After the disappointment of day two, little Mara is still reading books at the second level...
Having learned her lesson from seeing the title on the cover, the first thing she read was...
[ The story that many might know... But dare not tell. ]
Supernatural beings have no way of communicating with each other, but the only ones who can have a friendly relationship are Vampires since their mates can be members of any race or clan.
Although, in the eyes of the Lycans and Elves, who have had a less friendly relationship with the other races, they did not highly see it, being a Vampire mate.
Both creatures being beings with extreme pride, which runs through their veins, feel that they are far above all others.
The Lycan Monarch reached his position due to his proven strength in front of everyone and defeating the best werewolf of the pack, since then, they voted to make him the leader of the Lycan Clan, so when the Vampires search for their mate, the Lycans are out of their leagues.
There were many occasions in which several Vampires could find their partner to be werewolves; the lycan, however, did not submit to them, going to the extreme to commit suicide instead of hurting their own pride. But that's not all. Vampires reached a point where they had to kidnap their partners in order to conceive offspring.
The body of the Vampires has been a mystery for many. It may look like the body of a dead man, but that they can have offspring is a 'miracle', as stipulated by others.
Because of these conflicts between the two clans, a line of love and hate developed, because the physical and mental strength of the Lycans can be comparable to that of a high-level Vampire.
Though the Vampires genes are stronger than any other gene among supernatural creatures. There is one exception, the Lycans.
Lycans have the dominant gene in any creature, however, it is unknown who would be the dominant gene within the copulation between a Vampire and a Lycan.
But when one Supreme Leader and a Monarch discovered themselves to be the mate of the other, their hate and narrow-minded members recognized their union, only to fall under the clutches of hate, once again.
Traitors destroyed the only wedding that could unite both Clans within the same clan and other creatures, taking part in the same scheme.
The strange thing is, when the mate is a Vampire, the offspring is born as a Vampire. No one knows the reason; they don't even bother to investigate or ask about it.
Vampires also kidnapped Fairies, Elves, Demons, and Humans. But only with the excuse of being the mate. Not subjecting them to any torture or anything like that, once they achieve the task, breeding a Vampire offspring, they're giving two options to their partner, stay with them in the vampire territory along with their offspring or return to their respective territory.
Having the freedom to choose, none of them returned, because of the fear of being looked down upon within the same clan, to be humiliated or even worst... Exiled.
Fairies, Elves, and Forest Spirits do not leave their territory much unless it is a tournament held every five hundred years.
The tournament has only one purpose, to exist in 'harmony', which has never existed within the supernatural world.
.....
Little Mara could find something that caught her attention, and her search for a book that would explain more about it began until she came across a dark purple book.
[ The Tournament Between Clans ]
We divide the tournament into two segments; Interim and General.
INTERIM TOURNAMENT comprises competitions within the same clan members.
They can hold these within their own territories or within the territory in which they hold the General Tournament.
Here they select the best 10 in each Clan, 'Warriors', 'Seekers', and 'Opportunists' of each clan. It involves various forms of fighting, such as physical, mental, and emotional.
Physicists such as Lycans and Werewolves, along with Vampires. Called 'Warriors'.
Mental such as Fairies and Forest Spirits, as well as Elves. Receiving the name of 'Seekers'.
As for emotions, they try to stimulate the negative disturbances in the opponent, to look for a weak point. These're called 'Opportunists'.
GENERAL TOURNAMENT, in this tournament all the clans face each other, the members of each Clan that won in the Interim Tournament are brought in front of the rest of the Clans.
Normally, this tournament befalls in the different territories, which take turns every five hundred years.
At the beginning of the tournament, they held it in the winner's territory, or the strongest Clan of the rest, but because of many factors that happened over the millennia, the leaders decided not to do it that way, but to rotate the location.
For this, each territory has a stadium with several arenas, in which several battles take place at the same time.
But that's not all, depending on the rules established by the Leaders, Chief, Mother, Acting King, etc., the tournament always has a winner per clan, and this one may enter any territory of his choice, either to live together or to learn from the other.
At this tournament, the Forest Spirits look for their contractual partner, if they find them, it is excellent, if they do not, they see it to spend their time, although they do nothing in their territory but sleep all year.
The proudest creatures such as the Elves, who look down on not only humans, but the rest of the supernatural world except for the Forest Spirits and a slight harmony, they share with the Fairies, do not like to be part of the second tournament, because they must be in contact with the brutish Wolf, or the filthy Vampires.
Even though the Clan's members may hate, curse each other, they embedded respect for the Leaders of each Clan in their bones. No one can be disrespectful to the Leader of another Clan. It has always been the rule of the supernatural world.
They discussed the rules of the tournament a week prior to the start of the tournament. The Leaders of each Clan have the stipulated time to draw up a set of rules, but a few rules have remained, changed, or established.
The first rule is the one that everyone finds fair. The respective Clan Leaders may not take part. As well as not killing the opponent during tournament battles.
Basic rules for the use of external help other than those stipulated by themselves, nobody finds them unfair, because each Clan sees the interests not only their own but the general ones as well.
"Phew..."
Heinrich and the Guardian watched as the little girl closed the book she was most interested in, and saw her eyes filled with the fighting spirit, passionate.
"This tournament looks interesting, living together in other territories, I'd like to see what will happen if I get to take part in that--"
But before she finished speaking, Heinrich, who threw a bucket of ice water with his words interrupted her.
"But Clan Leaders can't take part, that's an unbreakable rule..."
The little girl slid off the chair and fell to the floor on her butt. With her shoulders slumped, her gaze lowered, her lips pressed into a thin line.
She, who is only seven years old, can look adorable with her flushed and puffy cheeks.
Heinrich felt uncomfortable seeing her like that and felt he should say something, but the Guardian beat him to it.
Using the moment to show himself in front of her.
Upon seeing her, the Guardian half knelt down in front of her and pinched her cheeks. YES, he pinched them. Lifting her chin with a single finger, the Guardian showed her warmth through his eyes, which she felt.
Seeing that his appearance was changing which she ignored how attractive he is, worse to describe beauty, which for her age is not something of value.
"No need to worry about it, it's still a hundred years before it's held again, and this year it's held in Lycan territory, so you can travel out of our territory, besides that, with your age it's possible that you can take part if there comes to be a rule that the third type of tournament can carry out among the Leaders, it could be your best chance, you just have to get stronger in the meantime..."
The Guardian's consolation, made little Mara's spirits return to her, and in her eyes, a fervor arose. The instinct to become strong was born at that moment.
Years later, when the Guardian remembers what he said to her at this moment, she won't know whether to laugh or cry, the reason for his heartwarming words is only so that she wouldn't feel bad, not so that she would go out and venture into unknown territories trying to become stronger, defeating the bad guys.
"Also, I have some questions about, 'Warriors', 'Seekers', and 'Opportunists'. How do they know it?" Little Mara forgot her previous feelings and wanted to know more about the tournament. But it's bound to her to not know more for the time being.
"That only can know when the tournament starts, and the players go up..." answered the Guardian with patience and care.
