Dinner with the Bakugo's was...interesting to say the least.
You discovered where Bakugo got his unique personality: his short-tempered mother. You sat in shocked silence watching Bakugo and his mother bicker back and forth most of the night. His father was the calm well-mannered one who tried to break up the tension.
In all, you enjoyed the night.
It got a little awkward when Masaru finally broke and questioned you about the bruise on your face. They thought their son was the cause of it, you had no idea what to say to them. You didn't want to lie to them but at the same time, you didn't want to admit you received the gift from an inmate in prison.
Bakugo was the one to answer for you, claiming it was from training and no it wasn't from him.
Bakugo lied for you...he hated lairs.
His parents were relieved to know their son wasn't going around beating on young girls. You oddly, didn't want their opinion of you to shift into that of Vlad's, a young villain who belonged behind bars. You didn't understand why you cared about their thoughts on you...
Bakugo was forced to walk you home, he grumped and complained but did it anyway. The walk home was a comfortable silence between the two of you. The small conversation you ended up having was when you discovered a nickname for Bakugo you liked: B.
Bakugo claimed he hated it, but you didn't care.
Once you recognized the area you were in, you explained to Bakugo you knew how to get home and he could just head home himself. His glowing red eyes looked down at you, he claimed his mother would somehow find out he didn't take you all the way back to All Might's and beat his ass.
Bakugo walked you all the way to the porch before muttering a set of words, the one word you did catch was: dumbass before quickly leaving. You smiled as you watched him leave. Mitsuki gave you a container of curry to take home with you, you gave it to All Might when he finally got home from UA, who was not thrilled to find out you walked to the store all alone. The night ended with a quick movie with All Might and bed.
The next morning you woke up in the lazy afternoon.
The sun was beaming through your bedroom curtains, you could feel a warm breeze sliding in through the cracked patio doors. If felt like a good day to laze around.
A quick breakfast of eggs and toast, you found a note left for you on the fridge from All Might saying he was out preparing for his weeklong trip, he wished you would join him on.
You sighed, still not sure if you wanted to go on the trip or not. Scratching your head, you checked your phone and flinched seeing several missed calls and messages from Bakugo.
He was not a patient person, after you didn't reply within ten minutes, he then blew up your phone and held a one-sided conversation with himself. His mother had invited you over for dinner once again, Bakugo explained he wouldn't shut up and leave him alone until he called you. He concluded you did not wish to join simply because you were asleep.
You gave him a quick call, getting an ear full when you said you just woke up in the late afternoon. With All Might not home, you agreed to walk over.
Bakugo muttered through the phone, telling you to do whatever you wanted before hanging up. After casually tossing the phone on his bed he went to the bathroom to brush his hair and teeth.
"What are you doing?" Mitsuki questioned her son, seeing him put in an effort in his appearance for the first time.
"(y/n) is coming over." He muttered, spitting out the foam in his mouth.
"I thought she wasn't?" Mitsuki sheepishly grinned.
"I guess she has been asleep all day." Bakugo muttered,
"Didn't you say she was recovering from something?" Mitsuki wondered,
"Yeah." Bakugo mumbled.
"Doesn't surprise me she slept most of the day then-" Mitsuki giggled seeing her son's annoyed expression. "-you jumped to conclusions didn't you-"
"I didn't jump to anything!" Bakugo snapped stomping passed his mother.
"Where are you going?"
"To change!"
"Why?" Mitsuki snickered, "Trying to look nice for when-"
"I don't care what that dumbass princess thinks!" Bakugo snapped.
"Oh, you call her princess?"
"I-It's just a name she hates!"
"Sure, it is." Mitsuki smiled, seeing a new side of her son. "What do you think (y/n) would like for dinner?" Bakugo looked up, trying to think but he discovered he didn't know your favorite foods.
"She eats a lot of pasta..." He recalled; at school you always had some type of pasta during lunch.
"I can work with that." Mitsuki smiled, "What about desert, you think she will like that?"
"She loves sweets." Bakugo was lost in thought, thinking back to all the times you pulled some type of sugary snack from your bag.
