Chapter 1"You're dismissed."

Yuno walks into the school halls holding the 6 months old baby heading straight to the principal's office. She opens the door and slowly sits down.

Kai observes as his sister smiles and politely greets the teachers in the room before turning his attention to the school principle who just let out a heavy sigh as he's about to speak.

"Miss Lin, I hope you're aware that this is the third time your brother has been brought in here this week for getting in a fight. This calls for an immediate suspension."

Kai hangs his head in shame knowing the teachers are going to blame his sister for his behaviour, or worse threaten her with the whole separation and social workers line again.

Yuno nods in understanding, "I hope you're aware that these boys have been bullying my brother for three whole years and all of you turned a blind eye.

"He finally punches back, and now you want to act like professionals spewing all this nonsense at me? I think not." She glares at the crowd of teachers shifting the baby in her arms to hold him more comfortably.

Kai looks up surprised as everyone else in the room.

The baby adds his own comment babbling and Yuno nods in agreement, "You, tell em Bob."

Kai smiles at the stupid nickname Yuno gave to Hitori.

She holds her head high ready to tell the teachers exactly what she's thinking, "You all were happy ignoring my brother getting bullied for all those years, now it's his turn and you will continue to happily turn a blind eye."

She turns and looks at Kai, "Whoop their asses again tomorrow, and the day after that, and the one after that one until you're satisfied. You're leaving this crappy school by the end of the school year anyway."

She stands up flicking his forehead with a gentle smile on her face to ease her brothers anxiety, "If I get fired I'm prostituting you and selling your testicles."

Kai stiffens watching her open the door leaving, that did not go the way he expected, his sister never ceases to amaze him, the teachers don't even know what to say. She's not wrong.

Yuno goes back to her shopping grateful Kai got in trouble on her day off, her boss is not a man to trifle with she would've been in a lot of trouble for leaving work for the third time in a row this week.

"Wow, that is one cute little baby, is it a boy or a girl?" A random woman comments as she passes by since Hitori would not stop smiling at her as she was walking by.

"It's a boy, his name is Bob, right Bobo?" She pokes his chubby cheeks and Tori pokes his cheeks too smiling.

After the shopping she gets in the car and drives back to work parking at her designated spot.

She works at a hotel, but this is no ordinary hotel, only the richest men and women can afford this place.

She's only here to drop off a few things and deliver a package for Miss Sensen - the head house keeper, who called and asked her to pick up a package for her while she was shopping.

Yuno walks to her room dropping off the new clothes, snacks, as well as baby food and toys.

She grabs Miss Sensen's package and drops it off before going to her old house to pack in the groceries for her brother and clean up the place while Tori keeps her company having a very interesting conversation that Yuno decided is about a space invasion.

Kai arrives home after school surprised Yuno is still here Vacuuming the carpet, "I was going to do that tomorrow." He announces as he walks into the living room.

Yuno turns around and pinches his cheeks, "Sorry, but there's a last minute change of plans. Tomorrow you have to go to the Tachibana Palace there's an event happening there and I heard most of the Roman High students will be attending.

"I got you a ticket and a seat, figured next year you wouldn't want to feel awkward only making friends then."

Kai scowls, "My grades this year are really bad, It's hard doing this without Mitsuko's extra lessons, and the Karmic classes got a little harder, it's difficult keeping up with two schools at the same time."

Yuno nods along with her backed turned from Kai as she continues with her cleaning completing missing the worried expression on Kai's face, "Exactly, so I need you to promise me that you won't get there and pretend to be someone you're not.

"I've been saving up for three years, plus if you do well enough there you can get a full year or half year scholarship that will pay for your fees and accommodation.

"I'm willing to pay for your first year if you're willing to meet me half way and work for that scholarship to stay at that school. I know you can do it." Yuno takes the food out of the microwave and sits down feeding Tori.

Kai puts everything back in the closet and sits down with his sister, it's been a while since she could come home and spend time with him he appreciates that every day off she comes by to see him.

He also wants to bring up the fact that Tachibana will pay for everything she's so obsessively stressing about, but considering that his sister is still in denial of her feelings for the guy, he'll just keep it to himself.

"What should I wear tomorrow?"

"I did shopping for you, you'll decide tomorrow plus I got a surprise for you though it's more of a surprise from Bino than from me, as a job well done on your bike lessons."

Kai stands up staring Yuno right in the eyes in disbelief, "He actually got me the red dragon? No way!" He sprints straight to the garage excited and opens the door to find a red tricycle in the middle of the big open space.

"Yuno?! Someone stole my bike." He yells with a single tear running down his cheek.

"It's not here you idiot, obviously someone would steal it. You'll get it from Bino tomorrow! Don't be late. The event starts at 10AM."

They talk before Yuno goes back to the hotel flopping on her bed watching Tori on his stomach too lazy to crawl, "Don't be such a lazy ass and start crawling already." She narrows her eyes at the baby boy struggling to move.

