My Idle System

Honestly, I wanted to delay writing this review a little longer, but after seeing a comment on the book that left me feeling a bit wronged😅, I decided to go ahead and write one. So, before I talk about the book itself, I’d like to address something about the protagonist, as the story revolves around him. He has ambition and aspirations, but lacks the motivation to work hard or put in the effort, always preferring the easy way despite having some abilities. He’s unsociable, and even though he lost his parents at the age of eight, his older sister still shielded him from the world. Now, what happens when someone like him doesn’t just have "some" ability but an "enormous" one? What would he choose? What could he achieve? This is one of the themes of my book, and why, despite not wanting to write about an eighteen-year-old boy who hasn’t experienced much and has been living in his own closed-off world, I decided to take the risk. I chose the age of eighteen, at the end of high school, because I felt it’s one of the most pivotal periods in a person’s life. As the protagonist gains his Idle System, his "cheat," and navigates this stage of life, what will he choose? And why? That’s what the first volume of my novel is about. It’s the [Prologue], after all, with chapters filled with the protagonist’s inner thoughts. I wanted to capture these moments of youth, and while they could be embarrassing, unbearable, overwhelming, or more, they are still memorable. I also hoped to make them engaging for readers. The transition during this period, after the protagonist gets his Idle System, then he faces his first crush, his first problem, and starts figuring out what he really wants, that’s where the story picks up. I wanted to explore the difference between his thoughts and actions, or if there is any at all. In the end, I don’t consider myself that I have succeed, but it’s not too bad, and I do feel like I’ve improved along the way. So, where am I going with all this? It’s about a comment I read, calling my protagonist a simp and stupid. As a reader, I’ve always hated that kind of thing the most, but seeing my protagonist labeled like that, while I still respect everyone’s opinions, it’s something I couldn’t quite accept. This is called character development, because there’s a reason behind his actions, and even then, I don’t think he did that wrong thing. Inexperience isn’t the same as simping or stupidity. It’s just that when you face something new, mistakes happen, and the important part is learning from them and not repeating them. And looking back, I still don’t know what these mistakes are, as no one has pointed them out. Or maybe that’s just my opinion? Anyway, now that I finished my venting, let’s move on to the book. Or, rather, what is there to talk about? The chapters so far are mainly about the protagonist, and the world-building is still in its early stages. But I can tell you this: there are things written that could be considered signs or flags in the chapters, and the upcoming volumes will explore them. Now that the protagonist is borderline above normal people and nearing the ceiling of ordinary abilities, what will he become? And what will happen next? I love this story so far. The main issue I have that is causing me to drop it is that the character is unbelievably stupid/simping/stalkerish. It's almost physically painful reading what he's doing. I know some people will be fine with that, but for me, I can't handle that.

an excellent novel, I like that the mc is consistent with his age, showing somewhat childish and impulsive attitudes, unlike many other novels where the mc, despite being 17 years old, acts like a thirty-year-old, in addition to this, the quality of the writing also appeals to me I really liked it and I can't wait to continue reading it

Hello, I read a book until chapter 40 and for sure I can tell that is a piece of great work. Like the title says MC will be lazy and will mostly depend on his system to learn new things, but if it's needed expect MC to roll up his sleeves and do his work. We can tell that Mc is a lazy ambitious person. There aren't many important characters for now in this book that Mc has interaction with aside from his sister who is hardworking, devoted to family, confident, and sometimes emotional. Well, there isn't much to say about the world's background because it's like our world but one person has a system and we look from his perspective and well he didn't see any other special person with any powers. Story development gives me this vibe like it's only starting even on 40 chapters and yeah some things happened mc got in some trouble, he is a little richer and smarter but there aren't many changes than before that for me. The writing quality is good I read it enjoyably and don't see many flaws. Chapter updates are stable you can expect 1 chapter a day. In summary, I gladly recommend it to anyone who likes urban and system novels and has some free time to spend and doesn't know what to do.

Its good enough, i cant say nothing about the writing quality because i saw it translated to my language and the translate is too bad, but the novel is good

Your novel is a masterpiece. I feel that and I hope you get better. I saw your notes that you are going through something. I don't know if it's a real problem or it's a temporary thing, but I hope you get better and continue to update this novel because I really feel this novel has a good potential 💯💯💯💯💯

fantastic book, it's a slow paced book with in depth world building. unfortunately I'm more of a fast paced hack and slash, so this isn't my cup of tea. none the less quality still deserves respect and you most certainly have mine

very solid book, no stupid misunderstandings. the mc actually thinks about his actions, the characters feel natural instead of a cheer squad for the mc and in general it is a good story.

Kinda disappointing. Early chapters make it seem like a wish fulfillment novel lowkey, only for it to not be one and now they are hinting of other worlds and stuff and can’t we let the mc parents die naturally for once ? Why dose everything have to be a revenge plot.

Personally, I don't like doing this, but come on, the main character is completely illogical, despite a little change, it's still something that's unbearable. Come on, I didn't see anyone talking, so basically the guy became an orphan at 8 years old, and his sister managed to support him without him having many difficulties, so far so good, however, his mentality is that of a 13-year-old, no matter how antisocial he is, it doesn't justify the way he is, if he had a mental problem it would be different. His sister is an angel, if she were the main character she would be a super person, she can support the house, give her brother an allowance, clean the house and make food, i this in a job without a degree working in the daytime To get an idea of how detestable the MC is, if you put a Chinese young master and the MC side by side, 8 out of 10 people would choose the young master. But it's not all bad, the idea is interesting, you don't find writing errors all the time, the system could be better built but it's not bad, the consistency of the novel is good, well, unless involving the mc

Lacking in updating stability, but other then that it’s a good wn to pass time with and entertaining

Good concept and decent writing quality. The story develops slowly but not painfully slowly. The MC ruins the entire story tho and it's not like the author knows how bad he is and plans to change him. He's a simp, a stalker and lazy asf and the author defends him to no end. I would bet money that this is a self insert and author is just now figuring out how unlikeable he is from the comments. But author, honestly your writing style is some good work so keep writing I wanna read another one of your books, but please write a serious MC or at least not a self insert.

I really liked to concept but the development is painfully slow. Some arks are way to long where skipping a few chapters won't matter. Also, although I understand that he is a 18 year old kid, he's way too indecisive which is excruciatingly frustrating.
