Chapter 12. Re-Appearance

"Did you get Hulk's precise location yet?"

On the helicopter, General Ross frowned at the crowd below. People panicked because of the appearance of the green monster. He turned his head to his men and asked.

"According to the damaged streets he left behind and where the crowd is fleeing from, it looks like he's heading towards the Empire State Building."

"Stop him, don't let him advance any further. Fire rockets at him if necessary."

"But, General, there are ordinary civilians down there!" The subordinate's face paled, and he couldn't help but speak out.

"This is an order, soldier!" Without hesitation, General Ross interrupted his subordinates' words. With a straight face and a tough tone, he said, "Our first mission is to capture Hulk. In order to accomplish that, necessary sacrifices are allowed. Not to mention it was the Hulk that caused all the chaos in front of us now."

A hardliner in the military, General Ross had dedicated his life to creating a super soldier similar to Captain America during World War II. Hulk was an accidental and powerful monster born out of this cause, as well as being the closest thing to a success story in General Ross's hands so far.

Therefore, it was absolutely impossible for him to give it up now.

Driven by his anger, Hulk kept going like a furious beast.

Everywhere he went, the wreckage was scattered as if it had been through a war.

Smashing the cars in his way into a mass of scrap metal with his hands, Hulk stood up, pounding his chest and letting out a loud roar at the armed helicopters that continued to fly around him. Although the transformed Hulk had lost the intelligence that Dr. Banner had, he was able to sense, with his beastly instincts, that the lump of iron hovering overhead posed a threat to him.

'Hulk, don't like the feeling of threats!'

After the roar of anger, Hulk pounded his hands on the ground, smashing holes of different sizes on the concrete.

Then, his fingers exerted force and actually grabbed a huge concrete block and threw it at the helicopter in mid-air.

"Heads up! Climb, evade, climb!"

Faced with the whizzing stones, the experienced pilot evaded.

In mid-air, deprived of the force of inertia, the stones started to rapidly descend.

And the spot where it fell was a place where many people were gathered.

"Get out of the way!"

"Look out!

With a shout from someone, the crowd began to scatter in a panic, but there were still some slower or less reactive citizens who stood still and couldn't take cover.

As they watched, a tragedy was about to unfold.

"Oh, no ...!"

"Oh my God!"

Many people subconsciously closed their eyes or covered their mouths, not wanting to see the bloody scene that would ensue before them.

"Whoops! Who would be so reckless to throw such big stones on the road? "

However, the expected tragedy didn't happen.

A figure rushed out of the crowd and directly redirected the falling stone with his legs, sending it flying into a coffee shop at the side.

Although this was still a tragedy for the owner of the empty coffee shop, it was much better than what could have happened.

"Who is that!?"

"Dude, you are so cool!"

"I can't believe he kicked away such a big stone with a single kick."

"Could it be the same superhero that appeared in Hell's Kitchen!?"

"It's the legendary kung fu!"

Glancing down at what was displayed on the system data panel, Ryan moved his right leg without a sound to avoid giving away the irregularity in his foot. Although he managed to change the direction of the falling stone, it didn't mean that Ryan was unharmed. Although Mighty Steel Leg was powerful, it was only a kung fu skill belonging to a D-level character card and not a truly invincible Mighty Steel Leg.

Standing in the crowd, Ryan was gaining a lot of reputation points from New York citizens while easing the injury on his foot.

Once he felt the situation on his feet had subsided, he no longer stayed and ran towards the direction the stone had come from, where the Hulk was.

The reason Ryan reappeared as Ah Xing to the people of New York was not simply to save the day but actually to get the Hulk.

As the most famous green giant in Marvel, and a future member of the Avengers, Ryan would definitely be able to gain a lot of reputation points.

"General, someone is heading towards the Hulk."

In the helicopter, a soldier noticed and immediately reported the situation.

"Who is it?"

In an instant, General Ross thought of a number of possible individuals, including S.H.I.E.L.D. agents whom he disliked the most.

However, the answer given by the soldier wasn't any of the ones General Ross had in mind.

"Not sure. The guy is moving fast, but from the way he's dressed, he might be a regular citizen or possibly a homeless person."

"Homeless?" General Ross frowned. Naturally, he couldn't imagine that an ordinary homeless man would appear on the scene at this time.

Reaching for the military binoculars in the soldier's hand, General Ross looked down from the helicopter and soon noticed the plainly dressed man in the red sweatshirt below.

Although the man's attire was plain, the speed at which he moved was definitely not simple.

'Who the hell is that?'

On the helicopter, General Ross still had a lot of speculation in his mind over Ryan's sudden appearance.

Below, in front of the streets of New York, Ryan had seen the Hulk, who was constantly roaring and yelling, venting his anger and destroying everything around him.

Observing quietly from a distance, Ryan gained a new understanding of the Hulk's power at the moment.

Obviously, not something that the current him was capable of fighting against.

The power of the Mighty Steel Leg, while capable of enabling Ryan to kick a car, or send a strong adult man flying, was definitely incapable of crumpling a small car like Play-Doh with the ease as the Hulk had done.

Subconsciously, his heart ached for the owner of the car. Ryan was careful to avoid the Hulk's enraged sights and hid at the back of a building.

All jokes aside, Ryan ran with the idea of swiping reputation points from the Hulk but was not foolish enough to rush over to Hulk's side and get killed. He took note of the military's movements. They clearly looked as if they were planning to launch a big move.

Ryan intended to wait until the Hulk and the military were almost done fighting before he stepped in to fish in troubled waters.

To minimise the level of immediate danger.
