Escort Duty

"It's been a while Percy" Kong said as his voice was transmitted over the den den mushi.

"It has fleet admiral" Percy said as he stared into the ocean. He was confused why the fleet admiral would contact him now,

[It's been a year since I left Marineford and only now I get a call from headquarters?]

"*sigh* listen. I know you're still upset with your assignment, but that's over and done with. All we can do is move on, no?"

"Yes sir" Percy said as he didn't really know how to respond.

"Good. I'm calling because the Levely is happening in one month and we ran out of escorts. Usually you would be assigned someone, but because of the past incident..."

"I know, I'm in deep s*it with the world government. So why are you calling me now?"

"We need you to go to North Blue, one of the kingdoms there, Jambalaya, just got permission to attend and all remaining vice admirals are off securing their own escorts."

"What about Borsalino or Sakazuki? Surely they can escort one of the kings."

"I guess no one told you" Kong started, "Borsalino and Sakazuki recently made vice admiral and are now assigned their own noble."

"What about Dragon?" Percy insisted, he did not want to do this mission. He'd rather train some more with Garp, Dragon, and Orange than participate.

"No worries, you'll see Dragon soon. He's helping Garp with his own escort duty. And let me tell you another secret... should there be no problems, then Dragon would be promoted to vice admiral as well. He is after all, strong enough."

"True" Percy said as he was out of options, "I'll head over to North Blue now then. I need to pick up my ship first though. Does Rosati still have my men."

"No, he dropped them off at Dressrosa. He needed to pick up the king there anyway."

"Alright, I'll have Garp drop me off there and then head over to Jambalaya."

"Very good" Kong said as the conversation was about to end, "and Percy"

"Yes sir?"

"Don't worry, soon you'll be admiral. You just need to persevere a little longer."

"Yes sir" Percy said slowly as if he was sighing loudly.

The den den mushi hung up and he stared at his second in command.

"Orange, get ready. We got another mission to complete."

"I hope it will be fun!" Orange said in high spirits.

"Probably not, we have to escort a noble to Mary Geoise for the Levely."

"Levely?" Orange asked confused. "What's that?"

"You don't know?"

"Nope. Didn't pay too much attention during the lectures at Marineford. I was too focused on getting stronger and proving my worth than history lessons."

"Hah... listen Orange this is important." Percy looked into Orange's eyes as he started, "The Levely is where 50 kings and queens from all over the world meet and discuss world events and make plans for the future. Their decisions can affect the very world itself."

"Oh... so they're like really influential."

"That's right. Our mission is to escort one of its newest members to Mary Geoise, the king of Jambalaya."

"Ok" Orange said as she was thinking out loud. "At least we get to do something, I was getting bored training all day and night."

"Perhaps" Percy said as he was thinking about the world nobles, "this should be an easy escort job."

"You are?" The guards at the dock asked as Percy and Orange got off the marine battleship.

"Vice admiral Percy and commodore Orange here to escort King Sauce" Percy said as he stared at the two men.

"I'll let my king know" one of them said as he took out his den den mushi and started to walk away.

Twenty minutes later, a group of elegant looking men and women were walking towards Percy and Orange and were taking their time.

Orange had an annoyed look on her face but it quickly disappeared after Percy nudged her with his elbow.

"You must be vice admiral Percy" a tall man said with a crown on his head, "I'm king Sauce"

"Hello your majesty" Percy said with a fake smile on his face, "this is my subordinate, Orange"

The king glanced at her and looked away as if dismissing her. "I assume that we can leave immediately?"

"Yes sir, as soon as your luggage gets loaded we'll head out." Percy said as he looked at his soldiers finishing loading the suitcases onto the ship.

"Excellent. I'm new to this so I'll rely on you to inform me of what's going on before we reach Mary Geoise" Sauce said as he looked at the young vice admiral.

It's been 5 days since they left the Jambalaya kingdom, the king and his companions mainly kept to themselves discussing what they want to do when they get to the fabled city.

Percy and Orange were still practicing even though they were on a mission. "It never hurts to get stronger" Percy said as he started his routine.

"Unless Garp's the one doing it" mumbled Orange under her breadth.

They reached the Red Line and Percy called for King Sauce.

"Sir, when we get to the Red Line, guards will be waiting at the elevator to escort us up."

"Your not going to escort me anymore?" Sauce asked as confusion was written all over his face.

"I will be, but the guards are in charge of operating the elevator. My main duty is to protect you to and from the Levely."

"I see, and what is this elevator?"

"It's a device that allows us to rise in the air. It uses machinery to carry personnel up to Mary Geoise."

"I see, that's quite the spectacle."

As the marine ship arrived at the base of the elevator, people started to rush towards the ship shouting

"I wonder who it is this time?"

"No idea, but if I can see Queen Mororon, I can die a happy man."

King Sauce looked at the crowd and was excited, "Hurry up and dock! I need to impress everyone here."

The vice admiral nodded and the boat quickly docked in the harbor. Sauce then jumped off with his entourage,

"?" the crowd was confused. They never met that person before and didn't know who it was.

"My name is King Sauce," the king started as the crowd watched him "And I am the newest member of the world council!"

The crowd was silent before they started to cheer, "Sauce-sama, Sauce-sama" they exclaimed as the king walked forward.

Percy took the lead in front of the king while Orange was behind. The crowd made way as the vice admiral walked towards the elevator.

When they got near, a guard stopped them before they could get on

"Are you King Sauce-sama?" he said as he was looking up names on his list.

"Yes I am." the king said with a puffed out chest.

"And you are vice admiral Percy, is that correct?" the guard turned to Percy and asked.

He nodded his head once and got the same nod back.

"Right this way your majesty" the guard gestured towards the contraption attached to two wires going into the sky. "And welcome to Mary Geoise."
