24 CHAPTER 24

/ FEW MONTHS LATER /

A couple can be seen on the rooftop of their house, the man wearing a black t-shirt and track pants, while the woman wearing a black half-long-sleeved shirt and track pants as well. They seem to be swinging their swords, though it would seem that the man was teaching the woman while she was the one being taught...

They were both holding wooden swords. The man circled around her, putting his hands behind his back and looking at her performance with a serious expression.

The man stopped in front of her and said, "Hmm, not bad."

The woman put down her sword, wiping her non-existent sweat. After that, she said, "How many times do I have to do this?"

The man smiled and approached her, getting his face close to hers. He said, "Until it's perfect."

The woman immediately put on a pouty face, but then the man pecked her lips and successfully improved her mood.

Well, you guessed it right, these two were none other than Mikael and Alice...

- MC Pov -

"But seriously, how long do I have to do this? You've been teaching me nothing but the basics of sword arts," Alice asked me, putting both hands around my neck.

"I don't know, it's up to you," I answered, smiling playfully at her. She put on a pouting face yet again, but she immediately smiled and kissed me.

It has been a few months since the encounter with the golden trio, a.k.a James, Laurent, and Victoria. Nothing major or big thing happened after that, well, maybe not for me, but the Cullens were getting a pretty silly headache, and the cause of that was, of course, none other than Bella.

For the past few months, Bella kept pestering the Cullens, especially Edward, about turning her into a vampire. Well, I was partially blamed for her behavior since after Bella found out that I had been 'turned' into a 'vampire' by Alice, she kept asking Edward to turn her into one.

Though there was a funny thing that happened to me a month ago...

/FLASHBACK/

I was walking to my locker after the class ended, and suddenly Bella, out of nowhere, approached me.

"Hey, Mikael..." Bella greeted me with visible awkwardness on her face.

I glanced at her for a moment, then back to putting my stuff in the locker and said, "What can I do for you, Bella?"

I could see Bella glancing left and right, making sure no one was near us, and she said, "C-can you t-turn me?"

I immediately stopped what I was doing with my locker and looked at her. After a moment, I answered, "No."

"Why-" Before she could ask further, Edward suddenly appeared between us. He awkwardly smiled at me and dragged Bella outside.

I just shook my head and chuckled. Then, after I finished putting my stuff in the locker, I walked to the parking lot. I couldn't help but laugh internally, thinking about what happened before. The reason I rejected her was obviously that I didn't want to, and lastly, I was never a vampire.

The whole "Alice turned me into a vampire" was just a cover to hide my true power. The Cullens, of course, knew this, but Bella didn't.

After what happened today, of course, the Cullens and I had a 'meeting' at their house to talk about it.

(The Cullens' House)

We held the meeting in the living room, with me sitting on a comfy single sofa and Alice on my lap. Some had a serious face, while others were frowning.

"Mikael, mind telling us what happened today?" Carlisle asked.

"Well, long story short, Bella asked me to turn her into a vampire, which sounds ridiculous to me since I was never one," I answered, chuckling a bit.

"This is getting unbearable! Every time she meets us, she always asks the same thing: 'When is my turn to get the bite?' 'Why is Mikael getting a bite and I don't?' 'Maybe Edward doesn't have to worry about me after I turn into a vampire,'" Rosalie said with an annoyed tone.

"You tell me..." Emmett chimed in, but instantly received a glare from Rosalie.

After that, there was a moment of silence until Thea said, "What do we do now?"

"I think we should leave," Edward suddenly said, but Alice rejected the idea instantly.

"Why should we leave? I haven't had any bad visions lately after our encounter with those trio nomads," Alice argued.

"Edward, don't you remember that next month is Bella's birthday? Are you going to make her sad if you leave so suddenly? Think about it," Alice said to Edward.

"Alice's right. We've been planning her birthday party and discussing what present we should get for her," Thea added, getting a nod from Alice.

"Are you just going to forget it all, Edward?" I added, stoking the fire a little.

After hearing all of this, Edward seemed to be contemplating something. Then he said, "You're right, I'm sorry."

Esme approached him, patted him on the shoulder, and said, "It's okay. You have us, we have each other. We can do this together, we always find a way out, as family."

Everyone nodded, and the meeting ended. After that, I had dinner from Esme's cooking, which always went overboard. She literally cooks everything available in the fridge.

After saying goodbye to them, Alice and I went home...

/FLASHBACK END/

-MC Pov-

We parted from our kiss, and then I said to Alice, "Do you know the reason why I haven't taught you about the main techniques yet?"

Alice shook her head, so I gestured for her to sit down and we sat down facing each other.

"It is because we need qi or chi or energy, simply put, in order for us to execute those techniques. We can't do it recklessly because of the risk. We can lose our limbs and organs, and in the worst case, it can lead to our death."

"And energy is not that easy to gather if we don't have a 'Core,' so we have to build our core before we can gather energy and use that as fuel to execute our techniques," I explained solemnly to Alice.

"Then, how can I get one?" Alice asked with a hopeful expression.

*Sigh*

With a heavy heart, I answered, "Only a living being can."

Alice, with a sad expression, lowered her head, but I held her chin up and looked into her eyes.

"But, you're special."

"I-I don't understand," Alice said with a confused yet hopeful expression.

"You know that I'm immortal, right?" I asked and she nodded.

"You occasionally drank my blood, right? And it can be counted as gallons of blood every time you drank it." I said with a teasing smile while Alice just felt embarrassed and nodded.

I just chuckled and continued my explanation, "Well, my blood is not just ordinary blood. Simply put, my blood is kind of like medicine, a SUPER medicine."

Alice was flabbergasted. She suddenly stood up and said, "T-Then-"

"Yes, yes, you can build your core, but it will take a long time since I can feel just a tiny amount of it on your abdomen." I cut her off before she could say anything further.

Honestly, I have a miracle pill to build her core in an instant, but it would be overwhelming for her. I don't know if her body can take it, and I don't know if it'll work on the dead. I don't want to risk it.

Alice suddenly grabbed my face and pushed me to the ground. Then she looked at me straight in the eye and said, "What if, what if I can be fertile again? I can be pregnant!"

This time, this time I was the flabbergasted one. I didn't expect her to think straight to that topic and completely ignore the 'Core.'

"I don't know, maybe there's a chance," I said.

"Right!?" Alice said excitedly.

I sat down, then I put her on my lap, and I said in a serious tone, "But one thing, only you can drink my blood, not everyone else, not even your siblings. Do you understand?"

Alice nodded in excitement, and I could only sigh. Then I said, "Maybe it'll take a long time, years maybe, to be able to make you fertile again. I'm not sure."

Alice held my face again and smiled, "We have all the time in the world. We can figure it out on our way."

I smiled back at her, and we kissed. After that, Alice said, "Then we shouldn't waste our time."

"Um, Alice? Are you alright?" I could see Alice licking her lips and her teeth.
