Rainn's First Skill

Rainn looks back at the library building. The alarm has been set off. But not long after Rainn walked to the other side of the street, another Bureau car patrol arrived with an ambulance an SUV.

Rainn breathing with relief. If he is late at least a couple of seconds later, he will be finished.

'You want to spend your skill point?' Tut's voice suddenly comes to his head.

'What do you mean by skill points?' Rainn starts walking in the direction of his home.

'Skill is something like a technique you can use during the fight or other situation.'

'Like to handle gun or sword?'

'Yeah, kinda. But more than that.' said Tut.

'Wait until I got home first. Then we'll talk.'

So, Tut keeps silent while Rainn walks to his home. But unfortunately, Rainn didn't realize that somebody have been watching him all this time since he came out of the library.

She is a woman. Her body is small and looks like she can't do any harm. Even, she looks like needs protection.

The women lick the red liquid on her lips.

"Did he discover the body first?" She mumbled to herself. After that, she vanished into the dark alley beside the library building.

Rainn finally arrived at his home. After locking his iron door, Rainn sat leg-crossed on the floor.

"Okay, start explaining,"

'Open your stats window,' Tur said.

Rainn does it immediately.

"Okay. I can see some change there." Rainn said while looking at the stats window.

'Chose the Skill tab.'

Rainn thinks about opening the Skills and then suddenly another window appeared. His stats window got smaller and moved to the side.

There, Rainn can see like ten skill lists.

- Ultimate Instinct (level 1)

- Vortex warp (level 1)

- Shock Step (level 1)

- Metal Skin (level 1)

- Slowing (level 1)

- Protection (level 1)

- Magic Missile (Level 1)

- Pyrokinesis (level 1)

- Lighting Bolt (level 1)

- Levitate (level 1)

Rainn's eyes widened. He can't believe what he saw. There is a bunch of cool-looking power he can choose.

'You have 5 skill points. So you can spend them in only one of those skills until it reached level 5, or you can choose five skills in level 1.'

Explanation from Tut is pretty easy to understand. Rainn has two choices now. Is he wanted to get one strong skill or five weak new skills?

Or, he can spend the point on two skills so he can get two skills that reached more than level 1.

Rainn thinking in silence while reading every description of the skill. He wants skills that can help him complete the main quest he received.

"I choose Ultimate Instinct and Pyrokinesis," Rainn said.

Then the two skills on the window start glowing. The other skills vanished and the Ultimate Instinct and Pyrokinesis skill is added to Rainn's stats window.

"I want to spend 2 points on Ultimate Instinct and 3 points on Pyrokinesis," Rainn said again.

Then, the number beside the skill level is changed.

[ Skills: Ultimate Instinct (level 2), Pyrokinesis (level 3) ]

'Would you mind telling me why you chose to spend the skill point this way?' Tut asked.

"Ultimate instinct can enhance my ability to look for hidden things and increase my reflexes. And pyrokinesis can make me create fire at will. I guess it's pretty strong skills." Rainn answered simply.

'Not that simple. You have to pay attention to your MP. Because you can only use these skills when consuming MP.'

Rainn sighed, "You right. So how do I make my MP higher?"

'You have to train. MP is Mana, the magic power. That power is long lost from this world. Only a very few people can do that now. But with the help of Systema, you now have that power.'

Rainns eyebrows curved, "Okay, I don't pretend to understand that now. Just show me how to train that."

'You have to feel the flow of the natural energy and your energy. By doing that, your understanding of this power is increasing, so your MP point will also increase.'

"Just like my strength increasing after doing one thousand push-ups?"

'exactly.'

Rainn nodded as understanding. Suddenly, another daily quest appeared before him.

[ Time limit: 2 days ]

Rainn sighed. Again, the impossible number appeared.

'Because you already finish the previous daily quest, you can get another daily quest.' said Tut.

Rainns arms still hurt after that one thousand push-ups. He knows that he pushes himself too much. But he needs to do it to become stronger.

"I guess I need to go somewhere else."

Rainn goes outside. There's a place just behind the apartment building. An abandoned park there.

Rainn arrives at the park. This park used to be lively and full of flowers. Often, families spend the weekend here.

But after a mutilated body was found here. This park is abandoned.

All of the flowers are dead and nobody bothers to clean them. Leaving the bleak scenery of this park.

Rainn looked around and don't see anybody around.

"Okay, what should I do now?" Rainn felt excited.

'What you want to practice first?' asked Tut.

"Pyrokinesis. It's a power to control fire right?"

'Yes. At a higher level, you can create a bigger fire with your mind. You just need to concentrate, imagine how fire felt in your hand. The heat, the light, everything.'

Rainn tries to do like what Tut has told him. But it is not as easy as it seems. Rainn had tried ten times in a row, but he still cants create fire. Only his head feels hurt.

"Shit, this is hard," Rainn grumbled.

'It's not easy learning a power that has already been lost from your world, is it?'

Rainn said between his breath, "You damn right."
