I woke up in a groggy state and tried to recall where I was. My name was John Bell, and I remember going to sleep next to my cat, Puma, with a killer headache. I had just come back from work and the headache started shortly before I went to sleep. It immediately felt like my head was splitting apart in two. I didn't know what happened but I tried my best to go to sleep so that it would go away.
Back to the situation at hand though, and in my less-than-stellar state, I tried looking around and seeing if I can identify where I was.
The place I was in looked to be a pretty big room, and I knew it wasn't my room or house because I could see a lot of bunk beds filling my perspective as I looked across the entire room with kids sleeping on it.
I didn't know where I was, but I inevitably started panicking. Why was I in a room with a bunch of kids sleeping?? I didn't want to make a ruckus though because I was scared I'd wake up the children and whoever put me here will come along.
The more I thought about my situation though, the more I started to panick. I mean I woke up in a completely unfamiliar place, surrounded by kids sleeping, and in a somewhat dilapidated house that looked to be Japanese.
The reason I say that is there were some paintings around the room that had kanji, something which I had learned when I was in college when I wanted to be able to watch Anime on sub without reading the captions. But that was not that important right now.
I rose from my own bed, the bottom bunk, and when I pulled the blanket off me I looked at my own hands that seemed to be pale white and soft-looking, something which scared the living shit out of me.
"Huh??!?" I let out a small yelp, one that went unnoticed by the kids sleeping
What the hell?? My hands aren't my hands. My previously tan and somewhat calloused rough hands are now white and soft. I obviously knew the own features of my body, and this was not what it was. There was another thing that happened to make its priority to my mind, and that was the fact that the hand was roughly the size of a rock.
At this point, I couldn't stop my panic from growing and my chest from feeling like it was suffocating, but it seemed the moment I identified that this wasn't my body and was about to go into a panic attack, I suddenly felt the world spinning and passed out after a moment of excruciating pain.
When I woke back up, it was because someone was jolting me back awake. I opened my eyes and caught a glimpse of the culprit, a middle-aged woman shaking me awake.
"It's time to wake up Sosuke".
Who the hell was Sosuke, I wanted to retort. Not to mention the fact that someone I don't know touched me while I was asleep was already a reason for me to fly into a panic, but the fact that she clearly called me by someone else's name also made it confusing.
"Yes matron" was all that came out of my mouth though
What the hell?!? Why did I respond like that, and why did I call her matron?? As she left to go wake up the other kids though, I had some time to myself. As I sat there pondering what was happening to me, I seemed to gain access to the memories of Sosuke Aizen.
He was apparently a 5-year-old orphaned kid present at Konoha Leaf Village Orphanage run by a couple of matrons. He's mainly a quiet kid, but he is not anti-social and instead just likes to observe the world around him.
Based on his memories, his parents died a couple of months after his birth and he was found by a ninja passing by who brought him here. His parents were retired Genin, both of them, but both merchants, so they lived a good life as they were quite well off from their combined income.
Something to note is Sosuke is also somewhat bigger than other kids his age, not strikingly, but noticeably. Big enough to pass as a 7-year-old, and in the younger years of a kid, every year brought about tremendous changes so this was somewhat special.
John didn't really have a struggle in identifying these memories, and what was even weirder was that he didn't reject them at all. You'd think that waking up with a different set of memories of another person, you'd panic or deny them, but John found that it was quite easy to accept that he had just become Sosuke Aizen, in a world with ninjas, which John knew was the Naruto world
