Synopsis

In a galaxy ravaged by war and haunted by the ever-expanding Dead Zones, Naia is a skilled Harmony Navigator - a person of extraordinary powers that can temporarily stabilize paths through them. Thus she was trained and recruited into the branch of the military known as Vanguard Operations. She finds her romance - a welcome stabilizing factor in her life - thrown into turmoil when the enigmatic and powerful soldier, Theia, joins her squad. It would be clear to anyone that the two women looked very much alike… and it was long clear to Naia that this woman was the one she was always meant to replace in Evander’s heart. Bound by duty, Naia must navigate not only the treacherous reality-bending terrain of the Dead Zones but also the growing tension and unspoken desires within their team. As her squad leader Evander's attention slips ever more towards the alluring and unpredictable Theia, the Navigator grapples with feelings of jealousy, insecurity, and a growing sense of isolation. Love & Duty - Or Duty & Sacrifice? A balance that the three can live with is sought. Will she be able to maintain her focus and fulfill her vital role in the war effort, or will the discord fomenting within their squad consume them all? Naia must confront the rising tide of chaos, both within herself and slowly building in the world around her… ultimately discovering the true price of harmony. ---- Romance-Drama with a Science-Fantasy setting. Messy Triangle - yes. An Omni-Directional one? At times, but it's not poly. Some FxM R-18/Smut... Chapter 1Chapter 1 - Arrival of Harmony & Discord

The ride there was turbulent as always. The metal frame of the transport groaned against the strain of warp travel. Naia braced herself against the vibrations, letting her hand instinctively reach for Evander's. Like usual, he clasped it quickly. His grip was firm and reassuring despite remaining silent.

In the disorienting flux of interdimensional space it was a familiar ritual. A gesture they'd shared countless times before missions. Yet for Naia, a sense of different unease lingered beneath the surface. She knew who they were going to meet soon.

She knew that it was going to be complicated, to put it lightly.

The airlock hissed and the door opened. The couple stepped onto a windswept plateau that had been brutalized by lightning. The acrid scent of ozone filled their nostrils and Naia sneezed.

When she opened her eyes again she noted that a squad of soldiers stood at attention. Their gazes were fixed on a figure standing on the cliff, bathed in the glow of the setting sun. Whether it was respect or wariness in their looks was hard to say.

Unbound blonde hair whipped in the wind as the person turned around and eyes like the tropical sea - like larimar - met theirs with an intensity that sent a shiver down Naia's spine for more than one reason.

"Theia."

Evander breathed out the name. The woman offered a curt nod in his direction, but then her lips curved into a fleeting, enigmatic smile. Naia's heart sank. The blonde's face and her eyes really did look so similar… to hers. This was her infamous obstacle.

The missed connection and first love - an unreachable goddess that remained in his mind - the white moonlight that shone across his eyes every time he must have looked at her in the beginning. The legendary soldier whose exploits were whispered throughout every rank.

And now, she was their new squadmate.

Evander stepped forward letting his hand drop Naia's as he addressed Theia.

"Welcome to the squad. I trust you're familiar with the mission parameters?"

Theia's enigmatic smile widened. A hint of amusement danced in her eyes as she looked between the pair.

"Of course. Navigate the Dead Zone, secure the Artifact, neutralize any Hostiles. Standard fare, wouldn't you say?"

Naia inwardly bristled at the casual dismissal of the dangers they faced. The Dead Zone was a treacherous expanse of unstable energy, where reality itself seemed to warp. Only a Harmony Navigator had the ability to stabilize the chaos and offered a chance of safe passage. It was only the fact that the woman also trivialized fighting the enemies on the other side that calmed her.

Evander - seemingly oblivious to his lover's near unease - continued the briefing.

"Naia will guide us through the Dead Zone. Her ability to sense where and when to stabilize it is crucial for our success."

Theia turned her piercing gaze on Naia. A flicker of curiosity in her eyes at seeing the other woman. It was an interesting experience for her… to recognize that the person looked like her but was not.

"A Harmony Navigator, is it? How... quaint."

Naia's cheeks flushed as insecurity rose within her. Then her brow furrowed with a slight amount of anger at being belittled. As if acting before she could retort, Evander intervened.

"Theia, Naia's abilities are essential. I expect you to show her the same respect you would any other squad member."

Theia inclined her head, a mocking glint in her eyes. But who it was meant to be toward was hard to tell.

"Of course, Evander. You are the mission leader. Whatever you say."

The black haired and anxious feeling 'version' of the woman speaking tightened the grip on her harmonic staff. The metal that was cool beneath her fingers warmed with the pressure. She could tell that everything from now on was going to be different.

A storm was brewing as two fronts met together - not just in the swirling vortex of the Dead Zone ahead, but within the personal dynamic of their newly formed squad. Naia couldn't tell which of them were at the center.

The inscrutable emotions of Theia, a woman who threatened to unravel the threads that bound Naia and Evander together.

Evander himself, who seemed to be acting professional… but who she felt was distant in a way different than just her anxious imagination.

Or herself, the one who was worrying about something that had yet to happen.

The entire squad prepared to embark into the Dead Zone as an eerie stillness settled over the plateau. The wind which had been so constant died down abruptly, leaving an unnatural silence in its wake. The air itself grew heavier, charged with an unseen energy that prickled Naia's skin.

The navigator quickly took her place at the helm of the squad's specialized transport, her hands hovering over the intricate controls. The vehicle, unlike the standard military issue used on bases back home, was equipped with an array of resonators designed to amplify her abilities. They were a needed aid in projecting the stable reality field around them as they navigated the treacherous expanse.