Mr Tachibana on the other side of the door chuckles when the baby cries while he strolls downstairs to the lobby looking around the room.

The main hall will be filled with annoying middle schoolers and high schoolers and he seriously hates having kids in his hotel.

"Sir, is there anything else you'd like us to order in advance?" Mitsuko, the head of staff at the Tachibana Palace asks.

Mr Tachibana rolls his eyes, "Every time children walk into my Palace I have to repair everything from scratch, so let's wait for tomorrows event to be over than we can talk about remodelling and the interior design."

"Yes sir."

"And please make a call to Mr Roman and double check what exactly he wanted. This event must be perfect."

"Yes sir."

Tachibana double checks that everything for the event tomorrow is in order before going to his office looking over the paper work for the second Tachibana Palace in progress.

This first Palace was just a trial run more so than an actual business idea, he's pleased to see it working out so well for him, and now an extension is needed.

Yuno wakes up and gets ready for another busy day. She watches Tori sleep before putting on her watch that is linked to the baby monitor in her room.

With this, she could be busy all day as well as baby sit Hitori from the time he was only three days old, but she mainly got help from Miss Sensen.

Now she's got this whole routine worked out pretty nicely and always wakes up earlier than everyone else to make sure she can get her job done, as well as still be there for Tori when he starts acting up.

Luckily he's just a loud baby and not a cry baby. His constant babbling is something Yuno enjoys.

She dusts the room up and makes sure it's spotless.

Mr Tachibana walks into the room and notices it's cleaner than it was before.

Yuno is lowkey a germophobe and when it comes to being clean and leaving a room spotless you can always count on her to have the time and energy to do so.

She takes a break to check on Tori to find him on his his stomach again, so she takes the pillows barricading him in a circle full of toys so he can get used to sitting up.

She double checks if there are no small objects he can choke on and pecks his forehead getting him something to eat, waiting for a moment watching him figure out what's going on around him.

When he's tired of sitting up and falls to his side she laughs picking him up for breakfast and a bath before dressing him up in a cute suit and tie, clipping his nails and adding nail polish.

Let's face it, baby nails are the Devil. Those things will make you go from, Aww what a cutey to Ahh WTF.

Her timer goes off and her Tori-break is done. She takes the baby downstairs and lets him play around by himself while she dusts up the main hall and scrubs the stubborn stains away, refiling the sanitiser boxes, and spraying her special made air freshener that lasts for hours.

"I've been wondering what's that unique sweet scent that most of my guests have been curious about, you make that yourself?"

Yuno turns around and Mr Tachibana is holding the baby up, but at an awkward distance from himself, however Hitori couldn't be bothered about the random red head staring at him.

Mr Tachibana has been observing Yuno since Hitori was born, she has been lying to him about not having an ability but he swore that once he has hardcore evidence he will confront her about it.

That's what he did a few days ago but she still insists on lying, but he finally has the evidence he needs to catch her right in the lie, he's just pissed off she insists on not trusting him even after everything they have been through

She came here at the age of 18 after her parents died and 2 years later her sister just up and ditches her 3-day old baby in Yuno's care and hasn't been heard from since.

Yuno is really good with kids and most of the time knows how to deal with the difficult ones that roam around the Palace.

Which is why Mr Tachibana keeps her around even though he swore that when he finds out she's lying about her ability he will fire her.

"Uhm, yeah, it's made out of the left over soaps and sanitisers, instead of wasting them I figured I could recycle and re-use them. I worked at a perfume factory before coming here and we practically have the tools needed to make these.

"I sometimes spend my day offs making them though they never seem to smell the same, sometimes it's stronger and sometimes it's weak." She grabs the cleaning appliances and moves on to the next room.

Tori brushes a hand over Tachibana's face before he starts fiddling with the red-heads shirt button.

Hitori's in a cute suit and tie of his own, but he's more interested in Tachibana's.

"I hate kids." The male mutters to himself.

"They hate you too except for him though."

Mr Tachibana turns around tracking the sound of Yuno's voice.

Yuno sprays water in his face, "That is not a kid that's Bobo, a genius alien with the cure for every disease known to man." She adds pecking the baby on the cheek as she walks past him.

Tori's eyes follow her every move before he turns his head and blinks back at Tachibana.

"You do realise I can fire you for that?" Mr Tachibana threatens with a smirk on his face

"You can, but you won't because you've had a bonding experience with Bobo."

"What? The baby? I will fire him too."

"He works for free. Always making your guests oohh and aww. He deserves a pay raise, being that cute is not cheap, right buddy?" Yuno tickles the baby and he coo's in laughter.

Mr Tachibana watches her leave him with the baby. He puts the baby back down on his stomach watching him struggle to crawl till he gets it right but lies down on his stomach after a few steps.

"Is it just me, or is someone thinking of having kids." A raspy female voice asks with a slight mock in the tone

He turns around and glares at the old woman.

