13 Chapter 13. Encounter

Ryan had a good idea, but he ignored the fact that General Ross, who was in the helicopter, was never going to ignore such an unstable element as the Hulk.

"First assault team, engage," General Ross ordered the soldiers below. "Search for the previous intruder. Shoot-to-kill if necessary."

With General Ross's orders, several well-equipped soldiers stepped up and carefully searched the area.

Because of Hulk's destruction, the entire street was filled with countless debris. The surrounding rubble brought a certain degree of difficulty to the assault team's search. Emil's gaze shifted from a piece of wreckage that resembled the shell of a car. The large handprints left on the car wreckage struck fear into the heart of the battle-hardened veteran. He clearly knew that what he had to face next was a much more fearsome opponent than a gun battle.

"200 meters ahead, suspected target!"

The sound coming from his helmet radio brought Emil back to his senses. He quickly collected his thoughts and looked in the direction of his target. He soon saw a red figure hiding at the back of a building.

The martial artist's intuition from the card vaguely alerted Ryan to the prying eyes of the assault team.

Following his intuition, he looked up just in time to see the members of the assault team sneakily approaching him.

Looking at the well-equipped appearance of the team, Ryan's heart jumped. However, on the surface, he wore an innocent look, "If I say that everything is just a misunderstanding, I wonder if ..."

"Open fire!"

Bang bang bang bang bang bang—

'Holy shit!'

Faced with an unannounced barrage of gunfire, Ryan's face turned pale as he stomped down hard. Leaving a shallow crack in the ground, he then dove to the side.

Ryan rolled over to release the force from his body and looked back to see that the spot where he had been standing was reduced to a beehive by the soldiers of the assault team.

If he hadn't reacted quickly enough, those bullets would have struck his body!

Thinking of that possibility, Ryan's expression was somewhat horrified, followed by burning anger.

Obviously, from the attitude of the assault team, it could be seen that the military had no intention of leaving survivors alive.

Figuring that out, Ryan had no intention of pulling any punches.

From the present situation, it could be seen that if he stayed his hand, Ryan would probably be the next thing riddled with bullets.

"Watch for evasion. We didn't hit the target."

Emil followed the tactical instructions and hid behind a car, changing magazines while his mind kept wandering back to Ryan's previous actions. If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he wouldn't have believed that a human being could be fast enough to dodge a bullet.

Boom--

In the distance, Hulk was still venting his anger.

Just one street away, in the wreckage of a building, an apparently unequal battle was also going on.

It was clear from the brief encounter earlier that the members of the assault team, all of whom were highly trained soldiers, possessed an extremely high level of tactical expertise. In a head-to-head fight, even ten Ryans might not be able to defeat them.

So, the battle at hand was not just a mere encounter. Ryan wasn't just an ordinary man with no ability to fight back.

Since each one of them was hiding with no intention of coming out, he had to make some effort to help them come out.

"The target seems to have some sort of hyper-reactivity, wait for the ..."

Bang --

Thanks to the radio function of their tactical helmets, the members of the assault team were able to maintain smooth communication.

Emil was making tactical arrangements over the radio.

Then, with a sharp, loud bang...

Emil's heart tightened, and he felt uneasy, hastily shouting into his helmet radio, "Everyone, headcount, now!"

The rest of the soldiers were somewhat aware of something and quickly counted out.

"One."

"Two."

  ...

"Six."

Emil: "7!"

When his order was finally completed, Emil's expression didn't get any better but rather turned a few shades gloomier. There were eight members of the assault team, and the fact that only seven reported back meant that something had happened to one of them.

"Who's missing?"

"It's Jay, I didn't hear his voice."

"Damn it, what happened?!"

"I don't know, I only heard a loud noise, and then ..."

Bang --

On the radio, the voice of the members of the assault team hadn't stopped yet.

But, there was another loud noise.

"Edward, Edward!"

"..."

On the other end of the radio, Emil's expression was grim. As a combat veteran, he had sensed that what had happened to the members of the assault team was clearly related to the man they had shot at and attacked earlier.

However, Emil was still at a loss as to how the other party had managed to overpower the team members one by one.

In any case, they couldn't let the other party continue like this.

With his mind made up, Emil immediately radioed to the remaining members of the assault team, "Team, prepare for a frontal assault. One, two, three, go go go!"

Under Emil's orders, the soldiers who had been hiding nearby quickly got up with their weapons in hand.

And it was at this moment that Emil finally got a good look at his opponent's attack.

For a moment, even this war veteran couldn't help but feel a little stunned.

"Eat this, Mighty Coke Kick!!"

Having succeeded in drawing out the hidden members of the assault team, Ryan's mind was settled, but his feet didn't slow down at all. He kicked the can of Coke in front of him with a powerful blow.

Bang --

With a familiar loud bang, the Coke can directly flew toward a member of the assault team in the distance.

That's right, the attack method Ryan used to destroy the members of the assault team one by one was nothing more than kicking the cans of Coca-Cola at his feet from the broken vending machine.

These cans of Coke might not look like much, but when combined with Ryan's powerful kicks, they transformed into improvised cannonballs. They smashed the members of the assault team, sending them flying into the air with their equipment and their bulletproof armor. There was no way to counteract the powerful force from the Mighty Steel Leg.

In mid-air, the brownish-black liquid was sprayed everywhere.

The scene was very chaotic.
