Spirit Beast Summoning.

A few minutes of walking, Ira arrived at his destination. It was an open area, this was where the physical education class will be held.

There was no one here, he had arrived twelve whole minutes earlier than the scheduled time.

Seeing no one here and finding he had nothing to do right now, he thought of waiting for everyone and the teacher to arrive.

Just then, his eyes saw something. It was some racks. The racks held many different types of weapons meant for training, none of it seemed real to him although he had never seen a real weapon in his entire life except knifes. Well, the thought that none of them were real came to him because of intuition, it was nothing more than intuition.

And the fact that the academy won't give real weapons to children who have just started learning.

He was standing in front of the racks, thinking which weapon to use. He couldn't decide.

'Should I take the sword, it looked cool when Mira used it to slice the dummy.' He thought. And imagined himself using it. He imagined himself slicing monsters with it, but then suddenly the sword got stuck in the monsters body and wouldn't come out, and the monster getting a chance to attack, attacked him. And his imagination ended there.

'Nah, just because of that I shouldn't choose it. It's gonna decide my whole future. Then what about the spear, it has long reach and all, it is a safe one.' He thought. He imagined himself using it. This time he was stabbing the monsters and suddenly when he was going to stab a monster, the monster grabbed the tip and pulled him towards itself and pushed him in the gut. He shuddered imagining it and ended the imagination.

'Nope, not this either. Then, the maces?" He thought and imagined himself using it to crush the monsters skills. This time nothing happened and he was easily crushing monster heads.

"Nope, no this either. I don't want monster blood on me." He spoke and saw that there were bows there too.

He then imagined himself using the bow to kill the monster but suddenly he ran out of arrows. And then the monsters found him.

"Well, I would choose the bow, if I ran out of arrows, I could just use arrows made out of mana or elements." He spoke.

He then noticed that all of his classmates and were staring at him with weird expressions on their faces. Well, they saw him talking to himself, so what can he say.

Then a few seconds later, someone came.

He was handsome and tall, had well defined muscles, he seemed to be in his forties. He had Ash grey hair and blue eyes.

"Hello, everyone. I'm Aschel Verm, an AA rank weapon artist. Your weapon arts and physical education instructor." He spoke.

Everyone was surprised to find out that he was Aschel Verm. This man was famous throughout the continent. He had subjugated two A rank and one AA rank gate alone. And is rumoured to have also killed a dragon.

"Now, let's start the class. You have ten minutes to choose a weapon from those wracks." He said.

Ira, just as he had thought, took the bow. He saw that both Bronach and Aria had taken a weapon. He was surprised but quickly shaked that off. Bronach chose knuckles and Aria chose a double edged sword.

Ten minutes passed.

"If you all have chosen your weapons, then come here. And those who only know magic, you can just watch and learn." He said.

"First, you come and attack that dummy." He said pointing towards Ira.

Ira came forward. He made distance between the dummy and himself. The dummy was about thirty meters away from him. He loaded his bow with the arrow and shot it, the arrow pierced the targets heads.

He then backed off. It was now Bronach's turn, he destroyed the dummy with his punches. 

It was now Aria's turn. He sliced the dummy in five pieces.

And about thirty minutes later, everyone demonstrated their skills. Of the twenty-one students, there were ten non mages and three multi-talented individuals, namely Bronach, Aria and Ira.

"Good job, everyone. You all have quite an exceptional skill. I'm impressed." He said.

"Now, the class ends here. Everyone you are free to do whatever you want before your next class starts." He said.

The next class will start ten minutes later, so what can they do in that short amount of time. They began walking to the place where the next class will be held.

Five minutes later, they arrived at the location. It was a huge plain of grass, it was known as the great grass plains. Soft and fresh breeze was blowing. The plain was beautiful and refreshing to eye.

"You all are early for the class. I assume you are all eager to take this class." An old man said.

"Okay, if you are all eager for this class, then let's start the class." He said.

"Umm, teacher, won't you tell us your name?" Someone from the group asked.

"Hohoho, what would do by knowing my name. Just know that I'm your summoning instructor." He said.

"Let's start the class now. Shall we." He said.

"Today's class is summoning class and by that I mean spirit beast summoning, not spirit summoning." He said.

"Don't confuse spirit beasts from normal spirits. While spirits have a ruler which they are loyal to, the spirit beasts are independent beings. Although they live in the same realm as the spirits they are independent beings as I've mentioned before." He spoke.

"I hope you've all understood what I've said." He said. To which everyone nodded their heads.

"Now let's come to the topic of spirit realms. You see, there's not only one spirit realm, there are multiple of it." He said.

"Multiple? I thought there was only one spirit realm, and all of the spirits come from that realm." Someone asked.

"Well, you are right in a way. There are no more a hundred humans who can summon spirits and there's even less who can summon spirits beast. Because of this reason, not many people know about the existence of different spirit realms, and in some place like small nations aren't even aware of it's existence." He said.

"Coming back to the topic, as I said before there are multiple spirit realms. And each realm is dedicated to an element like for example, spirits and spirit beasts of fire come from the realm of fire, and of ice come from the frozen realm and like I said each spirit realm is dedicated to an element." He said.

"But there are exceptions, there are realms where spirit who can use multiple elements live, those realm are called special realm and mostly spirit beasts live there." He said.

"Now should start the main thing, the thing that this class is mostly meant for. Let's start the summoning process. So, who wants to be first." He said. Someone raised his hands, it was Ray.

"Then come here and place your hands on that crystal and release your mana in it." He said point towards a boulder like crystal stone. It was a spirit medium stone which extremely hard to get and can only be found in S rank or above gates.

"And one more thing, don't be discouraged if nothing happens. As you know, there are no more than two hundred people as of now who can summon spirits and spirit beasts. And another thing, you can also summon spirits through this. Now, you can start." He said.

Ray placed his hands on the stone and put his mana into the stone and for one whole minutes nothing happened.

"You can go back now, and don't be discouraged." He said.

Next Mira came forward, and she couldn't summon anything either.

Then, Illiana came forward and nothing got summoned by her either.

Forty minutes passed and no one was able to summon anything, only three were remaining who were Bronach, Aria and Ira.

Bronach came forward and put his hands on the stone and released his mana into it. And suddenly the surroundings started to darken and a huge dark portal opened up in the sky.

Seeing this the students started to panick and the teacher too was bewildered seeing this, he had never seen something like this ever happening when summoning spirit beasts.

Sensing the presence of the portal, the dean and their homeroom teacher along all the other academy instructors came running to the great grass plains.

"What is happening?" Kira Inava, their home room teacher said.

"Isn't th-that a SS rank gate." She said, fear was evident on her face.

"Everyone, evacuate the children, first." She said to all the instructors. Most of them were S ranks and a few in SS rank and the dean was the only SSS rankers here.

"Wait, that's not gate. It's a portal, a spirit portal. Someone summoned a highest rank spirit here." She said. She could sense that because she had met some spirit summoners before and spirits along with spiritual beasts have a unique presence to them, plus she is a SSS rank individual so she could tell that even if she hadn't met them as gates have a different energy.

Anyone at and above SS rank could tell the difference. Only S rankers panicked seeing this.
