up their lives on it.

Far too many in fact.

...

After Ming Yun left, Xu Yue, who was now without her two oldest comrades, couldn't help but let out a sigh, feeling a little bit weird.

Of course, Xu Yue was not one to let her mood get the best of her, as she then returned to normal a few moments later, before deciding on what to do.

"I haven't been in there with my true body in a long time, it wouldn't hurt to pay her a visit," mumbled Xu Yue before disappearing as well, leaving a desolate and quiet cave abode behind her.

...

"It's really a pity the Snow Region was destroyed," mumbled Xu Yue as she looked at the enormous world of ice around her.

Right now, Xu Yue was walking barefoot on this ice, wondering around it.

Seemingly by design, right now, an enormous snow storm was taking place in this world, causing entire mountains of snow to move around Xu Yue, enhancing the beauty of this world tenfold in her eyes.

After spending around an entire week in this world, Xu Yue then finally had enough, and began walking to her destination, which was conveniently placed on the tallest mountain in the world.

Looking at the enormous ice crystal that was floating above the mountain, Xu Yue couldn't help but faintly smile, causing the block of ice to suddenly transform before disappearing.

A moment later, Xu Yue couldn't help but faintly smile as she felt two ice-cold hands embrace her from behind, seemingly sending motherly love to her.

This was of course Bing Ling, the ice spirit which inhabited the Trial Padoga.

"So, what brought you here to meet me, you usually leave me here alone," said Bing Ling as both she and Xu Yue fell deeper into the ice world of her own creation.

"Do I need any sort of reason to visit you?" asked Xu Yue as she felt the temperature become lower and lower.

In truth, with her current power, Xu Yue had far surpassed Bing Ling, who was only equivalent to a powerful Dao Saint, and could create such a world of ice herself.

But even so, for some reason, Xu Yue felt as though doing that would serve no purpose, and would simply aggravate her loneliness.

"You do need a reason, otherwise I might have to escape from you after what happened last time," said Bing Ling, causing Xu Yue to become enraged.

"Shameless, don't twist the facts, I was the one who had to escape from your grasp!" said Xu Yue with righteous indignation in her tone.

After a few moments of silence, both of them let out a chuckle at their silly antics.
