4.7 Million Years

As she looked at her grandmother, who was standing in front of her with no particular look on her face, Xu Chang'er, who had been away from home for the past few thousand years, couldn't help but suddenly jump into her embrace.

Of course, her love for her family was not the only reason Xu Chang'er did this, as the little fox still had some other plans.

Looking at the fox was had just jumped into her hands, Xu Yue couldn't help but shake her head after noticing the fact that Xu Chang'er had successfully digested the ginseng.

'As expected, my granddaughter has a little secret...' thought Xu Yue as she touched the latter's little tail.

"Chang'er, grandmother really underestimated you," said Xu Yue, causing Xu Chang'er to suddenly freeze.

As she felt the gaze of her grandmother, Xu Chang'er couldn't help but slightly shake, causing her little ears to lower themselves to her head.

"What do you mean grandmother?" asked Xu Chang'er as she ignored this feeling of fear and stopped shaking, allowing her to raise her head and stare straight into Xu Yue's eyes.

As she stared straight at Xu Chang'er, who was completely oblivious to the fact that her ears were showing all of her emotions to her, Xu Yue couldn't help but faintly smile.

"It's nothing, I'm just very happy that there will be someone around here to sort things out after I'm gone," said Xu Yue with a fleetingly sad look in her eyes, causing Xu Chang'er to notice it.

"Don't worry grandmother, If someone wants to bully you, just ask for my help, Chang'er will come to your rescue," said Xu Chang'er with a determined look in her eyes.

Hearing this, the eyes that Xu Yue used to look at the silly little fox in front of her changed, becoming slightly serious.

"Um, I'm feeling much more safe with Chang'er here to protect me," said Xu Yue before waving her hand, causing Xu Chang'er to disappear.

A moment after Xu Chang'er disappeared, Xu Yue suddenly let out a burst of laughter, causing everything several million Li around her to suddenly shatter to pieces.

Watching her little granddaughter try to act innocent so that she could hide her little secret from her was hilarious to Xu Yue for some reason, especially with how smart Xu Chang'er thought she was.

If Xu Chang'er had not been her granddaughter, Xu Yue would have long since investigated the secret the latter had, but since the fox was her very own blood, Xu Yue let go of that secret, and decided not to investigate it.

Of course, this did not mean that Xu Yue would not take a few goods looks at her granddaughter.

Unaware of the emotions that her grandmother was feeling at the moment, the instant Xu Chang'er was sent away by her grandmother, the former became extremely serious.

After making this preliminary search, several treasures suddenly appeared around the little fox, which then activated after a few moments.

These were treasures meant to guard against spiritual sense, divination, and other such methods, which had been obtained by Xu Chang'er after thousands of years of unrelenting efforts.

After activating them and making sure that nobody was spying on her, a token suddenly appeared in front of Xu Chang'er, causing her to suddenly crush it and disappear.

A moment after crushing the token, Xu Chang'er appeared in an extremely insignificant part, of an insignificant continent, of an insignificant small world, hidden in an insignificant region.

After arriving in this place where the weakest cultivators were old monsters at the Bone Refinement Realm, Xu Chang'er then made some other preparations, removing any sort of treasure that would attract attention to this place, whilst also making it as inconspicuous as possible.

Only after doing all of these things did Xu Chang'er create a tiny cave abode, just over one meter in size, and sat in the middle of it.

A moment later, Xu Chang'er suddenly died, becoming even more inconspicuous to the outside world.

But even after she died, Xu Chang'er feared that her body might attract the attention of some cultivator that might pass by.

Even though the things she had done previously made the chance of this happening extremely low, Xu Chang'er still didn't want to take any sort of risk, as such, a few moments after she died, the body of Xu Chang'er was suddenly enveloped by stone, as the cave abode filled in around her.

Now, from the outside world, Xu Chang'er looked like just a mortal fox who had been enveloped by stone, allowing her to go unnoticed even after all of her other methods were breached.

In fact, a few moments later, all of these treasures that Xu Chang'er had activated disappeared.

But even so, for some reason, their effects still persisted.

Now though, after making sure that everything was alright, Xu Chang'er could finally enter seclusion.

'I'm sorry grandmother, I'm about to leave you to fend for yourself, hopefully you can survive your troubles,' thought Xu Chang'er before entering seclusion.

A moment later, Xu Chang'er no longer thought about such matters, and turned her attention onto cultivation.

As she looked at her granddaughter, who was frankly paranoid to the highest degree, Xu Yue couldn't help but feel a weird feeling emerging from her heart.

Right now, for some reason, Xu Yue felt as though this would be her last time meeting Xu Chang'er in this realm.

Although she was unaware of where this feeling emerged from, Xu Yue couldn't help but let out a faint sigh and take one last look at her granddaughter, who was about to enter a somewhat long seclusion.

In fact, Xu Chang'er would not emerge from seclusion until 4.7 Million years later, when she would finally become a True Immortal.

Of course, at this moment, Xu Yue was unaware of this fact, as well as unaware of the sheer extent of the paranoia Xu Chang'er felt.