Mitsuki leaned against the wall, gazing at this new side of her son she had never seen before. His eyes were soft as he held a small smile, he didn't even realize he had on his face as he was thinking about you.
After an hour Bakugo was getting restless. He kept glancing at his phone and then getting up to look out the window expecting you to be walking up any second now. Mitsuki and Masaru kept glancing at each other, both smiling.
"She's not coming." Bakugo declared after another moment, he plopped on the couch his chest feeling strangely tight. Why would you come willingly? Last night you were dragged here by his mother. It's like anyone else in his class was lining up to have dinner with him and his family.
"You don't know that." Mitsuki said, "Something could have come up-"
"I don't care!" Bakugo snapped, not looking at either of his parents. Bakugo didn't understand why he felt so...agitated.
"Why don't you call her?" Masaru suggested.
"Yeah!" Mitsuki agreed, "Maybe she got sidetracked."
"Mhm." Bakugo huffed but picked up his phone before walking into another room away from his parents. He looked at the phone's screen, your name rested on it and he debated on calling you or not...
Bakugo glared at the screen. the vein in his forehead throbbed. How dare you blow him off!
"Hello?" You answered,
"Where the hell are you!?" Bakugo snapped, "If you didn't want to come then just-"
"I'm working on it." You replied.
"Huh?" Bakugo blinked, staring at the floor for a second. "Are you lost or something!?"
"Ah..." You awkwardly laughed, "...no?"
"How the hell are you lost!?" Bakugo snapped, "I just walked you home last night!"
"I have the direction capabilities of a Dodo bird." You joked, looking around at the unfamiliar area.
"Those went extinct."
"Exactly." You laughed.
"Ugh!" Bakugo growled, "Your useless! Send me your location!" He ordered pulling on his shoes.
"...my what?"
"Hopeless!" Bakugo snapped, forgetting you're still getting used to your cell phone, so you probably had no idea how to send your location to him. Mitsuki smiled as she watched Bakugo leave the house to go find you. He was harshly giving you orders on how to use your phone.
You gazed up to the sky as you sat on a bench, feeling light water drops hitting your skin. It wasn't supposed to rain until later...
"Dumbass-!" You heard his deep voice, your heart skipped seeing him. He wore dark jeans, a red shirt with a black zip up hoodie. He was lightly panting as he approached you, had he run the entire way here? "-how the hell did you end up four blocks in the wrong direction!?" He lectured moving in close to you as he opened his umbrella.
"It's a talent." You smiled, as the rain began to pour.
"You really are a helpless-" Bakugo glanced down at you as the two of you walked back to his house. "-you know that princess?"
"I told you not to call me that!" You snapped looking up at him causing him to smirk. Your arms brushed against each other as the two of you huddled together under the umbrella.
Mitsuki offered both of you hot tea to warm up once you got back to Bakugo's house. She thought it was hilarious you had gotten yourself lost! The night concluded peacefully with Bakugo and his mother fighting with Masaru trying to break them up. You laughed, feeling warm inside their home.
----
Monday slammed into the UA students faster than anyone could prepare for it. Most of Class 1-A had collected at the train station and waited for their train to carry them off to a new chapter in their lives.
Mina laughed watching Kaminari and Sero goof off.
"I wish you here!" Mina repeated for the sixth time into her phone.
You sat in All Might's house on the couch in fuzzy pants watching them through the video chat on your phone.
"Yeah." You agreed.
All Might was not happy you had left once again and wandered around town. He wanted you to rest and allow your body to recover. You groaned feeling insanely bored hearing those words. All Might wouldn't allow you to travel to the train station to see your fellow classmates off, so Mina decided to video chat until everyone had to depart.
"I can't believe I won't see you for a whole week!" Mina gasped,
"How will you ever live without me?" You joked, smirking at her through the screen.
"I don't know-!" She gasped, "-I'm gonna have with draws from you!"
"I'm sure you will be able to sneak away for a moment and get your fix." You laughed.
