Game of revenge

Twelve years ago they were lovers, then suddenly they became enemies and separated from each other. Hating each other so long, they finally met after twelve years on their wedding day... I arched my lips exposing an arrogant smile, then challenged him "Okay now I am married to you let's see who makes whom cry?"  He looked into my eyes, his pair of emotionless blue eyes flashed for a second with astonishment "So do you also want to play revenge game with me?" I chuckled "Of course, when you have started the 'game of revenge', then I would also like to play with you." Note:- The book cover isn't mine, I just borrow it from Google, just edited by me.

CH.5- Threat

FL pov...

I felt goosebumps upon hearing his threat, a sense of fear fenced me. I looked into Victor's eyes, and although he seemed calm, I knew he was also aware of the current situation.

His threat wasn't hollow, he was a wounded tiger, who was eager to take revenge on me who wounded him, and if anyone tries to hinder him, he too will have to face his havoc.

I turned to face Aaron, his cold and solemn facial was in front of me. Parted my lips, I asked slowly "What are you wanting from me?"

His eyes faintly glowed, he was delighted by my question, lovingly he tucked my messy hair behind my ear as his fingers brushes my ear and said solemnly without any expression.

"Fulfill your promise and I'll let him go," he slowly added "Alive."

I enlarged my eyes, bewildered about what he said to me "Promise?"

He slightly nodded "Hmm, have you forgotten that many years ago you promised me that you will only marry me, you will never marry anyone other than me?"

Hearing his words I couldn't stop my scoffed "You remember the promise I made a decade ago, but you probably do not remember what I said a decade ago other than that?"

Seizing his solemn expression in my eyes, I chuckled, but my words were fierce "If your memory gets blurry, then let me clear it for you, I said that I hate you the most in the entire world, then how did you think that I will be agreeing to marry you?!"

He pursed his lips and took a few steps back, his softly fisted palm under his chin as if he was in deep thought, then he looked at me.

"I remember that also, but a promise is a promise, you shouldn't try to break it or god will punish you," his blue eyes flashed with cruelty "Or give the punishment for your sins to someone else."

Then he clapped and a few men came into that room, he gestured to them, and one of them took out his gun and put it on Victor's head.

I widened my eyes, he looked at me and whispered in my ear "Now you fulfill your promise or else I will kill him and feed him to wild animals."

I was scared by his threat, but the next second I played bravely or maybe... Dumb. I forgot my current situation. I rolled my eyes and looked into his emotionless eyes "You can't do that,"

"Very well," he smiled, though his smile didn't match his expression at all.

Then he waved his hand to his men, another man who was standing there, took a dagger and stabbed it in Victor's hand.

His painful expression didn't hide from my eyes. Had it not been for the piece of cloth in his mouth, the whole room might have just resonated with his scream.

I could see that Victor was full of rage, his gaze was fixed on Aaron, and his face turned red due to anger and pain. He clenched both fists that blue veins were clearly visible.

A few droplets of blood came out from his torn flesh, rolling in his hand it fell on the off-white marble floor, and started dyeing it.

I was scared and ran to him, but Aaron caught me firmly and didn't let me go, even didn't let me move an inch.

He gestured to his man once again. The man gave Victor another sharp pain as he pulled back the dyed red dagger from his hand.

He was about to stab it in his other hand once again when I exclaimed "I will, I will, I am ready to marry you, I-I... Just let him go!" I said panicky, this man had changed a lot, he could do anything to achieve his goal.

Aaron raised his hand and his subordinate stopped his hand in midair which was holding the dagger. The dagger's blood droplets tip an inch above his hand, before he retreated the red droplets fell and mixed with his bloody hand.

That man and another one retreated from there.

I felt my shaking legs yet sighed, I stumbled to the floor to collect myself.

Really, revenge turned a man into a beast, and kind into ruthless.

I was the one who made him like this so I had to atone.

He pulled me up, and I felt his fingers nail down around my forearm, he made me stand up and commanded "Get ready, we don't have enough time,"

As he said it, a few people came there, one of them seemed to be a lawyer, though he was wearing a black coat.

He had given him some documents, he signed them and passed those papers along with a pen to me.

Carrying the pen my hand moved to sign those marriage documents, I had to write only two words on it, but reluctantly my hand moved slowly... So slowly that even if there was any snail, he would have come back after running 100km.

I lifted my eyelids and found Victor's fixed gaze on me. Obvious wearing a dejection expression.

He shook to forbid me from signing, but it wasn't useful now. I faintly smiled at him, there was a clear pain and helplessness in his eyes, which was also in my eyes, and I knew that he was also seeing it.

Annoyed by my lateness, Aaron collided his head with mine and whispered, his hot breath blew into my ear carrying another threat.

"Instead of injured his hand, I should have dug out both his eyes, so that instead of wasting time looking into his eyes, you might have paid attention to signing the paper," he encircled his arm around my waist.

"But it doesn't matter, it's not too long, I still can do this."