The old lady whacks him on the side of the head with a feather duster, "Is that anyway to treat an old lady?"

"I was thinking of finishing you off myself you old bag of bones."

She whacks him again and picks up the baby boy, "That silly Yuno, she shouldn't rush you to start crawling." She eyes Tachibana and he looks away infuriated.

What the old hag saying is absurd he doesn't want to have any kids, they are a distraction and he'd never have time for a child. He's too busy. Tachibana thinks to himself.

He walks into the next room and finds Yuno already polishing the statues, for some reason she likes doing weird jobs like this and it's little things like these statues that guests admire the most or that stand out when they first walk in.

He didn't even know that until she started polishing them every morning.

She groans in frustration and he cocks a brow, "From now on guests are only allowed to look at these statues and not touch, what the hell is this fricking sticky shit?"

The bucket of water behind her violently shakes for a moment and it stops abruptly almost like he just imagined it.

"Yuno, my office, now!"

Yuno tenses up at his tone and the way he's walking toward his office. She hurries along behind him and closes the door when she enters.

He sits on the side of his desk and eyes her up and down, "I know you have an ability and you have been lying to me about it from the very start.

"No matter how many times I present the proof you still choose to lie point blank in my face about it, I have never given you any reason to mistrust me, at this point I would assume you trust me."

"Yes, I do trust you." She gulps from the intensity of the look he is giving her, he's not wrong.

"Don't you think there's something you should tell me?"

"Sorry sir, I got fired at my last job when they found out and I really need this job. I was afraid I would get fired here too."

She takes a step back wishing she could retreat behind a wall and have this conversation without having to look him in the eyes, but if she doesn't he'll get pissed off.

They lock eyes and he looks away after a lingering moment thinking this over, as far as he's concerned she's an excellent employee and her ability shouldn't change who she is, besides he's more interested in what she can do.

"What is your ability?"

"Hydrokinetic regeneration."

His eyes widen, "Your brother? And Tori?"

"Kai, it's water manipulation. He can generate water from his own body as well. Tori is still too young to tell."

"Do refrain from keeping such information from me I should know these kinds of things."

"Yes sir."

"You're dismissed."

Fight, Flight, or Freeze: The Healer's Story

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wake up in a body that wasn't yours? A much, much younger body? I can't say that I had ever given it much thought. That was until one night when a patient entered the ER where I was working at and shot me point blank in the head. You know, if he wanted a second opinion, all he had to do was ask. But that's besides the point... Some how, some way, I work up in a strange hospital with a woman that looked suspiciously like my mother holding my hand and crying. Over joyed to see her, it took me a few minutes to realize that I was no longer the 25 year old, successful doctor at one of the most prestigious hospitals in the world. Nope, I was a 6 year old girl that for a moment... wanted her mother. When the apocalypse comes, it is everyone for themselves. I have three choices: do I fight for what I want? Will I run away and hide, or will I freeze when the demons of my past come back to haunt me? You might know me as the Healer, but this is my story to tell. ------ Fight, Flight, or Freeze is the second novel in the Rebirth in the Apocalypse series, this time featuring the Healer: Wang Tian Mu and her men. You won't have to read the first one to be able to understand this one, and she is not going to stay a child for the whole thing. Li Dai Lu and her guys will be popping in occasionally, but this is strictly Wang Tian Mu's story! I hope you enjoy! Apocalypse: Transmigrated with an Overlord System

Liora was a pampered royal princess, with loving parents at the forefront and eleven royal brothers at her back. Always adorned with the finest silk and served with exquisite dishes while lounging in her palace. Her biggest concerns? Which dress to wear for a banquet and how many more hours she could nap before her royal duties caught up to her. But fate (or some seriously bad karma) had other plans. One moment, she was sipping fine wine and but the next moment-boom!—she wakes up in a world where people are eating each other, the sky is covered with ominous veils that look like it wants to swallow the world, and worse, her royal status means absolutely nothing. What she can tell more about her poor condition is that she has no servants, no food, and no idea how to fight off the disgusting zombies, who are trying to take a bite out of her. Just when she’s ready to scream at the heavens for an explanation, a cold mechanical voice rings in her head: [Welcome, Host. You have activated the Overlord System.] Overlord? That sounds powerful, right? Wrong. Turns out, she starts at the bottom of the food chain with no powers, no weapons, and zombies that see her as their next snack. While others awaken abilities like fire manipulation or super strength, she gets... a system that gives missions with questionable rewards and always tries to drown her in a huge debt. Fight a Level 2 Zombie with her bare hands? Sure, why not? Survive hordes of zombies while the system nags her? Classic. But as she battles to level up and gathers allies (some willing, some just too scared to say no). She realizes—maybe she isn’t as weak as she thought. Because when the world falls into chaos, only the strongest can rule. And if the system insists on calling her an Overlord, well… she might as well live up to the name. Power, danger, and a system that may or may not be trying to get her killed—welcome to the apocalypse.