"You bet I will! Oh, Midoriya is here!" Mina flipped the camera around to show the green-haired mop walking up.
"Hey guys!" He waved with Shoto by his side. "What's up?"
"We are just waiting!" Mina waved, "Come say hi to (y/n)!"
"Huh?" Midoriya blinked, looking at the phone to see you wave. "Oh hey!" He laughed, "I see you found a way to get around All Might's restriction."
"There is always a loophole." You said.
"How did you know about (y/n) not being allowed to come?" Mina wondered, you watched Midoriya freeze, he was a terrible liar. He couldn't exactly say he was over here last night after you got home from Bakugo's saying goodbye to All Might and hung out with you for a bit.
"Can I not talk to other people?" You pulled the heat off Midoriya.
"Are you cheating on me!?" Mina gasped,
"What?" You laughed, "Never!"
"Hey Bakugo!" Kirishima waved to the ash blond. "Over here!"
"I still can't believe the school isn't letting you accept an internship." Jiro said peeking over Mina's shoulder.
"Yeah." You lightly shrugged; your ribs ached as you did so. "Nothing we can do about it now."
"You need to rest up (y/n)!" Ochaco smiled over Mina's free shoulder.
"I will." You promised.
"Yeah!" Kirishima's face popped over the phone, taking over the entire screen. "By the time we all get back, I'll be stronger, and I want you to be at full strength so we can face off!"
"Yeah?" You chuckled,
"Yeah!"
"It's a deal then-"
"Who are you idiots talking to?" Bakugo's voice interrupted as he made his way over to the crowd of his classmates.
"(y/n)." Jiro answered, not bothering to look up at the hot-headed blond.
"Hm?" Bakugo narrowed his eyes on the phone's screen as Mina held it up for him to see.
"Say hi Bakugo!" Mina smiled, Bakugo's face filled the screen causing you to smile.
"Hey B." You gave a small wave.
"Wait-!" Kirishima jumped, "-what did you call him!?"
"Uh..." You trailed off.
"You called him B!?" Mina joined in, "You have a nickname for Bakugo!?"
"Shut the hell up!" Bakugo growled, glaring at his classmates.
"Aw-!" Kirishima laughed, "-come on B!"
"Don't call me that!"
"Oh, only (y/n) can call you that?" Mina wiggled her eyebrows.
Before Bakugo could respond and blow up his classmates, the train doors opened summoning him.
"Fuck off!" Bakugo snapped, refusing to look over his shoulder. He felt the urge to glance at the phone which held your face, but he kept his gaze a head as he stepped a head on the train.
"He is no fun!" Kirishima whined.
Bakugo rubbed the side of his face, his heart pounding in his chest as his face burned red. As the train began to move, he turned his head, glancing at Mina who held you in her hand. A piece of him wished you were on his phone, talking to him—Bakugo quickly shook his head clear. What the hell was he thinking!? He had to get his head in the game and get ready for his internship!
"I have to go-" You sighed.
"What!?" Mina whined looking down at you. "Why!?"
"Because I have to finish packing."
"Packing?" Mina blinked.
"Oh!" Midoriya perked up, "You're going with All Might after all?"
"Huh?" Mina blinked. "I thought you couldn't go anywhere?" You shot Midoriya an annoyed look.
"The school cleared me to go with All Might on some trip." You shrugged, "It was that or nothing at all."
"You need to be resting at home!"
"I will." You replied, "This is more getting out and seeing the world." You smiled. "I'll probably just be sitting in a hotel room the entire time."
"But-"
"I have been locked in a cage-" You decided to play the only card you had to shut Mina down. "-I never got to see much of the world, and this is a chance for me to get out and see it. Even if it's not much-"
"Oh (y/n)-!" Mina had tears drip down her face.
"When we all get back, we have to go on a trip together!" Ochaco said.
"Yeah!" Jiro agreed.
"Where are we going?" Kirishima wondered, turning his head to hear the conversation.
"I gotta go!" You called waving. "You guys' be safe."
"You too!" Mina waved back. "Bye!"
