Chapter 5

Seoul, South Korea, inside the C-rank dungeon

Kade has been walking deeper into the dungeon for a few minutes and he has yet to counter the monster from this dungeon, which if he wasn't wrong it should be spiders

'If I'm not wrong I should be getting some kind of poison abilities from this dungeon, that would be great, it'll be more convenient dealing with a large number of enemies then'

As he was pondering about the abilities he would get from here, he heard a large number of small monsters coming his way

And it didn't take long before he saw hundreds of spiders coming his way with their teeth bare

Kade didn't wait for them to get close as he transformed both his upper limbs into a large black hammer, even bigger than his own body

The next scene was a bit weird to look at as a single human with hammer bigger than his own body as his arms smashing dozens of spiders with every strike, but what's weirder is the black biomass coming out of his body absorbing every spider that was killed during the fight

It did not take long for him to finish all of the small spiders as before he knew it there was no more to kill, not even a speck of hair was left on the scene due to his biomass consuming everything on his path

While he was fighting he noticed that after the ten or so spiders he killed he stopped getting an upgrade on his physical properties whereas his mana continued to expand due to the essence stone the monster dropped and the biomass seemed to be fond of essence stone as it absorbs them first before the monster's body

Although you wouldn't really notice the difference as the rate of absorption was absurdly fast, he can absorb more than 10 spiders at once and it only takes a few seconds to fully absorb it

He also didn't forget about the new ability he acquired, he could now create a black exoskeleton armour protecting his whole body making his defence even stronger

While all this was happening, suddenly a giant spider jumped out of nowhere and tried to pin him down, Kade did not try to evade it as he wanted to know the limit of his physical prowess

With that being said he punched the spider with full force mid-air, the outcome was what he was expecting, the giant spider's body exploded into a green goo, but that wasn't the end as the impact alone shook the whole cave sending shockwaves throughout the cave

After seeing how powerful he is Kade couldn't help but smile and said out loud

"I could probably give Peanut a good fight back home…on second thought probably not, he'll still snap my head in a matter of seconds"

After absorbing the boss spider and gaining the ability to produce poison from inside his body, he slowly made his way back to the exit shapeshifting into Dongsuk in the process

As he walked towards the exit he extended his arm and with a thought a black miasma ball formed in his hand that seemed dangerous to touch, dropping the black miasma ball on the ground he noticed that the floor melted once it made contact with the black miasma, turning the small part of the dungeon floor into a goo-ish black pond.

Seoul, South Korea, outside the C-rank spider dungeon

The Hunter Association staff were busy managing the crowd and people coming out of the dungeon

One of the staff Kang Taeshik, noticed Hwang Dongsuk coming out of the dungeon by himself without the rest of his party, unfortunately for him, he is required to ask questions as much as he wants to avoid it

"Excuse me Mr Hwang, what happened to the rest of your party?"

"Dead, killed by the boss monster"

Kade disguised as Dongsuk gave a short answer and continued walking, Kang Taeshik wanted to ask more questions but Dongsuk vanished in the crowd leaving Kang Taeshik annoyed as he couldn't leave his post

Kade had one goal in mind, and that was to appear suspicious as much as he could, of course, he's got to make it believable he can't just say "Oh I killed them please hunt me down" as that would raise questions

He wanted them to think on their own that Dongsuk killed his team as there was no sign of injury on him, not even a small scratch so it'll be suspicious how his team got killed by the monster when he, Dongsuk himself had no sign of fighting the monsters

This was to make the Association chase after a dead man and make it look like Dongsuk is still alive and well when in fact, he's dead and is used as fertilizer for Kade's body

Seoul, South Korea, Hunter Association main headquarter

Inside the main building is Woo Jinchul on the phone talking to Kang Taeshik

"So he didn't say anything after that? I see, get ready for tomorrow we will be questioning him, yes be prepared because we got no way of knowing what he'll do considering his brother's status"

After the short conversation, Jinchul hung up the phone and looked outside the window with the city centre as his view, he was pondering what might've happened as he hates this situation the most

To him, every hunter is a treasure, and to die inside a dungeon was a great loss to them not to mention their families waiting back home, what's even worse is the high possibility that the one that killed them is a fellow hunter

While busy in his thoughts the phone in his pocket rang, within a split second he answered the call

"Good afternoon sir, what can I help you with today? Yes sir, I'm on my way"

And with that, the person on the other side of the line hung up and Jinchul made his way to the Chairman's office.