Evander moved to stand beside her, his expression grim as his eyes scanned the horizon. Naia shared his concern.

"The Dead Zone is unusually agitated."

"I'm picking up... something. A disturbance, deeper in."

He murmured, his voice barely audible above the hum of the resonators. His tactical ability worked on a level nearly as mysterious as her own - so when he said there was something disturbing matters, she didn't question it. Theia meanwhile crossed her arms while leaning against a nearby console, her gaze oddly fixed on Naia.

"Can your abilities handle it, Navigator?"

The women's eyes met, both looking for the differences in each other rather than the similarities. Evander was silently doing the same.

"They'll have to."

Naia replied. Her voice was calm but laced with the underlying tension of her duty. She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath as she reached out with her senses, feeling for the threads of cosmic harmony that wove through the chaotic energy of the Dead Zone.

Be Careful What You Wish For: A Zombie Apocalypse

I see dead people. But hey, it’s the zombie apocalypse, everyone is seeing dead people, including a blind girl. It’s not like I am that special. For a while, I thought I was going to be Cinderella, complete with the cruel stepfamily and the little mice for helpers. But instead of mice, I got demons from hell with a taste for chaos. Then again, there is nothing wrong with a little chaos in the middle of the apocalypse. It’s what makes life worth living. Unfortunately for others, they don’t quite see it that way. You see, I have a gift. One that isn’t exactly mine, but I can use it however I see fit. My gift is granting wishes. I'm a genie without a bottle, but it would be nice if people appreciated me more. All the humans ask for is the same thing… more food here, shelter there, kill these people, torture those. And I do it all, for a small price. I don’t ask for money or food, I can get that on my own. No, I want favors, souls, something that means everything for the other person. And they give it to me. Their momentary desire worth their long term happiness. But by the time they discover that, I’m long gone, already moved on to my next… client. I know I look young, starvation and abuse will do that to a girl. Humans tell me that I shouldn’t be wandering out there alone. Some try to help me… most don’t. But whoever said I was by myself? Just because others couldn’t see them didn’t mean my demons ever left. I still hear their voices in my head, whispering words of encouragement and love. For them, I’d do anything. Kill anyone. Destroy anything. After all, life is just a game, right? Those still alive at the end of the day were the lucky ones. Those who died were not. Everything is just a game of chance, all a human has to do is roll the dice. My only word of advice is to be careful what you wish for… you just might get it. My name is Hattie, welcome to my world. Would you like a cup of tea?

Apocalypse: After Reanimation, I Became The Queen

Betrayed. Ridiculed. Killed. That was my past life. I trusted the wrong people, and they buried me for it. But fate wasn’t done with me yet. When I opened my eyes again, it wasn’t in my old body—it was in a world overrun by the undead. And this time, I was one of them. A fucking zombie! But I’m not like the others. I think. I feel. I remember. What’s this voice in my head? [Welcome to the Silent Requiem System!] The system feeds me power, unlocking missions and skill buried within this body. I have one goal: rise in rank, take control, and make sure no one ever tramples me again. The humans I move with have no idea what I really am. To them, I’m just another survivor, clawing my way to the top. But in battle, I use my abilities in secret—manipulating the undead, eliminating threats, and turning every fight in my favor. But rumors are spreading. There’s talk of an undead hiding among them, unseen and unstoppable. If they find out the truth, they’ll hunt me down like a monster. And my past? It’s here too. The people who betrayed me in my last life are standing right beside me, unaware of who I am. But I remember them. They turned on me once—I won’t give them the chance to do it again. Then there’s him. The commander of the city, sharp-eyed and ruthless. He’s watching me too closely, asking too many questions. If he figures out the truth, I’ll have to make a choice: eliminate him, outplay him… or pull him into my trap before he can destroy me. Because in this world, power is the only thing that matters. And this time, I refuse to be at the bottom. *** "How did you survive when everyone else died?" I guess death just didn’t want me. "Why do the zombies ignore you?" Maybe I just have a face they don’t like. "You were just a nobody yesterday—how are you suddenly so strong?" Hard work, luck… and a little bit of hex. "Why do I feel like I've seen you somewhere before?" Déjà vu’s a funny thing, isn’t it? "What are you?" Wouldn’t you like to know? ~20 Chapters Mass Release on the 1st and 2nd of April!~

Fight, Flight, or Freeze: The Healer's Story

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wake up in a body that wasn't yours? A much, much younger body? I can't say that I had ever given it much thought. That was until one night when a patient entered the ER where I was working at and shot me point blank in the head. You know, if he wanted a second opinion, all he had to do was ask. But that's besides the point... Some how, some way, I work up in a strange hospital with a woman that looked suspiciously like my mother holding my hand and crying. Over joyed to see her, it took me a few minutes to realize that I was no longer the 25 year old, successful doctor at one of the most prestigious hospitals in the world. Nope, I was a 6 year old girl that for a moment... wanted her mother. When the apocalypse comes, it is everyone for themselves. I have three choices: do I fight for what I want? Will I run away and hide, or will I freeze when the demons of my past come back to haunt me? You might know me as the Healer, but this is my story to tell. ------ Fight, Flight, or Freeze is the second novel in the Rebirth in the Apocalypse series, this time featuring the Healer: Wang Tian Mu and her men. You won't have to read the first one to be able to understand this one, and she is not going to stay a child for the whole thing. Li Dai Lu and her guys will be popping in occasionally, but this is strictly Wang Tian Mu's story! I hope you enjoy!
