Strong Boss monster

Right now, Ren was still inside this underwater gate.

But a while had passed and he in turn got accustomed to his power and now was about to face the boss of this gate so that he can finally get out.

On the way, he met many SS and SSS rank monsters, and they didn't stand a chance against him, but at this moment Ren who had practically butchered them, was slightly nervous.

'If it's an Ex-rank, I'll escape first,'

Even though the system was a huge help, and can teleport strong people to help those in danger, in this case, only iris Heart would be able to help, and he didn't want to implicate her in such a fight.

As for him, he couldn't teleport on his own, since it didn't work that way.

Of course, there were teleporting talismans, but those had the condition that you weren't in a fight, so Ren had to escape first.

*Fuah*

Ren took a deep breath and stepped into the area of the boss.

This was an underwater gate, so at the very least he was expecting an underwater boss monster.

But who knows? As gates didn't adhere to regular logic.

At any rate, he flew straight to the area that was surrounded by ice pillars intertwining and ice spikes that protruded from the ground as if they had resulted from the water under and had pierced through something and got out to the surface.

Before taking any more steps, Ren floated in place for a while, and then his body started changing.

This was Ren's current status.

Certainly, it had become more amazing all this time.

Ren sported a short grin on his face.

His nervousness wasn't going to interfere with his battle mindset and he wouldn't be caught off guard.

Not if he enters with his 100% immediately.

His form suddenly started changing.

He activated his two most recent overpowered abilities, and then he had become his hybrid white tiger form covered with a chakra cloak and also became water intangible.

As long as the opponent wasn't Ex-rank, Ren was in.

He was confident he could fight anyone else and win.

And with that mindset, he entered the area where a lake with a diameter of iced spikes was visible.

The water appeared to be extremely cold, and Ren waited for the monster to appear but he wasn't sure if it would surface from there.

It didn't mean that he wasn't alert to it coming from anywhere else either.

It was just that his observation Haki despite being strong wasn't picking up this boss monster.

Perhaps it wasn't yet strong enough, and that was what Ren was quite cautious of.

Then Ren brought forth the last thing he needed.

His newest weapon.

Since it was fused into his body, all he really had to do was imagine the shape of the weapon he needed, and boom, it would be in his hand.

Ren imagined a long spear with double edges and voila, the next thing that happened was it materializing in his hands.

*Swish*

Ren twirled the rather long spear in his hands as the knowledge of how to masterfully use it instinctively poured into his cells and mind.

A few minutes later, he felt he was good now and was about to attack that lake to rouse the boss monster that had yet to appear.

But just as Ren had that intention, suddenly, the ice under him broke apart as a huge jaw tried to bite his form.

Ren found out it had instantly appeared near him so the best thing he could do at that time was to belatedly try and dodge.

He kicked the air with his SSS+ rank speed and this had him soar immediately upward and despite the speed, he was flying up, Ren felt at least one leg of his would be bitten…

*Bite*

If not for his newest intangibility that is.

The jaw that calmed shut didn't have Ren's leg inside of it, rather, it had turned to water, and Ren had successfully dodged the attack.

His right leg turned to water and replenished the lost part.

Now, Ren was able to use his basic senses to gauge his opponent since observation Haki was only warning him that his opponent was dangerous, and he couldn't accurately see its level as he did usually.

Still, generally, he was able to notice that this beast was quite strong, but the very fact that he was able to notice this and slightly quantify the threat level meant it wasn't Ex ranked.

And since he also felt it to be quite stronger than the SSS rank, this only left the threshold that he himself was on. The SSS+ rank, which a step below the Ex-rank, and a sky above the SSS rank.

'It's not the worst-case scenario at least…'

He was confident he could win against this monster as long as it wasn't Ex-ranked.

But that didn't mean it would be easy.

For example, Ren earlier would have been injured if he didn't possess his new intangibility.

Granted, he wouldn't have tried fighting the boss in the first place if he didn't have it, but the fact was there.

At any rate, Ren finally observed the monster that came out of nowhere to attack him.

Surprisingly, it was green and red colored and had a face like a dinosaur, its teeth were sharp and long, and ren didn't want to be caught in between those.

It had four fins for limbs that it used to travel, but it was also apparent that this monster was able to breathe both underwater and underwater.

Another point to note was that the skin of the monster was definitely toxic. Ren could guess that just by looking at it.

Still, this wasn't the time to dilly dally, Ren didn't wait, and then he raised his right hand up, and then a circle of wind started rotating around his right wrist.

It started to expand while its center remained in his hand until Ren felt it was enough.

Not even a second had passed, but Ren had already flung it at the monster who was still in the sky.

The circle of wind spun and traveled in the sky to the monster as if it was a Destructo disk, which was exactly what Ren modeled it after.

When it was about to touch the helpless monster, or so it seemed, the monster swung its tail that had the shape of ice spikes and it flung the attack aside easily as if it didn't even bother it.

The monster dived back into the lake before reemerging and taking a stand on the ice mountain there.

Its eyes glared and locked onto Ren's form.

It opened its mouth as it locked on, and then fog-like energy gathered at its mouth, which made Ren's senses go haywire and he knew he had to dodge that.

Despite the dangerousness of the situation, however, it seemed like Ren's eyes held a hint of enjoyment and thrill.

Ren gripped his spear, and the moment the beam of ice that had gathered at its mouth shot at him, he used his superior speed to launch himself out of the way and counterattack, as he reached near its head and swung his spear.

In this way, Ren continued his fight against a similarly ranked monster which seemingly wasn't easy to deal with.

And later on, he'll go on a date as if he wasn't fighting in a dangerous gate right before.

Such was the life of Ren.
